Room. stayed in a suite that has 1 tv remote between 2 televisions and no welcome pack, the info on the tv screen isn't adequate to get by. the room was clean needs a slight update decor wise. very comfortable bed, very basic bathroom and sundries.
Breakfast. was there 2 nights, and had 2 terrible experiences they have a table service not a buffet, as i'm someone who travels for business often i would avoid this hotel as you have no idea as to when you may be able to get away,I waited 30 minutes for my breakfast to arrive on morning 1 and when it arrived the plate was hot and that was about it and it was similar experiences for others in my party, granted the breakfast service was busy but the service was quieter the 2nd time around and the service the same. i have other issues with their breakfast but that's my own preferences
Facilities. there is an onsite pool unfortunately i didn't get the opportunity to use, there are two customer lifts that are quite small and occasionally wont move even if there are only 3 of you in the lift. there is a restaurant on site and 2 serving bars. there is a hotel car park that is easily accessible.
on one evening our party dined in the piano restaurant, we were the only diners in the restaurant all evening, the minimum time we waited for one of the meals to arrive was 45 minutes the last meal arrived 20 minutes later the food itself was ok but no explanation given for this bizarre service.
this isn't a budget hotel but is in an ideal location for central swansea but i will consider somewhere else until they can sort out there dining issues.
Booked as a b&b for one night, appreciate the covid thing however but was only told upon check in the bar was being served from reception so no atmosphere in the bar itself and breakfast was a so called grab and go brown bag with yoghurt and cereal bar and juice to eat in your room? No coffee or facility tho have one other than in room. Doubt we will return if I'm honest
Friendly staff , clean room, needs updating cannot complain the price is right
Great location, friendly staff and a lovely stay. Would definitely recommend.
It was ok nice big TV in room but no jacouse in spa I do like 1 berry relaxing
Comfortable with friendly and helpful service. Excellent value for money
Lovely stay in a central location. Very clean throughout the hotel. We stayed in a family room that had recently been refurbished & it had plenty of room. The hotel was quiet. Breakfast was substantial with a selection of items. Reception & Bar staff were welcoming & helpful. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the breakfast staff, they could hardly make eye contact or manage a smile. Will most certainly be returning.
rooms needs refurbishing and in Detail cleanup. Price to high for room Standards.
A fantastic hotel with kind, considerate and helpful staff. There is a lovely feel about the hotel - all staff with a smile on their face.
They were helpful with directions we required and were happy to suggest eateries in the area that were also fantastic.
The rooms were clean and ample and the breakfast very good.
All in all, our trip to Swansea was a one off - but we are contemplating returning because the area is very scenic and we now know the Hotel is ideal.
Note : They do have a car park at the rear of the hotel which is fine - make sure you are aware were it is as its not the most obvious turning.
Love the central location. Parking bit tight at times.
Comfortable and well equipped, with decent sized rooms (we were in some kind of executive or higher finish room).
The lifts are 3 people, so larger families might need to make sure they are on a lower floor.
Parking is a bit limited, but they can validate parking at the nearby NCP. Convenient for the city centre
Breakfasts are cooked fresh to order, which is always nice than buffets.
The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help.
We've had a lovely day thanks to the Dragon hotel and Groupon. Prosecco afternoon tea, facial in the spa and use of the facilities followed by a 3 course evening meal with wine. The staff are very accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. Hope that we can do this again.
Great price, right in the city centre with a gym and pool!
The hotel is located at the centre of the city. Suitable for business stay, the room was comfortable, clean and quiet. The WiFi connection was good to do work and listen to streaming music. Breakfast good but not exceptional.
Nice hotel, good rooms, good breakfast, excellent location. Has a lovely pool area
Lovely hotel only down fall extremely hot in room and window does not open ,aircon not very good loud so no sleep
The rooms were to my satisfaction, clean spacious and the staff were friendly.
Service was too notch!
Called ahead to check they catered for vegans and was told yes. I arrived and asked for vegan options in the bar and was told I should have given notice; when I said I booked vegan last week they said sorry, we weren't told and to make sure the restaurant knew for breakfast. At reception they pulled out my booking and said sorry yes you did tell us you were vegan. In the morning at breakfast they knew nothing about it and said can you make do with jam on your toast, then skipped out to the supermarket to pick up margarine and soya milk after I have an incredulous look. Reception also said if we wanted to use the sauna or gym to just pop by and pick up the key at any time, so when I popped by to pick up the key they said the gym shut two hours ago. Poor attitude all round and why couldn't the receptionist manage to pass a message to restaurant or bar re my booking? Room tired, a little tatty, but acceptable
Lovely 4 nights spotlessly clean and comfortable hotel .staff in the leisure pool very experienced and welcoming. Finally top Mark's for young lady called channel in the restaurant who we observed dealing so patiently with a very confused dementia suffering old lady calmly and respectfully helped her to her seat till her friend arrived who was desperately looking for her. Well done think you have another calling available to you in life .top hotel great food would most certainly stay again
Old building, need refurbishing. Good location. And friendly staff.
Lovely hotel
Lovely breakfast
Fantastic room massive bed and massive tv.
