Great customer service and very knowleagable staff. This was the 3rd store that I have visited looking for a bicycle and by far the best experience. Their salesman and maintenance people are amazing and very eager go help.

Loved that I was able to order a Trek Dual Sport 2 bike online like the one I have up north in Windsor, Ontario. Due to shortages and shipping delays I was incredibly happy that David's World Cycle had such a nice selection of bikes and inventory on so many items in store. The two-hour drive to pick it up was well worth it! I also picked up a good wavecel helmet that was not even available to me up north.

Colin was very helpful in the store when I went to pick it up, and Luke was so nice when he called me the night before my given available date to tell me my bike was ready. It took only five days after I ordered it for it to be ready for pick up!

And a follow-up email arrived from Luke the day after I picked up my bike to thank me for my purchase and let me know they will always be there for support. Thanks David's World Cycle for your friendly, professional, and efficient help to keep me biking while in Florida as a snowbird!

Amazing staff, attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I brought my complete vintage Trek road bicycle build here to be assembled and am so excited to finally be able to ride it within the next few weeks. Also brought my girlfriend's Cannondale in for tires, brake cables, tune-up and regular maintenance. If you're looking for a professional shop to care for your bike, this is the place!

Super friendly place! I was in the process of moving to Arizona and needed my Bike packaged and ready to go for shipment. Despite my lack of planning David s World Cycle came through and totally helped me out!! That extra touch of customer service already sets them apart.

I hit a fire hydrant with my Xcaliber and bent my rear wheel. I took it to another shop and was told it was " untrueable". I took my bike to this Trek store hoping to replace the wheel with the original Bontrager that came with it. Instead Jeff and Bryan (or maybe Ryan I'm bad with names). managed to fix it for me and saved me some bucks. My experience here was a good, will go back as needed.

We decided to come the Tampa location because the Lakeland location really did us dirty on our bikes that we had serviced. The employees were nice and willing to help you. They fixed all the issues the lakeland location was supposed to fix on top of other issues. Save yourself the headache and go to the Tampa location. You wont be disappointed. Great service department along with great customer service.

I could not be more pleased with David s World cycle, Tampa. I had two sources of help. One was Jay. I do not have enough nice things to say about him. He assisted me with finding the bike that I wanted. Next, was going to David s World Cycle in Tampa Florida Jacob, was extremely helpful with the bike accessories that I needed. If I can give them 100 stars I would. I purchased the Trek 3 disc. An awesome ride. I m just now waiting for two accessories to come in. Then I ll be back there next week for them to install.

I've never been to David's World Cycle before yesterday when a mechanical early in my ride brought me to the nearest bike shop. Their service department took a look, corrected my front derailleur, as a courtesy, and sent me back out to get some miles in. I really appreciate the support and I will definitely look to become a regular due to customer service like that!

I went to David's World Cycle to buy a Trek but arrived to find the bike I had come to buy had sold earlier that day. The staff went thorough all of the bike boxes they had and found the bike I was looking for. They were super busy but took the time to quickly assemble my bike for me so I did not have to come back to get it. The staff was super helpful and definitely earned my future business.

Super friendly staff who didn't make me feel like a novice. I had the wrong size cleats on my shoes and they guided me to what I needed right away. Great selection of bikes and accessories and they are happy to help fit and set anything you need from your bike to the the cleats on your shoes.

David's World Cycle was following social distancing guidelines and only allowed a few customers at a time in to their store. They went above and beyond. They stayed open past their closing time at 6:00 pm to accommodate all of us who were standing in line outside of the store, about dozen people. Once we entered the store Colin was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and gave us his full undivided time and wasn't trying to rush us out the door.

Wasn t sure if I would be able to find a new favorite bike shop after Flying Fish closed their doors, but the staff at Trek has made this my go-to shop. They are extremely knowledgeable and won t charge you more than what the repairs are worth.

I went to this establishment with my mother, who is Hispanic. We were talking in Spanish, and we started to notice that we were not being greeted by anyone who was working there, but people who came in after us were immediately greeted. We had to go up to one of the workers to get some help, and the worker we talked to was condescending, as if we had no idea about bikes or biking. This incident happened about two years ago, but I still felt the need to share.

I went into David's Cycle Tampa today and went to the service department to follow up on a previously discussed service request. I had gone in the week before for service on something else. When I came in today I was told that that they would not help me today even though I was told last week (in person) they could help me with a separate service request. The person I spoke was not there today. A guy with dark hair and a beard told me he spoke with me on the phone and claimed he was the one I spoke with even though I never called and have never seen him before. He basically called me a liar in front of other customers. This was a truly horrible experience and I will never be back. The service department needs to know what services the do or do not offer customers and act like professionals.

I've been cycling for about 6 years and I've been to numerous shops, and then I went to Daves on MacDill. Wow!! They treated me with so much respect and when it was time to fit me for the bicycle I purchased, well that service was exceptional! The entire staff needs to be recognized for the exceptional service they provide. I rode my bike for the first time the following day and I am simply blown away by how tailored the fit is. Thank you all so much.

