An absolutely solid 4*. This is not high-end by any measure, but its location is an absolute 10, being 200m from Shinjuku station. The rooms are small, but so efficient and the breakfast buffet has all the traditional yummy tsukemono and grilled fish. The Sunroute chain offers some of the best options at the lower end of the price spectrum in a number of cities. If you want pampering, go elsewhere!

The hotel provides a very grand feeling upon walking in. The staff at the reception desk were very friendly, speak and understand English very well. I met up with a friend at the lobby and went out to wait for a taxi. Even the traffic security guard at the front of hotel speak very well English !! Overall the impression of this hotel was pretty good. Have Mr a luxury feeling and everyone is friendly and welcoming customer. Wouldn't mind trying to stay in this hotel next time I'm in Japan.
Relatively small room but with everything that is needed plus night clothes, slippers and other amenities perfect spot for transportation to sites. Very quiet. Authentic breakfast as well as usual egg dishes.
Hotel in a superb location! Near to Shinjuku station, eateries, convenience stores and shopping malls. Tokyu Hands and Takashimaya is just a few minutes walk from hotel.
Amazing place to stay and here is why. 1) Location is a 5 mins walk from Shinjuku Station that has the JR line(akihabara) , Oedo line(roppongi), has a 24h macdonalds 2 mins away, has convenience stores in less than 2 min walking distance. 2) Availability of limousine airport transfer. 3) Hotel staff speaks English, helpful, attentive. 4) Rooms are kept clean and fresh smelling. 5) Good number of places of interest within walking distance. 6) Fuunji Ramen is 5 mins walk away, a must try!
Location was great... Near the South Exit of Shinjuku Station. From there it's just a 5 minute walk. They provide a night gown on each bed which was a nice touch.Rooms were clean and the service was good. The hotel breakfast was a little underwhelming though... Same food everyday and the quality was just decent.
Love the location. It's a couple minutes walk from the New South Shinjuku Exit. Lots of good restaurants around the hotel too. Rooms are small from a US viewpoint but are perfectly serviceable.
Rooms are small, but no smaller than hotels in NY. Plus, what do you need a huge room for? Reasonably priced, very helpful staff, comfortable stay, and delicious (and authentic) breakfast buffet - although a bit pricey.
The double room type is very small. The bed is dirty on the first day. The bed has several hairs. The other days are quite clean. The double bed type is large and comfortable. The hotel is next to the exit of the Oedo Line a1. Super convenient subway
A chained hotel group in Japan where most of them are located in the heart of the city. For this one in Shinjuku, it is accessible by Airport Limousine which provides door to door service between the hotel and the two airports in Tokyo. It also offers loyalty membership scheme where a wide range of privileges to member and you must apply for one when you stay there.
A hotel located between the south exit of Shinjuku Station, the south of Koshu Kaido, and Yoyogi Station. It's big. A guard was standing outside the 1st floor. Immediately after Exit A1 of the Toei Oedo Line.
Whenever I visit Japan, I stay in Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku. It's so central to absolutely everything. There are several food places around the hotel, from japanese traditional to contemporary, familiar western fast food chains just a short walk away and also several convenience stores including Lawsons, 7/11 and Family Mart. The JR line is across the road and the Toei line is right next door, so access to every part of Tokyo/Japan is literally right at your door step.
The rooms are well appointed, all the amenities are included in case you forget - hair brushes, body sponges, shampoo/conditioner/bodywash, razors, shower caps & cotton buds. They provide comfortable pyjamas for your stay and slippers as well.
I personally always book the package with buffet breakfast included. It has both Asian and western varieties to choose from so you'll never go hungry.
Another point on convenience is that you can get the NEX train from Narita airport straight to Shinjuku and its a short walk to the hotel. If you don't want to walk to the station to take the NEX express on the way back, you can book an Airport Limousine Coach from the front desk at the hotel and it will take you there directly with your luggage so you can travel home stress free.
My favorite hotel at Shinjuku! It s conveniently located at the Oedo-line station exit (minutes away from stepping off the train) and a big intersection away from the JR station. It can be a little expensive during peak season, but if you can find a deal during the off season, it s a great steal!
Super close to Shinjuku station, which makes going anywhere in Tokyo easy. Rooms are small, clean, and the non smoking floor is completely free of all smoke smell. They even held our bags for a few days while we took a trip over to Osaka!
Room very small. Not being able to refresh room. TV on side not across the bed. Rough pillows, rough mattress . Buffet breakfast, Horrible scramble eggs very runny, No whole wheat bread, No specialty coffee. Excellent location. Unfriendly stuff, No safety box in room.
Three-star hotel but I feel like it's a four-star hotel. Helpful and friendly staff. Room is a bit small but it is comfortable. :) It is located near the Shinjuku JR station and just a stone's throw away from McDonald's.
