Very interesting to know the beginnings of Greece ...

The day when we arrive, was the greek independence day so everything was closed so we see it only trough the fence..but it has very historical breath if you go close to that
Contrary to what is indicated, the archaeological site is open, there has been a fire recently, but fortunately the site has not been affected by nature around it. The overall picture has therefore changed, Cyclopion walls are beautiful to see, as is the dome digging.
Incredible remains and incredible the door of the lions
Iconic stone doors, the site that survived thousands of years, seen glory and demise. Climb a short path to the first and second belvedere, remembering the famous quote from Henry Miller's "Colossus of Maroussi" on how gods walked the earth here in Mycennae.
Beautiful archaeological site, Unesco heritage. The entrance to the site takes place through the gate of the lions and the cyclopean walls. You can also observe the funeral club with the royal tombs and the ruins of the palace. Numerous gold objects, vases and jewelery have been found on this site.
Probably one of the most amazing sites of the entire trip. I cannot say enough about how cool the beehive temple/tomb was.
Historical and archaeological place to not lose it. You have to go
Mycenae a place With a long history and a great ancient treasure worth visiting
Long story ... but not enough reconstruction! In 1000 years it should be PERFECT.
All I have written about the Epidaurus Theater relates to Miken. You must visit if you are in Peloponnese.
I rather added that for the museum. They're older than I expected. Maybe that's why there's not much left. When I prefer construction.
The door is well preserved at his age (3300 years).
Must-see attractions in Lions Gate
Its mountain view is not bad
Beautiful and not difficult to reach, and transferable to everyone
Quite impressive place, if it weren't for the busloads of tourists.
Beautiful archaeological site and very interesting museum
One of the best places where everyone can be, small and big
A must see for someone interested in ancient culture. The ruins are in good shape - you can imagine how people lived in this place. It is worth to get a guide out here.
It is as left as the others, I have not invested a lot, despite earthquakes and antiquity, they can tell you what they want
from the fortress you can breathe an atmosphere full of history and experienced emotions. Truly a magnificent experience
Mycenae is great to visit. There is the famous Lion Gate. From the castle itself is not much preserved except walls and foundations. The big dome graves I really liked, definitely watch! :)
The archaeological sight of Mycenae is a unique monument, which has been enrolled in UNESCO list ,as a world heritage sight! The museum also great, must see !!
Nice view to the city and as well a great place for sunset.
The correct name is Mycenae and Google does not rectify it. It is a very important archaeological site from the historical and literary point of view but it does not impress from the aesthetic point of view and requires previous knowledge or a guide to understand well what is being seen. Even so, it is worth the visit, if only to see the famous Puerta de los Leones and see the view over the Argos plain.
Mycenae is the key site of the Mycenaean culture that flourished from 1600 to 1200. In the Iliad it s the only city state, next to Orchomenos, to be called a City of Gold , and with a good reason. The remains at Mycenae are mainly LHIIIb (13th century BC) when the Mycenaeans were at the height of their power, and the remains show this. The massive Cyclopean defence walls with a thickness up to 8 meters, the elaborate Megaron palace and of course the majestic Lion Gate, the first piece of monumental sculpture in proto-historic Europe. This is THE place to go for every lover of Homeros and Mycenaean architecture. The only downside is that it s super crowded in the summer season, with busses full of ignorant tourists, wanting to have a quick fix of early European history. The best moment to visit Mycenae is in the late season in the early morning, with a little luck you ll have the site for yourself for an hour or two.
Fabulous, we feel the ancestral way of life of the time! To see a day in his life. The site is huge and well documented. Do not forget to go see the end of the site at the top, it's great. Privilege late afternoon or very early in the morning before the horde of tourists arriving by bus crowded. The visit of the remains around is also worth seeing.
One of the most important archaeological sites to visit.
Everyday you will meet many schools, tourists of many tourists.
Excellent the renovated museum, operating at European standards (look for guided tours, are very detailed).
Place where you can breathe history. Exciting. To visit.
The story in all its glory and its remarkable walls are amazing !!!
It is worth visiting the underground well that is well hidden and was the secret of the citadel for its endurance in the sieges !!!
i loved it, there food was amazing and the views of the mainpand was stunning. i love the rich culture and all of the different places and ruins. i would definately go again, 5 stars!!!
Amazing archeological site. It is definitely worth visiting to form an image of the Mycenaean civilization. The best time is early in the morning. Avoid visiting at noon in the summer. The museum was also very good. For the above the five stars.
However, I also identified some problems that I record so that they may be taken into account by those responsible: a) poor maintenance of outdoor areas (no pesticides) probably due to lack of funds for people with disabilities who have no access there. c) It is unacceptable for the vaulted tomb of Atreas to smell of pimples, especially at noon with 35 degrees Celsius. I could not stand a single minute. It is a shame that people from the other side of the earth are visiting the place to face such a situation. Obviously this was done because the area is not adequately supervised. Premises must be inspected and cleaned regularly. d) When the entry price changes, it would be good to print new signs and not to stick paper with tape. I stop here and I hope to see some improvement next time ...
I expected a higher care to the ruins of Mykines after visiting Olympia. However there's not much to see apart from the well-known gate and the marvellous view from the top of the acropolis.
Archeological if you like, if not beyond the past, a lot of # pebbles #
Impressive excavations of ancient civilization! There is a museum on the territory of the entrance costs 6 euros
A great treasure of our culture! We wish to honor and care to visit them more often ... What history does this land have in Greece?
A very very nice place and the history of this place...
The place is spectacular. To think that there happened so many important events that later forged what is known as Western civilization, it impresses.
Not to be missed...
From the top of this door, 2,500 years of history
Every time I go back visiting Mykini I find something new in one of the places the most drenched in mith and history.
I think that it's not just worth a visit but if you don't go there while in Greece you miss a part of the true spirit of that land
Archaeological Euro very well preserved with attached museum and audio guide that explains in a very comprehensive way the civilization of Mycenae.
I'm so thrilled that we actually managed to get to this ancient site.
Well organized with bathrooms, bar and little museum shop.
It's much easier to arrive at the top than anticipated.
Impressive for the antiquity and organizational capacity of a city, more than 3 thousand years ago. Don't forget to visit the cistern at the north end of the city.
It was interesting, but it's all ruins. Historians, archaeologists and hobby historians get their money. As a student you get in for free.
Impressive also because it is 3500 years old. Worth the effort.
The site of Mycenae is really to do! As well as his museum.
To visit at the end of the day when the tourist buses are gone
The place is magical, the problem is arriving there by public transport which leaves you very far away! I don't do organized tours
As with most ancient sites you re left with just some stones in the ground BUT the gate to the site with its carving is good AND you must head right from the entrance to see the burial chambers, one which is complete still. They are HUGE and very impressive. There is is also a complete one at the other site 300m down the road and included in your ticket.
We couldnt see cause Google had the wrong timetable!!!!
