We paid extra for a room with a canal view, but they gave us a dungeonous room on the first floor. They were able to move us for the second night of our stay. If you're staying here, I'd recommend paying for a canal view room and double checking with them before you arrive.

Hotel was very nicely located overlooking the canal. Room was surprisingly spacious (spacious being a relative term since we just got off a ship). Staff was very professional, provided great suggestions for restaurants and gave great directions for the sites we wanted. They loaned us an adapter for the electric service as well as a converter. Overall, very pleased with the hotel, with the highlight being the third floor canal view.

Great location, wonderful staff. We got 2 rooms. First was on the 2nd floor. A little old but had canal views, low beams and very cosy. Second room was on the 3rd floor corner. Amazing views of the canal. Bright and modern room. I'll be staying here again next time!

Great place... Highly recommend. Was in the heart of everything. Our room overlooked the intersection... Was a bit noisy because of where it was but it was a great experience. Shower was great with awesome water pressure. Bed was comfortable. Everything was very clean.

Interesting hotel with rooms with character and charming features like exposed beams large windows and canal views. Only issue is no elevator and the stairs are very narrow and steep so if that is a problem call ahead and get a lower floor.

Outdated and very overpriced. Unfortunately Amsterdam Hotels don t need to keep a high standard since the demand is enormous... too many tourists and not enough beds.
For the price I paid it should have been much better! Disappointing.

Awesome hotel! We upgraded to the top-floor canal-view room in the old part of the hotel. Unfortunately can only get the lift part way to the rooms and have to carry bags the rest of the way - which involves fairly steep steps. But if you're in a standard room, it's no problem. Staff are very friendly. Bit strange you have to hand your key in to reception every time you leave the hotel, but at least there's no risk of losing it.

Very central. Seemed clean. Bed comfortable. All amenities good. Even had a touch screen ipad device although this didn't work. Staff were all very friendly, and they let me sit and work in lobby to kill time. Only downside, which is true of all hotels in old Amsterdam buildings, is you can hear doors banging and footsteps and sometimes voices at all times of night.

Beautiful hotel in a very popular area of Amsterdam. The location is ideal for exploring the city. The rooms are reasonably priced, clean, beautifully decorated. The breakfast is over-priced, but tasty and convenient. The staff is so very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Location is good, bathroom has a little old feeling of use, but water pressure of shower is strong
There is also a bathtub. Speaking of which slippers are provided, and a free mobile phone was also convenient.

Good location, not large like a typical north American standards, but more Then good enough to have a memorable stay. Overall good, they had a free tour of Amsterdam option for their stay, I wasn't impressed with the service company they went with as the tour guide harassed us for money for giving us a substandard tour.

Nice little hotel in a pretty good location. Close enough to everything to walk or bike easily, but far enough away your not immediately in the midst of everything. Would definitely stay in same area again. Dikker & This is a nice hotel, staff is nice and recognizes you pretty quickly as guests as you come and go thru the city. Our room was pretty simple and the hotel did not seem crowded. We could hear other rooms at certain times, sound seems to echo a bit. But it didnt bother us any, but I know some light sleepers it would probably bother. Good experience overall and would recommend to anyone.

Superb hotel conveniently located in the center of Amsterdam, overlooking the Prinsengracht from some of the rooms. These are spacious and very well equipped. Rich Dutch buffet breakfast. Direct tram access from Central Station and many restaurants nearby. I recommend this address for a pleasant and carefree stay in Amsterdam.

If you would like to save time reading lots of reviews please let me warn you that this is exactly the kind of boutique hotel to avoid.

I prefer to stick to facts and will do so in short with details as I experienced them. This venue itself and the location are great however the amenities and service from the staff do not fit hotel description. My first astonishment was with the advertised room service. There was none. Each employee at the hotel will tell you something different with regards to room service. This appears to be an issue with leadership and organization. It didn t help that the phone in the room didn t work either. The staff all had different answers for this as well none of which were helpful.

I thought there would be Nespresso in the room as again this was indicated online. It turns out this is a bait-and-switch. My "comfortable" room is an unfortunate one indeed!

It was additionally frustrating to find that bottled water or extra beverages are not available at the hotel after the housekeeping staff has left for the day. Hence I can only describe it as a fake four star hotel, cutting too many corners and a lacking professional management.

After four nights of my stay I was finally able to speak with a manager about the room service and coffee issues. She honestly didn t care to hear anything about it, was very aggressive and even had the nerve to ask me my profession.

An experience I do not wish on anyone .book elsewhere!

Ok
