This company is a joke. They took over 3 months longer to actually make the house move in ready. They refuse to come back to fix things they are LEGALLY CONTRACTED to fix. My house still isnt painted. My storm door that was supposed to be installed during the building process still isnt up 3 months after closing. They just say they will get to things when they can, no dates for upcoming work or appologies for delays. Their communication is beyond poor. They talk to you like you're stupid. I had to basically beg them multiple times throughout the building process for updates. Even had a meeting about communication and it did no good. The quality is not good. The house looks pretty but you can tell they took things the cheap route. If you dont check everything as they go they will just change things and not tell you. I read SO MANY bad reviews before choosing them and thought maybe people were just sour. No, this company is just that horrible.

Terrible customer service. Our builder finished the house leaving big ruts in our yard. He never did a final grade. We have already had 2 natural gas leaks in our house as well. We also got slow closing doors on our cabinets and some of them haven t been fixed yet. The fireplace has a wheezing sound when you turn it on. From the start they never put a dryer vent in so all the fumes and stuff were coming in our house making a burning smell. When we called to have everything fixed they were like you are already on the list. We have been on that list for 6 months now. I DONT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AT ALL.

Bottom Line Up Front: My wife and I are very happy with our CVE Home, and if we were doing it all over, we would definitely pick them as our builder again.
I would consider CVE a "semi-custom" builder, meaning we were given many more choices during the building process than others seemed to offer, to make our house the way we wanted it, instead of just getting a cookie cutter design out of a book. There are base plans, and from there you get tons of options to choose from.
I'm not going to give specifics and lock them into anything, but another huge benefit was working with them financially. It was definitely more of a small business feel and flexibility as opposed to a corporate feeling "go talk to a bank and we'll talk to you if they'll do it our way."
The site supervisor, Sean, never made us feel like we were 1 of the 11 projects he had going on, and whenever we were on site the subs were great.
Additionally I have to mention CVE's realtor Tracy was awesome, and worked well with our realtor to take allot of the guess work and uncertainty out of the process.
For me, the way they build is also a big plus. Even though it's really probably overkill, I feel that things like 2x6 exterior walls, plywood sheeting, and 16" on center floor joists will allow us to stay in this house without worry for as long as we want.
Overall, the simplest endorsement is still the best I think: looking back at it now, we still feel like we made the right choice!

Bought the model in Osburn Lakes. My family has continued to have a great experience with the build team at CVE. Karen, Nick and Mike worked hard to get our home done on time. Quality of Craftsmanship was excellent. We had a couple minor warranty claims within the first year that we handled promptly and professionally. I would recommend this builder to anyone. Thank you Scott for a great experience.

As a neighbor to a home being built by CVE Homes I would NEVER recommend this company! I have not spoken to a polite person yet, our new neighbors have not gotten what they promised and IF the workers show up its MAYBE once a week! This house is going up super slow and the work they are doing is 2nd rate at best! They have cut our internet twice, as well as our neighbors cable twice. They never called Miss Dig and it has cost me money as a result! PLEASE if you want your new neighbors to like you PLEASE choose ANYONE else to build your next home!!!

Their customer service is awful and they make up faulty claims to charge you more money. They were horrible to work with during and after building. They were extremely rude, and their work was second rate. I would nvr suggest anyone to use them, and in some cases their houses estimate under the cost of what they charge you to build. Be warned!!!

My wife and I recently closed on our new home and ...

