Horrible experience. I am sitting here in pain and have to wait 3 hours just to speak to a dr. I am a cancer patient and unfortunately I have been to many hospitals I have never had such a horrible experience. Avoid going to this ER! I have been here in the ER for 2 days and they still have not admitted me. In every other hospital I have been to they have admitted me within a few hours of being in the ER.

Had a horrible experience here. Sat in a chair for almost 12 hours with my mom. First came in as ER patient, sat to be served for about 3 hours. Was told X rays were needed, sat after X rays for another 2 hours. Then was told needed a CT scan, sat for 3 more waiting to get scanned then another 3 hours to hear the results. You re better off going to an Urgent care rather than this place. Just sitting and waiting for hours being told no answers for long time, since this place is understaff. Do not waste your time.

I was recently admitted to this hospital for a surgical procedure and I cannot thank the teams of doctors and nurses enough. They truly made sure that I was taken care of and comfortable. I was in tears leaving the hospital because what I will remember even through so much pain is the incredible care that each person gave to me while there. Best decision to come to this hospital. I cannot say thank you enough to each and every staff member; from the ER nurses/physicians, to specialists, anesthesiologists, nurses, nurses in training, cleaning, and food staff + more. Everyone was so kind and I will always be grateful! Furthermore, the room I was in was so beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Thank you all!

Terrible customer service experience@NYU Langone H...

Terrible customer service experience@NYU Langone Health on 1st and 55 Brooklyn ny !!!! I took my dad for a GI endoscopy done and a private office they advised me to go to the hospital .I went straight to NYU he got admitted . On Thursday morning I went to clean him up . While there the young man was try to take his access lines out .I informed the nurse, next the patient was complaining of hearing voices and they were there in the room ,at one time he walk to the bathroom and smile at me ,the next time they spoke to him the voices were tell him to take it out .. that went on for hours ,at one point he pull the access line out of him arm there was blood from his bed pass my dad bed out into the hallway, this when on for hours trying to stop him from taking it out and trying to keep him in bed from leaving. He wanted to leave , what became very upsetting is that my dad is 78 and has high blood pressure !he should ve never been in the same room with that patient it wasn t safe . What if I wasn t there omg .... I couldn t go to work , I stay there to watch this man and protect my dad from about 10.30am till after 2 pm the man was an in danger to himself and I felt very afraid for my dad and myself.I complained several times . At one point I was told I have to understand he s sick really! I ask for the manager , I was told she was in a meeting , by then or room was flooded with staff machines pushing Over on us .I took my dad into the hallway and stand a new nurse came and gave us chairs to sit . When the manager did come she said she would come speak to us when where back in the room . Patient relations seem concern in getting the matter resolved on the phone. I took him for a walk trying to distract him so his pressure doesn t go up! By the time they check it it was 190 over 105 I got him comfortable as I can and explain to him that he has to do some Deep breathing it will help bring his pressure down. The manager never came back never called on till I call to make a complain to patient relations.....next experience The doctors wants me to sign concent form without filling information, when he did get the procedure done the doctor didn t even came back to explain his findings and answer any questions I would ve had yet they want to discharge him telling me it s not a bother to him at this time. They are very unprofessional on the 5 floor 5508 area it s horrible!!!!

Best school ever. Highly recommended. I had a great experience being a patient at their dental school. Med Students are smart and know their job. Although tuition is very expensive but it is worthy. Has a very good reputation and offer a good learning environment than some of the SUNY school.

I had a great experience here. My son had a surgery at the OR here and got transferred to the Pediatrics later on. All the doctors and nurses I met are so nice and caring I almost forgot they are not my relatives or close friends!

I just wish their location is not so far away from subway or civilization...

I believe that is a very racist place to work. I have sent an application and the HR called after 3 months. After the interview the so called representative issued a series of unrealistic requests like collecting the e-mails from previous employers since the HR Dept. does not call for references. This was the weirdest request of ALL. If the HR does not do the check, who checks the references? I give one star because is the only option.

I was diagnosed with a torn artery and discharged. Days later, I was told my condition was life-threatening and never should have been discharged. ER is overcrowded, billing department is nothing short of surly, and I literally almost died coming here. Stay away.