I came in with my bike and waited at bike service area for about 5 minutes without any acknowledgement as 2 guys 10 feet away were working on a bike. I asked whether I should go to other desk and he just says ya. I go to front desk and approach as a rep is with another guy talking who was on the same side of register so I'm not sure whether he was customer or not. Waited several minutes and no one said a word. I dont need a red carpet but a simple acknowledgement or be right with you at a store with very few customers in it goes a long way and I couldn't get that from any staff member.
I left and went to another place I found online called outspokin bicycle. Completely different experience at a far busier store. Great friendly and quick service at cheaper prices. I understand why David's wasnt busy and outspokin was.

New to biking, I bought a used Trek at a garage sale a few weeks ago and needed a new seat. I stopped in this evening, Paul greeted and helped me, he was awesome! Not only did he assist me with picking out a seat that fit, he went through my bike quickly and did a wellness check and put the seat on for me. He didn t have to do all that, I m very appreciative and will definitely be back to purchase a new bike in a few months.

This past Saturday, I found my dream mountain bike...

This past Saturday, I found my dream mountain bike, a beautiful orange and red Marlin 7 2021 in the Orlando David s World Cycle. Nobody else had it in stock. I drove almost 4 hours round trip to get it and when I did the test ride there was an abnormal sound in the front disk brake. Main mechanic wasn t available but the sales person assured me that the Tampa store would take care of the issue. With a little bit of reluctance and slight remorse I drove back home with my new almost $1k bike. Today at 2pm sales person Collin called me from Tampa store to asked me about the issue and assured me his top mechanic would look at bike. I went after work and found out an outstanding customer service in every single person I met. Collin, Gina and the mechanics. After a thorough inspection they found out there was a problem with a small part in the break system that wasn t right. Without any complication I was given another brand new bike in 100% shape. My customer expectations were exceeded and I ended up buying a brand new helmet and a Marlin 5 bike for my daughter. I recommend David s World Cycle, specially the South Tampa store to any bicycle fan in Tampa Bay.

Got really great service. It's been so long since I've spent a lot of time working on my own bikes, that I need to lean on professionals to get safe work done. These folks performed quality work. I was able to work out some issues with the site manager with a simple phone call. Everyone was very polite and professional with me, and the management graciously accepted some thorough commentary on an issue I ran into. All is good. Thank you very much David's World Cycle. I will be back. I recommend this shop on the bike-mechanics alone.

Used to go to Performance, but they recently closed. Brought my 30yr old bike in to David s for service, discussed upgrading, but decided to repair for now. Very friendly staff, no sales pressure, and got my old bike going for a very reasonable price. Will be back for sure.

Trek has always taken care of me. The mechanic Bryan in the back is a cool kid and always has time for me even for last minute fixes. I race triathlon and Xterra and have spent thousands in there shop. Trek is the way a bike store should be. Super pumped they are under new management.

I bought my four year-old son a bike and wasn't sure I had assembled it correctly. I brought it in and Jay Turner was the first to greet me and make me feel welcome in the store. He worked on the bike, tweaking various things, until it was in good shape - and he was kind enough not to charge me! I definitely recommend dropping in.

Excellent experience!

Excellent experience!

I ended up at Trek MacDill because Trek in Clearwater didn t have the bike I was interested in, X Caliber 6 in 18.5 frame. They referred me to Trek MacDill because they did.

I walked in and was greeted immediately because they knew what I was there for. Jared grabbed the bike and got it ready for test ride. I told him my experience level, how long I d been out of the game, where I ride, etc. After test riding, I chatted with Jared more, asked him questions to get caught up on everything that s changed in the past 10 years in the world of mountain biking tech, asked his opinions and experience. Not only did he answer all of my questions, I could tell he was genuinely excited about mountain biking and not just there to sell bikes. It was like hanging out at the trailhead chatting about gear and what works best for what I want to do. During the entire conversation he did not try to upsell me from the X Caliber 6 that I test rode. I thought that was cool because sometimes newbies get steered (no pun intended) into buying too much bike for their budget and/or skill level. He left the buying decisions to me but made sure that whatever I decided on fit properly and felt good to ride. He had expert advice and knowledge on important details like frame size and fit. On my own decision, I test rode the X Caliber 8 to see what the $300 difference felt like. That s the bike I ended up buying, partly because it felt awesome to ride and partly because I was happy to spend more considering the service I received! I plan on taking my son to Trek MacDill to get his mountain bike! I have no doubt I ll have the same excellent experience! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I live in Pinellas and it's a little bit of a TREK to the shop. ;)

