The emergency room was packed like sardines due to "everybody having covid" . No personal privacy whatsoever. The nurses treated us well, but my father did not have his own room when he was in the emergency room at this location. I don't recall this happening at spohn south hospital. I would love for somebody to please get back to make asked her why we would have been subjected to covid patients when none of us had covid symptoms.

My sister was taken to this Hospital in an ambulance and was completely treated unprofessionally. The doctor took one look at her scars (she is an ex-addict) and dismissed her as a druggie there looking for a fix. She has been clean for over 5 years now. His behavior was completely unprofessional and should have his medical license revoked. This is the same Hospital that sent my wife home when she had ecoli blood poisoning telling her to drink a lot of water. Then called the next day to see if she was still alive and told us to immediately bring her back for her VERY life threatening illness. Stay away from this place at all costs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is my story and please pay attention and know...

This is my story and please pay attention and know this is true and I am sharing this in the hope that it never happens to anyone else. My husband was diagnosed and treated for cancer and the prognosis was very good, He had one week left of chemo and radiation when he came down with a secondary infection which landed him in Bay Area Hospital for a week. The Doctors treated the infection but neglected the man kinda like the surgery was a great sucess but the patient died. My husband was severly depressed and they did not treat it until he left. My complaint is the residency Dr who had him convienced that he was never going to leave the hospital alive. One nurse in particular told him he would loose his arm if he was not careful about the chemo. Bottom line my husband left the hospital on a Sunday and within 1 hour he was dead. Now my life if filled with "what ifs", TThe Dr treated the disease but neglected the man and now I am left with the carnage. Do not use this Hospital or its Drs. The hospital staff and Drs that work there are not what they should be. This will forever be my greatest regret.

The Staff in the ER was amazing. Me and my family member have been here twice both times we both understood how packed it was and they assured us how it will take awhile but with how friendly and people skilled oriented they were my family member stayed calm and waited until her turn. Sometimes patients can be overwhelmed and dramatic but they where able reassure and assist her when they could. That's all I could ask for is friendly and helpful ER Staff. People skills can go a long way! We live far but the drive is worth coming to this hospital

My dad is being treated very badly. Dr. keeps being rude and no compassion at all. Won't answer questions accordingly. Does not give a plan of treatment nor give him a correct diagnosis. Staff, i.e., doctors will not keep him informed. Called the upper management as well to notify them of what is being done to my father still have not heard back from anyone. THEY HAVE NO CARE, NO COMPASSION, NO UNDERSTANDING, NO CUSTOMER, SERVICE SKILLS, NO DEDICATION, NO EMPATHY, AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE KIND OF SERVICE THEY ARE PROVIDING. WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY TO ANYONE IN MY FAMILY OR FRIENDS. YOU CAN TELL THAT BY MOST OF THE REVIEWS THAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK THE SAME WAY AND IT HIGH TIME THE MEDICAL REVIEW BOARD NEEDS TO BE INFORMED OF HOW THE PATIENT'S HERE AT CC BAY AREA ARE BEING TREATED. MY DAD GOT WHEELED HERE FROM HIS DR'S OFFICE, HE WAS NOT GIVEN A CHOICE. HE NEEDED TO BE TREATED IMMEDIATELY AND THIS IS THE KIND OF CARE HE IS GETTING. WHAT IF IT WAS THEIR LOVED ONES. THE ONCOLOGISTS THAT TREATED MY DAD IS ONE BAD DOCTOR IN OUR EYES. WOULD NOT TRUST HIM OR THE COLLEAGUES HE REFERS TO FOR NOTHING IN THIS WORLD AND ESPECIALLY NOT WITH MY DAD

My wife had a procedure there and they were wonderful. We've never had any problems. And BTW, there are protocols for head injuries, imaging is not always done, and when it is it's usually a CT.

