The nicest and most beautiful zoo in the Netherlands !! And they do something to keep the living environment acceptable to the animals. Absolutely recommended!
A fun and accessible zoo for children. Maybe not the most beautiful in the Netherlands. But well set up and many educational components. Great for a day out. If you live in the fire, an annual subscription is also recommended.
Is and remains a nicely decorated animal park. We were there with staff day. You have to make a hedge yourself and luckily I had a few colleagues who did their best for that
Blijdorp .. Always nice. Whatever the weather, there is always something going on. Various stalls, restaurants or food trucks in high season. A bit on the price, but great quality.
It's a lovely, kids-friendly zoo with a lot of interesting exhibits, quality places to eat and wildlife conservation programs. I spent a good 9 hours there last Saturday and still had things left to see and do at the end of it; just don't rush it and you can do so too.
Super zoo! We got an annual subscription last summer and have had a long time in terms of money. For example, if you want to go for an hour, it doesn't feel like a sin. The Oceanium remains the best for the little ones with all the fish and beautiful colors
The park has many new accommodations, but there is still room for renovation. A nice day out though. The free coffee / churros combi is poorly arranged. The only churro tent has no coffee.
There are special animal species and a beautiful bird show, but the park itself and many enclosures are very outdated and many animals are still in a very small enclosure.
The zoo is beautiful, but you pay the full day price for parking, even if you are only allowed 12:30 to 17:00. Many attractions are also closed and here you pay full price as admission.
Good variety of indoor and outdoor. The animals were inside a lot when we were there. Furthermore, a nice park with nice playgrounds and clear walking routes
Large variety of animals, great facilities, many nice opportunities to take breaks. Entry was cheap compared to similar zoos in Germany. The fifth star was almost reached ...
Quite nice, especially for small children. Many interactive things, such as large touchscreens in the aquarium and stuff. It's a pity that at the moment I went, some animals had been moved somewhere so we could not find them and some animals just were not there. Maybe this will soon be resolved, it was just something I noticed. Still worth the effort!
Because the paths are confusingly mixed, it is confusing in combination with the map. In our opinion the signs were not entirely correct. With the warm weather and the bright sun it is nice when the parasols work at the playground. Most were broken and not usable so you are forced to sit inside the restaurant and therefore have no view of the playground.
It was a good zoo with a lot of animals and fortunately they were looking quite healthy. Unfortunately for me I reached at a time when the Lions were asleep. Most of the remaining animals, the elephants, the polar bears, the komodo dragon, etc. were a treat to the eyes.
The reason I gave only 3 stars were 1. Many walkways were very narrow and with a baby stroller it became very difficult with people walking both ways. 2. In the Oceanium section the visibility of the sea lions and penguins was very poor because of water on the glass. One place which had this executed well was Ocean Park in Hong Kong.
Always nice to go to! Be on time at the weekend because it gets very busy very quickly. TIP: you park for free on the Kanaalweg and it is only a few minutes' walk.
Beautiful zoo with a modern look, but also nostalgic parts, preserving the original. These days this zoo is in the news because it is financially difficult. Disappearing / closing would be a sin forever.
Visited in corona time where it was fairly clearly indicated everywhere what the walking directions are. A small point of interest is the app where, if you follow the route through the entire park, you are running against the direction of the "one-way routes".
Furthermore, everything was well arranged corona-proof, both in the inner enclosures that were still open. The catering areas were also well looked after.
Where 1.5 meters was not observed, it was mainly due to the visitors who find lines on the floor very complicated ....
Nice zoo, where there is plenty to see. Even on a cold winter day, when many animals stay indoors, you can see enough. The quality of the restaurants is also good, with fairly normal "catering prices".
The animals are nice but then it stops. Let me start it is a shame that smoking is allowed where all those children are and where adults are annoyed. Furthermore, the drinking is far too expensive 3.50 for not a real coke or Fanta is disappointing and the food portions are quite small.
Many places with water that were not sufficiently deposited to prevent younger children from ending up in the water. Very busy and poor signage within the park. For my feeling I mostly walked around.
Cozy zoo, lots to see. The Oceanium is especially great. The feed presentations are also fun, but above all educational. If you are too tired to walk, get on the train and let yourself be driven to the other side of the park.
Beautiful zoo with enormous diversity of animals. The animals can be seen up close and can also be seen in several places of the enclosure. The highlight is the Ocianium and the Butterfly Garden.
Beautiful zoo, I enjoyed! A few marginal notes. Smoking in the park with so many children is no longer of this time. The food in the restorants can be a few times healthier, and gone with those candy vending machines!
Beautiful zoo where you at least spend a whole day pulling out to see everything. Have been coming here for 60 years and Blijdorp continues to surprise me with the constant improvements in livestock and animal welfare.
Nice zoo, cozy atmosphere and beautiful accommodations where not only visitors are thought of but also animal welfare. The zoo is renovating, so the old predator enclosure is not available / inhabited. What I regret is that you have to pay separately for the train that runs through the garden. All in all, the visit is well worth the money. Recommended.
Surprisingly good zoo. They are really trying to give you 'encounter' experiences. It is possible to put your hand in the 'river' containing piranhas, it is possible to touch a sort of hamsters but it comes with a warning that these animals bite. The best experience came from a close encounter of the first kind with two playing icebears, but here we luckily enjoyed the protection of thick glass :-)
