Beautiful views and the food was great (I had the ox cheek benedict). It's pretty cool that it is open 24hrs - a sunrise brunch would be stunning with those views. I deduct a star for slightly stand offish service and for it being quite tricky to work out where to go when you step out of the lift! (follow the corridor, across the bar and the restaurant is on the other side)
I like the combination of duck legs and waffles, and the scenery is beautiful. The restaurant is a bit noisy.
Go to place for 24-hour dining really really enjoy it here every time I come here always a laugh and food is not so bad to...
Food & Drink: 6/10
Service: 4/10
Decor & atmosphere: 7/10
Service speed: 6/10
Cost: 6/10
The best: The views.
The worst: Average service and average prices.
Lowdown: It is worth it for views and during sunset the place is stunning. As for the service... Forgetful and inexperienced. Forgot to bring water and starter (they acknowledged this and took it off the bill which was good). Food isnt terrible with some great combinations but don't quite match the price (you pay for the view).
Come here if only for the views alone. It is amazing to look out across London and see every inch of it from this panoramic dining area.
The staff here are exceptionally attentive and friendly while still remaining very professional. We came here for breakfast and the eggs were divine and the flavours intense. The coffee here is the best I have ever had. I'm normally a one coffee with breakfast person but I could have easily gone through four as it was that good.
The french toast is a delicious sweet breakfast treat and is highly reccommended.
You will definitely need to book in advance but it is well worth the wait!
Excellent food. Excellent service. Wonderful staff.
The restaurant is open 24 hours. Beautiful views both day and night (table is recommended in advance on the website)
Menu: crispy duck legs on waffles with maple sauce (18 pounds) and moito passion fruit juice (Passion Fruit Mojito 14 pounds)
Taste: The food is very delicious. The duck is very crispy. The maple sauce is sweet and delicious. It matches the taste of duck and waffles. The cocktail is very strong.
Service: Good service, good service charge The staff are courteous. Polite service
View: View 360 degrees around London.
Serving duck and waffle is something interesting. Got landscape view of London city. Nice experience but no attraction going back there...
Loved the waffles and the high rise restaurant. Makes for a scenic experience. Will be coming again
Amazing place and views. Very recommend. The duck and waffle in the menu was incredibly good and so were the desserts.
Great view and vibe of the spot if upmarket. Front door staff can be quite rude so just be prepared. Famous duck and waffle dish is OK but much better options around.
One of the best, if not THE best restaurant I have been to in a long long time. We booked an early evening table on Saturday night and ended up being late but the staff kept the table for us despite huge queues. We had an amazing table right next to the windows over looking East London. It was amazing to experience the city at such a height. The food was fantastic, the signature dish is incredibly tasty!
Trendy but the brunch menu a bit too unconventional....not satisfying
Was in here yesterday and just had a look at the duck with spring onion and mine looked like nothing like it does on here and it never mentioned it was with rice , mine looked like slop in a bowl and was not very tasty also I have felt ill all day today . Will not be going back
Day out in London with my mum and stopped somewhere for a quick drink and some snacks. Great views one way but nothing much to see the other way in the bar area. Food and drinks were lovely but rather pricey and service charge of 13% More
Great place to eat a full english and see london sky line at dawn.
Good food and great view of London while you are dining. The chicken was delicious.
The duck and waffle was great but other breakfast dishes were just so so.
Amazing food and friendly efficient service! will be back for sure!
Went at 2am after a fun night exploring the London nightlife. Let's put it this way. There are few things more magical than gazing out at the immense London skyline, and sipping Prosecco, while eating a plate of, you guessed it, Duck and Waffle. An experience I will never forget. The manager was also an amazing guy. I didn't get his name, but he helped charge my phone and showed us a video of what the sunrise looks like from the restaurant every morning
Incredible dining experience! Great food (for veggies too) and amazing views
Very good service beautiful view both in day and night especially at night and excellent menu was very interested to know it was 24 seven the wine is excellent however they will be building a building in front of the view
I don t really see the point of this restaurant
First you have to fight to have reservation (month in advance)
Then the place is really average : just a rotisserie looking place
No special atmosphere and It s very noisy
Then there are way too many useless waiters
asking you 10 times what you need and if everything is ok but not reactive at all when you need to ask for something
They bring new dishes before taking of the former one
Also the food is really average nothing special
Especially the duck (dry) and the waffles (dry)...
Did it once because everyone talked about it but no going back for sure ...
Good food - I had the duck and waffle which I quite liked. Wasn t very happy with the service - particularly the behaviour of the waiter who sounded arrogant.
My favorite place to take friends visiting London.
The good cocktails, amazing views, and fantastic duck & waffle make it unbeatable - especially to cap off an already great night out in Shoreditch. Also great for weeknights when many other bars in London close relatively early. Open 24-hours, there is no better late night spot out there.
Only small complaint would be that they should add more beer options. It would pair so well with the duck and waffle.
If you want to go during a more peak time make sure to book in advance since it can get busy!