If i could give a lower rating i would. Dont take loved ones to ER there. My wife went 7 months pregnant. She went to ER for help because she was severely bleeding. As she walked in, the officer sent her to the waiting room bathroom to be forgotten about. I drive all the way from work to find my wife in bathroom crying with a towel under her. The nurses told us "no one told us she was in there" they only saw her after i made a seen. Cop threaten to kick me out. They where able to save the baby and mamma. But when seconds count, dont count on this ER to care. Their QA did nothing to follow up with changes.

I'd like to thank the Bay Area ED staff for their big hearts, prompt attention, and great attitudes. Our first visit occurred last week, Jackie and Marco made our visit feel like we were a priority and met our needs. We returned again today and Jackie once again was just amazing. The ED was full but we received the attention that was needed. Haley also did a great job meeting our needs today. Thank you!

They saved my life!!! I was really sick with pneumonia. They told my mom I might not make it. I was in ICU on a ventilator for 3 months. Had to do physical therapy to learn to walk again. EVERY time my family has been there EVERY staff member has been professional, polite, and caring. The wait time is reasonable. Great quality care! Thank you!!!

My significant other came to the ER because he was...

My significant other came to the ER because he was having slurred speech, lightheaded, headache, slight numbness, weakness. Some symptoms of a stroke or TIA. I drove from out of town (3 hour drive) and when I arrived they had not done a CT scan. The nurse was busy with another patient and I understand so I asked the charge nurse for information. Upon asking the charge nurse what was going on she could not tell me. She then checked the computer and said we were waiting for blood results and the CT. However, the CT was never done. The emergency room was busy which I understand but it took 3 hours for it get done. The CT was only done because I went to talk to the charge nurse. It's been 5 hours and I'm currently waiting on the results; I have not been updated. Waiting is an expectation, as it is an emergency room. I understand they are trying to prioritize between patients who are more critical but three hours to do CT scan is unacceptable. He still had the C-collar for THREE hours. The worst part of this was the charge nurse and the doctor and some other person that works there were talking about my significant other and they were laughing at him at the nursing station. When they noticed I was looking they tried to play it off. I've never felt so disrespected. This unprofessional conduct is what disappoints me the most. Because despite trying my best to understand that they are busy and that my significant other is not receiving quality care. I still have to witness health care "professionals" laugh at him in his most vulnerable moment. I would most definitely NOT recommend this hospital. (The only reason I put one star is because it wouldn't allow me to post if no star is pressed. I give it a zero).

I was treated terribly in the emergency room at Co...

I was treated terribly in the emergency room at Corpus Christi Medical Center Bay Area. I was a COVID positive patient and my doctor sent me to the ER due to low oxygen levels and high blood pressure and an elevated heart rate. The person at the check-in window, as well as the triage and attending nurses, made it very clear I was not wanted there. I was at the ER for over 6 hours, feeling pretty miserable, and they would not give me a blanket or pillow. They said this was too risky with COVID patients. At one point, I became light headed and nauseous and I told the nurse this and she just said okay, what would you like me to do and then ignored me. It turned out my blood pressure had suddenly dropped to 90/60. The attending doctor was nice enough but stood outside of my room and yelled in to me to speak because otherwise they said they have to change uniforms if they enter. This was okay and I understood, though it made communication a little iffy. But, when I received my medical records from the visit he documented an entire physical exam, with details, that never happened. It turned out after all this that I had pneumonia, so they gave me medication and sent me home.

I m not one to write bad reviews, but I found this whole experience to be really sad and I m hoping my feedback might help someone realize what they re doing and will prompt them to have a little compassion for their sick patients and to treat them with at least basic kindness. I sympathize that being a nurse is tough, especially during a pandemic, and I appreciate them being there in the front lines. However, no one deserves to be treated like that. I m personally not overly sensitive, but the thought of my elderly mother or anyone I care about being treated like this in a time of need is very upsetting.

This place is no good stay away. The staff have no care in the world for my well being. I went in because I was nauseas and with fever. I was diagnosed with flu. Other hospitals would perform an injection or pill and get done with it. However, this place prescribed me 300.00 medecine in which I didn't buy. It's a business for them all the way to the prescriptions. I will never go back.

