Tourist attraction for sure, but still kind of fun...
Tourist attraction for sure, but still kind of fun for locals on occasion.
Tourist attraction for sure, but still kind of fun for locals on occasion.
Very festive and decked out, especially during the holiday season. Theres a light show nearby and the tree itself is pretty big. Very packed though, you'll have to squeeze throughout the place because of the amount of people.
The view from the top of the rock looking back down on Manhattan and the empire state building is fantastic
Especially at Night,absolutely Magic
It had been so many years since I saw the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center and my daughter has been wanting to see it, so we took a quick trip for a few days. Something about the tree is quite magical and it was not as crowded as I had thought it would be, although we did not ice skate this trip we will make plans for that next time around, I just love the energy and excitement one direction Rockefeller Center at Christmas.
Great example of Art Deco design. Outstanding open space. Classic NYC.
We had a nice day with very clear sky it was exceptionally beautiful to look around.
Top of the Rock is definitively worth visiting, the view is breath taking. VIP pass is worth every penny, otherwise you will have to be more than an hour standing I line.
Heart of New York! Always my favorite place to go during Christmas!
Fantastic views from the top, great angles from all sides, top viewing point not open due to high winds. It still had a great time
Worth visiting, nice landmark. In winter there is an ice ring outside. Be sure to check the inside and the top of the rock. It gives you a stunning view on the surrounding buildings.
Its a landmark. Good ambience but a bit reminiscent of a time when the world wasnt too equal. That being said - Rockefeller's contribution to education was legendary and as such this makes the spot more special to visit.
I love every corner. Great options for dining and I absolutely recommend the Observatory and the tour. Great pieces of art and history
Buitifull and crowded during Holydays. Amazing windows decorations at Saks and Bergdorf Goodman. Very worth to see.
Enjoyed our visit wish had more time there. Plan to return
Nice place although very expensive. So be ready to spend lots of if you want to go there. There are more beautiful and cheaper places to drink ir eat or free places to go in NY for a stroll
It's a small ice skating rink right now, the light and waterfall where on. The today show is right their and you can look in. You can see NBC just down the road.
So much fun walking around. We bought our lunch at a nearby food truck ( here in NYC food truck food is the best) and took it down to the Rockefeller's center concours. Had a super yummy lunch at a great price and people watched at the same time.
The Rockefeller is an icon in New York City. The building complex itself is built by the legendary Rockefeller family during the great depression. It's the location where the TV show '30 Rock' takes place, it's the home of the world's most famous skate rink and defintely the most famous Christmas tree... It's a must see but getting around can be a real pain (especially during winter holidays).
It looks really great at night with all the Christmas lighting.
One of the many heartbeats of New York. I'm a native New Yorker I traveled abroad as a military officer and when I was retired I return back to New York.. I love being a tourist in my own City
Great place to go if you want a great tour and a great view. Staff was amazing and very cooperative. The NBC Tour was fun and put in perspective how wide angle lenses and perspective can make something seem so large. The Top of the Rocks was fun to do and led to some amazing photos of the skyline of NYC. I would definitely recommend for anyone touring NYC or just visiting.
The best view over Manhattan is at Top of the Rock in Rockefeller Center. You have a clear and wide view over NYC. You can see the Empire State Building, Chrysler Building and on a clear day you even can see One World Trade Center. At the other side you have a nice view over Central Park and it's surroundings. Enjoy the beautiful skyline and buy your tickets upfront so you don't have to wait.
We had our view at the morning and there was still some fog. We returned at the evening to see New York by night and all the magical lights. My next video will be Top of the Rock by night time. Make sure to come back :)
You want to see our video check out my y outube FilipG Thank you for watching!
Nice observatory to get the glimpse of High rise of New York City.
So much to see and experience here. So much history in the heart of NYC. GO on the Rock center tour and watch The Men Who Built America on YouTube. That's more history than you can stand.
An ancient building very beautifully constructed! Amazing sight
Great tour around Rockefeller plaza and the observation deck is fabulous
Best to pre-purchase tickets that have a specified time and date otherwise they may refuse entry if you just walk in. At the top it gets very crowded at sunset, especially on the side with views of Empire state building. The views at amazing, it s a shame that a new high rise is being built on the Central park viewing side as it s blocking what would have been an even greater view of the park.
It's the first time that I had been there, and I just proposed to my future wife there.
I recently proposed to my fiance at the ice skating rink. The staff were all so accommodating, friendly, helpful and truly made this a night we will always remember. Thank you all so much!
We we're here on Memorial Day and the sight was so amazing. With more than a 1000 people celebrating the day with a rock band performance, it was glorious to be there.
