Mycenae is definitely worth a visit if you have to deal with history and legends

Exceptional site. The castle of King Perseus with the famous Lion's Gate.

As in the rest of the sites, an audio guide is missing to explain the ruins, since there is hardly any information.
In the museum, however, there is an audio guide, although not in Spanish

You feel you are at the beginning of European culture

when you go to Greece and drive up to the place and they tell you we are closed on weekends you stop wondering why this country is in debt but hey its not like people who work in the week and have the weekends off would want to spend money to a bankrupt nation and same go for school kids so anyway Greece is bankrupt because they don't want to get out of debt!!! learn to work for the consumer not your own lazy times

Despite very nice experience the ancient of our ancestors amazingly. The monuments are well preserved. The place should have more care as there were a lot of weeds.

Of course go there! And help archaeologists without sufficient budget for our passion ... history!

The Mycenian ruins are absolutely amazing. A collection of many ruins from the bronze age and the artifacts in the museum make it worth it to climb up to the top of the mountain. Also the view from there is breathtaking. Would recommend.

Very beautiful well preserved door, to see when you come to Mycenae

What can we say: the climb to the city of myth and reality. Like the pyramids of Egypt in magnificence and grandeur, taking a trip to Agamemnon's house and crossing the city gate cannot fail to give strong emotions. And what a view from up there inside the circle of the Cyclopean walls, it seems to see in the gulf the ships of Paris the Trojan who kidnaps Helen, the most beautiful in the world.

It is good to be in this archeological site with a guide who is initiated in ancient Greek philosophy and knows the life of our ancient ancestors.
But if you can't do that, it doesn't matter. It is important to have visited the site, to take its energy and admire the view.

PS: I agree with the person in charge of the ticket. The employees are absolutely bored to talk .......

As we saw it was fantastic. He was traveling back in time! The Lion's gate dazzling. I was a little disappointed with the museum that was in it, because it did not have any informative printed material and definitely no guided tour. I think no one would have trouble paying a little more expensive to get an update. It is recommended to visit their space in the spring months due to heat.

It is a hill full of some rocks with beautifully landscaped paths. It s good to have some prior knowledge, to know what you re looking at. However, the history of Mycenaean civilization is very interesting and advanced.

Wonderful place immersed in the Greek hinterland. During the visit we find ourselves in close contact with history. A mandatory stop!

Impressive and spacious. There is a strong smell in the "treasury of atreus". The detour is not worthwhile, as there is also a very comparable grave on the Mycenae site.

Overpriced and crowded with tourists. A peek into the ancient history of a great civilization is now priced EUR 12 and you get to see the ruins. And there are thousands of tourists with you looking at the ruins and wondering what are they doing there under the blazing sun and 40 degrees heat. Tourist trap built by the government.

A beautiful archaeological site and museum, driving to the point of the area was easy and we found the place fast. Apart from the tomb of Agamemnon and another small part of the archaeological site, the rest of the area is completely accessible to people with mobility disabilities. The museum and archaeological site of Mycenae is enchanting and I really recommend it to those who want to visit it !!!

Beautiful archaeological site and nice museum in the same location. It's nice that you can visit the city of ancient Mycenae, the museum and the archaeological site of Atreas tomb with one ticket (6 if I remember correctly). The scenery around the site is beautiful most times of year ...might get hot in mid summer though.

The lioness gate gives access to the acropolis of Mycenae and the view is magnificent!

Splendid archaeological site. Attention to parking, small. And in the heat, there is little shade.

Unfortunately, not much remains, but it is certainly worth going with a good guide (also found in Italian).
There is also a nice museum dedicated.

Amazed that so much of one of the oldest mainland sites of Ancient Greece is still around. Well worth a visit.

The story, the one you see as a child on school books, you can touch it with your hand. The museum is not very rich, but a place not to be missed

It didn't look much and considering the number of tour buses, the blazing hot sun, the uphill slog and the 12 euro entry we decided it was enough to view from the car park. I would say only for true lovers of ancient greek ruins. To be honest it looked like 90% rubble.

Greece is full of history. Mycenae make it possible to come into contact with it.

Recommended to spend 1-2 hours at least. Check the ruins for half an hour and then to the museum, it's a great educational experience.

The archaic site of Mycenae is obviously unique. To see preferably early morning or evening from 18 hours (especially summer).

A place that enchants those who love archeology. Looking at it well it brings you back to that time despite those walls are over 4000 years old

Stopping here was a dream come true. It is only a short drive from Corinth so it is feasible to include in a day trip. And it is so worth it! There are beautiful views and ancient history at every turn.

Major place for human history and its fundamental myths. Impressive in appearance, history, but also in the harsh, wild, desert beauty of the mountains. It's like you're in the Atkas Mountains in North Africa.

Going to Greece and going back beyond 2,500 years is putting too much imagination on the trip. Too many ruins. It is expendable. Before there is Olympia, Delphos or Meteora. Interesting but expendable.