Best food experience I've had in London. Lovely staff. Great views. Gorgeous food. A real treat.
Amazing views from 40th floor in the centre of the city. Food is delicious and different than in most places. Definitely must go to place. Very busy - booking approx 2-3 months ahead.
Incredible view. Friendly staff.
Duck and waffle is disgusting as the duck is plain without any seasoning with one tinny sweet waffle.
i had a meal with my wife in the afternoon. i was so upset and disappointed. we were refused to come in to your restaurant to eat a month ago because of our trainers. but when we were eating there today, we saw lots of people were eating there who ware trainers. so i was shocked that why we could not eat last time. what is more, it was heavy rain last time when we came to eat, whatever we talked to the reception, she just refused us to come. i am wondering we were dreamed or what?or you just change your rules. it is so not fare for me. i will not come to eat anymore. it was a bad experience for me. By the way, food is not great. Very greasy!!!
A must for any London visitor or local! Food was better than the view!
Nice place to impress people. it's at the very last floor of one of the highest skyscraper in London, open 24/7. you can go there simply for a drink at the bar or enjoy lunch/dinner/breakfast at any time of the day. the food is good, and the price is not crazy, we had a good dinner for around 60 pounds with starter main course and dessert. If you want to impress someone you cannot be wrong herer.
Fantastic view and food (except for the waffle which was average). Service was good and staff helped find a lost glove even though the restaurant was super busy.
Excellent view of London in a clear day at day/night from its 39th floor! Not bad food at all for the type of restaurant it is. I can highly recommend the Duck&Waffle. Great atmosphere for special occassion for couples and small groups.
Great service, amazing view and decent food. Came here with a friend and we both had the Duck & Waffle.
The food plating was great but sadly, the duck was rather tough. When asked about the tough meat, the waiter changed both mine and my companion's Duck and Waffle for a fresh one, replacing everything. Thankfully, the meat was succulent the second time we tried it.
The view during the day was spectacular. We could clearly see the surrounding buildings of the business district and the Thames; we could even see the Tower Bridge and the Tower of London from the window.
One of the best London view. Amazing atmosphere and service.
Amazing coffee and delicious waffles!
Many thanks to the Italian waiter (from Piemonte) who took good care of me and my friend.
Had a table booked there not long ago. The staff was great, food was great and the view was out of this world! I cannot wait to go back again!
Very good breakfast. Been twice. Quality and service is consistently good. Strongest Americano in London: perfectly brewed, no doubt no bitterness or acidity but closer to an Americano-sized espresso. Awesome views and turbo-lift ride. A far better alternative to Fenchurch. I aim to become a regular.
Never disappoints. Actually loves the duck and waffle.
I would say that food is delicious. Unfortunately, the host just pull down the grade and experience for restaurant!!
Even we got the reservation on website and arrive in advance. They just tell us to wait and totally ignore us until we told servers twice and host again after almost an hour and they just like we are busying now you sure you told me and confirmed with me before?!
To sum up, I would tell friend yeh, you can go to enjoy the food but not the services.
Super views from this place and great tasting food. I highly recommend it.
Simply amazing food & view! The duck and waffle is a must try. Note that the waffle can be made gluten free upon your request! The sea bass is also really good and full of flavour!
Very good duck and waffles, so their name works out. Their eggs were soft and moist and service was good. They took a while to give us our check, though. Make sure you reserve ahead of time
I went to Duck & Waffle with my team from work, 5 of us had a table book for 4pm (although I'm told this place is open 24/7). The first thing that catches your attention, especially if your not keen of heights, is the ascent to the 40th floor via the super-rapido glass elevator. wow
Being seated at a big round table the place feels relaxed and informal with people sharing plates of food and big dishes. This is also reflected in the menu which takes a little getting used to. Forget about any formal 3 course meal with people having there own dishes - generally you order for the table & everyone digs. This was initially a concern for one of our party who was particularly hungry, but the staff were friendly & helped explain things.
We were there just before Christmas & the place was fully booked with large parties. That said the service still seemed reasonable, yes they were busy but we we're forgotten about after we order & the food arrived quickly. The only negative was that I completely stuff afterward, I'd completely over eaten & should not have gone for the dessert. My fault, but it wasn't help by the fact that all the dishes were so rich - be it the ox cheek doughnut or the maple syrup poured of duck legs & waffle - this is pig out food.
Great for the glass elevator ride up to the 40th floor, fab views of the city, lively atmosphere, the sommelier (if you like your wine) & very rich super tasty, everyone shares whats on the table food.
Terrible experience from the start, the guy at the door was so rude we never will go back.
Dress code is a bit silly considering how nice it is, but I guess they're trying hard to be cool. You're paying for the view and the exclusivity, but everything is overpriced.
Magnificent view of London from the restaurant. Do you pay for the view. The small dishes and starters are very good but the main dishes are disappointed.
It was fine, but not exceptional. Expensive, as expected, with very small portions. No non-alcoholic drinks menu for Sunday morning breakfast. Staff friendly and happy to make recommendations and take photos.
