Decent first impression, then downhill :-(. Wi-Fi guest started out strong (5mbps down and up, low ping), allowing for both work and play. Then all Wi-Fi down for the whole hotel...server failure/hardware(?) issue...won't be fixed until sometime tomorrow O.o. Turned on the TV and it was shutting down after 5-60 seconds. To their credit at nearly 2am, they sent up an engineer. When the problem continued, he suggested I switch rooms to get a room with a working TV. I said i prefered that ge bring a TV from the good room, which they ended up doing. So I didn't get to bed until even later, but the TV did work...kinda...dropped signal every 15-20m??? Ugh.
The room layout has a long hall with shower/commode, washroom/closet, then bed/sitting area, which seems like a waste of space. Bed was comfortable, room quiet. Location is good...lots of restaurants in walking distance.

Our room was nice! Free wifi was a plus. Parking across the street down the way was a bit odd, and a pain when we left because we had purchased so many items while in Toronto... but we'd stay here again.
Divine sevice, very clean, friendly staff. The inly cincerning thing was there was no conditioner left in the full size bottle they refill - and i had already stepped into the shower.
Excellent stay. Room was well appointed and very clean. Enjoyed the additional living space in the suite. Location was very central. Would definitely recommend!
It is close to Eaton center. The Cn tower will walk. It is good for the price. It is not a buffet but on the first floor you can order french toast, egg fries, and toast. However, there is a large building construction site on the north side. I recommend French toast and egg fry with toast for breakfast. There is a construction site on the north side.
Not the greatest... First of all, a hotel that has check-in after 4pm and checkout before 11am shouldn't exist. Those aren't acceptable hours. What really annoyed me though, are the self-important guards at the door who ask to see your to key before they let you into the hotel. I've never had that experience before. Using "security" as an excuse for such action, especially in a fairly safe city, in a safe neighborhood, in a big hotel is just not acceptable.
Hotel was clean and the rooms were nicely furnished. Staff was very friendly. Only minor complaints are the lack of hot tub, high prices at the restaurant, the WiFi, and the elevators could use an upgrade.
Old dirty elevators and ugly hallways. Ask to stay in the South tower, rooms are slightly better than the north if you must stay here. Plain bedrooms, old bathtubs, noisy air conditioners, no artwork on walls. Unimpressed by the front desk and lobby.
The hotel is only a few miles from many of Toronto's attractions such as the Royal Ontario Museum and Casa Loma. They also offer a bus tour which is continually looping through the city that you can hop on and off of as often as you'd like for 48 hours. It was only about $45 CAD per adult, which is not bad considering how much walking it saves you, or the cost of parking if you try to drive yourself. The hotel room was very accommodating with two queen beds and a pull out couch. Our first room had an issue where the bathroom door was broken, but the staff responded quickly and moved us to a new room. Overall, we're very satisfied with our experience!
The personnel is always of service and really there for their clients needs. The restaurant has a very limited menu but there is a lot of great places by walking distance. It is conveniently located in the heart of downtown, and has well maintained pool and gym. The rooms aren't new but they are well maintained and well equipped.
As far as the hotel itself goes, the facility is reasonably clean. The room was large but layout we had was a bit strange, the shower/toilet was in one room with a door but the sink was across the room's entry hall in an alcove. The front desk folks were friendly and helpful.
They must have a problem with rowdy guests. I had to sign a paper saying that I'd be quiet in the room and the public areas had several signs reminding you of their *ZERO TOLERANCE NOISE POLICY*. The lobby always had a security guy on duty, looking unfriendly. I felt secure, but not welcome.
GROUP BOOKING BEWARE! We contracted the Courtyard Marriott Downtown Toronto to host guests attending our wedding. We were assigned a sales rep who was less than helpful in addressing matters concerning our guests who were booking internationally. During the days leading up to the wedding several guests complained that upon contacting the callcenter, they were either addressed rudely, put on hold for long periods of time or hung up on. As a result several guests either cancelled their reservation with Marriott or decided to book somewhere else entirely. Furthermore, in contacting the callcenter myself, I was 1)dealt by a rep who sounded very disorientated, 2) he made fun of my last name, 3) said he could not find a reservation, 4) put on hold for over 10 mins, 5) returning back on the line with all my confirmation but only after I requested to speak to a supervisor 6) promised to upgrade the room and provide a meal for the poor service but was never emailed a confirmation.
