Dave Edward s has been our place to purchase vehicles for over 13 years. Between my husband and myself we have bought 26 cars in that time frame. We have always been treated with exceptional customer service and truly love working with John David Ledbetter, Bill Little (who we will miss terribly), Farris, and Bill Ledbetter. I have also spoke to Dave Edwards himself a few times and even had him open my door when I have brought vehicles in for service. This dealership owner believes in taking the time to appreciate his customers by being there when it is busy. We moved to TN three years ago and still will only do business with Dave Edwards in Spartenburg SC. Thank you all for your excellence!

Had my vehicle towed here. They found a bad alternator. Quoted me $900. While replacing the alternator the technician stated that the radiator hose was warped and had broken off. Turns out this would have added an additional $200 to the bill which during Covid-19 is something I just could not afford...the manager was very kind to comp the additional cost! Great experience! I am truly grateful to God and thoroughly pleased with the service I received.

I am not "big" on traditional car lots. My husband and I go out of our way to avoid "lot lizards". We did not have to worry about that here. Yes, we were approached. But not at all hassled. We had our questions answered and felt no pressure to buy. They didn't have the car I wanted and didn't pressure me to buy one I didn't want. After researching and figuring out what I was looking for, Charlie Tomey found what I wanted. My brother is a car salesman and I would go to Charlie before my brother. Sounds bad, but Charlie is the best salesman I have EVER worked with. He gives you room to breathe and think about your choice and will help you if you need it. His sales managers did an amazing job making sure we got a great deal too. I have never letFt a sales floor without buyers remorse until I went to Dave Edward's Toyota. And I will not go anywhere else since being there. Dave Edwards himself is also a very nice guy. As a recommendation from now on, even though my brother is in car sales, Charlie Tomey is the man to meet at Dave Edwards Toyota, and even if you don't see him, the dealership, service department and general atmosphere is
, by far, the best I've experienced.

Just purchased a 2016 4Runner Limited from Charlie Tomey at Dave Edwards Toyota. He was easy to work with and my vehicle was ready to go when I got there. Truly one of the easiest & best experiences I have had purchasing a car. I was in contact with several Toyota dealerships when looking for a specific 4runner, one of which was only a few miles from my home, and I chose to drive an hour and a half to do business with Charlie.

Really nice service department setup. The waiting area was top notch and I was surprised by the deli. My service rep, Kristen Blakeny, said that the food is delicious. This was my first time at Dave Edwards. I had previously gotten my truck serviced at Toyota of Greer. I was impressed overall.

Over the past 8 years I have bought 2 Toyota s and had them serviced exclusively at
Dave Edwards. Not only was the purchasing process fair and smooth, but also the service experience has been first class. I have been so satisfied that it never occurs to me to look elsewhere perhaps for a cheaper price. I m a firm believer that price is secondary to outstanding service and that is what I ve always received.

Greatfolks and nice dealership. Good location. Had mixup with a salesman a while back but it has since been corrected. Hannah in the internet sales group did an outstanding job helping me purchase a 2nd Toyota from them. Highly recommended.

Our experience with Dave Edward's Toyota was great!! Our check in with our service rep., Chris Shear was quick, and complete. Nothing was missed and we were in and out within about 30 minutes from start to finish!!
I don't think you could beat this kind of service anywhere! Thanks Chris and all the techs that make this a great dealership. Dave should be very proud!

Stress FREE experience!

Stress FREE experience!

I've never purchased a brand new vehicle from a dealership before so I was rather nervous with a few preconceptions about how the experience would be. From the moment I pulled into the parking lot I began to suspect that I was going to have a purchasing experience unlike any I've had before. My nervousness and preconceptions started to melt away when Dasha Dimitris met me at the door with a friendly smile and warm welcome which immediately put me at ease. Dasha got some details from me and set to work on the financial side of the deal. Once that ball was rolling, Dasha showed me the vehicle of my dreams! I was blown away at how knowledgeable he was about the vehicle, pointing out all the options and how they would suit my needs. Tony Jackson took out for my test drive and he was so kind and patient as I was a tiny bit nervous driving an unfamiliar vehicle. Upon our return Dasha went over the particulars of my financing and called my husband to confirm a few of his dream option requests. I left briefly and returned with my husband so we could sign the paperwork. My husband was so impressed at by the 4 Runner as it far exceeded his expectations as to the type and amount of vehicle we would be able to purchase. Dasha went over all the paperwork explaining it in a concise, easy to understand manner. This was truly a stress free purchasing experience due to the professionalism and knowledge of Dasha! Later after we drove home I received a text from Dasha asking if we were loving the 4 Runner!

