This is a horrible place to work, they don't give you proper training they just throw you on the floor to work.
The company will not tell you that the correctional facility's medical unit where you will be assigned is understaffed and expects you to work odd and too much extra hours!
The culture is full of violations such as J-A-01: Access to Healthcare! Understaffed and underpaid both correctional officers and medical staff!
They are jeopardizing inmates' health and medical staff's health!

I use to work at East Baton Rouge Parish Prison in Baton Rouge, La. and it was the worst experience ever!!! Management is horrible and they can t keep anyone!!! I m an LPN and another nurse cursed me out and tried to pick a fight with me (yes at a prison) and I immediately reported her and they fired both of us. Some of the other coworkers told them that I followed the protocol for a situation like that and they fired me too but I was going to be leaving there soon anyway because I hated the environment and everyone worked there in Medical was pass unprofessional. They act worse than the inmates. Not to mention your own safety smh. The deputies are too scared of the inmates so it s clear they can t protect you!!! The human resource department in Georgia could care less because they didn t try to look into my situation. They was just ready to get rid of you no matter who was a fault!!!
