I have been a member of this gym for about 5 years and I LOVE it!! We have an amazing group who support each other. The work outs are hard, but are altered for all different levels. The owners truly care about their community and the coaches push me hard to try to get better everyday.

I have been coming to CFTC for 2 yrs now being the newby to the area. Love the coaches and the people that come here. Have made some great friends here. Each coach concentrates on form and technique making sure you are doing your movements correctly.
I absolutely love this gym! The coaches are fantastic and really take time to get to know and understand each member and their fitness goals to help them improve. You'll see amazing results while enjoying the fun, social atmosphere of the classes. CrossFit Tysons Corner made me look forward to working out!
I had been thinking about starting Crossfit for the last year, but it took a Groupon deal to get me started. Once I got in the door, I was hooked! The owners are friendly, welcoming, and super receptive to feedback (new classes, times, open gym!). The coaches are patient, really knowledgeable, and encouraging. There is just the right amount of push, and they've helped me through a bunch of (mostly mental) plateaus. I would recommend CFTC, and have, to anyone thinking about starting Crossfit. It took no time before I felt like I was part of the CFTC family!
I tried Crossfit over 10 years ago and at the time I thought it wasn't for me. About two years ago I joined CFTC and it has been amazing. I now realize that the reason I didn't like it 10 years ago was due to the gym I originally went to and lack of support I received. CFTC is the complete opposite from my original experience at a different gym. The coaches welcomed me with open arms. Everyone is friendly and really helps push you through the workouts. The coaches have helped me improve quickly but safely. I am in way better shape and feel healthier because of CFTC. You guys are awesome!
I have been going to this box for 2 yrs. now. I will be 69 soon and thanks to Crossfit Tysons Corner I feel more mobile and stronger then I did when I started. They watch to make sure I am doing the movements properly so I don t hurt myself. Tysons Corner Crossfit has built a friendly community of athletes.
Coaches are excellent! Classes are small enough to get individual attention but big enough to keep the vibe energetic. People are very friendly! I highly recommend the Saturday morning WODs, they are super fun and get you ready for the weekend!
I went to a regular gym for a long time before joining CFTC and my first workout at CFTC was more of a workout than my whole experience going to a regular gym. The owners are friendly, the coaches are great, and the variety in the program is great. If you're looking for a workout that will make you feel great, you should stop by.
This is a great gym, with top notch coaches who focus on proper form and a welcoming, friendly environment. It s a very diverse box accommodating to all fitness levels, so whether you are a seasoned crossfitter or brand new to fitness, there is a place for you here. Most classes are fairly small, so you get lots of individual attention from coaches. I never thought I d be a Crossfit addict, but it s quickly turned into the best hour of my day!
Have been coming to the gym for over two years and love the people and the staff. Friendly and welcoming environment for beginners . The coaches take the time to teach the skills and give guidance. Great workout!
My experience with CFTC was close to perfect, the warmth and welcoming made the experience memorable. The owners' embrace is firm yet comfortable. Alas I cheated with another. I look forward to the time when my situation brings me home.
The coaching staff brings a wide range of experience, expertise, and instruction styles. You'll find first-timers working in class alongside athletes who've trained for years, which allows for faster skill development and fitness gains. Everyone is friendly, no egg-heads or ego-maniacs. Competitive pricing, nice changing and shower facilities, top-notch programming, and Tysons is quickly becoming the place to be.
I recently moved to the NoVa area and tried several crossfit gyms in the area. This gym was the best deal and is super beginner friendly! I had never tried crossfit before and from day one the coaches were very attentive to making sure that I did everything properly. I have improved significantly in the first few months. The coaches all bring their own strengths and are all very knowledgeable even if they struggle with the move or skill. The staff is very down to earth but cares enough to challenge you. The members are also great and very knowledgeable. They also are super friendly and helped me adjust to the area quickly!
Super friendly staff & Coaches! I was a 1st timer to Crossfit when I tried out Crossfit Tyson's Corner and never felt left out, even some of the regulars helped me get use to the different W.O.D.s. All level exercises give me something to push for and the positive environment provided by the owners & staff have me returning weekly! Love this gym!