Who manages the people at the call centers who take appointments? They should be fired. And then the staff should be fired. And that is only the beginning of this profit driven machine. No care for patients under the guise of patient care. Regrettable choice.

This hospital is the prime example of what quality health care is all about. I've been admitted since September 9, 2014 with approximately 3 days to go before discharge. All acclamations to every department I've come across during my stay thus far. Everyone is well trained and have a pleasant deameaner. The food is very well made and taste wonderful. The medical staff can not be more caring about you and how may they help you. The nursing staff is awesome. Did I mention that the nursing staff is awesome. I could go on and on. As I've stated from the beginning everyone from the pre registration to my actual stay here has been more than just helpful they care about your wellbeing. Thank you all for your dedication to the health care industry and the people like me in your care.

I left their ER without a diagnosis and was told to see another doctor. I left still in the same pain I arrived with and was unable to attend classes or work for the rest of the week. The bill I received was outrageous, over $4,000 for the emergency room alone before insurance and over $400 for a doctor I only saw maybe 5 minutes who could not diagnose me. I was in an actual room for about 15 minutes, for a majority of the time I was in a hallway. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Birth of beautiful, wonderful Kid #1 (Kata!) and equally amazing and heart-thumping Kid #2 (Uta)--if this hospital does nothing else throughout the course of all future history, the fact that this much JOY JOY JOY came from this one place right up 1st Avenue from where we live our lives down on 23rd and FDR has seared itself into my heart as par par and par excellence!!!--Thank YOU!!!

Potentially the most inefficient process I have ever been involved in. Epitomizes ER stereotypes. Could save a lot of money for hospital and time for patients if employees put thought into things. If you go to ER be prepared to wait and be awed by inefficiencies.

I would give 10 stars for the incredible job done by cardiologist Dr. Babaev and his staff on the 5th floor. But the crew on the 3th floor(after procedure) did not deserve even 1 star. Unprofessional, lazy, not caring staff.

I sent a check to cover a payment of a procedure....one day. They cashed the check and credited my account The next day I sent in another check to cover a different statement/procedure. The number on the check was the NEXT check number in my checkbook. They cashed the check, according to my bank, but did not credit my account and have to date been unable to find the payment and cannot give me any explanation except to send me to yet another department. Then they sent me to a collection agency because they said I did not pay my bill. So I paid it by telephone with a credit card. Hence they now have TWO payments for the same procedure and can't figure it out on their books. Their bookkeeping sucks. And I will not return to THAT place as I received not only NO satisfaction, even thought I could provide bank records of the check payment... I got the run around and was treated as though I was in the wrong! How can I be in the wrong when I PAID the bill TWICE and can prove it with bank records? BAD!

The operator #4 is a waist of life. I have been trying to reschedule an appointment for the past half hour and can' t seem to be able to get transferred to the correct department. Whoever is highering and managing these "operators" that will not disclose there names, should be fired along with the operators themselves. It is literally a group of unaccountable, uneducated, barbaric, animals. I will no longer do business with this hospital.

Their were bloodied bandages on the floor an blood on the floor. One of the nastiest Emergency room I've ever been too.

Treated for stage 4 lung cancer with multiple brain metastases by Drs. Patrick Kelly, John Golfinos, Bernard Crawford & Roman Perez Soler.
I'd have to say the care was "fairly adequate" since I was treated in 1999 and completed ALL treatment in 2000.
Langone flies under the radar compared to the much vaunted MSKCC & MDA. From the doorman to the Dept Chairs I was treated like royalty despite being some everyday schmo

Came here to visit a friend, only one visitor allowed at a time, you are required to wear a mask here, the place was rather quiet when I was here with very few people. This pretty much sums it up for this location, I pray that you should never have to come here again!

I've had surgery twice at NYU Langone Medical Center in Manhattan - once elective surgery and once emergency surgery. Both times the surgeries went very well and the medical supervision and care that the hospital provided exceeded my expectations. Everyone I dealt with (surgeons, nurses, transporters, elevator operator) literally every staff member, was extremely professional, knowledgeable, friendly, comforting and accommodating. They just opened up the new Kimmel Center too where every overnight patient gets their own room. Everything was extremely clean and very high tech. When I left the hospital, I received a thank you card and some follow up phone calls from the staff to see how I was doing on my own. I was very impressed with the care I received and I would highly recommend NYU Langone Health.

