While I did not get the chance to explore the park fully as we were riding a tour bus down the Parks Highway from Healy to Anchorage due to problems with the train tracks... I must say that even trapped on a bus with limited ability to stop, driving through the park was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen! If you're looking for adventure in the mountains, look no further, they've got you covered! I hope that someday we'll ve able to return and really explore the park and all it's beauty!

Beautiful park and reserve with a lot of opportunity for tourist adventures. There's a really good chance you'll see some interesting animals and an almost 100% chance you'll see some cool scenery.

The Denali mountain is awesomely huge and if you're lucky enough you can score a helicopter tour of it. There's camping available in the reserve as well, but you will want to book early.

Beautiful park with lots of wildlfe viewing opportunities. Don't expect to actually see Denali the mountain though. Tour guide said there is only about a 15% chance to actually see the mountain itself. But there is plenty to see beyond the one peak.

The park returned exactly what I had expected relative to my focus of nature photography in Alaska, in February. Miles and miles of scenery, endless opportunities to use the sunlight, snow, terrain and general weather to produce every kind of winter photos I could have imagined, and more. I'm posting many photos from the trip and I think that all were from the Denali park area. I have to admit.....it's kinda large :) and I couldn't quite tell where I was all the time.

We booked the green shuttle through the National Park Site. It cost us $27.50 each, plus $10 each for a park pass (refundable at the WAC if you already have a pass) to go in 53 miles to the Toklat river stop which takes about 6.5 hours if you stay on the bus. It is simply an amazing place. There are no power lines, no aircraft, and no commercial or private establishments. Nothing but wilderness. They do allow you to jump off the bus and take another if you wish to go for a walk, but they do stop a few time for bathrooms and viewings. We had a great time and I would highly recommend this to anyone. Also I suggest to book on your own versus signing up through cruises and tours as they charge significantly more for more or less the same thing.

The PLACE is amazing. The ONE star is because they charge you for each and every trip beyond the 15 mile mark. The bus trip to the 15 mile mark is free, or you can take your own vehicle. But if you want to go hiking or wildlife watching multiple days beyond the 15 mile mark. YOU PAY! EACH TIME.

Come on Denali, just charge a reasonable fee, once, then free bus trips thereafter for the week or month.

We did the 8-hour bus tour ( 4 hours in and 4 hours out). We got to see some beautiful country including a clear view of Denali for most of the afternoon. We were also able to see multiple bears, caribou, and moose.

Love this place. If you are taking a bus trip and are not from the area, pay the extra $$ for the tan bus (with a naturalist). If you want to to walk or hike go with the green buss.
Go all the way to Eielson. Savage rock loop is a great walk at MP15 (you can drive to, very limited parking). Enjoy!

The Whole Park is amazing. We took the 8 hour bus tour and it was great! the only down side is, if you take the tour on a rainy day, the mud splashes up on the windows from the tires and it's really hard to see anything, and if its rainy and cold the windows can get really foggy. They do have rest stops which have window washers there, but that only helps for a few minutes. besides that it was great!

Do the bus tour at least once! The trip is long, about 14 hours, but well worth it. There's 2 options, a narrated one with lunch provided, and a cheaper option where you can bring your own lunch, and the bus driver isn't telling the narrative.
You can drive by car 12 miles in to the park, and if you camp at Teklanika, you can drive the 29 miles in.

Beautiful park with the spectacular views you'd expect from the area. Plenty of guided hikes of various difficulty levels if you want a wilderness tour. Can't wait to visit again, but with better hiking gear next time. Very rainy in August.

7 Grizzlies, a bull moose, one Dall sheep, lots of caribou, and two foxes make an interesting day. The scenery is also stunning, even though the mountain never came out. God's creation is quite awesome!

It's Denali, so not sure how you couldn't be impressed. I got lucky and had very clear weather, so the mountain was entirely out most of the day, and had a great wildlife day, but even if you aren't that lucky it's hard not to be amazed by the scenery. We only went as far as Eielson, but I've heard great stories about views from Wonder Lake while camping. To get a sense, just head to the Savage River parking area and wander the loop trail there. Make sure to visit the sled dog kennel on the way back, some beautiful and friendly pups there.

The limitation on access due to buses only on the single road helps keep crowds in check, and with no trails, you just need to pick a point and start hiking. An outdoor wanderer's paradise you could easily spend weeks exploring.

Magnificent place! We got the privelege to see Mt. Denali from afar!

The Rangers were so informative and enthusiastic:)

We had a great experience at the Kennel house too and Dawn was so warm and friendly and we were able to meet and hug the dogs:)

Have a great location and ruin it with people coming off a cruise. Still plenty of great places WAY off the beaten path but you will have to work for them. Or go to Denali State Park across the street. Same wildlife a fraction of the people....

The view is very nice though there were close to no animals around despite the guarantee from the tour. It gives you a great view on the tallest mountain in northern America but after a while the landscape gets repetitive so I personally regret taking the 8 hour bus tour around the park.

I consider myself to be extremely fortunate to have a very clear day to witness the majesty of Denali in it's entirety. Also, our tour bus driver was very interesting and informative during our trip to the interior of the park

What an awesome experience!!!! You can't get this anywhere in the world. We saw moose and bears and a wolf and all kinds of land mammals. The staff is mostly awesome. Our tour bus lost the brakes. That wasn't great. But the driver stopped the bus and didn't try to limp back. I'm glad she didn't risk our lives. But we did walk a very long way. And several busses passed us while we didn't have a ride. I really thought the staff would have been more concerned about so many of us left without a ride. But eventually we did get on a bus again and get a ride back to the bus terminal. The plus side of our long walk was we made friends with some of the other stranded visitors and we saw some critters we wouldn't have seen if we were on a bus. All in all it was fantastic.

Just WOW!!!! Obviously if you love the outdoors, spectacular mountains, beautiful rivers, wildlife... we saw a female moose with two adorable babies by the side of the road...many hiking trails of different difficulty, this is the place to go. There are campgrounds, back country hiking, etc. We were there in mid June.
