Great location if you plan on visiting Disneyland ...

Great location if you plan on visiting Disneyland and California Adventures, especially with small children that may need a nap. Guests staying in the hotel have access to the magic hour at the park, which allows you to go in 1 hour before it is open to the public. Magic hours vary on days (either Disneyland or California Adventures). The Fantasy Tower rooms facing the entrance of the hotel allow fireworks viewing at night (channel 16 for the music that accompanies the fireworks). The tiki lounge next to the swimming pool serves dole whips (regular and with rum).

First impressions are the most important. The Disneyland Hotel failed miserably in this respect. When we first arrived we were not greeted very well. We were not told to drive up to the hotel rather we parked and hauled everything including kids at 7 am from the self parking to the front entrance. No bell hop offered to help. No clue why the parking attendant didn't tell to come to the front. The woman at registration was professional, but hardly Pleasant. She didn't smile ask us how we are at 7 a. m. with our kids or welcome us to the Hotel and Disneyland. When we asked for an upgrade she didn't bother looking for anything she just said there's nothing. She didn't tell us about any amenities restaurants or features of the Disneyland Hotel and Parks. I specifically told her that this was our first time and she still kind of looked at me with a blank stare. Fast forward a few hours and I ended up hauling all of our luggage and our strollers and everything else we had with us across the entire Resort myself because, yet again, the bellhops didn't seem to know that we were there. The rooms themselves look a lot like a Ramada inn. There is definitely no feel that you are at a luxury marque at this hotel. The rooms are small dark and dated, carpeting is from casinos from the 1980s and 90s and a little worn out. None of the finer appointments or amenities that you would expect at a five star or Disney hotel exist in this hotel. I have heard that across the way at the new California Adventureland hotel it is much more up to speed. Now the good: the hotel is conveniently located near the monorail and outside entrance of downtown Disneyland which will get you into Disneyland very quickly in the morning. Later in the day, there was a very nice woman at Guest Services that was very kind to our children gave them books and balloons and helped us find our way around the resort restaurants and reservations. She displayed the level of attention and professionalism that I expected at a Disneyland Resort. I regret not having made my reservation at the California Adventureland Hotel. I definitely won't come back to the Disneyland Hotel itself, but we'll come back to this area in general.

We had just gotten of a 6 hour flight from the east coast and an 2+ hour drive from LAX. Everyone in the family was tired and gross and wanted a shower. When we got to the room the shower was broken, then the hotel staff downgraded our family to a smaller room. The man the helped us, Gabriel, tried as hard as he could to keep our spirits up. He was great. But the actual hotel itself was not the best.

Room was nice but not great for the price. Wouldn't allow late check-out even though we had to wait until 3pm to check-in. Had to escalate twice to get them to allow check-out moved from 11am to 1pm.

Make sure you pay a visit to Trader Sam's whether you are staying at the hotel itself or not. A wonderful tiki bar that feels hidden away from everything else. They also often have lovely live music outside.

Location is very convenient for Downtown Disney and Disneyland, pool was nicely maintained with plenty of lifeguards, and rooms were adequate. Only complaint was the ignoring of the "Do not disturb" sign by room service when he woke us at 6:30am to provide us a box of tissues we never requested. I think I'll go somewhere with a better value next time.

Great!

The Disneyland hotel is one of my favourite hotels in the Disneyland Resort area. From the moment you enter the hotel the Castmembers make you feel welcome.

There are three towers each with their own theming. The main one is the Fantasy tower. This is where check-in is located along with two shops, a restaurant and lots of historic Disneyland photographs and artefacts to look at. There is also an adorable teacup inspired seating area. The Adventure tower is the closest to Downtown Disney and the Frontier tower is located at the rear of the property but is my favourite due to its theming.

There are many dining options from a coffee shop to the popular Trader Sam's with its Polynesian inspired food and drinks.

Lastly, there is a large monorail themed pool area with two sections. One side which has the main pool and hot tub whilst the other has waterslides that's are more geared towards children.

Stayed at the Adventure tower and it was a nice room over looking the pool. Great place for a family to stay with plenty of room. Had an issue with the fridge in the room but it was taken care of promptly.

What a great place to stop for drinks with friends. Our Fast Pass wasn't for a couple of hours, so we went to Trader Sam's at the Disneyland hotel to enjoy some drinks and catch up. Great atmosphere and the bartenders were very friendly.

Excellent friendly service. Lively modern retro rooms. Excellent views and convenience to the resort. Great pool to relax in the afternoon. Wonderful beds in premium rooms. What can I say.... it's like living at Disneyland.

The hotel has been great! The cast/staff was able to get us checked in early, even though the hotel was sold out. The room is clean and spacious. The convenient access to Disneyland is great, though it's not entirely enough to justify the price. Should budget allow, I'll definitely stay in a Disney hotel in the future, but most trips will likely be elsewhere.

This is for Goofy's Kitchen. Great selection of foods, especially for the kids. Character interaction is fantastic. Price is a bit much for what you get in my opinion, and I detest forced gratuity even before you've received any service. That's not how tipping is supposed to work.

Very nice hotel, super clean and most staff is friendly and helpful. Asked to have the room cleaned early and they were very helpful in providing that. My only complaint is it is under themed and decorated for a Disney resort, I would prefer more of a theme carried throughout considering it is a Disney hotel.

Customer service is good. Proximity to the park is good. The hotel itself could use fresh paint in the rooms, and one reading light was out of order. The restaurants at the hotel could be better. But at least downtown Disney is right there.

I went to visit a friend at the hotel for about 10 minutes. Afterwards we went to dinner at the Story Tellers Cafe. It was a mutual friend's birthday. Service throughout the whole park for my < 3 hour visit was great.

As an avid Disney fan, I love staying at the DL hotels. We have an issue with our carpet. It is soaking wet by the desk area out to the walk through. They brought a big fan it, that was so loud we couldn't even hear. We left and left it running for a few hours. When we got back the fan was gone but the floor is still wet. Ugh!!