Like most NYC hospitals it can get busy and may be understaffed. However I feel that some of the nurses are overwhelmed by the amount of work and patients they have to tend to. I was in the ER for the flu and bad gastric pains. I don t understand why it took over two hours to get my pain medication. I know it was busy and as the physician assistant said, they have other priorities like the people brought in from the ambulance... but two hours? For the pharmacy to approve toradol? On top of that my father had to keep flagging down anyone he can because I was in agonizing pain reminding them of the pain reliever. He also suggested morphine because that s what I received last time I was here and in other hospitals across the city because it relieves my acid reflux and severe abdominal pain. I am not trying to brag but my father is also an RN and knew that toradol wouldn t help me and is why when I was being discharged I was still in a lot of pain and continued to vomit when I came home.

Not to mention I went back to the ER, but this time went to Bellevue Hospital.

went in for a routine physical and was billed almost $1,000 for service that my insurance is supposed to pay. The NYU billing dept incompetence is world class. They won't call their in-house Doctor to get the charge code since it is not their job to fix the problem. They just want me to pay vs. taking the effort to deal with the Doctors office and insurance company. Go somewhere else for your physical exam and blood test e.g., Quest. Quest does this all day long and knows how to send an invoice to the insurance company

Horrible experience at this hospital with the nursing staff on the 10th floor. They were dismissive, did not give me updates only after I complained. Doctors did not include me in my son s treatment plan as well as did not act on information regarding his safety. My son was born at Tisch. I went back 19 years after his birth to find the care and practices were less than kind If you have a choice I suggest Columbia.

Not a professional employer. Benefits office usually hangs up on you and hardly can gets through to talk to someone, and no one responds to your email or voice mail inquiries. Its outsourced medical billing service is also screwed up often and takes forever to get things right. A professional employer needs to treat its well first, so its happy employees can serve people with true care.

This is the worst hospital I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. The pediatric urologist here has the rudest bedside manner. She called to talk down on me when I questioned why a medication was recommended but never prescribed and was defensive about all of it, making it clear to me that she is more concerned about protecting her medical license than she is treating the condition of a helpless young child.
I would have given her a personal review, but the whole system is in disarray. Making an appointment is next to impossible because one person will tell you to come in at such and such time, but when you do, you are greeted with a your appointment isn t until....
I ve had to call 4 people half a dozen times before any call was returned. They should put up a sign that reads, we want your money/ we don t care about you, so at least I was prepared for what I was getting in to.

Doctors are good. The billing department is like loan sharks. They will assign you out-of-network physicians and resources without notifying you. And this will cost you thousands of dollars.

I kid you not, a man at their billing department forwarded my call to a Chinese restaurant when I called to complain about the fact that they committed surprise billing by assigning me out-of-network doctors.

The staff here are on the "rough"-er side, and by that I mean ghetto-- especially the nurses, aides, and secretaries. It's hard to navigate the healthcare system when the staff you have the most face-time with completely lack professional demeanors, (Read: bad grammar, tattoos, flashy jewelry, wild hairstyles, etc). Not to mention, many nurses are also obese, how can you trust someone to take care of your health when they don't take care of their own? Healthcare is a business and many NYU employees do not meet the expectations of what you would expect from a workplace/business in Manhattan.

Doctors and residents, on the other hand, are normal, educated, have excellent professional demeanor, and know how to relate to their patient population. Unfortunately, you don't have as much face time with doctors as you do with the ancillary staff. I suggest bringing your loved ones to a more "refined" healthcare institution such as Columbia/Cornell, Johns Hopkins, U. Penn, Yale.

My son was admitted at the NYU Langone Medical Center epilepsy unit on 10/09/2013. The reason my son was admitted by his doctor was to find out where his seizures was coming from, by provoking a seizure so the doctor could provide the right medication to stop the epilepsy seizures.