It was lovely, it was beautiful. I went on a Christmas date there during the day on the day after the tree went up .
Was there for Christmas Day and the rockets Christmas show. It was beautiful. This was 2018.
Amazing place to visit. Can be combined with Times Square and Central Park when in NY. Visit also 65 sky-bar on the main building for a drink and amazing view in the city!!
Rockefeller Centre has a coffee kiosk that sells Ralph Lauren coffee. That was something different.
MY TREE!!!! This was my Christmas present from my daughter & her husband. I have wanted to go for at least 25 years. I live in Western NY. My walking ability is waning, and I now use a walker. They figured I better get there before I no longer can. Even with all the people, I could still move around with my walker. The tree was everything I thought it would be.
Went here 10 years ago and this year went to ESB .. Think both have their merits but preferred the whole experience of ESB
Rockefeller Centre is an historical place in New York City. Going to the top at sunset is a fantastic way to see the city and all its beauty. However it is very crowded at that time. Enjoy your visit at Rockefeller Center. Easy to access and good security
A littlw bit uncomfortable if it's raining we had a rainy and windy day bit was so spectacular to see the Saks Fitfth Ave. Show , and the traditional Rockefeller center christmas tree we also had dinner at DeFrisco's Grill restaurant, wich i highly recommend!!
The place is almost magical. Folks were ice skating in the light rain without a care in the world. It seemed everyone there couldn't keep the smiles off their face.
It was immaculately clean and so well lit that our pictures looked as if we took them in the daytime.
It was well worth the 18 minute walk from the Empire State Building and it is a must see for visitors to the NYC area. We loved it!
We entered the building from the subway into a shopping complex which looked very posh. We got our tickets from here and headed up a few floors where there was lots of displays with history of the building and you got your photo taken the next lift took us to the top. Great views of Central Park and Empire State Building. Try to go up early evening for sunset and switch on of lights.
Iconic & historical....enjoyed it more when old NYC was in my memory as a kid from Queens.
Brilliant view from the rock
Great breakfast as well
Brilliant place
Coming from Hawaii, it was such an awesome experience to be at a location that you see in the movies.
Definitely deserves the reputations ot has! Very clean(somehow) and always has tons to do no matter the age! Worth checking out at some point in your life
Came to see the christmas tree here recently. I work nearby and the place is always packed during the holidays. Best bet to see it without a crazy crowd is in the morning. At night they turn it off but there are still people hanging around. But if you do come at night. Best to enter from the sides not directly from the avenues. There are also a lot of shops and some underground food shops. You could probably cut to the tree from the walking area underneath and beat most of the tourists.
Another must see. Go to Top of the Rock for some of the best views of the city.
Place is vibrant during Xmas time IE to say from Thanks Giving to New year. Must visit during this time period. Add it to your bucket list.
Incredible walk through a beautiful snow squall... big floppy flakes, gorgeous trumpeting Angel's, Nd ahead that gorgeous tree thru a haze of snow. Thank you God!
Fabulous view from the 65th floor where you can get cocktails. We were advised against eating there but on reflection worth it for the amazing view. If you are only having cocktails you cannot reach the edge of the room so don't get such a good view
This was a really cool place to visit. We had a great view of many famous sites and landmarks.
Best time in New York City is Rockefeller Center at Christmas. This is a top bucket list location.
You should go there early to get a ticket for the time you want to go there! I would always go there to watch the sunset, it s amazing!
Great view, well organized, visiting scheduled by hours so no need to wait in line or be to crowded.
When you see it, you can't really give it any lower than 5 stars. Looking at this tree, with family if you get the chance, is a 5 star view.
Rockefeller Center aka Rock Center is a must-stop for any tourist or locals for pics especially during the winter holidays. there are always crowds especially during the day and when the area is decorated for the holidays during the evening.
awesome backdrops, ice skating (expensive), high-end shopping nearby as well as a lot of the branded stores, so many restaurants, and close to St. Patrick's Cathedral, FAO Schwartz, etc. of course, you have to see the TREE (from Nov - Jan), take in the views from Top of the Rock, take an NBC tour and so much more to do in the area for tourists and locals.
things can be fairly pricy in the area if you're eating, shopping etc. but i think it's worth it if you are in NYC and up for spending time in the area...and not just snapping Instagram pics.
and if the weather gets bad, you can always go underground into the Rock Center Concourse which is a network of stores, casual eateries, and more etc. connected to the subway underground.
the area has many subway and bus options...taxis and Uber/Lyft/etc. have a tougher time bc of traffic. opt for public transportation if you can.
drops mic cuz i am all rocked out
Very impressive. Our guide was very enthusiastic and most entertaining. I would never have imagined the Center comprised of so many buildings. And the artwork...amazing. we took the tour at around 5pm, so finished before dusk. Watching the sunset from the top is an unforgetable experience. Just one thing...there are plenty of seats up there and yet many people actually sit on the window sills obscurring the views. This problem really needs sorting.
