The price was reasonable for the experience. The zoo is small but good quality, they also do multiple feeding demos throughout the day with education! The science part was pretty cool, a lot bigger than I expected and my 2 year old loved it, she couldn't "really" do everything but she certainly enjoyed trying. We left the grounds and got lunch then came back no problem. Its also a part of a beautiful nature park - we explored there for about an hour but id love to go back and explore more

First time here and WOW. Location awesome, the views are incredible....but let me share how amazing it is inside...hands on experience in everything STEAM for both kids and adults, mix that with a ZOO where each animal, bird or reptile has a story and you've hit the Jackpot. Membership for a family is $125 with $105 being tax deductible, giving many other doscounts even to SF and Oakland Zoo...yah money well spent for sure. We all loved it, hubby, myself and our little one was totally in love with everything. We are definitely going back and taking advantage of the park and hike all the way up to the museum then back down. Super close to the 101 Freeway this is for sure on of the 5 fave spots in our area. Below are pictures of the view from just outside CuriOdyssey.

Excellent place to discover science with kids. Live Science experiments, well explained and nice little zoo. kids LOVE this place! plus it is in the middle of Coyote Point park, with nice (and windy) views of the city and the planes that land very close by !

We are members here, the exhibits are very nice for small kids age 4-8. There are a lot of smaller children running around which can get pretty crazy at busy times. Special events are too crowded and not well organized. We came to the bubbles and rainbows day for Pride and it was jam packed with not enough events for the kids to be able to see. All the museum staff were friendly but it doesn t make up for the facility.

A fantastic museum for the whole family. Nearly all the exhibits are hands on and very engaging. The areas of the museum are structured by scientific concepts, like physics, biology and optics. There is something to explore for everyone. As an adult, you realize how much fun hands-on science can be.

CuriOdyssey has dozens of indoor science exhibits to engage kids and a delightful outdoor zoo. Make sure you don't miss the astoundingly playful river otters and the various shows and feedings throughout the day. They're typically every hour. I take my kids there every month or two and they both absolutely love every moment!

I'm gonna go 3 stars here because I wasn't killed or eaten. But, that being said I really couldn't call this place a "center", as much as it's my 2nd uncle's house, the backyard would easily fit all of the animals in here, most of which are already in my backyard right now. Lol. The otters stole the show and we're worth the price of admission.

Very detailed and exciting place for our children to go for school. It's like someone took one part zoo, one part exploriturm, a dash of good parking and garnished with a pleasant commute. I recommend, I think you will be satisfied.

This popped up on Google as something to do nearby. I'm so glad we did! The kids (7 and 3) had a blast! And so did I. What a lovely little hidden gem. We went on Wednesday and it was not crowded at all. We spent about 3 or 4 hours there. Bring your own lunch though. There's limited snacks in the gift shop and no restaurant in the Coyote Point Park. Lots of picnic tables around with beautiful views.

If you live in the Bay area, get the membership if you have kids under age 7. They'll love it, especially on rainy or very cold days when the park is not an option. They never get bored of the activities and the mini zoo is fun, both areas are largely indoors. The staff is beyond kind and friendly. My daughter misplaced a toy bus we'd purchased from the gift shop, when they didn't find it in the lost and found, one of the staff members replaced it. My toddler was overjoyed. The staff there are just really nice that way. Plus they always do special science themed activities/programs like bubble shows and recently they had an illumination themed interactive display that was really great.

My kids love to come here. All time their favourite place. They love to see the river otters and owls. Staff there were so kind and friendly!! When my son's birthday, he told them that day was his birthday at the entrance, they gave him a huge birthday sticker and made him day! So every staffs were congrated him everytime they saw him at his birthday sticker. Also the Light illumination (limited time event until early January 2018) was just amazing. When you have chance to buy something from the gift shop, they can do very nice and cute wrapping if you want. It's definitely worth to go with your little one! Highly recommend.

Great place to take the kids, it s a mini exploratorium and zoo. It s a bit pricey for adults but they tend to give vouchers if you come just before they close. Kids definitely seem to love it there, they track the animals as they grow up. Awesome hiking trails in the park and a beautiful view of the bay for a brief walk, not to far from CuriOdyssey! Highly recommend

Great place to take kids of all ages. Plenty of stuff for them to tinker with, and the attached zoo is really fun. The river otter is very friendly! Lots of science-based activities to play with. My 20mo old had a blast! We will gladly be back soon.

Visited during one of their community days so it's free! (UP. $9/adult $6/child) It's relatively small so for adult visitors, it will take no more than 1.5hr to walk through the entire exhibit slowly. Got to see owls, Bobcats, otters, Eagles, heron, snakes, badger and a couple more. Do find the exhibits a little on the small size for the Bobcats and Eagles. Like that they explained how these animals and birds ended up at CuriOdyssey, such as having been imprinted by humans and they are unable to live in the wild. I like the walk-through aviary the most. They have blue heron, magpies, other birds and turtles. To a certain extend, it allows you to see these creatures in an environment that mimics their natural habitat. Overall, a nice place to visit in the peninsula. Best paired with Japanese dining at San Mateo. I give it three stars with a plus one for the free community days.

CuriOdyssey: A Serious Science Playground for Kids

CuriOdyssey is a unique science playground that offers an immersive learning experience for kids of all ages. Located in San Mateo, California, CuriOdyssey is a non-profit organization that aims to inspire curiosity and creativity in children through interactive exhibits, live animal encounters, and hands-on experiments.

At CuriOdyssey, kids can observe wild animals up close and personal. From playful river otters to majestic birds of prey, the park is home to over 50 native California animals. The exhibits are designed to showcase the natural habitats of these animals and educate visitors about their behavior and ecology.

In addition to animal encounters, CuriOdyssey also offers a range of interactive exhibits that allow kids to experiment with real scientific phenomena. For example, the Tinkering Studio encourages children to build their own contraptions using recycled materials while learning about engineering principles such as force and motion.

The park also features a variety of outdoor play areas where kids can climb on giant spider webs or explore the sensory garden filled with fragrant herbs and flowers. There's even an outdoor amphitheater where visitors can watch live science shows featuring explosions, fireballs, and other exciting demonstrations.

But what sets CuriOdyssey apart from other science museums is its commitment to sustainability. The park has implemented numerous green initiatives such as solar panels that power the exhibits and rainwater harvesting systems that irrigate the gardens. Visitors are encouraged to learn about these initiatives through educational signage throughout the park.

CuriOdyssey's mission is not only limited to inspiring curiosity in children but also promoting environmental stewardship among its visitors. By providing an engaging platform for learning about science and nature while emphasizing sustainable practices, CuriOdyssey hopes to create a generation of responsible citizens who care deeply about our planet's future.

In conclusion, if you're looking for a fun-filled day out with your family or school group where you can learn something new while having fun at the same time then look no further than CuriOdyssey! With over 100000 visitors every year it's clear why this serious science playground has become one of California's most popular attractions!