Six stars for this crew. I write at length, read what you like. It's the same old story: The folks that sell you what you need and help you sort out what you NEED as opposed to what you think you WANT, rather than what they might like to sell you... win the game. I'm a 63-year old huffed-puffer who had to replace a Trek mountain bike, circa 2004, because I gave it to my knucklehead son, first year at UF. These guys had maintained that bike for me many years, although I didn't buy it there. Always fair, always reasonable on the price. They did the stuff I couldn't do, or didn't want to do (I've got, uh, a few motorcycles, and don't have the time or interest to mess with bicycles). So I need a new bike, tee up for a Trek Marlin 5 after reading reviews, go into the MacDill store, ride it after talking with the sales person who made sure it "fit" me. Rides good, looks good, what's not to like? I ask him: "should I buy up a hundred and a half or so for the "Marlin 6" or whatever? He runs down the differences: slight upscale on the Shimano rear set, it had an "Alivio" or some-such components, or maybe vice-versa. Either way, a little lighter. Minor up-market components on front forks, and a few bric-a-brac details. I asked him: "would you do it?" He said: "nah, the weight difference is a zip on a mountain bike, esp. if you're putting on a kickstand and some lights" (which is what I was doing). He said: "Skip a donut a week and lose a pound if that's important--save your money." I did buy the Bontrager speedo/odo, and a real kickstand that frame fits properly, which they installed and set up quickly & correctly. Like I said, they've maintained my old bike for several years: clean shop, mechanics that can answer questions ("what kind of fluid does the hydraulic discs use?") and gave me a shim for the front disc pads to avoid piston push when the front wheel is removed. I believe in buying local, supporting the folks in my neighborhood. I've bought bikes from "Dud Thames" (or "Flying Fish" or whatever) in the past. Also watched the various bike shops come and go (like that deadweight bike shop in the Barnes & Noble complex at Kennedy/Dale Mabry). This shop survives and thrives because they get it right, treat you right, and stand behind what they sell.

This store is amazing! I live over an hour from the store so I called to get information on bike availability, sizing and pricing before driving up there. Every staff person I got on the phone was extremely knowledgable and helpful! I spoke with other David's World Cycle stores and they were just as good! This store was able to get the bike I wanted the fastest so I took the drive up to Tampa. The person helping me on site was so professional and really knew his stuff. What a great family-owned business! Great people, great store, customer-service oriented!

I have needed to take two of my bikes at different times for tire and a brake fix. The staff at Dave's was very courteous and listened to this novice try and explain what this issues were. They knew right away what the issue was and was able to fix one tire on the spot. I have never purchased a bike from them, but I would imagine their service is very similar on the sales side of things.

Very nice store. Would of gave a 5 but no place to park bike and holding the door, managing the steps, not trying to ding your bike while still no place inside to leave your bike while you shop. Leaned it up against stuff. Still a great store. Need more touring gear, not everyone is a weight weennie.

I give 3 stars, because the selection, and prices. But not 5, because of the staff. I've been here twice and the front of store staff were nice, but seemed to have very little knowledge of bike parts on the very bikes they sell, and kept referring me to the mechanic. The mechanic I spoke with had a very condescending tone towards me the whole time, and didn't want to listen to what I was telling him because 'he's a mechanic, I'm not' mentality. I asked for a KMC missing link for my chain (the one you put together by hand, you can google it). Not only was I told a 7 speed doesn't exist??? After I got home, I looked and all he gave me was a normal link. Not worth me going out of my way to return it. I'll just stick with their Carrollwood store. Much better service there.

Recently purchased my first road bike online. I was considering putting it together myself, but realized I should just let a pro do it. I live in a higher end part of town and knew this bike shop was in the very high end part of town. Was told that putting it together was $85+tax but knew it was a small business and figured face to face they may be able to work something out. I spent $240 on the bike and really wanted to stay under $300 on my first bike. I explained that to the gentleman that greeted me, he actually grinned and said "oh no way, do you know how difficult it is to put together a bike"... I said look I understand but it could not take you more than 2 hours, could you do $60. He told me I could go ahead and try it myself but I would probably end up back anyway... Found another bike shop 20 minutes away, explained the exact same thing was told "yea of course, just bring it in we will see what we can do"... This place has a huge selection of bikes (all incredibly high end), if you have money I see no reason they would not get you set up.

Great experience both times. First time I was looking for a used bike. Found one and Robert went over it in detail, tuning up or replacing parts as he went. Reasonable price for a used bike in really great shape- after Robert reworked it. Second time was when i tried to fix another bike,s front bearings. Turned out i did not have the right cone wrench to put it back together. I called the shop and was told to bring it in. 30 min later i had a front wheel that was fully greased and adjusted. Really nice group.

I bought 2 bicycles for this store.

I bought 2 bicycles for this store.
-I took one the bikes to have one of the spokes replaced. The staff technician said that is was not cover under the warranty. Everything else was under warranty.
-the same day I took the other bike because for not reason the rear derailleur broke. The technician asked if had an accident but I didn t. He said again, the part was not cover under warranty. I asked how much would it cost to replace the parts and decided to wait and find another place because the total priced was too much. Decided to take both bikes to another shop and the technician told me that Trek technician assembled the bicycles incorrectly. This is why I had so many issues with the bikes. I asked the other shop to fix and check both bikes to make sure nothing everything else were properly installed. Of course he found other mistakes. The total priced to fix both bicycles was only one third of the price I would it ended up paying at trek. I glad I went to another place to fix my bikes. Better service, capable staff and very reasonable prices.
I would not recommend this store to anyone. Overprice service, and not customer oriented place.