The worst part of all of this whole matter was that upon requesting a new confirmation in writing, I contacted the hotel, who claimed they had no information from the callcenter. I later called back the callcenter and requested to speak to a supervisor who although seemed helpful, was not able to find the rep who served me despite "the call being recorded".
The sales rep from the hotel did contact us to state that they will be upgrading the room as they do for the bride and groom normally but that they will not honor the dinner promised by the callcenter. SMH. I mentioned to the sales rep that even if they provided the dinner it would not make up for the absolutely poor customer service received along the way.
The rooms are fine, nothing spectacular. Note, there is constructions happening right beside the building that may disturb you early in the morning.
I wasn't planning on writing any review until my husband looked at his statement a few days ago to see that they charged him incorrectly and then this morning he was charged again for parking when he has no vehicle and doesn't drive. Those words express my frustration with the Marriott and the Courtyard Marriott Downtown Toronto. If you are planning a wedding or a group occasion DO NOT plan it with the Marriott. They are clearly not well equipped to handle large group functions. Save yourself stress.

Convenient central location . Great view of surrounding new construction. Saw no fewer than nine cranes running on new condos in Spring 2019 stay on the top floor. Very nice district on Young Street just for walking just about anytime of the day or night for good dining.
I had a dinner at the bistro restaurant indoor was the first time ,very good experience, server was professional, helpful, nice, five stars service ,I Really enjoyed he made my night his name (Pavan)
Totally fine experience. Internet went down for a bit but NBD as we were out and only know because it was well communicated. Elevators are a bit scary and overall the hotel just felt OK. Good value for the money though.
Went to the restaurant here with some gift cards I had. Server was very good and the roast beef sandwich with butternut squash soup I had was also awesome.
I have never loved a hotel neighborhood as much as I've loved this one. What a fun area to stay in!!! Tons of shops and food around, all within walking distance.
The hotel itself is nice. The lobby areas are nice, there's a bar and food downstairs (their broccoli cheddar soup was impressive) and other amenities I did not use but looked high quality.
Very clean, friendly staff. I was there for a professional exam and it was great to have some quiet comfortable places to stay throughout the lobby and various other spaces as I didn't have a room. Valet parking was reasonably priced and service there was great, too.
The food provided for our morning event was great. The technical staff also did a phenomenal job ensuring the presentations went as smoothly as possible.
I was at this location for a work meeting. The venue was nice and staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely look forward to visiting this location again
Good for business conferences and events. Very centrally located. Excellent staff. Wouldn't stay here for leisure purposes though. Good catering & amenities.
Had a business meeting on the lobby floor. Staff was friendly and accommodating. If you're craving Starbucks, there's one here. They don't take the Starbucks phone app though.
Lovely room but when I moved foot stool found a pair of mens underpantsCalled desk they apologized offered me points but never applied them to my account poor customer service
We really enjoyed our 1 night stay at Courtyard by Marriott. The hospitality was excellent. Every staff member we encountered was pleasant, helpful & courteous. The location is very convenient. It was affordable & clean. It's an old building so of course it has some imperfections but it's clean, smells clean and we felt safe. We'll stay there again for sure!
Good morning! Although it s so frustrating that the guest attendant by the name Sindy was not helpful enough to direct us to the right event. She doesn t even want us to see the schedule closely , but found out that it was the same info beside the Christmas Tree anyway. She also sent me to get in to the Wood room where there s exams going on. It was so embarrassing. How can someone be in the front & not being friendly & helpful enough to welcome people? What a shame, that I have to buy something in the bistro to get the right location. Thanks to the nice cashier Rodgert.