Great place to visit when visiting the city that naver sleeps.
Perfect City view and good possibility to make great pictures from Manhatten!
Loved our visit and cannot wait to go back for our next visit. Felt very safe and really enjoyed it.
Majestic place. Go every yesterday with my entire family.
Rock center, the tree, sacks all decorated with chanting Christmas lights.perfect.
Visit area every year. Radio City is always a must at Cheistmas.
A must do attraction to do in NYC. I found the best time was at night. The city comes alive. We found using the city pass saved us so much money and were able to go at a more convenient time. Plus at night after 8pm, there is barely a line to get up to the top of the building
This place is beautiful . The security is tight and helpful . I had some trouble locating my girlfriend and her working place . I was effectively directed to the correct area . I didnt feel like I was wasting anyone's time with my questions and I appreciate that.
If you've never been to Rockefeller Center...it's a must! And if you really want to be WOW-ed, go during the holidays. Between the Xmas tree, the amazing iconic holiday store windows, and the throngs of festive spectators, your holiday spirit will hit % joyful jolly! I'm a long time New Yorker, and even my small heart grows three sizes when I'm there!
Rockefeller Center is getting ready for the HOLIDAYS AND THEY REALLY DO A FANTASTIC JOB IT'S WORTH THE TIME WITH THE FAMILY!
This was great as it was getting dark and to see the lights of New York was an amazing experience highly recommended
Great place to visit for NYC tourists. Cool Lego store and FAO Schwartz is back so bring the kids!
The views here are beautiful, with there not being much of a crowd when I visited.
We loved the iconic skating rink and took some photos there. We did a lot of window shopping, some actual shopping at Tiffany, and had some coffee and hot chocolate at Godiva. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful.
Had lots of fun, learning, love the whole experience.
Only managed to see the outside of this building but still spectacular
I am in love with this place. This is so beautiful especially during Christmas and New year. Mesmerizing beauty. Felt like heaven with angles standing there. View from the top is good too, to see big buildings such as Empire states building. If wanna see big building from outside, Rockefeller centre top view is highly recommended .
Ohhh , super super super place. Visit once you will not forget that memories lifetime. Visit once in life here. I am little lucky to get visit this place wit my friend.
Great family tradition, Rockefeller Center, FAO Schwarz, Macy's holiday windows, and the Rockettes.
Nice place to visit even as a New Yorker. A bit over priced, especially for the break with Santa, the portions are just right.
This place is lively and the atmosphere is great! It's a few min. Walk from Grand Central station. We went in February and the ice skating rink was still up. There's a legos and Nintendo store here along with other name brand shops. There's lots of shops in the Rockefeller buildings, so feel free to go in and browse around!
So glad we went for the tree lighting but I'll not go again....too many people. Everyone should go at least once for this NY City tradition. I'm definitely a once and done but it was FUN!!
The Rockefeller center in Christmas is one of the best places to visit full of energy, the Christmas tree, the music etc..
A must do when you are in New York. I loved the place and the surroundings
I have been here quite a few times both daytime and night. I can never get bored of the view it offers. Very well organized place, crowd is managed brilliantly. Doesn't take too much time for you to go up and come back down probably an hour or so.
Super cool and OG in it's class love this place skates are bit worn out but it's not that bad
I love to go to the main N.Y. Christmas tree! Now it's our yearly tradition.
It s a historical landmark for sure but the crowds during the holiday season make one want to vomit. I ve never seen a place so packed, so confused, so stifling. Melting to death outdoors in December because of all the people!
But seriously, it s a bit of a tourist trap. See it at least once, but avoid it after if you re trying to have a good time.
Great tours. But NO place to sit and too few restrooms.
A great place to visit!! Especially, around the Christmas Holidays!! And there a few other places to visit nearby!! Like St. Patrick's Cathedral, NBC Studio, Five Guys Burgers, & Nintendo Store!! Just to name a few!!
This was beautiful to see in person! Still skating in mid-March, beautiful shops, so many things to see and do in the surrounding area! Fifth Ave, Lego, American Girl, Radio City Music Hall, Top of the Rock to name a few!
Wonderful experience in such a busy place. Shops around special again everyone in Manhattan so kind and helpful to us
