Construction was going on that was so annoying it felt as if jackhammers were in the room with you the entire time conversations for impossible because you could not hear one another and on top of that the water was cut off from 1 until at least 5. This could be tolerable if they did not charge you full price for the room regardless of the inconveniences. plus the lady at the front desk was extremely defensive and obviously not I'm concerned about the effects on residents but rather annoyed that people would even mentioned by claiming "you new construction was going on did you not?" this comment was made because I was on the phone with her and she couldn't hear me so I mentioned that's what it was to which she acknowledged she could hear it but kept asking the same question until I was able to hear it in between the jackhammering. No apologies. However most of the other employees were very sorry and I can imagine just as annoyed if not more then those of us who can leave rather than stay there in those conditions. Not much of a show of appreciation for clientele but rather seems pretty greedy and not well thought-out on the probability of lost Revenue in the future. I'll start by adding on to the list.
Rooms are fine. Service at breakfast was terrible and the drink at the bar in the evening tasted watered down. Worst part is only 2 of 4 elevators work so if you like standing at an elevator for 5 minutes every trip then this place is for you. I am Spire with IHG and I would prefer to stay at the Marriott across the street.
Friendly service, great location and very clean. Would definitely stay here again!
Rooms were not as advertised on website. Hotel is outdated and needs to be updated.
Nice hotel. Went for drinks with a guest and was disappointed I didn't stay there.
Not one of the best Crowne's but good for the price.
I ve been in other hotels under construction and renovation, but this place doesn t have it together at all. Rooms not ready at check in time, and nothing but excuses.
The check in staff was very welcoming and friendly. Our reservations were messed up though so we did not get connecting rooms like we requested. The hotel was in the process of being painted inside. The guest in the room beside us was loud and kept us awake most of the night. The front desk was not helpful resolving the issue. The cups provided in the room were dirty. The continental breakfast that was provided according to our reservations was not provided. Instead an expensive breakfast at their restaurant. Horrible service. Lady couldn t understand English to serve drinks. She only gave two people out of four people straws. Unpleasant tables, peeling paint, unsteady legs, and rocked constantly. Breakfast was not worth the price. Check out staff was not friendly.
The hotel was nice. I asked for a old fashion at the bar and was told that they could make it. I dont know what it was but it was so nasty. The restaurant was expensive and that would be okay if the food was good but the food was terrible. I've always stayed at these hotels and the restaurant at other one the food was great. I dont know if it was a bad night or what. Needless to say we didn't eat there for dinner for the remainder of our stay. The breakfast was great. Less face it who messes up breakfast. The rooms where nice and clean very friendly staff.
Hotel rooms are a bit dated but clean. The internet the first night worked well but different room the second noght and the internet would work then slow down to dialup speeds. Breakfast is expensive but a nice buffett.
When we checked in we asked the woman working the front desk if there was a room on the side of the building that could see downtown. She said they didn't have any, and that would be fine, but later on a friend of ours came and checked in (about 5 1/2 hours later!), and guess what you can see out his window? I guess she just didn't care.
There's a $100 hold for incidentals, which is way more than most places, this wasn't mentioned upon check in, and now I'm told it will be there 3 to 5 days. Wonderful.
The room had a bit of an odor, but it wasn't persistent and in a hotel this old it's not surprising. The AC in the room didn't work very well, it was comfortable but if you like to freeze out a hotel room like I do then it won't do it. The vent from the AC blew directly on the bed next to the window in our double bed room, (which thinking back now we weren't asked if that's what we even wanted), and on the 19th floor the water pressure seemed a bit lacking, but the soap, shampoo and conditioner were quite nice. The double bed room does seem a bit cramped, but it's not uncomfortably small. There is a fridge and microwave in the cabinet of the dresser, 1 cup coffee maker, hair dryer, desk, alarm clock, plugs on the lamp bases, and an in room phone.
The elevators run quickly, for having 20 floors I never had to wait more than 20 seconds for it. The outside area beyond the pool is kind of a mess, the pool itself looks good, only very slightly cloudy. There is no hot tub like shown in some of the pictures, and the pool is ample size, but seems smaller than it looks in the pictures shown.