Just stopped for a (pricey) drink and to catch the views.
Amazing view, delicious food. The duck and waffle and the octopus was definitely my favourite.
The duck and waffle is good. Crispy and juicy, the duck. With a nice view of the city.
Definitely an experience, if not for the food, then at least for their creative cocktails. The elevator ride up is quite breathtaking, but the views are not as spectacular as from the Sky garden for example. The restaurant is lovely, but I didn't really get why everyone raves about the duck and waffle... The desserts however were out of this world. The wine was delicious and smooth, and the octopus dish was mouth watering.
Duck and waffle is definitely worth a visit, but maybe try another dish from the menu. And definitely have dessert!
View is great, food is good, decor is better in Sushi Samba in my opinion
Can't fault the food - try the excellent juicy whole chicken (to share) and of course the signature duck & waffle. I found the staff and atmosphere a bit stuffy.
This is a great place to take a date, especially one who is not a London local - the food is decent and decent price but not cheap, the drink is very good but expensive and the view is amazing. Open 24 hours so go for sunrise or sunset and enjoy astonishing views and almost certain rewards afterwards from your lady.
They serve amazing brunch and I ve recently tried also lunch. For brunch you need to do the reservation a week or two upfront, probably even more for weekend but for lunch we were able to get a good slot on Friday only a day beforehand.
The food is really nice and cocktails top notch. The views are also amazing so this is a good place for a date or birthday celebration.
There are larger round tables with sofas which would be suitable for families with kids. I saw a few babies in baby chairs as well although we chose to leave our toddler in daycare to be able to enjoy the experience better.
Overall experience is so good that I ll come back again.
Nice place for Breakfast.. Has a really nice view too!
Great place to have drinks! Excellent view. Highly recommended!
Wasn t let in because I was wearing shorts... just wanted a nice meal after walking around sightseeing in the city. Didn t realize I should ve been wearing a suit all day. Not sure if I looked too poor or if the bouncer didn t like my American accent? Either way not spending my money here.
Honestly not worth the time and money. You have better options in London. If you have named your restaurant as duck and waffle , your customers will expect good duck to be served on the plate. The duck that we had is very dry and didn t taste much. Waffle was so so. The egg was not running when you cut it. The view is not the amazing neither. Not sure why they also said they are fully booked. The restaurant was not full the whole time we were there. It s the tourist trap that you should avoid.
Mix and match dishes was amazing, the taste is completely illegal and saying bad ~ ~ super like reservation, remember to book yo ~
I should have guessed the sort of place this was when I approached the door, finding a rope in front of it and someone with a clipboard. After explaining that I had booked to two separate people within the first 5m of the door, I was duly patted down and went up in the lift. Nice lift. Nice view.
At the top , we were left waiting to be served. Not a great issue. Nice view etc.
Our waiter was attentive, but seemed to find it impossible to confirm if the small dishes are meant to be a tapas alternative to the main, or a starter. Apparently it depends how hungry you are. Useful.
Imagine making a waffle, adding a duck to the side, and slapping an egg on top. That's the signature dish. Nice lift. Nice view.
Came here for the view, not the food. Too bad it was foggy.
Dont tell them their cocktails taste like sewage or they'll switch on the bodycams!
If nothing else is open, this place is a pretty close second to eating your own nasal hair. Unfortunately I ran out.
Food wasn't spectacular considering the reputation. Over priced and I only really enjoyed the view.
This restaurant was extremely disappointing!
We came here for my sister's birthday and looked forward to the food as heard great things about this place. Apart from the lovely view overlooking London and the decor which were beautiful, nothing else impressed me. The duck was raw - I'm a medium rare steak type of person and so would know when something is raw rather than just cooked medium. We asked the waiter to check and complained about the raw food, but instead of providing us with good customer service and at least acknowledging the mistake, the waiter and manager both were rude about it and were adamant that's how it was supposed to be cooked. The food wasn't even the part that annoyed me the most, it was the terrible customer service and lack of care in how they treated us that made it worse. Would not return and wouldn't recommend.
The best part about this place was the view and the elevator ride and even that was ruined by fog on the outside of the windows. The menu was decent, portion sizes small considering the price however this is gourmet food. Entrees are More
Great! I tried the signature duck and waffle. Sceptical initially.. sounds weird.. but it was heavenly! The only downside was getting a reservation in the first place. Stunning views going up the tower make it an experience to remember
Quick tip: Brunch reservations are easier to make than dinner ones.
All in all, I would say it is experience over succulent on the table substance but the view and ambience completed an experience that certain restaurants down on earth cannot quite compare to. To paraphrase a quote by my brunch bud of the day, Everything is better 40 floors up overlooking london city . The duck egg en cocotte and duck and waffle were good but I'm not sure if there was much else on the menu that sounded particularly appealing. The PB & J wasn't really all that special - the only difference between it and the kind I make in my kitchen being it costing 8GBP, brioche instead of white bread and clotted cream on the side.
Food was good.
Great view
Overpriced
This restaurant is really about the experience. That includes the ride in the lift
