I love coming to this hotel every time we are in town. Normally we have a wonderful experience, however, this time I felt the level of the hotel is slightly slipping. My first impression began at the parking lot that no longer has a security gate...this was slightly a let down, but not a big one. Then, once in our room, one of the sheets on the bed looked like it hadn't been changed...it had yellow and brown spots on it. Next...I went to make tea, and the sugar packets were hard and crunchy. Needless to say, i didnt have sugar with my tea. Finally, when we moved the chair to sit at the table, there was trash underneath the chair..gross! This is the first time this has happened which is why I still believe this is a good hotel and gave it a fair rating.
I attended a professional event. The sevice was excelent, the food was fresh, the facility was clean and it was decorated very festive for Christmas.
Went for a small convention. Staff were incredibly helpful with all questions I had.
The staff is friendly and accommodating. Rooms are nice. The buildings layout is really spread out and tricky to figure out at first.
I came here for MEPS, the food was great and the hotel room was nice and large for both me and my "battle buddy"
I stayed there and liked the stay. Breakfast was covered as part of the stay. I had a meeting with a guest during breakfast in the morning. They offered him a cup of coffee. Since I was there guest that night, I was shocked to see them charge my guest close to $5 for the cup of coffee which I believe should have been on the house to attract me to come back and stay there again. Or even attract my guest. This is indeed bad service and bad marketing.
Nice rooms only got three stars because not only do u pay 120 a night a room but u get charged 8 dollars a night to park your car
Banquet breakfast. Food was good but not enough servers.
Very friendly accommodating staff. Rooms clean. Very large room layout, nice dressing area with mirrors and power. Hotel is built a little strange with multiple buildings surrounding the main building with the lobby and restaurant. Unless you want to park on the street they charge $8 per night for parking, but you can be parked very close to your room. The Internet connection is very very poor, my devices won't even stay connected for more than 2 minutes, if that.
Didn't stay at the hotel, but attended an event there. The hotel seemed very nice from what I saw.
Holds many conferences as it is a big place. Excellent staff.
I was only there to drop off my husband for military stuff, but the staff was EXCELLENT. Extremely helpful. Even checked on me when I was coughing badly and offered water while I was waiting for my husband to fill paperwork. And never heard anything bad from my husband about his stays there. (Though both were in the military wing.)
Very big hotel service was great the restaurant was good
We stayed here when my daughter was going through MEPS it was nice.
I drive alot of customers there. And they only have positive things to say
Ratty hotel. Nice employees, but facilities aren't up to snuff at all
Beautiful facility, very attentive staff, onsite restaurant is A+
Enjoyed my visit. People were nice and bed was comfortable.
I loved their breakfast which had salmon with mangoes. Service was very very friendly.. not just cleaning staff but even kitchen staff was friendly with me. Had a really good time at capital swing convention
This is a very old Double Tree, needing to be remodeled. The rooms were of obvious age and kind of grimey. Definitely needs a little TLC. Staff was friendly and happy all of the time. Bar and Bartenders were excellent. I used the gym and everything was up to snuff except one terribly squeaky weight machine. I would elect to stay elsewhere the next time just because of the rooms.
Attended a wedding in the Capital ballroom. Staff was prompt and courteous.
Absolutely terrible. Arrived at check-in time 4pm for a event held at this hotel. After standing in line for 35 minutes was told room wouldn't be ready till 7 (30 minutes past event start) had to change in our vehicle just so we could arrive at the scheduled start time. After the event at 930 we arrived at our room and it smelled like dog poo. Called desk they reported no rooms available. Folded they would "refresh" our room. By 1130 pm no one had arrived. Absolutely the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I Do not recommend this establishment
Conference room was spacious and the food service was excellent.
The place was very nice, and the staff was extremely amicable.
Marvelous hotel and wonderful staff. The halls just need some sanding and paint!
The staff was friendly, room service was good, the free cookies were bomb. Only bad thing I felt was the rooms weren't very inviting. The layout just looked outdated and didn't make you feel good. Just the color of the walls and the lighting in the room was kind of depressing.
Can't really give a full rating since I only been twice for meps. The rooms are pretty avarage it gave me motel vibes. The bathroom was nice and orderly. The wifi doesn't work and the cable is basic. The dinner isn't the best but it's not completely nasty, although the breakfast is pretty good.
Great customer service. Super clean room. Nice buffet and pool
Comfy And convenient. Nice meeting space and catered food for meetings was good.
Attended a dinner conference at the hotel. The waitstaff was very helpful and professional and checked on us several times. I wish the room was a bit warmer and cold air was blowing on us for a while.
This hotel had great accommodations and the staff was very professional.
Was served my drink in a filthy glass. The bartenders need to check the glasses before serving in them.