I went for a Stress Test and ended up completely STRESSED!!!
I arrived early as they requested and was hooked up to the stress machine, all good. Then I sat there for 35 minutes, in a cold room with no shirt, before deciding enough was enough. I think it was Dr Win or something similar. Doctors need to have a little respect for people's time. I was on time and coffee free and starving hungry as they require and then the Doctor can't be bothered to come see me. I'm mad as Hell and will be looking for a new facility. We have choices for healthcare and it's about time you medical staff realized that.

Worst experience ever took my granny because she was coughing up blood was taking through the side door was sat down on a chair nurse asked why she was here so we told her doctor came up and asked why she was here so we told him doctor said see you when your in a room was taken back to lobby next thing was taken to x-ray and back to lobby taken to ekg and back to lobby taken for blood work right behind door lol and back to lobby mind you this is a 96 year old lady so after all the test and still waiting in the lobby four hours later a nurse calls my granny s name so we walk to desk she said here is your Paperwork need you to sign her the paperwork had two scripts attached no clue what for I guess this is the new lazy way things are done now no clue what was wrong with due to us being told nothing. so I put my granny in the car and left just to find out one turn from our home that they never removed the needle from her arm so I drove back my luck the same nurse came out to the car and removed the needle and went back inside I came around the car and got back in the car just to see the blood gushing out because my granny is on a blood thinner I went back inside to tell the nurse and I ran back to car to stop the bleeding with my shirt and here comes nurse to tell my I granny I told you to put pressure on it mind you she has Dementia.Called to complain was told someone would call me never got that phone call and I have pictures to show what I am saying is true. we will never go there again . thought I would share so no one goes through what we did . Giving a one star because the people that did the EKG/X-Ray/Ultrasound/Blood work were so wonderful I can t stress that enough this people were there because they love what they do but the rest I felt were there for a paycheck.

TERRIBLE! I regret not suing them. My son will have a permanent scar on his face for the rest of his life because of the carelessness of the staff here. I gave birth to my son here and it was so traumatizing it made me consider never having more children, or moving to a different city to have them. Firstly, the Lamaze class was a joke! The teacher would send us all home if we didn't know the answers to her questions (we were there to learn, of course we didn't know!) so we didn't get what we paid for... she was also VERY rude and VERY unprofessional. Secondly, I was there for a check up, three months before my son was due, and they told me that I needed to go into labor. I wasn't even fully dilated or even close to it! I told them that I wanted everything to be natural. What did they do? They put me in a wheelchair, wheeled me to a room, and popped my water! I had NO pains the entire pregnancy until they popped my water. I was in so much pain and the nurse refused to give me pain medicine- she told me that I needed to feel the pain so that I wouldn't have "more babies because I was too young". (I was 20 at the time, and married). My mother was there and was filming this, and we have it all on tape! They were extremely rude to me, extremely unprofessional, and uncaring. It was a nightmare. They finally gave me my epidural, but turned it up so high that I completely lost all feeling in my lower body! They told me that they had to turn it off and I felt everything MUCH WORSE after that with no pain killers. After I had my son, they took him away because my blood pressure was so high (from the stress and shock) my body was convulsing. They woke me up hours later to tell me, "don't worry, we've been feeding your baby for you." I was angry because I wanted to breast feed and I did not want him having formula! I told them this several times, and I also told them I needed help breast feeding (even though I had read a million articles on it, I still wanted to make sure I was doing it right) and NO ONE helped me!!!!! They just kept feeding him formula! ALSO, after I had him, I had given them (prior to giving birth) a pair of hand covers for his circumcision (my husbands idea). They came back and told me that he scratched his face during the procedure and it would heal. HE STILL HAS A PERMANENT, DEEP, SCAR THERE (he is now 13 years old)!!!! ALSO, after I had him, I needed to eat and shower- but apparently that's not a concern at this hospital. I was told that I had to wait for a nurse to remove my IV before I could go to the shower. So I waited... and waited... I ordered food in the meantime and I waited and waited... almost four hours later they brought me a soggy GROSS salad. I was about to pass out and had to pay someone to go and get me some real food. But I still waited for the nurse to take out my IV and come and help me with breast feeding (my son was still away from me, I BARELY saw him the two plus days I was at the hospital). They didn't take out the IV until LATE that night. I had to wait almost two days to shower!!!!!! ALSO after I had him, when they let me hold him (for a very short amount of time) they were letting random people in my room! I told them that I didn't want anyone but close family in the room but random people were coming in and taking photos (a pastor I don't even know! some extended family who I hardly know, and that horrible Lamaze teacher and her assistant). The Lamaze "teacher" and her assistant asked me "how it went" and I told them it was horrible. She then lifted up my "diaper" that they make you wear, and checked it (so weird!) and then said something under her breath about me being a bad parent because I didn't "love it". ALSO, after the fact, when I was finally able to come to my senses and realize that it wasn't just a terrible nightmare :( I called the hospital to complain. I kept getting transferred and hung up on, and laughed at! The name of the manager on the labor floor was Sheree and she was extremely unprofessional and rude! WORST HOSPITAL!!!!!

