Enjoyed the stay at the Anantara, a little dated in terms of room and hotel features, not as presentable and attractive as it looks in the photos which were clearly taken some time back. Rooms are a good size and beds are comfortable. A single large pool is well kept and overlooks the mangroves which is actual quite serene. The gym is actually really good, lots of equipment and well maintained including weights and cardio machines. A few quick thank yous to Parvesh at the pool side bar, to Cynthia in housekeeping, and the gym staff. Overall this is a 3/5 resort, it does need to be better staffed even during covid, services times at bars and restaurants are very slow which is a management issue for pulling back resources. This really does impact the overall quality of your stay and should be addressed.

Terrible hotel service and rude reception mostly the Indians with the attitude. And the food was relatively good but held a surprise not 10 min of eating i had to go to the restroom. Other than that great rooms.

Very nice resort and quite under rated. Their are a lot of good restaurent to enjoy (of which I believe the Thai is the best). The location is not over crowded and make for a very nice evening either romantic of with friends.

Good place to stay or just eat and walk along the waterfront. Excellent view of the mangroves and Abu Dhabi city. Nice restaurants. In the summer they put up a large air conditioned tent near the pool area that serves food and drinks.

We booked 2 rooms. Drove all the way from Anantara Sir Bani Yas (was an amazing experience) to Anantara Eastern Mangroves in Abu Dhabi, just to find out that the rooms aren't ready. Check in is at 15h00 and we only received a room after 16h00. I asked to talk to a manager and that also didn't happen. The service we experienced weren't good at all and handling the situation also wasn't good. After our meal, we waited very long to return to our room as only one lift was operational. Eventually after I complained they send us with a service lift to our room. Even with expressing our dissatisfaction and disappointment nothing was really done. Only a "I am sorry" answer. I won't return to the hotel again. Lack of service and lack of taking ownership of a problem and doesn't know how to handle a problem situation.

I've stayed in this hotel for more than 2 weeks. The room is nice and comfortable. But the food provided is horrible. I've paid for 3 meals daily. Breakfast is always the same, which consists of an omelette, 2 mini sausage and some bread which is fine. The lunch and dinner are always rice and tiny 3 pieces of chicken or 2 small pieces of fish which is barely enough for one person. The rice is always dry and not fresh. We have complained and asked for some veriaty, so they provided pasta. The pasta was literally with just white sauce!! No mushroom, no chicken or anything. See the picture and decide for yourself.
And ordering food could take from 40 mins to an hour and half which is ridiculous.
Based on my experience with this hotel, I don't think I'll be staying with them in the future.

Beautiful hotel with great service and friendly staff. The view of the mangroves is beautiful. All the restaurants are nice and the staff are excellent. The place is great for the couples, families and business travelers. You can rent a paddle board, kayaks or a boat to explore the mangroves area.

Pool is very small and is accessible only through the main lobby. The gym was okey.

Everything was great about this hotel except 1 disadvantage. If you order a meal to the room, they won't charge it to the room. You will have to pay it either cash or by credit card. The receptionist did take a deposit when we checked-in and whenever we ordered something, we have to either by cash / card.

Anyone with dietary requirements avoid at all costs!
Having visited Several times in the past we were very much looking forward to our stay this EID.
Unfortunately since my last trip I had become quite ill and have been diagnosed with several food allergies. Naturally not wanting to ruin our vacation I called to check that they could cater for me to which I was assured there would be no issues.
On our first day of arrival we had the children at the pool for most of the day and since there were tired decided to order room service so we could keep them in routine and fresh for the next day.
5 phone calls later for room service I taught I finally was speaking with someone that actually understood my intolerances. Unfortunately this was far from the case. Thankfully they only prepared one portion instead of the requested two so I had to split my dinner with my husband. Within five minutes of eating my tongue was swollen and full of blister, my tummy was completely bloated and then a night of bathroom visits ensued.
After my complaint it was nothing short of a comedy show. Phone calls, additional food arriving (made the same way as the previous food received).
According the the cost hef there was none of my allergens in my food so my reaction is a mystery........... (this is the chef that I was to liaise with for the remainder of my visit in regards to what I could eat)
Three children kept up with calls and door knocks for more then two hours after what should have been bed time, a sleepless night after an upset tummy, a morning of no breakfast because of said upset tummy and a hotel manager that never showed to explain what happened because no one else s seems to know has ruined my short stay.
Thankfully we have a carluccio s and waitrose a short walk from the hotel so I can at least get something to eat.
Needless to say we will not be returning and would advise anyone with any special requirements to avoid at all costs.
If I could give 0/5 I would.

Attended ADSG Awards Gala Dinner but the hotel couldn't provide vegetarian main course to 3 of us till the end of the event.
There was a hotel EHS manager on our table who I presume was texting to his colleagues in the kitchen, notably he didn't eat & also waited for our meal.
Furthermore there was a foul stench in the men's washroom.
Turned out to be a bad experience!!

The coolest place in Abu Dhabi

The coolest place in Abu Dhabi
Feeling of warmth and friendliness all around
The workers are at a very high level of professionalism and perfection.
If you are looking for relaxing, upscale, relaxing feel to this unique hotel.
I will not live in another hotel in Abu Dhabi except this one
A strong attraction takes me towards this witch icon.

Before I point out a few things that I would like the Management of this beautiful hotel to know, I would like to say that I am, as I am typing this, still in the hotel for a few more days and happy to have a discussion about these points as I have worked in hospitality for a while too.

- the pool is no disco. Music is good to have for ambience and to not hear all the conversations of the other guests but my wife an I are literally having earplugs in right now.
- Some people wanna sleep, read or watch TV after 10pm, avoid pool partys like on the 27th or at least inform your guests having a room on the pool side.
- coach your housekeeping staff properly. Multiple times we had towels changed that weren't on the floor and used only once, I had to ask your staff twice for toilet paper ( yes Europeans do use it). Toilets don't get wiped off properly.
- Tell your kitchen staff to never ever hand out burned food.( This happened o us at the pool on the 26th Dec.) They should apologize for the wait and explain that it burned because reasons but please dont make the guests complain and return the food, they normally don't give you a second chance. (I have to be fair and say that we didn't have to pay for that food and drinks)

Cheers Dave

The hotel for an Anantara is well below the standards of the rest of Anantara in the Emirates. The hammock area in the pool is tiny, all the hammocks very close together without any space. The restaurants, the very basic buffet (nothing to write home about), the pool bar, the service very slow and the waiters some did not speak English very well.
There is no beach, you have to go to Saadiyat island.
Activities are fine Kayaking, boat trip, bike rental
We were not surprised by this hotel and it has not met our expectations