Mixed feelings on this hospital. My Uncle had heart surgery that went excellent here, but had insurance and a son in law working for a Hospital branch. My girlfriend who has no insurance, was treated like literal trash by the staff. Talented? Yes (if you have insurance). Compassionate and selfless? No.

I received care at NYU's Langone Medical Center in...

I received care at NYU's Langone Medical Center in 2012. NYU's billing department has the worst customer service and the worst attention to detail that I have ever encountered. NYU's billing departments are divided into different entities that do not communicate with each other. This has made it exceptionally difficult for me to not only manage my bills and communication with NYU, but it has made it difficult for my insurance company to resolve payment conflicts with the various billing departments. I have been charged multiple times for the same procedure, which my insurance company became involved with and resolved. I was yelled at by a billing department customer service representative when I attempted to dispute a claim. Instead of sending a bill with one figure, NYU sends multiple bills, without comprehensive description of treatment that the patient can understand. After I had gone through much difficulty to clarify the charges and paid them on time, I asked for a receipt to be sent to me from NYU's billing department. I was never sent a receipt (its been 4 months). On top of everything, I just received an additional bill for treatment that I received 8 months ago. What kind of business is so disorganized that they are not even able to bill their patients in a timely manner? I have no confidence that I can trust the NYU billing department to bill me in a correct and efficient manner. DO NOT go to NYU unless you want to spend hours on the phone attempting to straighten out your charges.

Starting from the telephone system. Wait 30 to 45 minutes before you are connected. Then be transferred to department to department. Leave messages with your doctor or send and email and do not hold your breath.
Radiology is totally inept and the next time I hear, "We are sorry", I want to kill myself.

Firstly the line on here isn t the correct one and it redirects you by asking you to press 0. Got transferred to a guy who barely took time to listen to me and transferred me to emergency. The moment you walk in, the staff look forward to helping you. they even walk you to your destination if it must be. the staff are extremely courteous and respectful that makes it so much easier to walk into a hospital or a facility unaware of who you going to meet and what's going to happen and the minute you walk in you are treated with such respect. you are a perfect example of how people should be treated everywhere. thank you so much.

By having all my healthcare needs addressed with N...

By having all my healthcare needs addressed with NYU Langone, I feel as if I have a healthcare team at my disposal 24/7/365. NYU Langone's doctors provide excellent, individualized and in depth preventative and emergency care.

Location: Conveniently located at the state of the are NYU Langone Medical Center complex. Plenty of parking in the surrounding blocks, and easy access via. Mass transit.

The Care: With all the advanced medical care that NYC has to offer, I feel as if there is no equal to what NYU Langone has to offer. Wait times have always been minimal (Less than 5 minutes) to nonexistent. The patient check in process is as simple as entering my birth date and scanning my palm at the kiosk.

Everytime I've come here examinations have been quick, thorough, and have given me confidence in knowing that my health is being properly looked into. My primary care doctor ( Amna Yaquoob, MD) has always been courteous, straightforward, and takes the time to refresh herself on my medical history prior to each visit.

The staff here know exactly when to refer me for further follow up, and take a very analytical approach in terms of labs and imaging.

I've recently moved to Schoharie county which is about a 3.5 hour drive from here, but I feel as if I'd be doing myself a disservice by going anywhere else for primary care medicine.

Another major benefit to being a NYU Langone patient is their in depth digital record management system, that let's me look at all past visits, test results, scans etc right on their app (App is called NYU MyChart).

Billing department is a joke. Had a small cost share (under $200) for my physician visit. Never sent me a bill. Never sent me payment instructions. Never even made a phone call. I only found out when they sent me to collections. So be advised that even routine care here runs the risk of damaging your credit because they can't manage basic invoicing.

Just do not book any appointment with this hospital by phone! I did the biggest mistake: phoned! and was charged for a no-show that never happened because the doctor moved my appointment and rescheduled it and re-cancelled it. It is the worst experience I had in the US so far. Just avoid calling because they pretend to do things, take note...and after a couple of months you receive a bill. And there is no way of challenging it. Had to pay to avoid more issues. Definetely never ever going to go to this hospital!
