As an accomplished alumni; Class of 2006, Summa Cum Laude, Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Alpha Theta I highly recommend CSU Stanislaus.
I was searching for a no-nonsense education not a party school. Certainly fun happens but academic excellence is the goal here, not kegger parties.
I suggest students take the PEER ADVISING class for their own benefit as soon as possible. Trying to determine what classes to take toward graduation is difficult. If this school has a fault, what exactly to take and when to submit graduation information is its great crevasse of confusion.
I'm tenacious and was told by administration tough luck in 2004-2006 in this regard. Another student directed me to PEER ADVISING which administration teaches us exactly how,to help ourselves and other students, what paperwork is mandatory and what dates a,student can no miss. This class places the student in the KNOW.
That aside, I went on to become a teacher, publshed author, and professional speaker.
Thank you CSU STANISLAUS.
Read Tillie Lewis:The Tomato Queen on Amazon. I learned technique right here at CSU Stanislaus history and English departments.

I am a Stan alumni. I lived and spent every second of my amazing college experience at Stanislaus. I found my best friends and partly myself because of this school. However...This is not a good school if you are planning to get out in the world and be successful. Out of my graduating year I have more than a dozen friends that are struggling to make it out here and I partly blame Stanislaus for this. I barely remember them ever teaching us practical ways to survive after school. Out of a dozen (btw one is doing Quantum physics at uc Irvine) only 2 have full time jobs but still struggling. In my field (IT) specially in San Fran or down here in SD people care where u go to school. Nobody knows Stanislaus. If you are planning to stay in the valley yeah maybe go to Stanislaus. If not, apply for Cal poly, San Diego or better csu schools. They all cheap but believe me cause San Diego by the beach and plenty of jobs around campus is a diff experience from Stanislaus in middle of nowhere. Plz plz don't waste your life there. College experience is a one time thing, spend it wisely.

Come here for community events all the time. 4th of july was a hit. Came today for their fall carnival. Awesome our kids had a blast. All the students were into what they were doing. Thank you for contributing to the comminity.

This is my first semester here but I absolutely love it. Beautiful campus especially when the leaves charge color. Amazing professors who are willing to work with you. And the dorms are way better than I expected. When any issues arise I just fill out a work order abd the next day it's fixed or being worked on. The food is also great. Though if you're vegetarian like me you need to work around with it. Find out if they have substitutions for meat. Or which items can be boughten without the meat

If your'e looking for a party school, look elsewhere. But if you want to finish school within the regular four years, this is the place for you. This is a great school in a great town. The campus is bigger than expected and always lively. Filled with students that support one another, Stan State is the breeding ground for open minded young men and women who are ready to take on the task at hand. The definition of a hidden gem and should not be seen as just a backup choice.

I am a mother of an incoming college athlete. We have had many questions since my child was late to enroll and get housing. EVERYTIME I called with a question (maybe 10 times), I ALWAYS got someone on the phone and ALWAYS got an answer to my question. I was never told "I don't know". Someone on the other end of the phone always made sure they helped me ensured our conversation was helpful. I have never had such great customer service from an educational institution!

The university has lower tuition than other schools in the California State University system. It's a commuter school most people that come to Stan State live in Stanislaus county. The professors are accommodating, and the
library is open at least this semester from 7am-midnight. If there was anything that I would change is that the gym wouldn't be part of our tuition fees if we don't use it. The main reason students enroll at Stan State is to get their degree in order to transfer or start working in their field of study,
few come to Stan State to party.

1st class university education, gorgeous campus, all wrapped up in the friendliest atmosphere imaginable. I made life-long friends that I truly treasure. Plus Turlock has become a perfect sized city. My education here enabled me to enter McGeorge School of Law (University of the Pacific), and to graduate with a Juris Doctorate degree.

I thoroughly enjoyed my studies at CSU Stanislaus. I met so many interesting people, and learned to overcome my shyness...or at least put it aside when I needed to. I was one of the few non-Hmong people to take the Hmong BCLAD there, and pass. I enjoyed helping Dr. Yang proofread some of his publications. One day, I want to take my kids there to visit the campus...perhaps one of them will even attend college there. Who knows?

Campus is really nice and they mostly take care of it. Financial aid on the other hand is horrendous. Do not expect them to help you or do their jobs in a friendly manner. They will do anything they can to deny you in getting financial aid for school. Seems to be a common theme here with several people I know. They don't care if you graduate and are more concerned with catering to international students who pay 100% of the costs.

CSU Stanislaus is one of the smaller CSU campuses in the CSU system. With a student body of just under 9,000, there is a small college feeling to the university and city. I've enjoyed my time at CSU Stanislaus. As a Biology Major ('04), I like the small class size and the openness of professors to questions and suggestions. If you are a student interested in any of the health fields (pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, etc), CSU Stanislaus is a great choice. I know many people who graduated from this university who went on to get graduate degrees from many health professional fields.

Overall, you are going to get a quality education at CSU Stanislaus. In addition, your professors, classmates and friends will help you to grow to become a better individual. I highly recommend this university for your post-secondary education.

So far my experience has been great, I am attending the extended education program and this program meets my needs because I only have to meet once during the week. Its convenient especially with juggling kids and work, if it were not for this program option I wouldn't be able to get this far. It's awesome to be able to get 24 months of classess in 15, way to go StanState!
