The resort is lovely but the food does not suit the Arabs neither breakfast nor luncheon dinner

The resort is a marvellous place with lots of rooms mostly occupied by foriegners, it has a 24 hour room service and restaurant a good swimming pool which can be viewed from the rooms. The beach is a 2-3 minute walk away from the resorts garden.

The staff is friendly, It was my birthday during my stay, the resort organized a cake and birthday song when we came for breakfast in the morning, the staff sang the song and clapped and wished me a happy birthday and the cake was delicious I had a very great and memorable time at the place.

We had an unpleasant experience in this so called 5 star resort. firstly, the hotel looks old and rooms were smelly. Swimming pool was good and spacious and the outside area including the beach had good vibes. Reception staff were friendly but I had to provide a proof for my advance payment as their system was not updated with the payment.
Regarding the food, we had the worst experience in a 5 star hotel. At dinner we found some unclean stuff in some dishes and things got worse when we found battered prawns cooked without cleaning in the lunch buffet. Some prawns were with full of dirt and most of the people ate them covered with the batter without noticing. Then we complained to the waiters and asked them to call a manger or a chef, but nobody bothered and continued to serve the same lot of prawns as if nothing was wrong. The photo of the filthy prawns is attached here. Finally, during the checkout we complained to the reception Manager Mr. Yohan and forwarded the photo as well (screenshot of forwarded photo attached). We waited there for sometime to see if he would take some action to at least stop serving that again. But our efforts were in vain. After returning, three of our group members got stomachache, vomiting and diarrhea for three days and had to consult a doctor who confirmed that it was due to contaminated food. So, please be careful when you visit this place.

Except for the weather everything was nice, Tharani and Shazna took care of everything.

The hotel is worth the 5 stars everything was fine and the people were totally nice. The Eden Resort in Sri Lanka is so good to recommend

One of the good place I have been. Obviously a five star hotel. It has got almost everything inside. Beds are cozy. Meals are better and have good choices. It has a gym and indoor games area which has got pool, carrom, chess, table tennis, badminton. Nice chilling area near the beach.
Would be better if the swimming pool has a deep end to swim. It's more like a chilling swimming pool.
Make sure you get your own drinks(soft drinks and energy drinks) if you don't want to pay triple of the amount.

I'm writing this review as I'm going through my couple of days stay.

It doesn't look like much big of a hotel when you first enter through the main gate, but when you go through the lobby it opens up to a big open area with a big pool. The penthouses on the top most floor have a good view but mostly obscured by the trees but still better than the view from other rooms. I heard some corner penthouse rooms have a superb view of the sea, but I cannot confirm that.

The food great. Nothing special to be said on that department yet since I still only had just one lunch. The beach area is good to play rugby in the evening. It's not a very spoiled beach. The pool is not very deep, but for some odd reason the water was very hot today even at around 6pm.

The TV is ridiculous. It has very limited channels and looks very blurry. Gonna try a blue ray movie at night. Let's see how that goes. The TV positioning is even ridiculous. You can't get the full view of TV from any relaxing position on the bed. Pics attached. After a while watching some TV the dialog channels got disconnected. So absolutely nothing to watch after that. Tried to call room service and the phone does not work. I had to go to the lobby and ask for a cloth iron and complainwd about the phone, turns out all comm systems are down.

The dinner was not that great. The variety of food available didn't actually quite match each other. When we returned to the room we were sort of disappointed room service didn't replace used towels with fresh ones.

***Since I couldn't update until I after I left the hotel I will write the rest of it very short.

The food is pretty much the same. It's good but not much variety is there in the buffet, even through 3 days of stay. It's a nice place to stay no matter, nice beach, easily accessible, large enough car park. Would stay there again. End of story.

On the whole the hotel was ok.
If you want peace on the beach, you get these here (beautiful).
The waiters are not the fastest (tip fixes that)

The hotel is very nice, friendly and dedicated staff. The rooms are clean and spacious, the hotel in general is neat. Entertainment is offered in the evening. You can have a really relaxing holiday there. There are also massages and water sports available, all at fair prices.

