I stayed one night for a business trip. The room was nice, the breakfast (paid) was good, and the staff was friendly.
I stayed one night for a business trip. The room was nice, the breakfast (paid) was good, and the staff was friendly.
Good location. Staff was friendly and room was clean. No complaints.
It was convenient to be in close proximity to the Hospital.
Rooms were very nice, bit the Bistro was out of almost everything.
The closest hotel to UAB hospital, 5 feet from front doors to hospital elevators. Highly recommend if you have someone a staying at UAB. Artsy. Soft beds. Bistro & 24/7 shop. Nice lobby to meet in with group seating or personal chairs w/ lamps & double power outlets. Bistro serves alcohol & food till 10. Older building but everything has been renovated nicely. $147&up. No singles. Suites & handicap rooms available. Ice on all floors. 24/7 fitness center. No pool.
My mom and I stayed here for approximately 2 weeks while my dad was hospitalized to have a liver tumor removed. We paid an average of $175 a night, and this was the UAB hospital discount rate . During our stay, it was like pulling teeth to get our room cleaned. We would constantly have to call and ask to have it serviced. Our room was even skipped two days in a row and when I expressed frustration to the front desk, I was told they would inform the house keeping manager, but nothing ever got better. We finally got tired of begging to have the room cleaned. This would have been less frustrating had we not paid close to $3000 for our 15 night stay. If you are going to promote yourself as the hotel connected to UAB, and your patrons largely be individuals who are dealing with family members who are hospitalized, then your standards should match what you promote. We would have checked out a long time ago had it not been for the fact that we live close to an hour away, and needed a convenient place to stay to help take care of my dad.
Loved it I enjoyed my birthday there every part of it
Called ahead to get a room for a couple of days due to family member being severely injured and got there and didn't have a room and had to wait even longer to get it cleared up
Having problems with the plumbing. Toilet flushes slow or not at all. Sink water barely flows. Filter is stopped up. Shower ok
Location convenient to hospital. Discount because spouse was a patient.
Not really helping people that has loved ones in the hospital, high rates
The hotel itself is a typical Courtyard. What makes this one stand out is the staff. The entire staff was wonderful, however, I would like to recognize one individual. I witnessed Johnmon (sp?) assist multiple guests, myself included, and do so with the utmost kindness and understanding. Thanks staff at Courtyard UAB for making my stay as pleasant as possible.
Very nice and clean, comfortable beds, and good service.
It did not appear that the staff was overly concerned about making sure the guest had a quality experience. An example... the parking setup is dependent on getting validated stamps each time you enter and exit the facility. Upon leaving I asked the attendant to stamp my parking card only to have the card not stamped as well as it needed to be. Once I got to the parking meter I had to pay to exit the garage. When I returned to the front desk and asked the attendant about the situation I was told that there was nothing that she could do even though the misapplied stamp was her doing. These attendants struck me as disengaged and interested in doing more to avoid work than they were to provide customer service.
Great convenience to UAB. Just wish prices were lower for that convenience.
When I told the manager about the roaches in my room, she didn't care at all. She talked as if we were nothing and said roaches come out in the summer anyway. So, I guess where supposed to pay to sleep with roaches. Wow. How rude and nonchalant can a person be. Check the pics out, one in the bathroom and one started crawling near the ceiling.
We had to stay because my husband had surgery at UAB and were very satisfied with the room and the service! It was right there at the hospital so all we had to do was take him up the the room and put him to bed!
Hotel is nice. Standard Courtyard bistro. Parking is terrible, it's shared with a hospital and always crowded. Very slow to exit.
The hotel to itself is very nice. Very nice room (Suite). One minor issue. But you can ask me if you like to know! No need to make it public!
Great hotel.
They should consider doing a free continental breakfast with the rooms.
This is supposed to be a five-star hotel and they use cheap toilet paper. Most five-star hotels have a complimentary breakfast also.
Very nice staff and common areas. Clean, comfortable rooms.
No hot water. High priced. Insignificant discount over hot water.
My aunt had a accident while my mother was having heart surgery and after I got my aunt in bed they checked in on her while I was with my mom
Sadly, while waiting on my father-in-law to be taken back for a liver transplant, we finally made it to the hotel at 2:00 am. While waiting to be checked in, the desk clerk informed us that they normally provided military discounts. However, since they were almost to capacity, they stopped providing that service. We paid $200.00 to stay for 6 hours. As a hotel located near a major hospital, one would hope they d be more accommodating during difficult times.
Room 212 for the past week amazing service and very understanding for our situation.
Very nice hotel. Very convenient to UAB hospital. Room was spotless upon arrival. However, was not worth the price. Can find places to stay that are just as nice, but at lower price, and get more included with your stay, such as free breakfast.
Nice and clean modern rooms. Better than the springhill suites. Bed is comfortable, AC is noisy, but that's not unusual. Breakfast is expensive, and no complimentary coffee downstairs, gotta pay.
nice hotel. the rooms are a little small, but they work well. the sink in the bathroom is weak however.
