Really great stay at the hotel. I'm only giving it a 3 because the breakfast was cold and they didn't have toiletries available in the room in case you forgot your toothbrush. Also the bed felt like it had a very big dip in the middle which was a little awkward to sleep in. Location was good and near to the centre.

Had a really good experience. Yes decor is a bit like a red room but the staff were really nice, comfy and spacious rooms. Actually had a fridge in the room, which is a god send if you have toddler or younger.

Parking was great we got a space fine and the spaces were generous.

The room was nice and spacious and the shower was powerful the only thing was the air con was noisy. Breakfast was ok self service. Great position near shops and places to eat and a short walk to bus and train stations.

Had our Xmas due there, the food meat was kept warm for ages, that the corners dried in and bend upwards and the vegetables undercooked that they still had a crunch to them.
The vine glasses where dirty and the staff only partially trained. One dropped the cutlery starter of 4 people on the cutlery for the rest of the meal, tried to stab the guy sitting next to me when picking the dirty once up, but didn't replace the once where they droped on.
Music was that loud, that no conversation was possible and after 3 hours the ears started hurting. The same songs on repeat. Had most of them 4 times in 3hours.

Had an enjoyable pork belly dinner in the early evening recently. The Dragon Brasserie has a relaxed feel and the staff were helpful and friendly. It was not too expensive and I'd definitely go back.

Dated and needs updating. Parking is expensive and you pay but may not get a space. Wi-Fi is good and a large Tv. Spa changing rooms are really bad lockers broken doors hanging of and very dirty . Pool is good . It is a shame it could be a great hotel but needs money spent on it . The best thing are the staff.

We went to The Dragon with a Groupon voucher. We were offered a small selection on its special set menu, but also had the chance to upgrade for a small price. I chose not to and had the garlic mushrooms to start, sea bass for the main and Eton mess for dessert. All were very good. Well cooked and well seasoned. Our waiter Valentin was also very good - pleasant, helpful and attentive. This made up for the slightly slow service, as he was by himself most of the night and the kitchen appears to be a long distance from the Brasserie. The place itself was pleasant, but looks a bit tired and worn around the edges. We enjoyed the visit though.

Extremely lovely, friendly and helpful staff. We were late for breakfast but they still catered for us. This was a lifesaver with 2 children in tow! Room was tidy and clean. I'm giving it 1 less star because of the horrible smell of gutter at the lobby and main bar. The stench remained there in the morning , thankfully we didn't have to stay another night. The cap of data meant we didn't have internet for mist of the stay, but we didn't stay long enough to care. Very close to train station and city centre.

Stayed here one night for business and had a mixed bag really. I wouldn't stay here again personally although it wasn't horrendous.

To start with the positive; the room was a good size, the tv in the room was a good size and all functions working, the shower was good and hot with a nice water pressure. The gym and pool are adequate and the sauna was good as well. Dinner was fine, I ordered a burger and garlic bread with bread and butter pudding for dessert. The burger was a good size, as was the pudding and tasted good too. The towels in the room were REALLY soft and fluffy. The aircon was working well.

The negatives; the bed (the star of the show when you are staying for one night in a hotel) was uncomfortable as it was two singles pushed together meaning I kept rolling in to the dip in the middle. One of my pillows was as thin and hard as a piece of card! The wibdows, despite being double glazed let in an awful lot of sound from the traffic. Some secondary glazing would help. So it was a poor night sleep. Breakfast in the morning has awful. I had eggs Benedict, the poached eggs were under cooked so went runny on the plate, there was WAY too much hollandaise sauce (tasted like packet stuff) which then, when mixed with egg, made the plate very wet and my muffin wasn't toasted so then that went soggy... I didn't eat it. I thought I would have a yoghurt instead but it wasn't a good brand and it tasted sooo sugary, it was like eating syrup.

I didn't know what to expect when I first entered the car park, it was just a bit tight and small. But once in the hotel wow really pleasantly surprised by everything. And the staff couldn't be more helpful. Because we had to leave early the next morning and missed breakfast, they prepared lunch boxes to take away for everyone in my party. The rooms are spacious and clean and warm. A real gem. Thank you

Disappointing afternoon tea for 4 people. Booked through Groupon for friends 70th birthday. I am coeliac so Dragon was informed beforehand. When cakes arrived a lovely platter for 3 friends, but mine was just a small plate with 4 triangle sandwiches, plus 1 scone (which I couldn't get a knife through) and 4 very small triangle shortcake biscuits, but no other choice. Friend informed staff about hard scone and was given another one. No apology about selection of GF. cakes. Also was not informed that a glass of Prosecco was part of the tea until we had finished and had ordered another drink. Poor service Dragon , sorry won't be recommending GF afternoon teas to other GF friends .

It sounded like there was a mouse under the floorboards between my room and the room above. A regular sound of scratching and scurrying. Poor sound insulation, could hear people in the rooms around.

The room was in desperate need of a refurb and not very clean. The chair in the room was covered in stains and there was no hot water. The staff on the front desk were not exactly rude but we're far from friendly. The staff at the bar were very nice and the food from the restaurant was good.