Worst post partum nurses! My son went back to the baby room and came back with a bruise on his arm! Maybe 2 nurses were nice and helpful while the rest were rude and terrible! The only good thing about that place was Dr. Noreiga..that's the only reason I'm going there with my second baby. Rude staff!

This is to add to Joseph Parker comment. I witness the ER mistreating my mom. When I went to the room to see her. There was wrappers and gloves all over the floor. Like they didn't care. It was dirty in there so i cleaned up the room. Then im trying to get a nurse into the room and no one wanted to help. They said "just hit the nurse button" while they all continued to just sit there. I realized the nurse button is hung over the back wall behind my mom laying there with a neck brace on. Where she would not be able to use it to call for assistance. Anyways I would hit the nurse button and no one would come in to check so I was having to go out there to get assistance. By far the worse experience we've had to deal with.

Had a planned cesarean in June of 2015. That went ...

Had a planned cesarean in June of 2015. That went very well. Had the worst experience with the post partum nurses & nursery nurses. I was treated so badly that I had nightmares about this place for months afterwards. A night nurse named Sylvia had me sit up at the foot of the bed to dangle my legs over the edge. She told me she would be back in 10 minutes. 50 minutes later I started trying to work myself back into a lying position. I could not reach the call button. So painful! I do not know why I was treated so poorly. Had such a terrible time nursing my 10lb baby who was screaming from hunger. I must have sat with her in our hot room, where the thermostat was broken, for hours trying to nurse. When I finally relented to having her taken to the nursery so I could rest, the nursery nurse calls me up to ask me if I had done drugs during my pregnancy! Which I never had!! Don't they test the meconium for just that! Bc my baby was crying so loudly (from hunger) & was sweating on her head. I researched that & found that newborns can only sweat on their heads & hands. I didn't sleep. I cried the whole night. I asked for my baby to be returned to me & was told by one nurse that I could try feeding her through a hanging bottle & tube through a nipple shield. When I asked for it, a different nurse told me no, that it was too much of a mess & such a hassle! Hours more with a screaming hungry baby & bloody nipples with me shaking in angst. Finally a nicer nurse brought me the hanging bottle. She ate 3 oz in under 3 minutes! In the morning a case worker came to my room. I was humiliated & devastated. I asked to be dismissed & was told that I had 15 min to make it to the dismissal class. So I painfully limped to the class. I could barely walk & my ankles were HUGE & painful. Then when it was time to go home I had to ask for a wheel chair & got the biggest eye roll & sigh I've ever seen! I could barely walk! Nevertheless carry my baby and all my things safely outside.
Also, nobody checked on our carseat installation like I was told would happen in the many, many birthing classes I took at THIS hospital.
I shared all this with you so you can make a better decision & go elsewhere for your babies birth. They ruined what should have been the most beautiful experience of my life! And I can never, ever get that back.
The only positive thing I can say about this hell hole is that food was very good.

When your loved one is taken to ER and you live in...