It was nice, but not worth what we paid. Rooms were smaller than what we were used to. But, everything was clean, and staff was friendly.
Nice accommodations, linked to the hospital by a concourse. This suite was a godsend while my wife was having surgery and recovery next door.
The staff was very helpful. Everything was clean and neat.
Room was very nice and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Nice and convenient for hospital patients and family that are there related to U.A.B. hospital visits. Comfortable and pretty quiet, considering it's proximity to U.A.B. ER department.
Paid for breakfast but they were unable
to provide
Very helpful staff. Clean rooms. Came in handy while visiting my sister at UAB Hospital.
Was not impressed. Parking was in the parking garage at the hospital. Was not bad though because they validated the parking ticket and I did not have to pay for parking. Rooms were nice. No robes in room though. Also, went downstairs to buy coffee from their Bistro and it was closed in the middle of the day. We had to go to the hospital to get coffee. Also they had drinks and snacks available in the lobby but the prices were so high on them that it was not worth it. Got my room bill under the door and went to check out and they charged me $21 for room service that I did not get. Also a lady behind me came up and said they charged her double.
Too expensive. I get you are downtown but the rooms are basic lodging.
Very convenient for anyone visiting downtown Birmingham. I was visiting a family member currently in UAB hospital, very short walk from the hospital entrance. Room was clean, staff was nice.
It was a pretty nice and clean hotel. The view out of the bedroom was of a gas station, which actually turned out to be quite entertaining!
Great if you have to stay close to UAB Hospital & still need to be able keep things going while away from the office. Staff was great & very helpful.
The beds were extremely comfortable, and the temperature control was also nice.
When Pulling up to check in, there's very limited space if their are two others cars checking in.
Also parking is shared with Hospital next door so that makes it a very crowded garage during the week.
Friendly and fast service, beautiful hotel, comfy beds.
Convenient to UAB hospital but to pricey. Rather stay at Hilton which is a short drive to UAB. . .
Do not accept a room by the fitness room because they have inexperienced people in there dropping weights at 6am in the morning and when you call the desk and complain, all they do is ask you what you want to do.... poor customer service while sleeping hours with loud banging .
They are by the hospital. We did not know how long we would need to stay they gouged us raising price each night.
Very nice hotel. You can tell it is an older hotel that has been updated. Connected to the kirklin clinic, north and west pavilion.
Excellent hotel and room, but the parking is horrible. It's shared with the hospital traffic and entirely too crowded.
Amazing facilities. Great stay in Birmingham. Can't complain about nothing the service was A-1.
Desk clerk very rude. Room was dusty. Was told by reservations clerk deposit was one hundred upon arrival desk clerk told us it was two hundred and fifty. Would not check confirmation number to see what reservation clerk had told us. Room for night almost 200 dollars. Very over priced for what you get. Only reason to stay there is it's close to UAB Hospital.
We were there for 2nights because my grandson was in the hospital.no discounted rates just because she did not went to call hospital. Rooms are nice but very loud all night both nights.
Lots of food near the hotel. Location is perfect for USB.
Hotel was nice and staff were quite helpful. The hotel was located in the center of everything and was within walking distance of many different restaurants and venues.
Always great greetings from front desk very clean rooms great location
Hotel was okay. Not the best or the worst. Staff was very nice.
We recently had a family reunion and used this hotel as our home base. It was located close to most of our designated activity areas and even though it was close to the hospital , we weren't really bothered by ambulance or EMS sirens. There were a multitude of restaurants within close proximity for those not wishing to partake of the free complimentary breakfasts that were provided for us daily. The rooms were comfortable and the conference room were we met at the beginning and end of our days, were well stocked. The staff was extremely accommodating. We had a marvelous experience.
This is a nice property with absolutely amazing staff. All of the front desk, plus Jarel-Valet, we wonderful to me. I had an emergency at the hospital across the street and the hotel communicated with me so I truly appreciate the thoughtfulness. I'm an employee with Marriott today because of the wonderful experiences I had as a child when my father worked for a Courtyard by Marriott. CBM has been my favorite every since and this stay continues to prove why.
Nice and clean hotel. Lots of street noise but timber expected for the location.
Everything was as you would expect it. Top-notch facilities, amazing staff, great rooms with nice views, comfortable bed, nice bathroom. Even the Wi-Fi was great which isn't normal with hotels. I originally Lee the entertainment which allowed you to sign into your own netflix or hulu account! It even included free HBO!
This hotel is located directly across from the UAB hospital. It even has an enclosed catwalk connecting directly to the hospital. It is a quick 2 block walk to Children's Hospital of Birmingham and very convenient to both. The rooms are very nice and quite comfortable. The staff is professional and friendly. Will definitely stay here again if I need to visit the area.
Close to University, convenient, clean, nice place to stay
Very nice! But, very expressive! My husband was in the hospital and I stay here for a few hours. They need to give more of a discount when you have a family member in UAB!