Staff are courteous & plentiful. Accommodations are wonderful.
Clean rooms. Nice, helpful staff. Good bar, nice pool. Near many food options
Doubletree in Arden was the perfect central location in Sacramento, we were 15-20 minutes away from everywhere. The rooms were comfortable and the amenities ( pool, wireless, fitness) were all nicely done.
Clean room, good ac inside the room, which is definitely a plus for Southern California. Main halls were non air conditioned, leading to an unpleasant walk to/from the room.
This place is pretty fancy looking, I got lost a few times though
As a Diamond member of this chain, I must say that I am extremely disappointed: bed was faulty at best...the upgrade received was not an upgrade, and even the ice machine I had to use since there was no fridge, was broke. Improvement is urgently needed.
Nothing but the usual crowd kind of stuff. Waitress tried it with my money. Not!!!!!.
Over 200 a room plus parking fee. Huge hotel with poor directions...
Great! Staff was pleasant, conference rooms were orderly, and the food was great!
The staff is very nice and always said welcome when I walked past them. The room had a little old rag smell which I think was to the cleaning crew using an old rag to wipe the counters and i did note that next to the legs of the bathroom sink needed a bit more elbow grease. Other theb that I would stay again.
Big complex, nice place, and see the Negative and positive to the gate arms in parking lot.
Went there for a company event. Clean and organized.
We were there for a wedding and the crew of the hotel did a great job making sure it all went well.
Staff, service and room was great except for the restaurant.
Neighborhood shopping center with a lot of vacancies. It was busier when Lucky and Walgreens were there. Now, there's tons of parking. I go to the UPS Store, Dollar Tree, and Holders Country Inn. Nothing else there has any interest for me.
For the price and the name I was surprised to see mold in the bathroom. Bar was good and great burgers
Attended dance competition in ball room. Great facility.
Very nice ....visited there for a Japanese food show
The place is pretty huge, there are several buildings that house the assorted rooms. Charging people $10 a night to park in a hotel that they are staying at just irritates me, more so when you book through a booking website and there is no mention of it. There is no option to park outside of their paid lot, unless you want to park at the mall down the street and walk back. To top it off, our room key did not work on the sensor, and we had to call the front desk to get out of the lot.
We booked two rooms (one with two double beds and the other with a single king), this review is based off of the room with the king bed.
At first glance, the room had a good amount of space to move around, but then we noticed that the room was handicap accessible, meaning that the toilet and shower heads were not standard heights. I would have preferred that they asked if we wanted such a room, but by then it was too late and we needed to be up in a few hours to get back on the road.
The ice machine on our floor did not work
The bed was entirely too soft!. I like a softer bed, but when I sink into it, it is too soft. My wife has back issues and needs a firm mattress. It would be nice if there was information made available about the firmness of the mattresses.
The pillows were so small, I prefer king size pillows when I have a king sized bed.
The smell of marijuana coming into our room was over powering and kept waking us up. I know that this is not the fault of the hotel, but maybe an improved ventilation system could help with this.
The sink had an extremely slow drain, which caused it to back up, splashing the water back up as we tried to wash our hands.
The toilet needed to have the handle held down for a few seconds in order to flush all the way.
The shower head was "leaking" causing a small stream of water to spray at the wall and out into the bathroom area.
While taking a shower, the tub began to back up with water. A short moment later the water drained, but then filthy water began coming into the tub.
When I mentioned these things and showed him pictures as proof, he thanked me for bringing it to his attention and asked if there was anything that he could do to make things right. He offered breakfast, but we had to pass, we were in a hurry. He then offered coffee, but again, we did not have time to wait. With that, we were given four cookies and sent on our way. It should go without saying that some sort of compensation regarding the room, should have been offered up.
Very sprawling layout. Clean room, comfortable bed. Enjoyed having an accessable little balcony
Hotel is OK. Room furniture is nice. But the hotel is out dated. Needs some remodeling.
We didn't run into any issues here.was good experience overall.
Everything was fine nomas that the service was more or less slow
I stay at this hotel often for business trips in the area. My room is always clean, and the staff are very friendly. The internet also works great, so I can get some work done. Another think that I like is that the guestroom doors have hydraulic door closers so that the doors don't slam early in the morning when other guests are leaving before me.
I also like the area, there are plenty of restaurants and easy access to shopping areas. It is a great "home base" when I am traveling to Sacramento.
Stayed here before going to MEPS. Great food and service. Had fun.
We where only in the ballroom but the service and the food was great.
I loved how big and fashionable the hotel looks. The rooms were great and all guests were showed great respect!
The hotel was nice and the staff was attentive and respectful
Great atmosphere and food, slept well, room service was quick and efficient, shower was a bit of a disappointment though
