We went on Sunday after Thanksgiving. The tree wasn't lit by that time but other decorations were quite a pleasure for the eye. The ice skating ring in the middle of the buildings, the lights and decorated Christmas trees, the crowd, the princess themed decoration on the next block, all were splendid! We also went up to the observation deck(Top of the Rock). You have access upto three floors and you can see the entire new york all lit up including the Empire State Building from there.

Love Rockefeller Center, especially during the holiday season! It does tend to get busy but it truly is a magical place. The shops, the decor and the fact that you can go skating are the few staples as to why we love going every year. Normally crowds aren t our thing, but we continue to go because of the magic!

Rockefeller center is a great place. It has a ice skating ring which is wide popular, and off course with Christmas the big tree here is the most popular and featured in many movies.
Being in New York it is a must see on your trip here and feel the atmosphere. There are some great shops around here as well and below there is even a small shopping mall.

A magnificent architectural and cultural landmark. Breathtaking in so many ways; the buildings themselves, the artwork and sculptures, the historical photographs, the studios, the Top of the Rock observation deck, the shops, the skating rink... It's a city unto itself and an Art Deco masterpiece. Whether you are a tourist, in NYC on business, or a lifelong New Yorker you will find much to delight in in Rockefeller Center.

There is so much to do at Rockefeller Center, it should not be missed on any trip to NYC. There are many restaurants downstairs or go to the "Top of the Rock." It has some of the best views of the city. And during the holidays you can go ice skating outside.

It's free to take pictures from the outside, and it's landmark building, so it gets 5 stars. Go to the top of the staircase for the best selfie. More interesting than Times Square (I don't know what the big deal about Times Square is).

So amazing how fast they changed the look. We were there on nov 1. Saw pumpkins, fall foliage. Went back the next day to discover the transformation was now all green with tall shrubs. That's planning.

It was early on a late summer Sunday morning so not very busy like everywhere the night before. But it was a great place to grab a bench with some food from the bakery across the street (?Bouchon? I think) and relax for a while. The area was gorgeous, was a great place to people watch with tourists from everywhere taking pictures, daydream what it's like when there is an ice rink instead of tables, and think about what it's like when the Today show has events in the area. And of course take a selfie with the Prometheus statue and fountains in the background.

Built in the 1930's, the Rockefeller Center is home to some of the world's most well-known businesses and attractions. Attractions such as the Rockefeller Christmas Tree and the Top of the Rock viewing decks should definitely be on the list to see for both locals and travellers.

Lots of outside food to choose from. As well as indoor. On a day id recommend coming out and enjoying all of the food choices. Its highly unlikely that you will not find something you'd like. By the way when December comes around be sure to see the tree lighting

It was pretty busy for a Friday afternoon. But costly parking and very expensive eateries! But beautiful sights outside, especially St Patrick's cathedral was a breathtaking place of worship.

Of course top of the rock is a tourist attraction but it was very nice to have a lounge with couches and two decks. The story was nicely explained and you have enough time to read it before going up.

Staff was very friendly.

Who doesn't love this place?! As a crazy New Jersey person, I try to visit the city every year to see the tree and windows. Tourists who have never been, be prepared to stand in mobs of sidewalk traffic. Well worth it though. Be sure to see the store windows past the tree, especially Bergdorf Goodman! And you can always go to the top of the rock! Something I have yet to do. Also, view the light show across the street on Saks. Always awesome.

NYC during the holidays. Hi energy, festive activities. Plenty, plenty to do. Shopping, eating, drinking, ice skating, sight seeing, people everywhere! Very easy to have fun and be in the holiday spirit.

This is a great place to come visit with family or friends. It s gorgeous and has many nice stores and places to eat around there. The top of the Rock tour is near here and is a gorgeous tour that I also recommend. From the top you can get a view of Central Park. Around Christmas time this place is crowded but it s still absolutely beautiful. The Christmas tree is what people come to see in December, along with the Macy s window light show.

Intriguing history into the centre itself, the people who brought it in to being, and the reasons behind all the architectural and artistic choices. The tour is an absolute must, delivered by fantastic staff.