There were so many small details that overall just added to ease and comfort I felt while at Dave Edwards. Everyone was friendly and smiling. There was an absence of aggressive, pushy, slick "car salesman" attitude. The arrangement of the dealership with small tables and chairs in groupings vs cubicles felt much friendlier. The service area waiting room is unlike any I've ever seen before, comfortable seating, tvs, a cafe! I'm actually looking forward to my first oil change! I just can't say enough about how wonderful my experience was. I will definitely refer all my friends and family to Dasha, Tony, and Dave Edwards for an unforgettable purchasing experience.

I've had my Tundra serviced several times at the dealership. My Tundra is supposed to have 0w-20 oil per Toyota. 5w-20 can be used if the other is unavailable but should be changed early if it is used. This dealership has put the wrong oil in my truck 3 times. The first time they put synthetic 5w-20 for a charge of 90 dollars, I pointed out their mistake and the person I was talking to led to me and said the correct oil was used but the invoices could only show 5w-20. I left but returned later because my research told me that almost all new Toyotas require 0w-20. The new person told me that they had put 5w-20 in the motor. And that had I requested 0w-20 the charge would have been 50 because they use such a large amount of the oil. I had to prove to them that Toyota recommends 0w-20 for my truck, the dealership should be able to have the correct info in their records.

Today I had an alignment done because it was needed and they had a coupon for 15 bucks of the normal price. The problem is that they then charges me a 17 environmental fee for an alignment. The service guy said this was a state regulation fee in a round about way without saying that. He was trying to mislead me into thinking the charge wasn't because of the dealer. So I asked directly if the charge was mandated by the state and he answered that it was a dealer charge. He said these fees could come from rags or weights for a rebalance. I had my tires rotated but they did not rebalance them. So what it looks like to me is that I was charged an extra fee to balance the normal price with my coupon. I will continue to use them because they are so close to my house but I so wish I had another option.

My friend Chuck Jordan is always selling Dave Edwards Toyota as the only place to purchase a vehicle in the upstate; he was right! My salesman Doug Page was very informative and low pressure. It was a pleasant experience.

We purchased a new car today with the help of Thomas Hawkins (salesperson) & John David Ledbetter (finance). Thomas was an excellent and transparent salesman, extremely engaging and easy to talk to. Our experience was perfect and I left with the perfect family vehicle. Truly very happy! Thank you Thomas!!!

I am pleased with the service that Endy provided. The loan agents worked to get me the lowest interest rate for my financing needs. They worked their hardest to make sure my monthly payments were what I desired. My last three cars have come from Dave Edwards. I hope this one lasts as long as the others.

Great car buying experience! Our salesman Ben had a great product knowledge and was very pleasant to work with. John David from the finance department seemed to pickup where Ben left off. Here it is the next morning, no buyers remorse and I still feel very good about the deal made. This is my second new vehicle from Dave and hopefully not my last!

I would like to thank Ronnie Ray for his help with me and my wife's purchase of a car. He was very helpful , polite and not forceful in trying to sell a car. I plan on seeking him out if I need another car in the future. Thanks Ronnie!

I had to take a moment and write this. Had a low beam light that we thought was out and needed to be replaced. After they took it in, they realized it was just loose. Tightening it back in place made it work again. They could easily said "we replaced it, $50 please". I was very impressed with their honesty and they just earned not only my praise but my respect.

Thank you!!

I had my 2005 Prius serviced at Dave Edwards Toyot...