When your loved one is taken to ER and you live in another state - as a mom you are worried sick. My son was in hospital last weekend (another hospital) my interaction with them was AWFUL. I m in healthcare but not a nurse and your stomach would turn with the lack of knowledge. So when he was discharged (still having problems and not better) I asked my friends to take my son to a different hospital. Well..... looks like the quality of care is about the same at this one. My first call to nurses station I was placed on hold for 10 min before I just hung up and called back. My next attempt was not much better. I was told the only nurse who could help me was busy and I needed to call back. I ve read your reviews and the standard response is to call a number and discuss the situation. You don t need to waste your breathe. I suggest you don t reply. My suggestion is you visit a Minnesota hospital administration department and see how healthcare SHOULD be. How nurses should speak on the phone with worried family. Because clearly this is why your ratings are a 2. Shame on the leaders of this hospital!!

I wish I could give the emergency room zero stars! Gave my husband no bandages for open wounds on his ear on his head and on his arms. They left the EKG stickers on him. He could not bear any weight on his arm or shoulder, but because they found no broken bones they sent him on his way with no sling and no instructions as to what to do after his accident. The pain meds they gave him made him sick and the nurse never came back to give him any nausea medicine or any other pain medicine. We will never go back again

Called. No answer. I go in, and there are nothing but trash people in the lobby. The alternate place to wait is right outside the door with the exhaust from a running ambulance in your face. I'll just stay sick for another day and wait it out. Not to mention nearly every nurse I saw was obese.

My mother went to the ER at Bay Area on a Thursday...

My mother went to the ER at Bay Area on a Thursday in severe pain. The ER staff was good with her. She then went to ICU and we were told it was because no other beds were available (later we found out it was actually because she was septic - we were lied to). The ICU staff was good with her. She was then transferred to a regular room where all but one nurse (named Karrie) were totally awful. The staff repeatedly lied to us as the family. They did not keep us informed. They admitted to not doing their job. I asked one nurse if something was written in my mom's chart and the nurse said "I don't know I only know what I was told in report that is why I am asking you". Then the nurse asked me to stay the night so that they didn't have to have someone come and sit with my mother all night. We were told my mother had an infection (no body ever told us she was septic and could loose her life). We were told her ct scan appeared clear. My mother had several stones and a blockage in her bile duct. We were initially told they had tried to contact my mother's GI specialist in San Antonio but he would not return their calls. Then on the following Wed. we were told they had spoken with him and he had refused her as a patient because he had never seen her before (this convo happened 3 days prior to us being told) The following day I got on the phone to her specialst's office who informed me he was in Peru and they put me in touch with one of his partners. Nobody had ever gotten ahold of her GI specialist due to him being in Peru. Yet another lie. My mother's treatment was postponed more than it should have. We were lied to. My mother was treated very poorly and with no respect what so ever. My mother was in severe pain and taking her medicine as docs had prescribed it yet nurses felt the need to lecture her about how she was taking it. This was an awful experience. Had I not got involved my mother's condition would have gotten even worse and Bay Area staff did not care. Don't get me wrong, Karrie was amazing and should be commended but everyone else should be looking for other jobs. The bed side manner was awful. They didn't do their jobs. I believe my mother would be better by now had they just done their jobs correctly and cared. I will never take anyone in my family to Bay Area again after this experience. I am also going to be filing official complaints and doing everything in my power to ensure this happens to no one else. You don't treat people this way. Especially not when you are in the medical profession and swear an oath to help others. They made my mother worse. The delay and lack of information and lies could have cost my mother her life. This is the worse place to have a loved one when they are sick.