Staff was brilliant
One negative thing carpark full so come early to get space otherwise 10 out of 10
And well priced
Nice hotel. But not all its cracked up to be. Only good point is the free pool
Lovely friendly welcome by the receptionist shame you have to pay to park. Nice little health club. Great evening meal. Breakfast a little disappointing no salt and pepper in the pots and staff very keen to clear away
Got alot to be desired sorry people not alot to say about this place at all NO WHERE TO PARK OUTSIDE AS A SEVERALLY DISABLED PERSON NOT A GOOD PLACE AT ALL
Was clean and comfortable, but dated, the hotel photo was taken in the dark for a reason!
Attended for Christmas party, food cold small portions. Not recommended
Not happy with the hotel ...... The rooms were dirty with broken chairs and bed ..... You also have to pay for parking in their premises
Took some clients to the grand for lunch, how very disappointing the food was. Would have had better value and quality going for a Pub lunch. How sad to see the quality of food deteriorate to this level over the last few years. I hope they will improve, the staff were very friendly.
Room was small and not very clean when we complained we were moved but to an identical room on a higher floor thought me and my wife would go to the sauna together only to find that they are not mixed saunas but separate for male and female More
Had a 3 course meal to celebrate beaujolais day and thoroughly enjoyed
A nice hotel with very friendly and helpful staff, situated in walking distance of shops, bars and restaurants bar food and breakfast at the hotel is well presented and tastes lovely! Only downfall would be room was not as clean as would be expected, stains on furniture, walls, curtains and carpet and very dusty in certain areas also toilet wouldn't flush properly.
This place isn't amazing but it's also not particularly bad either. Check-in was friendly and efficient. The room was big and pretty well stocked. Wifi seemed pretty decent. Massive telly if you like that sort of thing (I don't). Toiletries good. Hairdryer supplied. No slippers (as expected) or shower cap (not as expected). Lighting in bathroom good. Nice large windows to the rooms themselves. Press the call button and the lift arrives (almost) instantly - take note, Curtain Hotel in Shoreditch. Hot water took a long time to reach anything approaching hot.
The rooms come with one of those phone handsets with free browsing and phone calls - when I headed out for dinner my phone was flat along with my spare portable battery (as you can tell, I like to be prepared for all eventualities) so this actually proved fairly useful as this was my first visit to Swansea.
The hotel itself is generally clean, but tired looking - carpets haven't been refreshed for a long time, ditto the paint on the walls - the aesthetic is all a little 'Linton Travel Tavern', but not in an ironic way. The staff all seemed friendly and welcoming. Dry cleaning was dirt cheap (boom boom) - next time I stay in Wales I might bring a load of laundry with me.
A very nice room, we had the standard suite which was very good, a sitting room, bathroom and bedroom very spacious. The hotel is right in the centre of Swansea and not far from the beach. The only thing that is missing is information about the area like which you get in other hotels.
Stayed here for one night and I was very happy with the room. Evening meal was sufficient. The breakfast service was a little slow but to a good standard.
Hotel was brilliant but double bed was 2 singles pushed together a real hate if mine when you pay for a double
Nice hotel, huge tv's in the rooms, good restaurant
Great location, right in the city centre. Modern, large and well appointed rooms.
A bit tired in places, but friendly local staff and a hearty breakfast.
Only there to drop someone off who was staying here.. All I can say is that it looked okay from the outside..
Good hotel downtown with gym and pool. Ok for business trip.
Great hotel room 1st class food great and staff helpful and friendly. Right in the town centre.
We stayed at the hotel on two stop over nights. The double glazing was next to useless as the windows would not shut tight. Getting woken up by seagulls I don't mind but NOT at 3am. That aside, the rooms were clean, well furnished and equipped with the usual toiletries and tea/coffee facilities. The breakfast was self serve cereal, continental, toast and drinks. Orders were taken for full Welsh breakfast, with plenty of choise of other options. Evening meals were not disappointing either. Lovely menu selection and well cooked. Great service from all the staff members. Good location for exploring the city of Swansea.
A nice hotel in the middle of Swansea. Probably the main hotel in town. Good interior and decor. Does great Christmas dinners and parties.
The Dragon is central to town and the buzz of a lively town. Staff are always accommodating and friendly. All the facilities you'd expect of a successful hotel, and a fabulous Argentine Tango Dance event fortnightly throughout the year.
Try them and thank when you re in swansea and thank me later
I stayed at the dragon hotel for 3 nights. I had a wonderful experience. Swimming n booked myself a massage. I had a lovely massage , the lady was pleasant n professional at the same time
Wouldn't stay here again. Very tired building, in need of refurbishment. Bed too soft. Room was otherwise well furnished and good shower. Piano bar/ restaurant not open the weekend we stayed. Barman was nice, but he was overworked on his own!
Great city centre hotel, upgraded without asking, comfortable bed, huge TV perfect stay. Literally using the room to sleep in as meeting friends over two days. Would definitely stay again based on location and price. Staff were helpful, friendly and attentive.
Needs a bit of updating. Especially from tje outside.
Afternoon tea was lovely just a shame the customer service wasn't as lovely.
I attended a wedding at the dragon hotel Swansea, I didn't see any rooms but the venue was beautiful & staff were very friendly