I had my 2005 Prius serviced at Dave Edwards Toyota (DET) since moving to SC in 2013. Techs are knowledgeable and friendly. To test their honesty, I sometimes asked them to check something I was fairly sure didn't need to be serviced or replaced. On each occasion I was told "it" didn't need to be serviced/replaced. The service dept has earned 5 STARS in my book.
The reason for the 1-STAR rating is due to the poor treatment i received beginning 08/11/2018 when trying to lease/buy a 2018 Prius Prime. One sales manager in particular was extremely rude and condescending to me. He told me "we don't have one on our lot, and, you can't lease a Prius Prime" with no explanation as to why. OK, then I would like to order a Prius Prime with specific options. "It's too late to order a 2018." OK, then I'd like to order a 2019. "Nope. We will search the inventory of dealerships in our 5-state area." (They never found one...if they even looked!)
To this point, the rude sales manager hadn't even introduced himself to me, nor ever looked me in the eye during our conversation. Instead, he stared at his computer. I took the initiative to introduce myself to him and extended my hand. That gesture didn't make him any less rude.
Next, I said I would like to order a 2019 Prius Four Touring (PFT). Said I would like to lease it, and specified the options I wanted. Basically, I wanted most of the available options, but was particularly interested in having the Head-up Display (HUD). The nasty guy snapped, "HUD isn't available on ANY Prius!" But I had thoroughly researched these cars and knew that option is available on the Prime and the high-end PFT, but I didn't push it. It was a moot point anyway because he wouldn't agree to placing an order for a 2019 PFT.
Now working with a different sales mgr on 08/13, i was back to the idea of buying a 2018 PFT in red, green, or blue. None meeting my specs were on the DET lot, but the 5-state state search produced a car that "came close" to what I wanted...minus HUD.
OK, I'd like look at it. "Wellll, you have to give us a good-faith check and sign a document agreeing to buy THAT car, sight unseen, before the car will be transported to DET ". I was upset, but did as I was told. I asked whether I could lease this car. "Yes, for $527/mo for 3 years!" I almost fainted. That was much more than I could afford.
The car arrived on 08/15a. Given all the grief I had encountered, i wasn't even excited about taking delivery of my new car, so I cooled my jets for a couple days.
I arrived at DET at 12:15 on 08/17 and the 2nd sales manager soon started the final paperwork. I financed the car at 2.9%. Only after I finished working with the Finance Mgr at 6:30PM did I finally see my new car for the first time. I was so exhausted from that day and the 6 days prior that I drove the car straight home and parked it in the garage. But after driving it for 5 months, I do like it.
This is the 7th car I have bought, and by far, this was the most stressful purchase experience. There were several times I should have walked out, but I couldn't face starting the process over somewhere else. The icing on the cake is that I wrote a detailed letter to Dave Edwards, owner of DET, and as of 01/22/2019, have not received a response of any kind. I guess customer rapport isn't very important to him.

I recently purchased a pre-owned Charger from Michael Rogers. Thank you Michael and everyone involved.....
Michael is a rock star, he didn't give me a high pressure sales pitch it was like I was car shopping with my best friend. He answered all my questions and was very patient with me as I had a hard time making the decision because
It was a 2018 Dodge Charger Scat Pack with almost 500 horsepower, not the most practical car in the world but Michael knew how bad I really wanted and he never once took advantage of that. Looking back he actually may have wished I didn't buy so he could buy it himself....lol I think I remember him actually saying that.
So go see Michael Rogers at Dave Edwards Toyota he will treat you like a friend..

If I could give zero (or even negative) stars, I would. We went to Dave Edwards to purchase a vehicle after my husband's car was totaled, so we were already a little stressed out by that situation. I very specifically said we were not interested in being pressured in any way, shape or form. Purchasing a new vehicle may be something people do on a fairly regular basis, but it's more of a "once every 10/15 years thing" for us. That being said, our family has a long history with Dave Edwards, so we felt we could trust them. We had an idea of what we wanted, but knew a lot of looking/test driving would be necessary. Apparently, going to buy a car on the last day of the month is a terrible idea with quotas and all that jazz. When we arrived at Dave Edwards (on two separate occasions), the salesmen were all waiting outside, ready to strike. We kind of felt like Nemo in a tank of sharks. It was a little unsettling. We had been recommended a salesman that was supposed to be low-key/no pressure. We test-drove two vehicles. After the second test-drive, my husband was just not impressed so he said "We're going to go home and think about all this again." The look on the salesman's face was like we had taken away all his brand new toys. It was obvious he'd thought he made a sale and was disappointed. My husband asked for a copy of the paperwork with the vehicle information on it. While the salesman went to make a copy, my husband went to the restroom. The salesman started talking to a manager of some sort, all the while glancing in my direction. The two men walked over to me and started saying things like "Why isn't he going to buy the truck?" "He needs to buy the truck today because it's the last day of the month." "This deal might not be available tomorrow." I'm not one of these feminist conspirators, but I have never felt so intimidated in my life! My husband finally came around the corner after wanting to take another quick look at the vehicle, and heard the ending of what they were doing. There wasn't an altercation, but it was obviously very tense. My husband and I walked outside, I told him what happened (in tears) and we immediately left. NEVER AGAIN! Dave Edwards' vision for his dealership was the opposite of what we experienced. It's a very sad thing to see happen. I would recommend going anywhere that's not Dave Edwards Toyota. Super high pressure and obviously unaware that customers should be treated much more respectfully than we were. Very, very disappointed and will never be back - not even for service.