What terrible service. Went to the ER as I was having infection symptoms from a procedure I had done back home last week. I had received lab orders faxed from my clinic back home. Went to this ER, as I had sat for over 3 hours at a different area hospital the day before without getting helped. At the Bay area ER, I was seen by a trioge nurse within 5 minutes and lab work was completed shortly after, so I was excited to finally be getting somewhere. However, after those things were completed I was told to go back out in the waiting room to wait to see the doctor. My husband and I waited 4.5 hours and no one was getting called back to see a doctor! When I went up to ask at about the 3.5 hour mark, the receptionist said there are 2 people in front of me. I waited more, but noticed the 2 people in front of me weren't getting called back either! Those people said they had been there since 8am that morning and it was now 3:30pm, so I went back up to the counter, asked for my lab results and left. So after paying my $100 ER fee, I left there with lab results that they refused to fax back to my clinic like the order stated and no help with my situation. To get help you would have to sit there for days to see a doctor. We were hungry as breakfast and lunch had long passed so we needed to leave. This would not happen back home, so I am NOT IMPRESSED with their quality of care! Stay away unless you want to spend days sitting in the ER waiting room.

I was admitted to the hospital at Bay Area because their sister hospital Dr Regional staff physician refused to admit because "he was not qualified to handle a patient with my complications". The admission went OK and the admitting physician seemed to be quite qualified. Then problems began no allergy band despite documented multiple medication allergies; reminders didn't help. No seizure precautions despite documented seizure history. Very little pain control despite the pain of pyelonephritis and sepsis. I was told because of the serious nature of my illness it was possible I could CODE and a heart monitor was placed. Blood cultures confirmed sepsis. 72 hours later I was told I could be discharged; despite still having fever and abnormal laboratory tests. I did go home and since I do utilize IV therapy at home it was apparent they were not going to provide any care beyond what I could do. It was another 48 hours before I was fever free and laboratory studies returned to acceptable within a week. I have had good experiences in the past with this facility, however, the standards have fallen to a dangerous level.

I m here right now with my wife and she is diabetic and dealing with symptoms of a possible DKA or something else. She s been in pain for hours and they took her in a wheelchair and left her in a hall. She s been there for hours. Very unprofessional and seems like some of these nurses are lazy or uncoordinated. She s heard nurses ask questions like, who is this? Or where is this patient? Or this blood isn t labeled! We re never coming here again! I will recommend that no one comes to this hospital. This is a disgrace!

No. No. No. No. NO!!!!! Malpractice, at best. Criminal negligence, most likely!

I was taken to the ER by ambulance (Note: by AMBULANCE) with a head injury, subsequently identified as a serious TBI.

Apparently I was irritable... something that happens with head injuries and TBI. One of the most common signs, in fact.

....they wheeled me out to the parking lot and LEFT ME THERE!!!!!

A couple weeks later, when a little more with it, I called to register a complaint, with ZERO returned calls. They have also refused to take subsequent calls.

Close this place! Avoid at all costs! Go a bit further up the road to a different hospital!

I arrived at your ER on Tuesday 11/24 around 3 pm with my u7 year old mother in law. She was sent over from her doctor for some testing due to low blood pressure. We were promptly triaged and she had an EKG and bloodwork done immediately and then we sat there for 3 1/2 more hours only for them to ask for a urine test (which turned out to be the problem to start with) they forgot to take the test upon arrival. During this time several patients arrived with COVID 19 symptoms and were sat in the small waiting room with us. The only way we got any attention was when I asked for her IV port to be removed so we could leave. After determining that she had a UTI we left at 7:30 pm.
Had the team stayed on task we would have been out of there in an hour and a half easily. Instead we were left to sit there being exposed to a deadly virus.
I appreciate all health care workers and what they do but this was an inexcusable act.

My family member has an appointment at 3pm. I picked him/er from school. My family member called the doctors office to let them know we where runnng late. And the staff then said "your appointment was at 2:30pm, your going to have to reschedule your appointment. "
I was told of this situation. I then spoke with a staff member over the phone. Explained that when there system phoned yesterday to remind us of the appointment, the automated system says appointment is at 3pm. Come ten to fifteen minutes early.
Hence , this is why my family member called the clinic to let them know we where running a little late. And we would like to be seen today.
So, long story short...... The staff at this clinic was argumentative with me the parent. Talking over me as I was explaining the entire situation. Common courtesy let the person you are speaking to talk without interrupting or talking over them. No good customer service at all. Especially for a new patient. They displayed very poor verbal and reasoning skills. Not very friendly.

