My daughter loved it!!!! The year of 2018 was her first time and now all she talks about is her new friends and how much she misses camp Chinqueka!!!!! Thanks for all you have done!!!!
I was a camper for 6 summers at Chinqueka and I could only say great things about my experience there! I was able to meet some of my life-long friends there and try as many new activities as I had time for during my 6 weeks each summer. The counselors were always encouraging the campers throughout anything we did and were there if you ever needed a shoulder to cry on.
Wow what a camp this is!!! FABULOUS My daughter had the most magical summer in Chinqueka and cannot wait to hear more fabulous stories and for her to experience more super special memories in years to come The staff are the best, I have never seen a group of staff give so much into making all of the girls so happy and content especially Amanda! Thank you!!
Worked at Camp Chinqueka for 5 years, loved every minute of it under Amanda's brilliant direction. I will definitely send my daughters here .
Last summer was my daughters 4th summer. It was a HUGE disappointment. Every since Amanda Ward to over the camp is not the same. The campers felt it and the parents felt it. My daughter left after the first 2 weeks because she was so unhappy in how Amanda ran things. She is not the right person for the job and until she is replaced I would NEVER refer someone to go here. There are many others that feel the same way.
I spent my most formative years at Camp Chinqueka. I learned to be a leader from the fantastic role models at Chinqueka, including the Director Amanda Ward. I learned to be kind and to work as a team through the activities and events organized by staff. I also made life long friends who I still speak to on a daily basis and who have supported me through all my ups and downs. I would not have been as successful in school or in my career without the important life lessons I learned through spending each summer at camp. I would only hope that every young woman has the opportunity to spend their summers at Chinqueka.
Chinqueka is such a great summer camp. I cannot say enough about it and its brother camp, Camp Awosting. My daughter spent 6 summers here and has so many fond memories of camp. The staff is terrific. We loved the sense of independence she developed from spending 4 weeks at camp every summer and also the peace of mind we had knowing she was well cared for and safe. This is a great summer camp, and I guarantee if you send your daughter for 2 weeks, she'll ask for 4 weeks the following summer and 6 weeks the next!
I had the pleasure of working at Chinqueka as a photographer for two summers and had the most amazing time of my entire life! There are so many wonderful activities and the staff is phenomenal year after year. I am so excited for the day I can send my own children here as I would not want them to miss out on this great experience.
I went to Chinqueka for 6 summers, my last being in 2011. I made life long best friends that I still get together with even 7 years later! Chinqueka will always hold a special place in my heart and I can t wait to be able to send my kids here some day :)
I attended Awosting for many years and spent a lot of time at Chinqueka. This camp rules!
Camp Chinqueka is one of the most special places on earth! Every activity is lead to perfection, they are so much fun and provide the girls with so many skills from the help of all the fabulous staff Amanda Ward, Camp Director is one of a kind- she brings all the girls so much happiness and brings the best out in every single one of them who steps through those amazing gates. If your daughter/sister/neice/friend ever has the amazing experience to go she will get to experience the magic like i did
Spent the 9 best summers of my life here, over a year of my life in total since age 10. Chinqueka taught me leadership, confidence, and spirit, and my summer family got me through the best and worst of times. I don t know where I d be without it- camp showed me that adventure is out there, and that you re never too old to be a kid. Chinqueka IS girl power! ;)
Camp Chinqueka is a home away from home for girls to have fun, try something new, make lifelong friends and learn alot about themselves and others. If you are looking for a camp that will inspire your daughter, this is it! She will walk away with girl power spirit and a seriously fun summer!
C-H-I-N-Q-U-E-K-A Rock! Camp Chinqueka was the best gift my parents ever gave me. It was there that I spent the summers of my childhood, making friends from all over the world and expanding my horizons through a variety of activities. I now send my own daughter to Chinqueka! She's developed a great sense of self confidence and has made long-lasting memories. As a side note, Amanda Ward has been a great addition to the administrative team at camp. She listens, comes up with creative ideas and she cares deeply for all of the campers. It's such a hard job to be the director and she does her very best to make sure that the girls are cared for and happy. Camp is all about "making new friends but keeping the old." There's no better place to do that than at Camp Chinqueka.
Camp Chinqueka is such an amazing, special place where girls have the chance to be themselves, learn so much and make friends and memories that will last forever! I'm so excited to return home next year for my 4th summer in my favourite place!!
I attended Chinqueka for six years as a camper and went back for an additional three summers on staff/admin team. I have always had a phenomenal experience at camp, learning more about myself and making more memories each summer.
I love Chinqueka, I have so many memories from there and it is an amazing summer camp I love all the songs and loving the games
Going to Camp Chinqueka was the highlight of my childhood! I spent 6 amazing summers there (and always did the full 8 weeks!) There is truly no better way to spend your summer as a kid. The activities, the friends, the memories - it s helped make me the person I am today. You get to experience so many activities you would never do at home, meet people from all over the world and learn independence! The camp director Amanda was a camper there from a young age so she knows exactly how to give campers what they want and need to have the best summer ever in a safe environment! Unlike most camps where there is a yearly color war and you re on a new team every year - at Chinqueka there are three tribes and you re on your tribe for life! It really bonds you with your fellow campers and Chinqueka forever! I would recommend everyone send their girls there if they are thinking about it. I wish I could go back!!
It is a good place although it does not seem like a well established camp to me, it is more like a park, nothing that makes it special, and the atmosphere is not the best.
I spent 10 amazing summers at Camp Chinqueka. I have met so many amazing women through my years here. I wish I could be a kid again and spend one more summer as a camper!
I love this camp! It offers a great variety of activities for all interests (love the spin bikes!). Overall a wonderful atmosphere and camp for girls!
I spent an amazing summer here in 2014 as the Tom Tom counsellor, and it s one I ll never forget.
If you want your kids to gain confidence, leaderships skills, learn new things and have a lot of fun this is definitely the place for them. The girls are kept busy throughout the day making amazing new friends, meeting counsellors from around the world and trying loads of new activities. The food is the great, the cabins are great, the staff are great.
I can t wait to send my daughters here, i am going to be so incredibly excited for them.
A great summer camp for girls. I made memories and friendships there that I will cherish for a lifetime!
Camp Chinqueka has been such an amazing part of my life. After being a camper, volunteer and working making over 10 years, I couldn't recommend this camp more to anyone! It gives girls the chance to make friendships that last a lifetime, leaderships skills that will never be forgotten and to have so so much fun! In the future I will definitely be sending my children!
Had so many amazing summers at camp - the counselors and administrators do such a great job!
Chinqueka is a treasure. Wonderful people and great traditions!
Camp Chinqueka was the most amazing part of my childhood. I went to camp for 5 years (2-4 weeks each year) and every summer I wish I could go back. The staff was amazing, the activities were amazing, and the overall experience was like no other. Best of all, I met my best friend for life while I was there and I am now 25 years old and we still talk and see each other all the time! I also made such amazing friendships with other campers/staff, some of which even live in other countries... long story short, I would not trade my camp experience for anything!! I also went to another sleep-away camp for 1 year before going to Chinqueka and there are many reasons why Chinqueka is the camp I stuck with. Just be prepared for your kids to never want to leave camp and to be singing camp songs for the rest of their lives!
I love Camp Cinqueka. It is so fun there and I've made so many friends. Camp will always be the best part of my year.