I recently took my wife's car to have the periodic maintenance check without an appointment. I arrived early on a Saturday morning and was informed that my wait time could take up to 2 hours because my technician had not arrived yet. I was a little bummed. However the Assistant Service Manager William "Joey" Barnett understood my situation. He promptly had another technician service my vehicle and the wait time was less than 30 minutes! I was so impressed with his professionalism and his understanding. What an asset he is to Dave Edwards! He made me feel like family. His concern was sincere and genuine. Something that is not common in customer service these days. In the future ALL of my family's vehicle needs will be done at Dave Edwards Toyota. I would highly recommend them to anyone who desires personalized, outstanding 5 star service. I will remember Joeys act of kindness and care for quite some time. He has made a lasting impression. Thank you so much for treating your customers like family.

I went tonight to help make sure my Sister in Law was comfortable with the sales process and negotiations. The sales manager, Elbert Farris, came out with a chip on his shoulder and an attitude. Had I been the one making the purchase, that car would still be sitting on the lot.

I came here from Columbus, Ohio and this is the first time experience with Dave Edwards. I am using Toyota from last 5,6 years and I went to many dealers. I can tell Dave Edwards is the best dealer so far. And I also got a chance to meet Dave, it was good to talk with him, he is an awesome gentlemen. As for every business customers are god so they know how to take care of their god. I wish I could give more then 5star.

We have used Dave Edwards in the past and have always been happy with the quick turnaround and explanations of our vehicle issues. I usually work on my vehicles but when the brake system issue we were having at 200,000 miles exceeded my abilities, I had to make the call to Dave Edwards. Amazing customer service in the form of Eric, the service manager, appeared. He went above and beyond in finding the problem, describing the repair and helping us out with a quick turnaround to our Lexus LX470. Now our 200,000 mile car drives like new again thanks to the suggestions and new parts. Very knowledgeable staff and friendly atmosphere. Will return with our other vehicles...Thanks again!

Love it! I have only utilized their service department twice for routine maintenance but I m satisfied thus far. I make my appointments, easily, online and the service is fast and efficient. They have always addressed any other questions that I ve had and everyone is so courteous and friendly. My name is on the screen as i pull up, welcoming me. The actual quality of service is what matters but its the little things that count!

Would give this dealership 0 star if that was an option, let me begin by saying that I have been purchasing Toyotas since I was 16yrs old (over 27 yrs) never in my life have I negotiated a price that the internet sales department agreed upon to then be turned down by the manager Robert and Meghan. I have an email chain documenting our conversation over the course of 6 days and on the 6th day after leaving a $500 deposit and running my credit did they tell me that they couldn't honor the price in the desired color. I have never been so appalled and disapointed by any dealership until today. I would highly recommended taking your business elsewhere as I am doing at the moment.

Update-9/11/2018

Toyota Greer came through and even beat Dave Edwards price. Thank god their is still people who will honor a quoted price.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR BUSINESS HERE. I KNEW BETTER THAN TO GO BUT MY CAR COMPLETELY STALLED ON THE ROAD NEAR THIS DEALERSHIP. SO I TOOK IN. THEY QUOTED ME $2500 WORTH OF STUFF THAT LATER I FOUND OUT WASN'T EVEN WRONG. I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO EASLEY WHERE THE FIRST THING THAT POPPED UP WAS MY 12V BATTERY. WHICH FIXED EVERYTHING. DAVE EDWARDS TOYOTA IS A RIP OFF!! I PAID $250 COMPARED TO THEIR $2500 THAT DIDN T EVEN TELL ME ABOUT THE BATTERY. HORRIBLE SERVICE.