On breakfast, if it was in fact a hotel breakfast the yeah it would be pretty good, maybe a 7/10. However, it's out of the restaurant, the buffet costs $15 + tax, and is NOT worth that much. Even the convenience of it being downstairs is not worth that much. Don't misunderstand me though, if you've got money to burn go for it, the food is good, but there's not nearly enough selection for it to be 15 dollars. I'd go as far to say it's not worth paying the 10 dollars extra when you get your room for the "package deal." I've seen many complimentary breakfasts with a larger selection. The coffee was strong, cream was weak, milk wasn't that cold, no apple juice, good fruit selection, eggs and eggs and chorizo, sausage, chicken sausage, bacon, biscuits, bread, bagels, a couple pastries, oatmeal, sauteed pepper and onion, and gravy.
tldr cons: average air-con, $100 incidental hold for a week, breakfast tasty, but not worth the money
tldr pros: nice views, 'most' staff friendly, fast elevators
It's a good place to stay but they can't seem to get the heat/ac right and in Texas that's no fun!
I asked for the staff to check to see if my daughter could use an empty room to practice a short ballet solo for an upcoming audition. I was told that they would call the room shortly to let us know. There was no call. 90mi. Later I called again, they told me they would call in Just a minute . 30 min later I called and was told that something must be wrong with my room phone because they ve been trying to call. Regardless, the manager would only allow her to use a room if we paid a fee. An unused meeting room. At 6pm. I suppose they figured a ballet solo by a 17 year old would tear the place up. Maybe I should have offered them a few bucks to fix my broken room phone in exchange for using the room. Ridiculous.
After arriving back in Dallas, I tried calling for a ride back to the hotel but no one answered. I called twice and let the phone ring for several minutes. No one responded or called back and I had to pay for an Uber back to the hotel even though pick-up is included in the parking fee. I will not be back.
The hotel is nice and clean with good prices id definitely go back!
The most ghetto fancy hotel I ve ever stayed in. It did have a great view from top floor
Meh, I've stayed at better. Blonde front desk chick was helpful, tho :-)
Awesome staff. Nice clean, luxurious rooms. Upgrade job was done very very well!
It's a wonderful place to be. The staff are wonderful from the front desk to anyone you meet. The rooms are big with new bed etc. I am really at home here.
Not at all worth what I paid for it, overall terrible service, environment, and amenities. I was very disappointed.
The first room we had smelled so bad of mildew or smoke that we had to move to a new one, the whole hotel had a bad smell to it.
The security guard checked a girl out while leading us to our new room
The coffee pot didn't have the thing to put the coffee into and when we called about they said they'd bring one to us and didn't
The prices of breakfast were ridiculous and they charge a service and delivery fee
One of the vending machines wasn't working, they put no sign up so I thought I must've been doing it wrong but I looked at my account and it charged more than it was even supposed to for every time I tried
The air condition doesn't work well it's either way too cold or extremely hot. You can't set it at a good temperature to be just perfect. Also, the air condition is aimed to where it freezes only one bed.
Gym and pool is not what we expected. It stunk in pool area.
I was reading the responses to reviews of the owner saying if issues do ever occur please contact the Front Office immediately and they'll rectify the situation. Based on my experience at this hotel this is false 75% of the time, someone did help switch rooms but I called the front desk to tell them part of the coffee machine was broken and they said they'd be up to fix it we got no call back or any response at all I also contacted the front desk after I realized that the vending machine charged me for something I didn't get and the lady was just making guesses of who I'd need to contact and told me to call back the next day. Once I sat on the phone for a minute and a half before I gave up thinking they'd answer.
Well, hotel in under a most needed renovation. Great customer service. No gym to get a good workout, but hopefully after the renovation there will be one.
The hotel was clean and tidy when we arrived. Check in and out were both quick and the staff was friendly. The cable went out a lot during the brief times we had the TV on, but it came right back on after a few seconds.
The worst hotel experience ever. Gas smell that the housekkeing Manager on duty kept denying was not present and refused to call the fire Dept. until many guest star complaining. Here had very bad mildew smell. No vending machines and a makeshift restaurant. Several of our group members had no hot water and we had too much not able to even it out. They should have opted to close until they completed all renovations.
Excellent location, close to the airport and freeway. Friendly staff.
Gorgeous room and amenities. Comfort and LUXURY at an awesome price.
Lots on renovation construction but the staff was friendly and the room is quite nice.