My wife and I recently closed on our new home and we LOVE it! We went back and forth for about six months trying to decide if we wanted to build or buy and in the end we couldn't find a house that we liked with a first floor master suit and laundry in our price range so we shopped around for builders.
I won't knock other builders but what really sold us on CVE was the quality of their work and the extreme level of customization. When I speak of quality I am referring to the things that you may not necessarily notice but are super important. They do a great job with framing, the basement is awesome, even if you stick with base level everything the quality is still decent (standard doors and flooring for example), and they did an excellent job with finishing.
What sold us was the customization. We chose the Villager model because we didn't need a HUGE home but we wanted a very nice home. At the initial design meeting we talked about what we liked and didn't like in the model that we were shown and gave a few thoughts on what we would like. They came back with a floor plan customized for what we wanted and then we worked together to refine it to our perfect floor plan. As long as the wall isn't load bearing they will do just about anything that you ask free of charge.
My wife and I prefer a very modern design and CVE allowed us to build an amazing modern home. Karen the Selection Coordinator was great. She was very helpful, came up with some incredible ideas, and really helped us to create the home that we envisioned.
Building went pretty smoothly. Ben the sight supervisor was amazing! If there were any concerns or questions he was very quick to respond and he made sure that everything was built and finished to a very high standard.
There were a few small issues but they were typical building a new house issues. A few lights had to be changed, we had to rethink how we wanted to do a ceiling, and other little things.
The only reason I didn't put 5 stars (I would do 4.5 if I could) was because of an issue with tile. The tile installer did a poor job installing the back splash do to the high level of technical expertise that was required. We were basically told it was our fault for picking the tile (I feel they should have told us if they couldn't properly install the tile before they ruined $600 worth of tile that we paid for) and things got a bit dicey. Everything got worked out in the end but I really felt like they didn't want to stand behind the work of the sub-contractor that did the tile work and it isn't my job to hold their subs accountable.
Overall it was a great experience and if you want a unique, well built, home I would recommend CVE!

My husband and I built a home with CVE almost 2 years ago. They don't return any phone calls in a timely manor in fact they never return them. The "upgraded" flooring that was put into our kitchen is not allowed to get wet or to be cleaned with anything other than a dry cloth we didn't find that out till the flooring starting popping up in different places. We certainly would've never placed that kind of flooring in our kitchen if we would've known. Every window leaks and two of our blinds have been ruined because of that. We were told this last winter one would need to be replaced this summer, and half of our windows are so hard to close or lock because of all the times they have been "fixed". I received an e mail from a manager today advising they won't be replacing the window and to bad about our floors. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM!!!!

Overall I love the home! Definitely was a roller coaster of emotions through the building process. The only downside I d say is the communication falls of once you sign the contract. Due to COVID-19 they had to halt the final grade and concrete. That was fine with me but now that the stay at home isover I d at least except some sort of reply to my emails. Other then that I am enjoying my Hampton 2! I ll update in a year on quality

My husband and I are first time home owners and newly married; and we were fortunate enough to work with CVE to custom build our first home. CVE was awesome through the entire experience and answered our many questions throughout the process. Karen the Design Coordinator was great to work with and made great suggestions, Dale the Site Supervisor ensured that the construction process went smoothly, and John our Impact Real Estate Agent helped us find the perfect lot for our new home. I can't say enough good things about the quality of our home; we watched the entire process from the ground up and they took care of every detail. I highly recommend both CVE and Impact Real Estate if you are considering building a new home.

CVE didn't come highly recommended (in fact our realtor directed us away from them) but I thought I would give it a shot. Explored their website, but not a lot of information there. No costs or prices for models, the floorplans have no detail, etc. Used their website interface to send an email - six months later, no response. Tried again recently, still no response after a week. Decided to call and talk to them just to see - when you're talking about a home, hundreds of thousands of dollars, and a thirty year investment, leave no avenue unexplored, right? The person who answered the phone asked me a couple questions, told me it wasn't likely we could build with them, then transferred me to someone else for "more specific pricing information". After five solid minutes on hold for the other person, I get blank air for a minute, then a rude "Hello?" Introduced myself, he interrupted to ask what I wanted - not how he could help, but "what do you want?" like I was interrupting more important work. I explained a little of the situation, asked if he could send me some basic costs (like "this model starts at this price") and he flat out told me they wouldn't send that kind of information and I'd need to come in because he had a "booklet" I could look at. Then he told me he'd need to put me on hold again to go get his stuff because he was upstairs and the information was downstairs. Back on hold I go, at which point I ended the call. Absolutely dirt-poor customer service all the way around. Between the website setup and the representative's attitude it felt like they wanted me to be totally dependent on their "knowledge" and intentionally wanted to keep me ignorant of what costs actually go into a house. It didn't feel like they wanted me involved as a home buyer at all - more like they wanted to hand me a final bill and I'd just sign off and miss all the extra "costs" they slipped in.

