An excellent few days. The hotel creates an overall wonderful experience and is not overly "stuffy" . The staff and management are completely committed to their guests and read all situations well. I cannot praise them any more.

Parking was easy. Service from arrival, check in throughout the stay including the restaurant and breakfast was faultless. Food in the Andrew Fairlie was excellent, room was great. Why only 4 stars then? A room, dinner and a few drinks for More

My girlfriend gave me as an anniversary present a night at the Gleneagles hotel. She was preparing the surprise in advance and I know that she was really excited.

She booked a car to pick us up at the train station and also she arranged a wee detail to have ready in the room for our arrival.

But anything went as planned.

When we arrived to the train station no-one was there waiting for us.

We waited 5 minutes but nothing, at the end we had to call to the hotel to make someone come, having the consequence of being waiting in the cold during 20 minutes.

We did the check in and when we enter in the room, we didn't have anything special.

My girlfriend had to go back to the reception to asked for it.
But here it comes the worst, after she explained the situation, she waited 15 minutes at the reception to receive an answer, and when they came back to her seemed like they didn't believed her and she has to show her personal email with the answer of the hotel saying that they will take care of it.

In the meanwhile one of the concierge was whispering and pointing her about the situation.

In the end we receive a wee bottle of champagne, with dirty glasses.

Apart of all of this things, both of us we had to answer to the question made from different members of the staff: Do you work here? at least 3 time

Why?
Because I don't wear expensive clothes or I don't look rich?

I really felt not welcome at all, we felt treat in a different way just because of our appearance and our way of be.

Also, we share the car to arrived to the hotel with a girl from Nigeria that was going to have a work interview and it was so clear how the driver ignore her or even interrupted her sentences to not allowed her to talk.

After the treatment we received and what we saw around I can honestly say that their kindness and welcoming is directly proportional to the money that you have or you looked you have.

Our expectations were completely others, consider the money that you expend to be in the best 5 start hotel in Scotland.

We were expecting not have to take care of anything, not to call to the hotel to be pick up, not to have to request what they offer to us and of course not to clean the champagne glasses.

Also, both we work in the hospitality industry and we know how it works but during the dinner we just felt surround by tips seekers, being even rude trying to upsell and interrupting all the time.

In resume, to choose the Gleneagles hotel to celebrate our anniversary wasn't the best idea because of the non care, the way that they made us feel and how they ruined the surprise.

Played golf on the Queens course thanks to Turkish Airlines but I've got to say that everything about the day was perfect. Staff were amazing and so friendly in both the clubhouse and the hotel!

Incredible. The hotel itself has a very impressive presence as you drive in and it's grandure continues equally inside. However, this is not a stuffy place. For all it's beauty and Elegance, you do not feel unwelcome even in jeans and trainers! (Although u may be asked not to wear trainers in some of their more refined restaurants) the staff are completely lovely and accommodating. They can't do enough for you. Very personable and easy to communicate with. Down to earth and open hearted. Staying here actually feels very homely!!! If you are in any doubt about staying, please trust me, it's worth every penny!.. p.s. my partner and I stade in the modern block, and the very realistic open (gas) fire in the bedroom is a really great touch, in the winter! Thank you Gleneagles!

This place is amazing. If you are ever lucky enough to stay there are so many things to do. Yes it's pricey but worth every penny. The golfing is out of this world and you are absolutely looked after. The food in the clubhouse is amazing.