A great place, I recommend it. All hotel staff very nice, polite and always smiling. Food sensational but not surprising if one of the bosses is young, talented Indika. His curry prawns pierced everything !!! The tour organizers Koko and Harry deserve the attention.

Nice hotel just besides a beautiful beach. Excellent buffet for both vegetarians and non vegs, with properly categorized with color codes. Has a cool tree top hut with nice sea veiw and really cool breeze. Nice stay.

Better place for a vacation . Huge pool is quiet interesting . Meals was same. Mr Yohan who a Residence Manager given a brilliant service for us.

An amazing 5 Star hotel !

I would not find it fair to attribute 5 Stars without being able to make a proper comment on this.

Arrival was uncomplicated and the entrance/ reception area was extremely clean, acclimatised and spacious giving you the feeling you are getting into a massive atrium. At the check in desk you are offered some complimentary welcome drinks to spice up the holiday feeling.

Rooms are spacious fully Air conditioned and clean. Room service works every single day and towels even if not needed, are changed every single day. This is obviously a great service to a few, but for me unnecessary. Mini Bar is daily filled with complimentary water ( free of charge ) and Coffee and Tea ( also free of charge). Rooms have a balcony facing the pool and beach area depending on the side you are staying. Furniture is matching the area and is all made of wood. Some people don t like it, but this is extremely conscious and I ve noticed that they have their own carpenters working at the hotel, keeping doors and furniture always to an optimal state. For me this is a sign that the hotel things about self-sustainability with eyes on their own resources, which makes it definitely worth your time.

Corridors, hallways, elevators are all clean and well taken cared.

Regarding the Restaurant/ Buffett there is much to say. Breakfast is rich in fresh fruits: Bananas, Papaya, Pinnacle, Apple and many more, all Fresh and not from the can like you normally see.
Pastry is also a big thing and even if you notice that its frozen pastry that is freshly baked in the morning it tastes delicious.
They have 2 cooks making eggs and omelettes. Fresh Coffee, Juices and some Asian Rice and dishes are also available for our Asian friends.

For dinner you have to look at your attire ( no flip-flops nor shorts for men) you need to use trousers and shoes. They call this casual at the Eden but Woman can get in with dresses showing their ass cheeks. I found this rather inconsistent on the first days, but I just got used to it after a while. Nonetheless a 5 Star worthy dinner with an amazing variety of dishes for every taste. Glasses of water are free of charge and this was quite amazing as if you are traveling on a budget you can save 50 by the end of your holidays.

Pool Area is clean and the water is definitely warmer than normal but still great. They have a big variety of activities going around like Aerobics, Yoga, Volleyball and many more. The Gym is also clean and they offer free towels and water all day long.

Staff is extremely friendly and helpful every time you need anything and they are not doing it for the tips as some people described it.

The only negative point, that definitely needs to be mentioned and was directly reported to the hotel management from my side is that the beach front is a rather unwanted area for the hotel guests and I can explain why.
The beach front is packed with Beach boys / Selling you pretty much everything they can. No problem with some basic proactive selling, but their approaches quickly became an harassment to me and to some other guests.
I am sure the hotel cannot control what happens outside of their premises, but they should be able to speak to them and say that their approach does not work with the common European Guest.
Eden would definitely profit if they would ask the beach boys to take a rather easy-going approach on selling, as many people like me were avoiding the beach in order not to get bothered.

Nonetheless, this hotel was amazing and worth every penny. Great location, friendly staff, clean premises and a kind reminder that Paradise does exist!

Will be recommending your hotel to everyone I know...

This is a good hotel with very good rooms but can t say that it is a 5 star hotel other than that the staff is friendly the pool is amazing and the food is very good you should definitely stay at this hotel

Nice place with good food and warm hearted staff. It has a nice view of the see as well. If you are looking for sun and sand, this is one of the ideal places in Sri Lanka.

