What a disgusting experience. Not deserve even a star.
If you are colored, you should avoid going there.
For reference, I am Asian definitely and went with Mom during my visit in UK.
Visited this restaurant early in the morning tough I just had checked cancellation message as I could not confirm it. So I had to wait for about 30-40 min finally a waitress showed us into the table in the middle of hall. Actually this restaurant is famous for its view on 40th floor so a bit disappointed but accepted.
After a while, 2 whites at the right corner of window seat, requested to move them to another central window seat so they changed their table. Therefore, we thought the table where they had been to be empty now so asked availability. A waitress answered will check and revert then never came back. And another waitress answered like in a glance'no. the seat is requested by other customer'. Hello? we just saw two guys just moved? But we did not insist strongly as we do not want to ruin the whole day from the start. Then the other white couple in the aisle seat just moved their table to window one and right after that 2 Asians newly came and of course served to seat in the aisle seat where the couple were.
Are you going to say this is my total misunderstanding just happened by accident?
The food taste normal apart from egg smelled sickly. Also duck was too dry and overcooked. Waffle, not impressed. Surely too expensive compared to qualities. The price includes the view but if you are colored, you have got to pay it without having it.
Racism does not only mean direct abuse or physical violence. This kind of undefined behaviour is obviously racism.
Before the trip, I searched for reservations on the Internet by introducing acquaintances, but the most suitable reservation time is 7:30am, so I made a reservation because it was impossible.
And while I was checking my e-mail on my cell phone the day before my reservation, I came across a message stating that the reservation was cancelled. It is in accordance with the internal regulation that if the reservation is not confirmed 24 or 48 hours before, it will be canceled, and because I was traveling overseas, I was using a local SIM chip and could not receive the phone call specified in the previous reservation. I tried calling more than 10 times from the moment I checked the message to the morning of the reservation day, but I couldn't reach it. I got up early in the morning anyway and prepared it, so I arrived at the restaurant on time.
As per the message, the reservation was canceled, and I asked for information if there was an vacant seat or a seat where the reservation was canceled. He was informed that a seat was available over time and was assigned a seat in the middle of the hall, and he said he had to empty the table within 50 minutes because there was another reservation. Contrary to what I expected inside, there were a few empty tables, so I was disappointed that it would have been if I had given up a seat in advance, but I was satisfied with the seat and ordered a meal even though the reservation was cancelled.
As you heard, it was a glass restaurant on the 40th floor, so the view toward the window looked very good. When the seats in the center window finished their meals and left, two white people in the right corner said they would move to the center and the corner window seat was emptied. Lost. I thought that it was possible to move the seat, so I inquired about the move to server 1, but he did not return or gave an answer, so I asked another server to move again. I have a reservation, so I can't.' I was a little offended because I saw a guest sitting there a few minutes ago, but I just gave up moving from a seat in the middle of the hall because I felt that the right to speak was weakened enough to be assigned a table with a canceled reservation. However, when the other window seats were emptied, a white couple sitting in the middle of another hall asked to move to the window seat, and immediately approved and witnessed the move. Although this white couple came a long time later than us. I was offended and soon two other Asian guests came in, and I saw the white couple being guided to a seat in the middle of the hall. I felt like a chimney to ask if it was racial discrimination, but it seemed too clear to answer that I had no choice but to protest because I had already ruined the day from the morning, and that it was a guest whose reservation was canceled until I protested. It's just spoiling the day at the restaurant I visited.
Racial discrimination You have to speak up and commit violence, but it's not racial discrimination. I think this invisible racism actually accounts for most of the racism that occurs around us.
The restaurant was located on the 40th floor to enjoy the view, and the food wasn't good enough. The taste comes to mind when you think about what it tastes like if you eat it with waffles/duck meat/fried. The duck egg wasn't fresh or it was fishy. Duck egg en cocotte is a taste of food that gets tired of just tax.
It was known that it was possible to have a fairly decent meal at a reasonable price compared to a good view, but the good outlook seems limited only to some people, the meal wasn't impressed, and if you think about London prices, the level of 60,000 won for two people is average. Expensive to pay for breakfast, and the service was disgusting.
