This archaeological site is large and very interesting to do. Visit the museum if you do not have time to go see the original parts in Athens

Mycenae is a captivating site that time travels you back millennia. It's history is recorded in Homer's illiad but goes back much further. The site itself is very well preserved given its age but most of the signage is missing making for a lacking experience. Head to the museum after to see astonishingly well preserved and ahead of their time artifacts. Overall a good value and not incredibly busy.

The link between the past and the present. One of the most amazing and mysterious structures of the past. Ancients claimed they were built by Cyclops (some boulders weigh over 100 tons) an amazing achievement even by present day standards.

Classical archaeological site to visit. Careful and well maintained. I was expecting the largest museum.

History! The mere thought of how they managed to build all this is breathtaking.
Visit it early in the morning before the mass of tourists and the heat arrive. Definitely worth a visit of at least 2 hours.
Take the time to go down to visit the water tank dug into the rock (use the light of the mobile phone)

Being on the Peloponnese is a must see. Cradle of civilization.

A grandiose place, dedicated to all lovers of antiquity. A fortress built by the Cyclops. A great museum, too.

Incredible archaeological site. Beautiful and fascinating

Impressive for the antiquity and organizational capacity of a city, more than 3 thousand years ago. Don't forget to visit the cistern at the north end of the city.

The interesting place, but after visiting Mystra city and Messina it wasn't so impressive. The price is 12 euros.

To visit. We feel very small in front of this city was built between the 13th and 15th century BC

I was there in the early 90's - Walking through the Lion Gate was traveling through time - historical and literary - A must for any Graecophile.

Such a great site to explore - the ruins, tombs , palace foundations and cistern. An adventure.

The tomb of King Mycenae witnesses the fall of the empire, but the story of the Trojan War continues to haunt the world

The setting is suggestive but a little lacking in content.

World history! Unfortunately we know very little. The visit to the museum is imperative, the impressive constructions for the time and the styles e.g. in other jewelry and in everyday items they are really inconceivable and of exceptional aesthetics. Many are insurmountable.

A beautiful place for those who like history. If someone expects something in the style of ruins in Ostia, you will be disappointed in the size and condition of the ruins. For me, tholos (burial place of kings) very well preserved, right at the entrance it is exceptionally beautiful, once almost all and two that great acoustic effects - I recommend stomping the foot in the middle ;-)

Before going up to the citadel, visit the Archaeological Museum located right at the foot of the citadel, where you can retrace the history of the excavations, the Porta dei Leoni will let you enter, cross the Cyclopean walls then the Royal Palace to climb up
at the Palazzo del Monaco. In Mycenae "rich in gold" mentioned by Homer, there is the Tomb of Clitemnestra or the treasure of Atreus, (also known as Tomb of Agamemnon) where the gold funerary mask of Agamemnon was found

Second visit but still breath taking. A must to see in Greece beside the Acropolis, Delphi and Messini.

It was a fun place to crawl around in and great to expend the energy of my 5 yr old. He thought climbing on the rocksks was fun. Tolls to get there were expensive though!

The heart of Mycenae civilization! I went to see Shishimon. The size of the scale, the beauty of nature and the preservation of the ruins are excellent. The ruins are located on a high hill, and from the hill you can see the beautiful waters of Argolis Bay, Polis Argos, Agamemnon's mountains (like Agamemnon lying mountains), and a beautiful basin surrounded by mountains. You can see the snowy mountains (Olympus?) In the west. In addition, Agamemnon's wife Cruty Nestora and Aegistos's tomb, and a treasure trove of Atreus near the entrance (the entrance resembles the Shishimon Gate).
People who like Greek mythology and history are encouraged to go.
Before going to Greece, I think the 112 myths who are helpful myths are King God 2 Hercules 3 Gorgon Medusa 4 Agamemnon 5 Minos?

Wonderful archeological site, nice museum! Amazing view ... something I knew that the ancients built the palace there!

Place where you can breathe a thousand-year history. Even in December he shows his classic splendor without embarrassment.

Once again we paid for an expensive ticket ... gentlemen of TAP this must stop ... does the Ministry of Culture listen?

Fantastic experience in the acropiles of Agamemnon. The old Mycenaean strong fortress is accessible only by private means, there are no connections from the nearby phicti. The site is magnificent and the view is breathtaking. The attached museum is well-stocked, but nothing to write home about

Very beautiful and tranquilizing place, especially when you reach the top. There is a short cut path coming down.

Please do something with the stragglers, it is unacceptable that the strays turn them into archaeological sites, the image we give to tourists is not the best