Whether your a tourist or local, this is THEplace to see if your in New York. Beautiful in all seasons, ice skating in the winter. Can be enjoyed on a rainy day (inside) or a sunny. Take trip to rooftop for great pictures

A great experience! Going to the Rockefeller Center was probably one of my favorite things I did on my trip to New York. I ate at some restaurant down in he place where the ice rink is in winter, but I forgot the name. Either way, the food and staff were great, and it was a great experience eating dinner right next to the fountain. The next evening I went to the Top of the Rock observation deck, which you HAVE TO GO TO! It has an outstanding view of New York from al angles. One level had glass, but an upper level doesn t. At the upper level it will be crowded, so remember to be patient, and maybe go a bit early. I recommend going right before sunset, so you can stay for pictures during the day, sunset, and night. Honestly, I would see pictures of New York online that were taken from there, but I thought it had to have been taken in a helicopter or something. Absolutely gorgeous view.

After recently getting married and adjusting to life with my husband, I was missing my Sister ~Friends! We decided to take a Red Eye to NYC!! We had a blast taking in the sights and enjoying conversations with the people of the city!! We were pleasantly surprised by the hospitality we received!! We rode uptown and downtown on the subway and didn't get lost!! We navigated Chinatown and Italian Village and found all kinds of treasures!! I can truly say...I New York!!

The Rockefella building is a beautiful building and is worth looking around even if you don't go to the observation deck. To walk around the lobby and lower level shops is free and the top of the rock is paid for separately. We intended to just go up on the night time as we had already done the one tower during the day but as we ordered the tickets the booth asked if we wanted to upgrade to a stars and sky ticket. Now be wary of this as it didn't give a price until you selected it and then it adds it when you view the upgrade, I then noticed there was no way to remove it so pressed the back button which removed the add-on and put the price back to normal. The issue was after making the pay me the ticket had still been upgraded and charged for it! We decided as we were both undecided that we would do both just so we could get an idea of both the day and nightlife shots and we were glad we did as you couldn't see any of central park or the river during the night time. Still I was annoyed with the system, there is a photo opp (paid) on a green screen Sat on a girder like the Skywalker photo which most people walked past and after that a screen telling you all about the Rockerfella Xmas tree and the building itself which is quite interesting. Also on the elevator the ceiling is glass and there is a light show on the way up and down. Once at the viewing platform there ate 3 levels which you can go on, the first time we spent a while on the bottom level before I looked up and saw people on the next level up. I then realised there was a top level without the glass which gave the best views reflection free! Obviously the next day we went straight up to the top level and got some amazing pics, the night time was also a lot busier than the daytime and you.did have to wait to get a spot at the wall. Overall it was well worth the trip and one of the highlights of the holiday.

Nice to experience any time of the year. Most especially around the holidays. Extremely busy but you're patience dealing with the masses will be greatly rewarded with fantastic memories and photos.

We had a fab time taking photos, and enjoying our family bonding time while taking in the majestic views of the entire New York City from this historic tower. We've also watched a few brief videos and learned some interesting tidbits of the building history, culture progress and growth of the city. Good times...

I walk through the concourse on my way to work. Always busy, but pleasant to walk through. I'll even stop for breakfast if I have time. Great place to stop and see the people skating in the rink!

Love coming here in winter! So magical and exciting. It s fun to watch the people skating in the center and that tree! Wow what a tree. Make sure to stop by just so you can get a picture of it with your loved ones! The Lego store is right in the complex to so that s always fun to visits! We look forward to coming back.

Such a beautiful place to visit. Definitely visit it when in New York. Great location. It is always busy due to the location and place. Great place for photography. Easy access from public transportation. Plenty of restaurants around here.

This is such an amazing place to go to and enjoy this incredible skyscraper! It is an historical place that you can't miss! I love it because of the ice skating rink, also stores and restaurants in the area and because you can actually take breathtaking pictures. You can also visit NBC studios there as well as the NBC studios shop. There are numerous things to do in this block. Highly recomend!

Christmas done as only NYC can. Cops were great, helpful they let us take pictures with them. Gave it a 4 because it was difficult to find food after 7pm. Turned away by many an establishment. That and no public bathrooms or benches which made it difficult for our party.

Pretty awesome experience. A big tourist attraction but is definitely worth the lines and the wait if you are in the area. The view is incredible and I'm glad to have had the chance to see it with the family.

Beautiful during the holidays. Wonderful, quality family time.....despite cold temperatures seeing the smiles on their little faces and hearing the laughter makes it all worth while. Choose your time to visit wisely, its still crowded but not as crowded if you choose correctly. Wonderful memories and family traditions!!