My family had a disappointing experience as well. I ignored the reviews but ended up reliving others' stories to a tee. If you choose to ignore the reviews too, good luck! My advice to you would be: Try to work with Karen and Al, they're going to do what they can to make your experience great in spite of the company culture. Bring your own realtor b/c Impact won't be on your side. And when you hear the phrase, "We're a production builder," brace yourself for a dive in customer service and craftsmanship.

To be fair, if I were rating our home and not the company, I'd give 2.5 stars now and a point or so more when I'm done correcting the issues.

We recently closed on our new home June 30, 2020. ...

We recently closed on our new home June 30, 2020. We worked with Carolyn in the beginning, she helped us with our land and how we wanted the home exterior etc. She was wonderful and very responsive whenever we contacted her. During the process we worked with Karen, she was fabulous. She answered all of our questions and helped us with a lot.
During the covid shut down I contacted the office because the bank we originally chose was making things difficult and I spoke with Scott, "one of the owners", and he was fantastic. He spoke with me for a while and was very sweet. He gave us a great recommendation for Will at Dart Bank. That was a life saver for us. Scott taking that time for us was extremely helpful and we appreciated it very much. We would say our overall experience with this company has been good. We went through this experience during COVID. Our home was almost finished when all home building was shut down. Our home was delayed during the shutdown and even after it started back up, it was challenging to get contractors and workers to the job site. The workers have all been super friendly and very helpful even when you knew they were stressed and short staffed. We were very pleased by their professionalism. When we closed on the home there were a few jobs that needed to be finished. All of those jobs have been completed and on time as they promised. When we moved in we found there were a few minor issues that were also addressed and quickly fixed. When we closed we were given a contact person "Cheyenne" at the office, if we have any issues she is very quick to address those issues. We love our new home as it is everything we hoped it would be. Thank you CVE! Breimayer Family

What started as a great experience quickly turned ...

What started as a great experience quickly turned into a not so great one. While I found the staff to be super friendly, there were just issues that went wrong, leaving us utterly dissatisfied.

We put $5,000 earnest money, as you would in such a case. Without having the plans completely finalized, they poured the basement. We didn't actually know they had started, but happened to drive by the property and noticed that 1. it was poured, and 2. one of the windows was in the right spot.

There were points where several weeks went by with no contact, where suddenly we were notified that there was concern our plans would not appraise. We came in, they completely dedicated themselves to making it right. For sake of needing a place to live, we just agreed away, and tried to make edits. Still they came back with no feedback. Dates given for deadlines on follow-up appraisals came and went without updates. Although the contact dictates that you "pay cash" for additions, changes -- which of course we had some fluff in there. The basement issue didn't allow us to make other changes to the plan, or re-think it slightly so in the end it would be right. We had sat down with owners, who spent a full day to try to get it right -- but again, once other process started, no communication. We were pressured to get out of our current place, and had to back out of the house; a combination of the issues, dragging of feet, timing, and being locked in. They utterly refused to reimburse us the $5,000 deposit, even though as a business guy I know they'll make margin on the house. I don't usually have bad brand experiences -- I go with the right people. At the end of the day I wished there was a little more humility and understanding that they screwed up big time.

My wife and I added over 100k (totalling almost 300k) to a CVE floor plan and we both feel as if we were treated more like a number instead of a customer. Absolutely 0 communication excluding Carolyn and Karen. Was told we'd be in 5-7 months tops and it was over a year! Which cost us thousands of dollars due to rent fees for where we were living and storage unit rental. CVE adds Lots of fees witch as a business I get to a point but I feel as they took advantage of us. We have currently been living in our new home now for about 4 months and they still haven't finished a bunch of stuff that was supposed to be done before we closed. Currently in dispute for another fee ($300) for them to finish pouring the concrete for our driveway. The last email I got from them was them telling us they will not be finishing the house until they receive this $300 so that also means we won't have any warranty on our home either. I have requested to talk to the owner multiple times and he will not contact me. I'm not sure at what point do you start caring/thinking about your customers but these people definitely don't!! They also tacked on another $3,000 fee to move dirt around on our property after I had asked my project manager if we would be getting a charge for it multiple times and he told us absolutely not! This fee was also never discussed and was just sprung onto us. Do yourself a favor and stay far far away from these money hungry people. Because the only thing they care about is how they can charge you another fee. They won't even finish our house over $300 witch by the way I don't feel like we should even be getting this charge. But like I said owner is the one who calls the shots and for whatever reason he refuses to contact us. Bad business if you ask me.