I went to the Emergency room vomiting from passing out and hitting my head on the floor. They hooked me up to an IV for a few hours and I never saw a doctor. They did not check my head with an MRI or anything else. While I continued to vomit they never did anything to stop the vomiting. They actually came in with my discharge papers and had to wait for me to sign the papers because I was vomiting. They sent me home the same way I showed up. I hate this hospital. I've had nothing but terrible service at all the hospital emergency rooms around here. I have suffered from a cancer diagnosis so I've tried all the hospitals being sick from treatments and I have yet to find one that does a good job.

I was in labor for 25 1/2 hours but they did there very best to make sure it was as bearable as it could be for me!

ER staff was friendly and caring, except for the old lady Emily in the front, she was rude to every single patient that walked in. If I only dealt with her, I'd give the hospital a 1 star. But thanks to the other ER staff who made my experience not so painful, I give them a 5. ER, if you want to get more great reviews, replace Emily. To me, the first person who you see when you walk in to a business or clinic or any case, is the one that represents the whole place. They are the first impression. She was a horrible first impression, if I wasn't in so much pain I would have walked out and gone else where. My nurse April was wonderful and so was Justin and Brittany the PA. Jose that does MRI's is so friendly!

Having a baby is supposed to be a special experien...

Having a baby is supposed to be a special experience. I can say honestly say it was not special at all! There were some nurses that were GREAT but of course since they were over staffed the great L & D nurse we did have was sent home and we were stuck with a not so great L & D nurse. She was short and rude. The night shift post partum nurses were friendly. The Day shift post partum nurses would roll their eyes when coming in the room. After calling the nursery for an extra blanket for the baby-their response was well there should be extras in the rolling cart , after we checked and told them no there wasn t one it took over an hour to bring the baby a blanket. Which didn t make sense because there was door from the nursery right to the post partum unit. After reporting to the nurse of light headedness and nausea-the nurse handed the patient an emesis bag and said don t close your eyes and fall forward and walked out of the bathroom leaving the patient alone on the commode. What kind of care is that. I am an RN myself and would never leave a patient who just had a baby in the bathroom alone after the patient just said they were feeling light headed!! The waiting room was dirty, and the bathroom in the waiting room was just disgusting. A horrible experience that is supposed to be an special moment in one s life.

I waited with my wife for over 3.5 hours in the ER and she never even got to see a triage nurse. She was in a bad car accident with excruciating pain and couldn't walk very well at all. On top of that her pain level was severe. Absolutely disgusted by the triage nurse on duty this evening. Extremely unprofessional and very very rude. From the male triage nurse on shift I gathered that if I was a different skin color other than white he would have had no issues getting us in to be seen immediately. He proved that to be true within 45 minutes of waiting. I cannot believe the deplorable treatment we received from your ER staff.

Went in for an induction on 11/2 and was there until 11/4. Everyone was nice and understanding and took care of me and my baby very well. They gave me the option on when I wanted to go home and I kinda wish I chose to be there one more day because (through no fault of there's) his numbers for jaundice had gone up some. Otherwise I believe this is a great place to go when needed.

The nurses were nice and caring but there was this one doctor (don t remember his name) but he kept pressuring me to have an abortion with my son at 3 months After I kept saying no, the doctor kept saying my son would come out with complications at the time I was 19 I guess he would think I d listen. Well I never went back to that hospital, my son is currently 3 years old and is healthy as ever. If I would have listen to that doctor I would have never had my son, and he s my everything.

I went to Corpus Christi Medical Center in extreme pain from kidney stone. I was greeted immediately and had very short wait to go into triage. They decided immediately in triage to put me in a room and start pain medication. The nurse that took care of me was fabulous. He was very informative, very calming and very efficient. I highly recommend this facility for emergency problems.

ER Treated my wife poorly, brought her lunch for dinner after sitting on a shelf for over 4 hours. The receipts are time stamped. I'm pretty sure that violates food handling measures. Letting alarms from equipment go on for 10 minutes and not even try to reset them after being asked to do so. The list goes on....