Had my truck serviced and the staff were awesome! I was in and out quickly unlike some other dealerships I ve been to. Their service lounge was very nice and even a play area for the kids. I highly recommend Dave Edwards Toyota for vehicle servicing! And as a bonus they had popcorn, drinks, and even a cafe! I wasn t there long enough to enjoy the cafe but hopefully I can try it next time.

Sales staff were kind and patience with me because as a first time buyer I had 3 cars in my pick and he would explain the difference between each model and their benefits. The salesman Mr. Antonio was helpful explaining which car would fit me well. Also I have much appreciation to Mr. Raymond at the finance department because he helped me find the best deal and took calls to fine them. Also he took the time to explained things well to a first time buyer. I am very happy with my purchase at Dave Edwards Toyota.

Not First Class Service, but World Class Service is their GOAL and achieved. The Service Department bends over backwards to serve their customers and to do so with minimal inconvenience. When any repair work needs to be done, customers offered to go see their vehicles and the Technician shows them visually what needs to be done. Seeing is believing and builds a sense of trust so the customer understands exactly what repairs need to be done and why. Hands down BEST Service Department and they take Pride in their work.

World Class Service!!!!!!

I came in with my daughter on Monday morning and was blow away by the salesmen that were very dishonest with what they were offering. We were offered "special" discounts, but those discounts came with hidden increased interest rates. We were interested with working with this dealership because of the offers that were posted on the Dave Edwards Toyota website. When we actually got there, this information was twisted. The manager was telling my daughter and I that she overpaid on her current vehicle that she was wanting to trade in from Toyota of Greer by $6,000. The salesmen that were helping us became very uncomfortable when we would ask questions about what they were presenting. If you are looking for an honest and best price on your vehicle, Dave Edwards is not your best option. We were very disappointed with our experience today.

Was having issues with entune on my brand new 4runner so I took the car in to have it looked at. Ended up waiting over an hour for the vehicle to even be looked at because they couldn't find the right person for the job. After another 30+ mins of waiting I'm told that I should delete contacts from my phone because that's probably the issue...they also said my entune had the latest firmware. I took a quick look at the Toyota website when I got home and noticed that they were totally wrong and version of entune on my car was outdated so I just downloaded the latest version to a flash drive and installed it myself. How is it that the person's whose job it is to know/fix entune issues could be so uninformed??? 1.5 hours of wasted time vs 5 minutes to do it on my own. Terribly disappointed with Dave Edwards...

I would like to share that everyone that I had to deal with at Dave Edwards Toyota was professional, courteous and did their absolute best to make sure i was informed and satisfied throughout the entire process. Especially I want to thank my initial point of contact; Alex Flynn (internet sales specialist), JB Brown (in person sales consultant), and John David Ledbetter (finance manager) . All in all a great experience at this dealership!

It's my humble opinion, but unfortunately one of t...

It's my humble opinion, but unfortunately one of the worst car deals I've ever been involved with. I bought a certified pre-owned vehicle and then returned it for a full refund. It's an old school dealership employing old school high pressure tactics; and they're creating a poor customer experience.

Issue one: They told me that they only had one key fob which is almost $500 to get another one. What they knew, and I did not, is that certified pre-owned Toyotas come with "two master keys", but they were more than happy to not budge on the price and have me pay for a spare key fob.

Issue two: The finance guy wouldn't take no for an answer three times when trying to sell me financial products that I didn't want. Finally, I told him that we were going to leave and he was mystified why I would be upset. No means no, all three times. He started at $4,500 for an extended warranty and came down to $900 and acted like he was doing me a favor. Why would anyone want to buy anything from him when he was happy to overcharge with such a ridiculous price?

Issue three: The finance guy made so many errors trying to get the paperwork done in both my wife's and my name that he had me just put it in my name for expediency. Three days later I received a new set of paperwork to sign with no explanation or contact from them explaining what was going on. I called them and asked, since we we reworking the documents, whether we could now add my wife. Eight days later I still didn't receive the paperwork and called inquiring as to why and the response was "because we have a lot of month end closings". Apparently my purchase didn't count as a month end sale! So at this point I didn't even own the vehicle and had been driving it for twelve days.