Cool place to visit and I highly recommend going to see a live taping. Saw a taping of the Tonight Show and it was really fun. Also, the chairs for the audience are super comfy. Make sure to use the bathroom while waiting in the peacock lounge because you cant leave the studio once inside.

Very crowded place but very nice. It's in the heart of NYC, it's full of life everyday. The basement is full of stores and restaurants, and there is the subway stop too, very comfortable. Stunning atmosphere at Christmas time, the Christmas tree is huge and famous all over the world, the ice rink is very nice but a little bit overpriced.

Beyond packed during the holidays but still a must Christmas visit destination. Please keep small children and strollers away during peak times, 4:45 PM to 8;00 PM as the crowd is crushing and the smaller kids will see nothing but legs and bumped heads. Parking is nill walking in is your best bet.

It's one of NYC's biggest landmarks (especially during holiday season, with the ice rink and the giant Christmas tree), but honestly? Unless you're super into shopping (which I'm not), or want to go ice skating (in a smallish, overcrowded rink, with a long line to get in), there isn't much to do here. The architecture is gorgeous, but you won't spend more than 10, 15 min, tops, looking at it. A place you cross while going somewhere else.

The 3 stars is simply for the view once you finally get to the top. There were no directions on where to go when you first walk and the place is massive so we walked around for abit before we had to ask someone. We qued for around 30 minutes even though wed already paid via a city pass. We then had to walk out and go back in the way we had already started which was odd. The whole thing was rushed and packed! We missed the photo bit as we wasnt interested. We then went into another section where you waited in 3 long ques and there was a video playing. There was a grumpy man waiting at the end of the ques waiting to lead us through. He didnt smile and although he was a security guard there definitely thought he was some kind of police officer and definitely what we call a jobs worth!!! We were then leaded to another bit where we qued again to get into lifts. We then qued again and made our way to the top. We missed sunset due to the long waits but the view was amazing. Me and my boyfriend were up there for ay least an hour taking photos and just looking down. When we finally left the queuing started again to get back down which again... took a while
The empire state which we did in the day was much more of an experience from start to finish and the staff were very professional. I felt compared to that they were just interested in the money and getting us in and out. I would recommend this if in New York. It might not be like this all the time.. this is just my experience. I would definitely leave Rockefeller for the night time experience and views as like I say, empire is more of an experience from start to finish so glad we did it that way round. Maybe staff should think about creating more of an experience for tourists. We travelled 8 hours from England to New York and this is something I was really looking forward to. Thought it would be more like empire. As I say 3 starts and that's simply for the view.

First time I went here was after Christmas and it looked just like it does in films with Christmas trees, decorations and ice skaters. It is a bit different in the summer!

Plenty to do here, and it covers a wide area. Great places to eat; fresh food and drinks to buy; great shopping; and plenty of seating just to sit and watch the world go by! There's Radio City and NBC studios so you can see where TV shows are filmed. Give yourself plenty of time to take it all in!

Awesome building and we had a terrific tour guide. He was enthusiastic, very informative. He told us so much of the history of the design and the decor. We saw the place they put the Rockerfeller Christmas Tree, the skating rink. It was fabulous. The Top of the Rock veiw is the best. Their staff were friendly and helpful to point out buildings you were looking for

Incredible views on a nice day!
Better than the Empire State Building or Freedom Tower as closer to Central Park and you can see the other 2 historic buildings!!!

Stopped here as tree was going up. Cool too see it in progress. Was my first time seeing it and definitely will be back to see the tree once its lit. Obviously great tourist spot to stop and see. If you are in shops below can be tricky to find your way up top to the tree but it's basically a big square. Keep walking until you find stairs. I walked past post office and then up to a lobby.

One of the old classic tourist attractions in NYC; which it definitely stands up with the hype! As a local - I don't think you have seen the city with out coming to Rockefeller... It's a must!

Obviously it is at his prime during winter months but there are plenty of 5 star restaurants down below (underground) and in the surrounding blocks; that you can visit in the summer.

I highly recommend going up the rock as it gives you the best view! View includes Central Park, Empire State Building, Time Square, and the Freedom Tower.

The Rockefeller Christmas Tree is breathtaking! An absolute must see if you're in New York during the Christmas period. The Rockefeller center itself is also worth a visit along with Top of the Rock. One of the best views of Manhattan.