Very close from Shinjuku station, and there's an airport limosine bus line that directly drops you off in front of the hotel, which was a huge plus because we didn't have to walk through the busy streets in the heavy rain. Very small room but maybe I'm just used to hotel rooms in the US. Staffs were very friendly and let me print without a fee. Room was super clean, bath tub surprisingly big considering overall room size. Overall worth the price and would consider staying again if I have to stay near Shinjuku station.
Like it very much. Location is excellent near train station. The room and bathroom is clean and big enough for two person. Staff is friendly and helpful
Staff are very friendly and speak excellent English. Rooms are very small, beds are very small, bathrooms are very small. You can probably guess where I m going with this.. definitely not ideal if you re an average sized white male, but this is Tokyo and this is what you get.
A fine, if cramped, Western style hotel in an easily accessible part of Shinjuku. I found the accommodations a bit overpriced compared with other hotels at similar price points in Tokyo, but the staff is excellent and there is shuttle access to both major airports. Every major destination in Shinjuku, including Golden Gai and Piss Alley, is accessable by foot.
Pros: Amazing location! Family Mart within a 30sec walk of the building; Shinjuku station is about a 3-min walk; ample eating options in the area; very easy to get taxis; McDonalds right next door. Cons: Tiny rooms, actually much smaller than the pictures suggest; If you get in late at night and have to take a taxi from the airport (Haneda to Sunroute Plaza was about 11,000 Yen!!); not the friendliest staff in the world.
The hotel is near Shinjuku-Station, good for sightseeing. The room was clean and the staff friendly. The minibar/fridge does noises, which is a bit annoying at night. Also the handling (temperature) in the shower could be better. Maybe some more products like bodycream would be nice.
Overall a good stay but a bit expensive for the services.
Accommodating to English speaking guests. Clean rooms, but somewhat disappointed that our non-smoking room had a bathroom that really stank of smoke. It was better when we had the towels swapped out and it was cleaned.
One of the best hotel experiences I've had. 5 star service at 3 star prices. No detail was overlooked and the staff were very professional, helpful and friendly.
The location of this hotel is really good. Centrally located in Shinjuku with the bonus of the subway stop. The drawback is was the staff. We asked that they phone on 2 occasions to make reservations and that seemd to be a issue. We also seemed to have a ticking sound from the bedframe light after you turned it off for 20 minutes each night we were turning in. Not that other hotel rooms are much cleaner but you could tell they did not move chairs to vacuum the floor. (found a used wrapper when we moved the chair. Avoid getting the meal tickets. The breakfast is not worth the time.
Location is very very good, closest to Shinjuku Station which is very convenient (especially if you need JR trains for JR Passes). Rooms are much smaller than western type hotels, which is not a big problem if you don't mind. Service has been good, staff very helpful and attentive
Clean rooms. Small, as it is so common in Japan. Nice personel. Also for Europeans there is something at breakfast; not the typical things you would otherwise know from the hotel breakfast, but you get full. Fresh fruit and fresh juices are also available. Of course you can take the Japanese breakfast as usual. The location of the hotel is perfect. In less than five minutes walk you are at the Shinjuku station from where you can reach everything in Tokyo :-)
A very good hotel in an excellent location (a few minutes walk from Shinjuku train, buy and metro stations). Rooms are sound proof and the breakfast is a huge choice buffet. Could be a bit expensive for a long stay.
Great accommodations and staff, very helpful, and a convenient location - from Shinjuku Station you can get anywhere quickly, and it s walking distance to great food, shopping and nightlife spots.
The hotel is reasonably close to the non JR train and approximately 10 minutes walk to the JR station and main shopping area. It is relatively convenient but there are steps that you have to carry your luggage if you are going to the JR trains. It's is also 15 minutes walk away from the 24 hr donquito(don donki)
This hotel is 1 of the few rare hotel that offered English channels in Japan.
The rooms are quite clean but is still the typical small Japan hotel. The room is also well equipped.
Rooms are sized per Japan standard. Have stayed in the economy double, standard queen and standard twin room. I think for the price point between these three rooms, I would choose the queen room as it's not as cramped, yet there is enough space for two people to move around with a few pieces of luggage.
The location is absolutely perfect! Anywhere in the Shinjuku area is just less than 10 mins away. The JR station literally a three minute walk so travelling within the city is easy. The highway bus terminal is also a short walk away. This is my go to hotel in Tokyo!
The unfriendlyness of one staff member was very impressive. The room was leaking and the cleanliness was not good enough. Two other stars are good because they were good
I went to lunch buffet. If it is reasonable by the hotel lunch buffet, it will be a reasonable dessert with a reasonable menu, but this hotel is cheap and the quality of the food is very good. The waiter waitress was also very smart and smiley and wonderful.
Great hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location, near Shinjuku station which is an interchange for a lot of subway lines make it very convenient to travel around Tokyo.
