Not the best university... Outdated education..... also not helping us in need of documents..... says 30 days for duplicated statement of marks and takes more than 75 days... many delays regarding documents.... also examination department is not good..... exam paper checking is the worst in the world..corrupted peoples all around the departments... Don't even deserve 1 star...

Feels like a slave while studying under their syllabus structure which is totally exam oriented and just about scoring high grades without learning anything. They burden you with their stupid assignments and submissions. Also, the syllabus isn't about new ideas and technology but all about creating robots without creativity at the end of every 4 years. The exam sector administration is the worst. They don't even check your answer papers with dedication and find intense pleasure in giving 0s to your answers if they don't look long enough, doesn't matter what the content is. I had solved a numerical in DME-II paper of mechanical engineering which gave me the precise answer after solving a complicated equation. They gave me 2/8 for it because I didn't do it by trial and error method and therefore it didn't look long enough. So they expected me to go wrong 3-4 times and that I should waste some of my time before arriving at the correct answer. Guess what? Trial and error procedure was given everywhere in the local publications. And the hypocrisy is that, they encourage you to go for reference books. The paper is mostly set from local authors' books only. I wish I studied in the USA, because India is a living hell if you have got the talent to something great for your country. Corruption, in some or the other form exists at every level, be it taking salary for vain. All they care about is the cash that flows in. The revaluation process is around rupees 500 per subject, and you don't even get it back if you pass in the subject. So you pay them for their wrongs. I'd rather have my children pull rickshaw than letting them study here. And they wouldn't even allow you to publish their wrongs. Take a look at these rules, which you need to agree with, before applying for a photocopy:
The candidate shall not publish the Xerox copy/ies of Answer Book(s) in any form.
The applicant candidate s shall be the sole custodian of the photo/xerox copy/ie s, so supplied and shall not be entitled to transfer the same to anybody, for any purpose, whatsoever. The candidate(s) shall further refrain himself from putting such xerox copy/ies to any misuse that might jeopardize the reputation of the University.

Reputation? What's that? In simple words, they don't want to take any sort of responsibility for their unfair behaviour.

it is not what it used to be. Uni Pune has lost it's status. I live in Pune and took admission in it and now i regret it. Many big colleges have started to cancle the affilation of this university and have become deemed, and the worst department is Engineering dept. Corruption, lack of skilled staffs, lack of managment skills etc are the biggest problems of this university. i would recommend Delhi or Mumbai university rather than Shitty Uni Pune :(

Scientists at the Savitribai Phule Pune Universitys Physics department have developed nuclear batteries for the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). The nuclear batteries provide low voltage power for 30-35 years without charging or maintenance. One of the best university in Maharashtra. Along with good education, extracurricular activities on various special days are also organised. On 28 Feb every year on the occasion of National Science Day, very good event is organised, which is very useful for science lovers of all the ages.

Worst university put online exams in engineering making the students regret and it also not level of oxford so people don't call it eastern oxford

Horrible experience... if you dont love your Marks in Exam ,then probably you are at best place to go on..because making 60% is like taking the honourable degree of PhD...;
Secondary If by god sake you are Out of Maharashtra student then forget about 60 all through..or else you can get 60% if you agree with your teacher when they say its night in day time and day in night time...(full buttering)...more over very important,If you CANT MAKE 60% you are NOT ELIGIBLE FOR GOVERNMENT JOBS, future PhD or Master level Exam etc...
In short seat in home or work in BPO(call center) reason why pune is one of the best hub for these BPO companies...WHY TO COME THIS RAJ THAKRE STATE...???WHERE MARATHI DON'T LIKE OUR TALENT IN THEIR UNIVERSITY!!

One of the renowned university in India. Each and every department is best. Botany department has its own botanical garden where's biodiversity is too good. In entire university one can see huge huge ficus sp. Trees like banyan, peeple tree, dulbergia sp. And many more.

It is really a privilege to be part of Pune university. Great culture and level of study at Pune university.
