Nice zoo that definitely seems to be in trouble with their animals. All animals looked good and satisfied.

The zoo is clearly concerned with sustainability (found on their website). They try to use as much renewable energy / self-generating. It is like unpacking the oceanarium and rightly so! There are so many solar panels that they stay cool with the penguin.

At the time of the visit just matured polar bears were separated from their mother. One of them was diving in the water and "playing" with the children at the window. Suddenly swimming upstairs and diving in front of the window, hanging on to it (I wonder how he did it) and throwing up water. However, his brother was running around nervously at the edge of the loft and calling for the mother. Too bad thing, but of course understand that this is their good for the animals.
The island with monkeys was also nice to see. They were accidentally fed by the caretakers, who gave each monkey food by hand, and for some, medication or the like was injected. It was especially funny to see how some monkeys went out of their way to get extra food (either by throwing or trying to steal it). Good work of carers, each monkey so in order to keep!

Too bad it is so far ahead of Belgians, but I'll definitely be back!

Enige minpunt: Collectie kon beter.

Blijdorp doet ontzettend veel aan educatie en concervatie! Veel vrijwillgers zetten zich 100% in voor blijdorp. Je ziet dat de verzorgers echt van hun werk genieten. Was heel leuk om te zien.

staat zeker in mijn top 10

Zeker een aanrader!!

Great zoo, subscription for the whole family for years. Come there for more than 40 years. Much changed over the years, but only more beautiful and adventurous. Every time a beautiful experience. Zoo continues to innovate and great for the animals other European zoos can learn a lot from this.

Most of the beautiful animals such as gorillas, tigers, giraffe and lions are challenging to see, very crowded and expensive. The park for children to play is very nice, the gardens are nice and it is pleasant to walk around.

T looked neat, but many of the accommodations were quite small. For example from the jaguar, tigers, rhinoceroses, polar bear. That creates boredom and animals that continuously walked the same path. Some of the accommodations were very old. Time for renewal. The newer lodgings generally looked good. The aquarium is beautiful. For me one of the least animal-friendly zoos I have visited.

Awesome place with kids. The aquarium is v nice for kids from 1 year olds. Ample play areas if kids get bored n nice restaurants to eat. If you get tired of walking use the mini train to go to the other side. Wheelchair is available and also strollers for kids by paying minimum amount. Nce place for kids and adults. You need an entire day to cover the whole zoo. Ample parking place and very friendly staff.

Close this old-fashioned zoo is outdated !!!!

Close this old-fashioned zoo is outdated !!!!
Makes it a city park that better in place there.
A really disappointing staff is very unmotivated
no road evidence ring through the park many empty old lofts.
Where the animals have to live and are stressed.
Cars parked in the parking lot.
Was very disappointing definitely not recommended to go there !!!!

Wonderful to walk around, there is plenty to see, of course the animals but also the beautiful garden and for the children fun playgrounds. And also not unimportant cozy terraces where you can also relax.

Beautiful park, animals look good physically and mentally, friendly staff and plenty of dining options. It is a pity that you can not pin everywhere if you want to buy something. You must always have cash in your pocket ..

Loved every bit it. The Aquarium (Ocenia) is the best part of the zoo. They have so many fishes, it is awesome.
The zoo is huge and has a great variety of animals. Surely worth a visit if you are in Rotterdam.

Very large zoo, excellent aquarium (better than sea life centre near The Hague) which makes the ticket price worthwhile. Parking expensive, 9. Onsite food could have more choice, but animal wise very good.

Large, old (historical), very well maintained zoo located close to the city center. Aquarium is huge and lots of indoor places for when the weather isn't that nice. Can easily spend a nice afternoon with the whole family at Blijdorp.

Grrrrrr

A beautiful zoo with relatively ok wheelchair accessibility. Assistance dogs are not allowed and no extra services for visually impaired or blind visitors available. Or for deaf people. Easy to reach with public transport. Next door accessible hotel van der valk blijdorp.