I honestly feel this should be a 2.5 star review. We needed a little staycation so we thought we would find a deal. We paid $57 a night before taxes and if we had paid any more I would have been upset. The headboard fell off of the wall and apparently it was hanging on by a thread anyway due to all the holes in the wall. I could have been badly hurt, but it did not seem that the customer service was up to par enough to address the mishap in a way I feel a higher end establishment would have. We were given another room and I suppose that was all they had. It was not a terrible place but it was not the greatest place to stay either. If I had a choice again I would choose elsewhere. It was clean and comfortable, but it was not to the standards of what a Crowne Plaza usually is or should be. The pics speak for themselves...
Shower was terrible stayed in a old room when newer ones were available, staff and everyone smoking at the entrance to the building.
It was ok. People were friendly and the location was great for Love Field. The room was dingy, though, and while we were in bed someone used thier key and came into our room which was really unsettling.
Great Hotel One Problem is House Keeping Never Came and Cleaned or room after we asked twice. But front desk send some one up to give us fresh towels. Other then that great place to stay.
Irs a little hard to get too and only one entrance is open. It's deffinetly an older hotel but the service was great
THE ROOMS VERY OUT OF FASHION.THE BEDS A DISASTER.THE SOFA BED VERY COCHINO.CON URINE..NO RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL ... and very expensive the lodging ..
Waited over 20 minutes for airport shuttle, delivered the wrong soup - not what I ordered, given the room right next to elevator when they knew I had a 5:45am departure time, "high" fan doesn't blow any higher than low fan, broken toilet, no tissues in room. Totally unimpressed with this property and too tired to call and then wait for resolutions.
i have no qualms with the hotel itself. the staff on the other hand, twice!!, walked into the room without so much as knocking. once i was using the restroom, the 2nd time fresh out the shower! that's right, naked. the time i was just out of the shower, the housekeeper wanted to stand in the doorway and talk to me for a few minutes, while I'm completely naked!!! i finally just had to shut the door in the middle of the conversation I'm now having in the nude ---with the MAID! I also caught a FEW groups of the employees in the lobby clearly talking about the patrons staying in the hotel, including myself and my party. the building has pretty decent views [on the highway side, at least!] & was clean... but thanks to the people working here, i was looking forward to leaving, & even stayed elsewhere the last 3 days of my visit. oh well, their loss!!
Better all-around quality at a motel 6. I booked a room for myself and my children for a weekend visit be for Thanksgiving and quickly found out that service is a thing of the past with this hotel. Our first night we were freezing because the heat did not work in our room and the A/C would not turn off (it literally ran all night while it was 40 degrees outside). I called to have the heat fixed. Once it was fixed the room quickly heated up but here's the catch, the room became sweltering but the A/C no longer worked! I called the front desk and was told in a very careless manner by a man named George that "Well you can have A/C or heat but you cannot have both. I can send someone to turn it off for you or can you do that?"
So you can either freeze or sweat during your entire stay. Not worth the $160, stay closer to Highland Park, the La Quinta was luxury compared to this Neanderthal hovel.
The worst hotel I have ever stayed at in the room the table was broken the refrigerator didn t work the room stunk ac didn t work and they didn t do anything about it definitely would not waste your money here
Rooms are not as they show it in the pictures, needs improvement. Bathrooms do not have extractor, very small baths. Will not come again. Staff is ok, but furniture and stuff from room is very old
Ms lulu THE HR LADY HAS PICKS THE SUPERVISOR BARBRA HAS AN INAPPROPRIATE RELATIONSHIP WITH ONE OF THE WORKS LULU HIRES ALL MESSY FOLKS & FIRES THE OTHER WITH OUT TIM KNOWING THE TRUTH IT'S SAD HOW THEY COVER UP JUST TO MAKE MONEY THIS PLACE WILL BE INVESTIGATED!! TIM IS SO LOST TO IT ALL
Horrible experience. When booking did not mention construction site. Halls and room have an awful odor. AC didn t work the first two nights. Hose from toilet wasn t connected and flooded floors every time you flushed.
