DoubleTree by Hilton Tallahassee Review

We attended a social dinner event at the DoubleTree. The food was great as was the service. Great staff! Very friendly and attentive. The suite we were in had very nice decor and lighting. Highly recommend!

Very nice rooms with Pleasant staff. The restaurant had fantastic scallops. The cocktails were good. Only disappointment was the pool. Extremely small and not very accommodating.

The room was large, but the construction noise was unbearable. Aside from that, good deal on a room at a higher end hotel.

Rooms are just ok and that goes the same for their front staff that is more interested in chatting amongst themselves than getting to you. The recently renovated rooms are tacky and they only have one suite according to the staff when we wanted to pay for an upgraded room, which was unavailable. I m sure they have more than one suite in a hotel this size. Our three day stay was less than expected. Not worth the free cookie . It is a convenient location and within walking distance of some good restaurants.

Great location but the room was a little small. They had clearly done a recent renovation. The furniture was nice but didn't fit well. Additionally, the TV was small. Overall it was comfortable, clean, and a nice night.

Room is smaller than normal and "queen bed" is a double bed

Beautiful Hotel great location on Florida State Campus ! Clean, fast check in and check out. Starbucks on site, easy parking. small pool but clean and quite. Nice size rooms exercise room perfect for a quick workout . My first impression upon entering the lobby of this hotel was....WOW! This is different.

The lobby reminded me of a European hotel and the decor throughout the hotel was interesting to say the least. The person at the front desk gave me a room away from the elevator because she knew I was tired and wanted quiet.

The room was very comfortable, had its own interesting furnishings, a mix between European and Art Deco. Bed was very comfortable, bathroom was well supplied and great shower.

Nice dining room and bar area.

Kudos to Catherine and Natalie at check out time for their great attitude which brings customers back again next time they are in town.

The staff takes good care of me when I visit two or three times each year. The breakfast spread is great and the location is wonderful: walking distance to the campus, the capitol, and fun restaurants. But I'd still have to give it a pass if I booked my own travel just because of the decor. It's so crazy bad it feels insulting. I travel to state capitols throughout the year and this is the only hotel that is offputing rather than welcoming. Maybe they could at least change the disturbing wall coverings...

Great place to stay with excellent views of the State capital building and it's environs. Its decor is different and interesting. I really liked this hotel

This hotel is the definition of a hidden gem. I m not going to say anything else because I want to keep it that way. :)

The Double Tree is a beautiful, modern hotel with an eclectic style. The award winning staff is incredibly courteous and professional..especially Angel Lighter, a server there. Ask for her, she's great!

Also gorgeous decor. When my wife and I arrived for a late check-in after an incredibly love g day of travel the over night front desk service was outstanding. Despite the clientele of the hotel attracting straight, wealthy white people who couldn't stop staring and whispering at a same sex married couple the hotel decor, atmosphere and staff made our stay peaceful and welcoming.

Young staff is brush and rude. Horrible experience from beginning to end. Valet lost our keys, GPS was stolen from our car while parked in their lot (by their valet) food in restaurant was way over priced and poorly prepared.

It was extremely clean and nice. They had power after the hurricane.

This was my first time staying in a Doubletree hotel. The accommodations are very nice and the room was huge. The decor in the hotel was a little different from any I was used too but not unpleasant. The location was perfect for the wedding we were attending.

Super clean and nice. The decor is a lil bit different but gives you something to talk about.

The only good thing about it was the view. Terrible service and drinks. Extremely rude bar manager. Will not be returning until they step up their game.

Best Hotel in Tallahassee. Have been there numerous times and service is outstanding.

Excellent common facilities and staff! The rooms were clean (and looked recently updated). The only issues were parking and the shower. The parking was difficult to maneuver. The spaces were large enough, but the pathways were narrow. This made it next to impossible to park when the lot was near capacity. As for the bathroom, water would pool on the floor whenever we took a shower. It looks like water was getting under the gap at the bottom of the shower door. If it was a little, I would have mind. However, the water would cover the entire bathroom floor and flow out of the bathoor to the room entrance. Despite these issues, I would still stay here again. Maybe just for the hot cookies...

As I write this review I am in the second day of trying to get help with a very simple problem. I asked for laundry services. Instead I got dry cleaning. This is a big deal for me because I am allergic to the chemicals in dry cleaning.

The hotel suggested that the clothes be returned for laundering. I was promised that the clothes would be in my room at 5 p.m. At 5 p.m. no clothes. I called down and the clothes had been sitting at the front desk. The clothes arrived with a big ticket saying dry cleaning and the smell of dry cleaning. I called down to guest services where I spoke to an excessively chipper woman who says yes to everything and then does nothing. I asked that she take an hour to see what she could do and then call me back. An hour later, no call. I called to speak to the woman again and was told that she had spoken to her supervisor who would speak to me anytime after 9 a.m. tomorrow morning. I explained that I was leaving the hotel at 8:30 in the morning. "Okay!" was the response and the promise that the supervisor would call me. Of course, no call. I feel sorry for this supervisor because her representative on the desk keeps making her manager look worse and worse.I tried to find a place on the hotel website to write what I am writing here but there was no opportunity to communicate on the website. Big mistake. This could have been kept off the web so easily.