A really great hotel. There is local food and also the normal tourist food. Rooms are very nice and the staff is very friendly. The staff speaks mostly English, but some can also German.

Large hotel with only four floors but it has all the facilities to enjoy a holiday ie lovely pool with bar, very close to the beach, lovely sun loungers near pool with great service, squash court, gym it goes on.Last but not least fantastic restaurant and food and very helpful staff.

Exellent hotel spacious and clean room. The staff are very attentive and very kind. The super nice pool area with direct access to the beach. I recommend it for a relaxing stay.

Totally disappointed due to very low services and facilities.
Eventhough this resort categorized as a 5 star hotel, 3 star resorts in Sri Lanka have better services and facilities than this one because of below reasons.
***Condition of the rooms***
*Beds are not comfortable enough
*There was a fly inside the room
*Very small room
*No bath tubs available
*Used paper towels were available in wash rooms
*There was an issue in back side door
*There was an issue in glass cabinet lights
*They are providing only small (500ml) 2 water bottles for full board which is not enough for two adults for three meals
***Foods and restaurant***
*Very limited foods are available which are not expecting from a 5 star resort
*Very limited rice options are available and cannot match with the provided curry options
*Very common juice options are available which can be find in a outside "Cool Spot"
*There were flies inside the dining area
***Swimming pool***
*There was a swimming monitor lizard inside the pool
*No proper way to eliminate of adding rain water into pool
***Service***
*Welcome to the resort is not attractive
*Luggage carriers and supportive staff is not much supportive
*The way to the car park is not generating a pleasant feeling about the resort
*We call and requested reception to deliver two umbrellas to escape from heavy rain and enter to the resort from the pool area, but they didn't delivered.
***Good side***
*Restaurant stewards are very friendly and their service is good.

A nice hotel. I spend 2 nights with my family . This is the second time i visited this hotel. Beautiful pool and garden. your staff members are very friendly & they are also helpful. Pool staff... Restaurant staff.... they are very friendly. delious food.Thank you very much for making our holiday valuable.
But i had a bad experience also first day morning i asked for dental kit & shaving kit from house keeping at about 7.15 am. i waited about an hour, no one came. So i called them again & wait, no response. @ about 8.30am i had to call them for third time and then i received them. May be the staff was busy, but i felt very bad about that.

The resort is a good choice for families. Let me summarize it in few sentences:

Pros:
- Great swimming pool.
- Friendly staff
- Proper security in the front of the resort.
- Room was good
- Stunning beach and quite atmosphere with a great sunset over the ocean.
- Good for kids.

Cons:
- Nothing at all.

Beautiful Hotel "Eden"! Very friendly staff, extremely clean, delicious food and drinks, perfect breakfast and dinner buffets. Crystal clear pool, paradisiacal gardens and a well-tended, kilometer-long sandy beach, highly recommended. Every day I am surprised at the perfect team. Thank you very much, it was very nice!

Amazing Resort , we had wedding almost 7 years ago. But it still best experience in my life, many thanks for your support and nice organisation , it was unforgettable. Still remember this Resort , kind and very nice staff with sincere love and tenderness in my heart.

Staff of an extraordinary kindness, I spent a dream week! Never any problem, perfumed and comfortable spotless rooms. Every kind of comfort available, great food and in large quantities !!! A stone's throw from the beach and the sea make this place even more beautiful .... and then, fall asleep with the sea that sings you the lullaby .... what a wonderful holiday !!!

Everything is super! The staff is very friendly! The kitchen is worthy of a Michelin star) For a family holiday or a romantic one, or even yourself, you can relax here 100%. The beach is clean, it is being cleaned! The ocean in January is very warm! And the prices are lower than in Odessa)))

Hotel with good food and very green, cozy territory. Comfortable rooms, spacious, furniture and fittings are no longer new. In general, well suited for newlyweds and couples.
