The hotel shut the water off from 11pm to 2am for scheduled maintenance without prior notice to the guests. Hotel staff was professional and apologetic. The next day management went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make up for the inconvenience. The stay at this one Hilton has changed how I search for hotels when I travel. I will look for available Hilton first!

The Doubletree in Tallahassee takes downtown hotels to a whole new level! Walking into the lobby makes your eyes fill with amazement like a child on Christmas morning! You'll want to take some time just to soak it all in! Oh, and the pool deck- words cannot describe it! Its the best mix of everything relaxing and fresh nuance that you can imagine! Been there, done that and want to do it again...and again!
Although I loved the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel there were some things I did not like at all. First of all the water pressure was poor and the hot water was warm at best. Secondly the housekeeper had no idea what I meant when I requested my room be turned down. Last but certainly not least I was in my room on check out morning and some guy just walked in never identifying himself after a few short raps on the door. Mind you I know this can happen from time to time but a apology or explanation would've been nice.
The downstairs lobby area was remodeled in the last year or two and looks beautiful. The rooms are standard Doubletree rooms, but the location is very good as you are walking distance to restaurants and FSU is not far away. The restaurant that I had breakfast in needs to be a little cleaner, but other than that great place.
After driving four hours to drop my daughter off at orientation for Florida State University, I came back to my room at 8:00 pm to do some work before retiring for the night. From 8:00 pm-9:00 pm I had to listen to doors constantly slamming and teenage girls shrieking and screaming up and down the hallway. I asked the girls to stop but it did not happen. At 9:30 I called the front desk to ask for security or a room change. I was told they could change my room but that a cheer-leading camp was on every floor and it should stop by 10:00. I questioned why I had to endure the noise for another half hour and was told I could go a talk to the coaches. So the guests have to take care of problems at the hotel, not the staff. I feel like I am staying at a Motel 8 not a Hilton hotel.
I selected this hotel only because it advertised a Starbucks on its location. Upon my arrival on a Monday ( Memorial Day) I was informed that it was closed Monday and was going to be closed the following day Tuesday. I would have selected a hotel closer to the location of my meeting Tuesday morning and in addition one that included free breakfast. I was disappointed. The hotel is a bit dated but the room was very clean. The light as you enter the room did not work properly and left the room dim overall. There were 3 lamps in the room. Parking was $15 a night. I have to say the room was quiet and the bed very comfortable. I did not eat here as the selections were pricey and we had a car
The waiting staff was beyond amazing. They were hard at work and were extremely polite. We always enjoy spending time with the staff during our weekend at the Doubletree
We are on our way cross country with our small dog so limited on where we can stay. This hotel took dogs-- so we went. What a great surprise. Lots of land for walks with a beautiful pond in the back. The room was very clean and big. Breakfast was great.
Location was convenient to night life and FSU campus. The hotel was clean and the pool was nice. I would not hesitate to stay here again if I'm back in Tallahassee
It's okay. Looks nice from the outside, but it definitely is a little older. Also, I'm not sure which one, but whoever typically answer the front desk phone at night is rude. She kept cutting me off before I finished my sentences to answer. Not really something you'd want to do with a guest, especially a rewards member.
All in all I'd consistently choose the ALoft down the street over this given my experience this stay.
$200+ for one night in a room so outdated that pale in comparison with similar rooms I've stayed recently for 1/3 of the price. Wireless Internet was so unstable that i had to turn Wi-Fi off and revert to 4G. Just awful!
We went to DoubleTree for breakfast with an invited seminar speaker. The food was amazing, fresh, served fast and reasonably priced. Staff was attentive and very polite. All in all great experience and perhaps a new breakfast place.
I brought someone very special to Doubletree and had a very special evening planned. The staff was super friendly, hotel view was phenomenal, the rooms were very clean, and enjoyed the privacy. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Special thanks to the staff that worked throughout the night. Their hospitality was exceptional and are very much appreciated.