Higher end Hilton in downtown Tallahassee. Good food.

At $186.00 per night I expected a clean hotel room. I m very disappointed with the conditions of the rooms here. Rooms should be extra clean during COVID pandemic. The room is unclean and out dated. Shower head need to be replaced.

Staying at this hotel was a great experience and we will start here again. The hotel is centrally located and close to the Capitol as well as the college. The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly and very helpful. The rooms were showing some wear but nothing that would have detracted or stopped me from staying here again. I will also note that they are renovating the rooms in the hotel so any concerns about then needing to be renovated will more then likely be addressed. The one thing that I will say that I had an issue with was having to pay 10 extra for wireless internet in the room. It is offered for free in the lobby, but in this day and age it should be included in the room rate allowing you to work in your room instead of having to do any work down in the lobby or from the business center. Even places like Quality Inn offer WiFi in the rooms at no cost.

Its better to pay cash than card. These hotel will charge you twice without your consent during check out.

Extremely nice hotel. Everything is white with black trim. The bar is nice, pool is fantastic, and staff very accomodating. Would stay again

Beautiful hotel in a great location near many sights of interest.

Staying on the 8th floor I was able to hear some of the nightlife but that was expected with the hotel being so near the FSU campus.

All the were staff I interacted with were great. Pam the night auditor was exceptionally helpful.

Stepping into the lobby will take your breath away! It's gorgeous. The rooms were beautiful and the service was great. Not to mention the famous cookies that are given to you by the front desk ... Wow!

This hotel is cute, classy and overall very nice. I loved the location. I wish the gym was a little bigger.

I was at a festival at the park and had to come her to use the restroom and was pleasantly surprised. The lobby area and the bathroom was beautiful!

Absolutely beautiful hotel in a great downtown location. Staff was great, food was great, room was great. The hotel has been renovated and whoever did the interior design work did a fantastic job. I would stay at this hotel anytime. Very clean too. Only issue is the walls are thinner than what you would normally hear but not a deal breaker for me. We slept very good that night.

Beautiful classy looking hotel. Pool only goes to 4ft, more of a wading pool, amazing after a hot day.

Beautiful hotel! Beds were comfy and quiet. The room was really clean. Parking was really easy in the deck. Starbuck's in the lobby. Nice park across the street. Nice front desk at staff when we arrived at 2a.m.

This is a very beautiful Hotel. I absolutely love the detail and character of it. Its almost has that beauty and the beast theme to it. Awesome staff. I will most definitely stay here again.

Beware. I have stayed here several times to visit the university. They have a MAJOR accounting issue. If you have stayed there recently CHECK YOUR CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS.... ON 2/14/16 they billed each credit card that I have used there for over $1300. They knew about their problem....yet they never informed anyone about it. They are blaming corporate Hilton for the issues, yet Hilton Corporate knows nothing about it. They refuse to put people of responsibility for the hotel on the phone....BEWARE

Always an enjoyable stay. Staff is always courteous and thoughtful. Rooms are modern and updated. I love the rooftop pool!

I was really disappointed! The entrance and room look really nice. The desk people were welcoming. But after changing our keys twice and having a bad night because of a heater too noisy, I am a little disappointed. I had to stop it for the second night so we were freezing at the morning The bed are comfortable though.

Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The rooms were lovely and the location was amazing. Quite a few restaurants to visit within walking distance. The pool was unbearably hot during my visit. It was above 90 the entire trip and the water undoubtedly got to hot tub temps.

Friendly staff and very accommodating. Starbucks in the lobby a plus as well.

It is an older hotel that I believe they are in the process of remodeling. The room that I stayed in though I could hear the elevator moving all night long.

Didn't stay there myself. A close friend came into town and stayed here. Very nice place. If I didn't live in tally, I would stay there when visiting.

Had A Chance to host our Church of Christ statewide Lectureship here this year. Although still under construction the place was Beautiful. Awesome Service. Loved it !

Double Tree is right downtown Talahassee. The beds are very comfortable with pillows that are comfortable. They have a buffet breakfast with bagels, fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, more. Everyone here was very friendly. Great place to stay for business or if you want to visit the capital.

Booked through Priceline blindly and this was our favorite out of the 4th hotels we got! Beautiful lobby with a shabby chic decor, and in downtown Tallahassee which was beautiful with the Spanish moss! We were booked on the 9th floor with two queen beds and found the room to be comfortable. Had breakfast the next morning downstairs in the restaurant and the kids had access to a buffet for only $5. I chose an omelette with 3 fillings, and the spinach was fresh, not frozen. We would definitely stay here again!