I ve trained at many boxes, both regularly and drop-ins. I decided to give this box a try. I introduced myself, mentioned my experience, and explained that I looked up the published WOD on their website and purposely chose to start there on that day given that WOD. Despite that, I was greeted with a very unwelcoming and holier-than-thou attitude. Admittedly, the person who was in charge of signing me up wasn t the usual person. I only knew this because this person complained about their new administrative duties. Maybe this person was having a bad day, or maybe this person really isn t meant to work customer service, but that doesn t give carte blanche to be rude. I could go into great detail about this person s cluelessness regarding scaling of exercises, failure to pay attention to detail, false advertising from their website, and just a general bad attitude, but I don t feel like ruining my day by reliving the experience. In the end, I was essentially asked to come back another time for my intro session. I left knowing that would not happen. I don t mean to trash this box in its entirety. I m sure they have other coaches who are competent and encourage a more positive vibe with their community of crossfitters. This review is simply to give the owners/managers something to be mindful of regarding their service staff.
I was hesitant to try crossfit because of the reputation that crossfit-ers are hyper competitive and are overzealous about it. Thankfully, I happened to walk into CrossFit Tysons Corner. The owners and coaches could not have been more welcoming, and while there is lots of motivation to work hard and get fit, I haven't experience any of that "crossfit" zeal I had heard about. Lots of laughing and joking, while getting in a pretty tough workout. The coaches were terrific about helping me learn the program. I had been a gym guy for a long time, but many of the crossfit exercises were new. The coaches made me feel comfortable from day one and are very knowledgable. I've now been doing it for a year. I'm in MUCH better shape today, despite working out at a gym daily for a decade before I joined. I look forward to going. It's social as well as physical. Two big thumbs up!!
Yesterday was my first day ever stepping into cross fit place, and admittedly did so, because of the affordable of CrossFit Tysons. I suspected that once I gave it a try I would like it, however, other places in the area are ridiculously unaffordable. The coach was super great and provided great feedback during the workouts. Nearing my last set of a workout, I tried to add additional weight and as I explained to the coach, he insisted not adding on weight and instead suggested that I add an additional set in. I appreciated the fact that he realized I was a newbie and didn't push me or allowed me to push myself and ease into it. I will be back for sure!
I travel a lot for work, so this box was my CrossFit choice of the week. The staff were knowledgeable, and all the members were awesome - even so great as to give me a ride post-workout to grab breakfast before heading out to work.
Class structures are your typical, well-rounded CrossFit structure. Definitely recommend this one.
This is a fantastic place. The staff are friendly and know their stuff, they put great workouts together, and I love the focus on building strength with straightforward bodyweight, lifting, and resistance exercises
I've been able to work out at CrossFit Tysons corner for almost two years now and it is far and away the best gym that I have ever been a part of. The coaches and owners are constantly trying to improve the over all experience for the athletes using CrossFit, yoga, and Olympic lifting classes.
This place has changed my life! On my first visit, I was walking towards the Massage Parlor next door. Until a Native American Man approached me, he told me that my life would get better if I joined this gym and that he would befriend me for life. It was truly tempting. He also added he would purchase my Shwarma next door as an added bonus. So I said why not. I've been here 8 months now, I've met such a great community. I've met some Canadians, unstoppable Native Americans, smiling gingers, shepherds pie lovers, and some guy from Mallorca. The coaches are very knowledgeable, and help you where you want to be. The program caters to everyone, Except those with egos. There are barbecues and get togethers. You'll quickly make friends and meet so many people that will help you during each workout. Ultimately, my goal was to reduce my cholesterol and maintain my blood sugar, I could've easily changed my diet, instead I joined CFTC. As you can see the results are eminent. See picture.
They didn't let me try the class for free, because they only have that for new people to Crossfit, gym super small, I was visiting from work but for sure will never be back
First, I'm not a crossfitter. I first went to this gym at the recommendation of a very good friend. He was spot on here. The coaches welcomed a total newbie without hesitation and helped to tweak a few of the exercises to smoothen the learning curve. Coaches seem to spot and assist before you realize you need a little tweak. I've got major shoulder issues; they modified the workout to ensure I could still get a good workout and not harm myself further. The members themselves are pretty awesome as well; they frequently motivate and look out for each other.
The owners seem extremely committed to improving all aspect of the gym from facilities to staff and continue expanding their offerings. They also aim to build a great sense of community with frequent social events.
MY only regret is not living closer to workout with them more frequently; that said, when in Tysons, I try to get in a workout with them.
Great Gym, really friendly. Been coming for a little over a year and from day one have been nothing but encouraging. The classes are composed of all ages and experience level so it s inviting to all people. The location is great and has on site shower/changing rooms. This gym has done a Great job creating not only a fun fitness environment but also a wonderful community.
