It's very nice, getting to know such old and interesting place. They museum also give a pretty nice overview of what life would have been like and the ways of the people. There are even some olive trees around. Great for one to one and a half hours.
An impressive site, well restored. There are many objectives to see, but not all are very well explained. In certain sectors there are no alleys, banks. The museum is very well organized, with many interesting exhibits.
The story, the one you see as a child on school books, you can touch it with your hand. The museum is not very rich, but a place not to be missed
Very beautiful door
Access is very easy compared to 25 years ago with a concrete driveway that spoils a little rustic effect in my opinion
The site is a well maintained archeological treasure from Bronze Age Greece. The ruins dominate a prominent hill and the surrounding area. The Mycenaeans has close economic ties with the Minoan and Egyptians. It is about a 90 minute drive from Athens.
One of the historic landscapes of our homeland that make you proud. The Palace of Agamemnon. very beautiful archaeological site that travels you, at least some time in your life you should visit it.
When the Greeks were building Mycenae, the peoples of Europe had not come down from the trees !!
I was expecting a ruined ruin and it turned out to be one of the best ancient attractions in the Peloponnese. The checkout service was very nice.
After passing the mythical gate of the lions, go up to the Royal Palace and looking towards the Argo fortress you can see the fires that announce the return of Agammemnon ..... here you walk in the myth
All incredible. It is a leap of the heart to think of the stories that have passed through these remains.
Fascinating as always to see live the gate of the lions
One of the most important archeological sites in Greece.
Very interesting if you know the background and the story
Careful archaeological site, spotless, but be sure to stock up with a hat and a bottle of cold water before starting the tour especially during the summer months
A most unbielievable site from the burrial chamber to the top of the citadel. With one of the best mid-sized museums in Greece. I would recommend the use of a local guide.
Nice site together with the tomb of Agamemnon makes you dream because it is isolated on the hill and in the environment as millennia ago.
Interesting ancient greek fortress and ruler seat in the mountains.
Nice, but in the end there is not much. If you don't have a guide, maybe it makes little sense to go
Beautiful place with nice views 12 admission ticket
The stories are more interesting than the fallen monuments but then, what could one expect from something 4000 years old
One of the most magical places in Greece. Going through the door of the lions is impressive. It is easy to visit by public transport from Nafplio. The visit takes at least half a day. Highly recommended.
The place may be historical, but a pile of stones remains. A largely concrete reconstruction.
It has the beautiful gate and the vaulted tomb or else the cache of Atrea's treasure
A fortress like no other. A must see for mythic Greece fanatics. Very preserved considering the age of the construction.
Fantastic place to feel back in time, with Agamemnom and the heroes of Odissey
Very good suggestion for an excursion, nice place with lots of finds, there is also a museum with exhibits
unfortunately there is not much left except for the foundation walls. The museum is very worthwhile. Its architecture alone with the panoramic windows is impressive!
Interesting! Authentic exhibits of such an old civilization ...
*Warning/please read* We ve been here a few days ago. We ve had our car broken into and laptop and passport stolen. We parked on the official parking lot. It was around noon, there was even a snack truck and no signs of breakage. This happened to other visitors as well. There are people who steal from cars at popular historical sights. Do not leave anything valuable in your car! Be careful it almost ruined our vacation. We were lucky that the police caught the thieves but I m sure these are not the only people doing this kind of thing.
The site itself was pretty but as with most Greek historic sights, it s mostly a walk-through and look at it from a distance. There aren t many descriptions at the site itself, so it s hard to know how what you re looking at is significant. I would strongly recommend downloading a guide before.