I can only tell the trust , By far the worst hotel ! The way they treat their staff is horrible . I've walked into this hotel on several accounts and I must say that is no way you should talk to anyone . Everyone is grown . I'm not sure who runs this franchise but they need to do better , I would consider a new job search !!!! The housekeeping manager Barbara is very rude and talks to her housekeepers as if they are children very unprofessional , who gave this women her position . Let's talk about over stepping your boundaries and taking your position a little to over the top for me . In order for people to want to work you have to treat them with mutual respect and that's just bottom line . My heart goes out to the hardworking housekeepers I honestly feel like they do their very best . This should be an equal opportunity hotel , I could be wrong . Treat others how you would want to be treated . I know I'm all over the place but I am just disgusted on how rude, unprofessional and ghetto this manager is . Who hired her ? Besides all of the negative feed back others have written I think this one should be taken into consideration you can't help how old the hotel is but you can take action with those running this hotel !!! I will continue to visit the hotel because I know how it is working somewhere and things like this don't get acknowledged. This is defenitly for you ms. Barbara . God doesn't like ugly and he isn't to fond of pretty so treat these ladies with the respect they deserve . And don't let that little manager position get over your head the same way you got the job it can easily be taken away . And I'm surely not done I will be contacting everyone I can that's over her to let it be known how unkindly she treats these employees . Now that we've got that cleared up the mix chick crystal who's always following behind you lol I'm not sure exactly what to say but I walk in the hotel one afternoon and she's arguing with one of the housemens that work there I'm not sure if they're dating but that's something that should have been dealt with , several other guest seen this as well but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know what's going on here at this hotel and I will defenitly get to the bottom of this. I'll be contacting mark the GM manager and hopefully I can get through to him but this is unlikely I'm not exactly sure whats going on but if I had ten red flags I'll raise twelve of them simply because something fishy and crooked is going on here at this hotel . Tighten up Barbara I see everything that's going on at this hotel and it's not right . Other than that very nice hotel comfortable beds and the rooms and amazingly clean for the most part it is an older hotel . Keep up the good work housekeee0ing ladies and gents
A little run down. Big rooms. Smokey near ekeelevat. Friendly staff. Really needs updating. Free parking is a plus!
My room was clean and reasonably comfortable. The facility is being renovated which isn't ideal at the moment. Front desk staff service could use some development.
I thought the make over would help.. lobby is cold and GREY not WARM place to walk into
Comfortable rooms, free parking, great staff. No complaints what so ever. Great view.
Soon rooms were very unclean. My room was newly renovated but had smelled of wet paint.
An old Grand Dame of the hotel industry that sadly is in dear need of maintenance and uplift. That said, the service was par to none. Very friendly staff, fast to respond to any need and making you feel at home, the key elements for Great hospitality.
someone walked in my room with the door lock and they didn't do anything about if you ask it was an inside job and there are letting people in cause when I was calling the police they escorted him to his vehicle.
Terrible service they don't do the toilet
Elevators were not working
Cards are deactivated very often
Old dated rooms. AC works like garbage. Lost hot water during our stay, was out for hours. Rooms are very run down and finding a lot of broken and damaged furniture everywhere. I feel like this is more of a motel then a hotel.
Great room, great service at the bar. Mo is great, he is great with people. He'll make you a really good drink.
Weight room was a joke. Pool was nice. Staff was excellent. Room very clean and a great size. Enjoyed our stay.
The service wasn't that great my room didn't have a phone they said they will bring one but never did
It is being remodeled and the truth is that they lack a lot, the old rooms, more on the top floor, stink of humidity, not recommended to stay, the new room is so good, but the cleaning service does not change the creams and shampoo every day and you can run out of these products.
What is very remarkable is the service and attitude of the kitchen staff, incredibly nice.
In general, if you are passing through it is a good hotel but for shopping or visiting the city nothing to see.
I stayed here for a cheer leading competition and there wasn't much to choose from considering every hotel was booked. This hotel is absolutely disgusting and I wouldn't suggest staying here. There were cock roaches, the pool was green, and the whole entire hotel smelled of mildew! Absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I would rather stay in a motel! I complained and nothing was done. At least they could have given us back one night since my family didn't get to sleep all weekend due to the fact we were nervous about having cock coaches invading our bed. Absolutely horrible! If you want a better experience in Dallas I suggest not to stay here!
Dirty, in disrepair. Very old and dated. Can't believe it has the Crowne Plaza branding still.
The service was generally OK. But the property is very old and in need of upkeep.
Super comfortable room that was quiet and well maintained!
The bartender Moe was awesome makes wonderful drinks but the shuttle service left us waiting for 4 hours was not very happy
Is a first class establishment I would recommend everyone to stay when they visit in Dallas