P.S. I am not a person who normally leaves feedback, or complains about anything. But that's just how disappointed/discusted I am with this. And Scott (owner) if you read this I'd still like to talk to you about this. Believe me the office has my number and I would gladly delete this review if you do.

At first, my husband and I were pleased with the process as well as the choices that CVE offered. They took a while to get started on our home but then seemed to pick things up. However, during the last 5-7 weeks of building, the communication fell off. We were not getting answers to questions and work seemed to halt. Now that we ve moved in, there is still work that needs to be completed and we cannot seem to get an answer on when it will be done. We ve even been told that the work was already finished, when clearly it has not. The communication with this company is lacking. Overall, I am happy with the quality of my home. But I feel as though they do not care about us or the work that we need them to finish up. It has really made our first home build a disappointing experience.

When we decided to build, we did a LOT of research on builders within our area and expanded our research within a 100 mile radius. We took our time going to many open houses from 3 different builders. We even met with the builders for analysis from each group. CVE had the best options and a great sales group. We decided on CVE homes for many reasons:
1)Their financing terms
2)Their type of construction they performed
3)The time line given for a new build
4)That they had engineers and designers to help custom build the home we wanted
Plus, many other reasons.
We have been in our home for 18 months now and we are enjoying every moment. We have only had some small minor issues with the house and CVE has come out and addressed all issues and fixed anything we asked (simple issues such as a piece of siding that needed to be replaced, some nail pops that needed to be counter sank and a garage door that was off track). Never any major problems. We worked with Tracy and Andy Snyder and we are so glad that they had so many years experience as well as a lot of patience with us! I highly recommend them!

CVE Builders do not act professionally, or provide...

CVE Builders do not act professionally, or provide Professional Service. We started a contract with them last November and we were under the impression it would take a maximum of 6 months, after a Lot change we knew the time period would be changed but never expected it to take almost a year for the house. we Finally just moved in this past late (end of month) August. Also they do not "quote" properly and the upgrade charges are so extremely ridiculous and they will charge you for every little thing you want or need. for example they will put in an extra self in the closet for $75 dollars or there is an extra $50 charge for every can light you want. also the quality of work is extremely poor and very upsetting when you are paying ALOT of money for a house. when it comes to the final inspection they put you of a "6 foot rule" meaning if you have to get closer than 6 feet they wont fix it! also they only put on one coat of paint so if you plan to even touch the walls expect to see the paint rub. also our house isnt even 3 months old yet and you can see dry wall marks where they didnt mud or paint properly and trying to get anyone out to fix items is pretty much impossible if you already closed on the house! lastly if you are building where you have to have a septic tank installed make sure you get a quote and turn that into them because they gave us a 6 thousand dollar allowance and without our permission they changed the septic location which ended up costing us the owners an additional 3 grand and also they did not dig our well deep enough so we had to pay to have it dug deeper.

all in all I will NEVER EVER EVER build with this company again and if you want something that isnt as "quality " as you see in photos or imagine then do not build with this company. they do things cheap, and charge you for every little item (example again door knobs are $2 a hole) and 3D countertop is 300 and to do a fireplace they want to charge about 6 grand!

I WOULD NEVER EVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE..BE ADVISED AND DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!

We moved into our new home on 11/18/2019. The exact target move-in date CVE provided 4 months prior. My husband and I are extremely happy and satisfied with every step of the building process. CVE is detail oriented, and communicates very well, every step of the way. CVE wants to make the building experience a dream come true, and it definitely was for our family! If we ever build again, we would definitely use CVE again. Thank you CVE for a beautiful new home and experience!
