Dona Sylvia Beach Resort Review

Great beach resort with a very Goan feel. Only improvement could be if they provide their own beach beds as well.

Great experience here. The food is really good here and the head chef takes really good care of your needs. My old parents were very well.looked after by him and he is a real asset to this hotel. The rooms were cozy and everything else was great. Main concern is food wherever we stay but here it was well taken care and we are coming again soon. Thank you team.

Overall its an average resort. Staff services are okay. Security service is normal.

Staying is good, not much activities or games organized. Very good rooms and the ambiance if you just want to enjoy privacy ..

We had gone for Sunday brunch and what a lovely day to spend in the pool, good food and entertainment. Recommding for family as well as friends.

A nice resort but I would query the 5 star rating. Nice lay out and proximity to the beach is fantastic. The food at the hotel was also very good with an amazing spread for breakfast each day. I just feel that the rooms were a bit of a let down. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

This is the most beautiful resort I have been to.
The staff is too kind and helpful. The rooms are made as if there are small villas. The rooms are clean too. Besides there is a big pool , conference and party hall,Buffet dining hall , gardens, sports area and much more.
The beach is near to the resort.
The estate is full of coconut trees , waterfall , fountain green grass etc.
The foo here is mind blowing and very tasty.
You have many options to eat.
This is a must visit place.

Stay was very comfortable. Staff well trained and cordial. Breakfast was great. Only goanese menu was good. Overall a nice and comfortable stay. Vicinity to the beach is very convenient. Swimming pool was good.

Possibly best place in GOA to get married. We got married here, and we received great support from the staff. They were very helpful, polite and curious. They never said no for anything we wanted to do, and always had a smile on their faces. Food is simply too good. Special thanks to the master Chef who created the menu based on our choice and taste. We had a great time here, and so did the 150+ guests who came to our wedding. Great job guys, and keep up the good work.

What could be improved
1. Greater attention to detail by the Resturant manager as well as staff for elementary aspects such as availability of water for guests when they occupy a table , clearing of used plates as and when it happens .
2. Reception staff to be mindful of the fact as to the details of guests arriving and should NEVER EVER outrightly Express that they have no clue regarding the reservation. These days reservations are done through multiple mediums , onus lies on the Hotel administration to keep all the necessary details .
3. In case reserved rooms are not ready by the time the guest arrives , reception staff to be ready to handle the guests in a courteous manner . It is to be remembered that guests are looking forward to relaxe in the room after the journey and not hang around in the reception lobby .

I am the current 2nd generation of my family who visits this hotel.. its amazing hospitality plus nice staff too.

A starred property is supposed to be responsible for the guest and their belongings. While Novotel Dona Sylvia is a beautiful property, it is manned by thieving staff. My gold ring was stolen from a purse by my bedside in the last 24 hours of my stay. I travel and stay in star hotels on a fortnightly basis and this has never ever happened to me anywhere in the world.While I can accept my fault in implicitly trusting the staff who had access to my room to complete their duties, what astounded me is their utter lack of support in communicating with me. Despite multiple follow ups with Ms. Gita from Guest Relations and Mr. Khosla, GM of the property, my calls have either gone unanswered or with a brief we are investigating . There has been no apology, no acknowledgement from their end. I would caution anyone considering their stay here, to not leave their valuables unattended even for a second. It is with great sadness that I can confirm this - that once your stay ends and the monies paid, Novotel Dona Sylvia considers itself as owing no accountability or responsibility for anything that may have happened to you or your belongings while you were residing at their property.

The typical boring star resort where the beach is a km away, the service at the restaurants are trying and the fare not Goan.

An excellent abode to spend good time with your near and dear ones.. peaceful living and direct exit in the beach makes it all in one destination for me and my peers.

Awesome and huge property, beach is just walkable from the property. Food was delicious and so the ambiance.

Not a major issue but just an add on- Rooms should have atleast a bath tub or Jacuzzi considering the class and standard of the property.

A once upon a time place that was alive has gone dead for reasons best known to the management.

I think this is the best property in Goa. The hospitality of entire Team Members are awesome.