Great stay. Booked str8 through as Hilton Honors Member. Recieved free room upgrade. Stayed 1 night then decided to book again last minute because of the weather rate was higher but recieved same rate as night before. Great service hotel is very nice.
I was really pleasantly surprised that this Doubletree was not just a standard hotel...the design and rooms are quite unique and boutique-like for a small city.
overall The Experience wasn't bad but they are going through a renovation and my father-in-law's room was much nicer than ours the shower is horrible I've had bigger showers in a cruise ship Lavoratory and we lost power one morning just by turning on the blow dryer
Just got checked in. I had to request a microwave and the fridge is definitely a mini as is the closet. Staff is super friendly glad to get me a microwave. I cannot believe they're going to make me pay to park and for WiFi though. I will for sure try a different place next time I'm in Tallahassee.
Beautiful decor, amazingly comfortable beds and delightful desk clerks and servers. Met the food and beverage manager at a special reception catered by the resident chef. A perfect travel experience
Arrived for a work IT Summit on Sunday left on Thursday. The free shuttle from the airport was nice and every employee from the hotel I interacted with was very nice and helpful. Aesthetically pleasing decor in the lobby and in the rooms. The 24 hour workout area is a nice touch too. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone.
Great Location. Beautiful Lobby. Friendly Staff. Clean Rooms. The rooftop wasn t open yet, but we will be back for drinks on the roof and dinner at Savour.
PETTY : That's what Jonathan LaBarre is turning the DoubleTree brand into. Went with my daughter to orientation at the University FSU . Stayed at the hotel , like usual clean room / staff very helpful " too helpful for Mr. LaBarre " As we were checking out , the young lady heard we were going to orientation at the University. She then told me that parking in the hotel is complimentary if your stay is for orientation at FSU , something I didn't know. So she proceeded to remove the self parking charge $ 16.13 Thanked her very much and we went on our way. Few weeks later I receive my C.C. bill and noticed the parking charge is there I called DoubleTree directly and was told I had to speak to Jonathan LaBarre . I called Mr. LaBarre and explained the situation . Basically according to him it is offered But I didn't qualify ?? Go figure never mind it was offered to me.
He was more interested in knowing how I found out and WHO offered it !! To the point I asked him if anyone would get reprimanded ?? He then told me to email the receipt that I was given showing the parking fee adjustment which I did. He Never emailed CONFIRMATION of receiving my email. NEVER REMOVED THE PARKING FEE It seems they're more interested in a parking fee than Standing behind their employees.
Gorgeous shabby-chic decor delights, fun and yummy restaurant, great location, very comfy and well-appointed, freshly updated rooms. I've stayed at all the main hotels downtown and this is my pick. Enjoy :)
Strange decor but clean and perfectly situated in Tally. Can walk to FSU campus and cute park across the street. Also seemingly taking great covid precautions so felt as safe as we can during this time
Good people, design is from the 70s, some might like it, but not me. Every hotel employee I have spoken with has been very polite and helpful. 5 stars people, 2 or 3 stars hotel decor
Room, location and food were nice but too much noise. I heard street traffic, drilling in the walls, some other creaking noise and every person that walked in the hall. No sleep at all.
Rooms are fine but noisy. I was on the 14th floor facing North. Woke up at 12 to sounds of nightclub music and yelling. Also heard noise in hallway and from the room above me. The renovation is trendy but does not extend to my room and will most likely be quickly outdated. A real disappointment!!
Wife and I stayed February 22, 2020 and we had a horrible stay. The pipes rattled all night long and iit wouldn't stop. The floor was decorated in black and it looked like a funeral parlor. Not what I expected from Double Tree. I would recommend you think about it twice before booking at this hotel.
Excellent hotel. Beautiful room, quiet tree lined street, free cookies, nice staff. Only downside was the parking garage was a horrible design for bigger cars and no bathtub in the room.
We didn't stay here. We met some friends that stayed here for the yearly festival the hotel was nice. The bathrooms in the rooms were up to date and clean. The rooms and common areas were nice looking.