Issue four: It turns out that certified pre-owned Toyota buyers are to be offered the same promo loan rates as the new models. Check the Toyota website. That was never offered to me even with adequate credit scores.

Issue five: On the drive home I discovered that the AC didn't work. So much for the certified pre-owned inspection. When I took it in for service and asked how they could have missed the AC during the inspection their response was that "everybody makes mistakes".

Note that at this point they violated the pre-owned vehicle process by cheating the customer out of two keys and not offering the lower loan rates.

After the non-negotiable pricing, the master key issue, the clear disrespect from the finance department and what in my opinion was them selling a certified pre-owned vehicle without really performing the full 160 point inspection, and the fact that I didn't own the vehicle, I unwound the deal and got my money back.

Worst car purchasing experience ever.

Here's the funniest thing though. I ran into Dave Edwards himself on the way out of the dealership and for whatever reason we struck up a conversation and I told him all of the above. He listened and expressed his regret for my experience. That didn't change my point of view that I will never shop his dealership again. After all, if his people treat customers that way, then it's their culture. If he doesn't know that his people are behaving this way, then maybe its a wake up call.

All I know is that what should have been a happy experience turned into about twelve days of anxiety and I would hate to see anyone have to deal with a similar issue. I also know that the old school car dealership shenanigans are alive and well at Dave Edwards Toyota.

I recommend you shop around and do your research and Dave Edwards will be the best. I got the run around from another dealership (classic bait and switch) and I ended up driving an hour to Dave Edwards. Worth every mile. Beat every price out there and customer service was great!

We bought two new cars from this dealership 6 years ago and 4 years ago. It was one of the BEST car buying experiences my Husband and I ever had. We were 100% pleased with the sales team, sales managers, and service crew. No complaints and 5 stars!
We considered trading in our suv January of this year (2017) and the NEW car dealership team with very disappointing to work with. Although our budget price was not met, we had hoped for less rude attitudes. But hey, long story short, at least they were honest.
UPDATED REVIEW:
I recently gave this dealership three stars because of our last not so great experience here. But, after a visit there yesterday, my views have changed. WOW, what kindness, honesty, and respect out of the USED car dealership sales team and managers. I was just completely shocked how much has changed in just a few months since I last reviewed. (Of course, we re talking about the used car department compared to the new, but they are obviously still connected as one). Bill Ledbetter was such a pleasure to work with... he even opened doors for me like a real gentleman. I was blown away with the level of professionalism and kindness he possessed. (I will definitely be making him some cookies lol).
They literally said they would give us almost $3,000 over Kelly Blue Book price for our suv on top of making the final price of the new used car stay within our budget. I was extremely pleased with the wait time and the no hassle back and forth sales games. I named a budget point and they hit it! Although we initially decided to wait on buying at this exact point in time, because of reliable mileage, we would not hesitate one bit to make our next purchase at Dave Edwards. We WILL be back in a few years and look forward to finalizing the sale!! Thank you for the blessed day.

Tony Jackson went above and beyond to get my business and as a result I drove 100 miles outside of where I live (Charlotte) to purchase my truck. This is the first new vehicle I have ever purchased and the main reason was the great price Tony and Dave Edwards were able to provide. I am a David Edwards customer for life and will be sure to send all of my friends and family to them. If you are looking for a Toyota vehicle save your precious time and just go see Tony Jackson at Dave Edwards Toyota.

I knew I needed new tires when I took the car for its next service, but just before that service, I noticed substantial shimmying as I drove down the local mountains. That usually means the brakes are beginning to fail. When I took the car for service, it was as I suspected: new tires and brakes were needed. I requested the cheaper tires in stock because I was told they were good and had a decent warranty. I was provided a Toyota Camry to drive back home so I didn't have to wait 5-6 hours for the repairs to be completed. In the end, the cheaper tires were out of stock so the dealership provided the next best level of tire for the same price. I prefer using dealerships because I feel as if they know my vehicle and are just as interested as I am in keeping in running through regular service rather than repairs.