Review of BAH:

Review of BAH:
ER staff was professional and efficient when dealing with my Elderly father with Parkinson's disease. He was able to leave the ER for a room in about 4 hours.
On the floor the staff seemed friendly at introduction but very little was seen or heard from them after. Information on my fathers condition was hard to get and he wasn't keep clean (inconstinence wise). Soiled pads were removed from under him and left on the floor beside his bedbed (semiprivate room). Who does that!!!! Bathed or showered???? My father is not mobile. Hand/arm moments are very limited. His food trays were placed in the room and left to get cold unless family was present. Care for the patients wellbeing was lacking. Used nurse call button, voice response after a few minutes but no nurse for over an hour.
Would not recommend for anyone with limited abilities.

This was my first time having a procedure done at this hospital and everything went so smoothly from the time my surgery was scheduled to the minute I was helped out to my vehicle upon discharge. The staff and nurses at the hospital we re kind and helpful through the entire process. During my stay I feel like I was treated with the utmost respect and care. I am 100% happy with the care I was given. My nurse Debbie was the kindest gentlest and most respectful nurse I have ever had. I would like to thank everyone who aided in my care from the bottom of my heart for providing the best possible care and making me feel comfortable during my stay.

Always on top of what needed to be done, making sure we were all comfortable and well taken care of. Definitley recommend Bay Area Medical Center.

My stay was as great as could be. The staff was always pleasant, kept me informed, and let me know when I could expect them back in the room. I was always encouraged to call them if I needed anything, and never felt like I was bothering them. The only thing I was disappointed in was that I did not have a Eucharistic minister come in to allow me to receive Christ. I know at my last stay someone came around on Sunday asking if we would like to receive Communion.

My Husband passed away at this hospital, and the staff was a bit crude. It s VERY rude to tell someone HOW to grieve and to be Quiet doing so. Not to mention security was Rude and On a high Horse, and they never knew who I nor my husband was, even though he was clearly in ICU. My husband wasn t sick he died suddenly, how could anyone be told to be quiet when being sad. The thing is, I wasn t even loud, not even remotely, but I ve never heard good things about Bay Area, it was just the closest Hospital. I wish he could ve gone to Spohn South, but it is what it is. If I Die I ll wear a bracelet to take me to Spohn South, maybe the experience would ve been better.

The nursing care was wonderful----but---I will never stay there again. They had to change my room 3 times because the people were so awful I could not sleep. I threatened to take my pillow and blanket and sleep in the hall. The light bulb burned out in the bathroom room and did not have a light for 3 days. The entire Mexican family was in the room with the other patient and the men in that family were using my bathroom instead of the guest bathrooms and I had to leave the door to my bathroom open since there was no light. Extremely dangerous as well as embarrassing. Betty Sommers

I took my wife in for a D&C procedure today after ...

I took my wife in for a D&C procedure today after our miscarriage, in the Day Surgery Center. Everything was going as well as it could be for our situation. She was scheduled for the last surgery of the day. Right before she was about to receive her anesthesia. We overheard the nurses fighting about who was going to have to assist with her procedure. It was 6 o'clock and they all made it very clear they wanted to go home. 1 nurse stated, "I already did a D&C today". No one wanted to do it. Another said "It's easy you just go back there stick up there and clean it out". These comments were all said very loudly as we were right behind the curtain hearing every word. Adding insult to injury, they were all laughing. Some cheering that it was a easy procedure before they got to go home. As we are losing our child to miscarriage this what their staff was talking about. It broke our hearts and caused my wife to burst into tears. I stepped out and calmly said "Hey, we can hear everything you all are saying". God knows I wanted to say more. They became silent and sent the nurse who was trying to get help for the surgery to talk to us. I have never overheard a group of more desensitized miscreants in my life.
My sister is a OR RN, same job title these people hold so I understand their job very well. There are no excuses for the way they acted, whether we could hear them or not. My sister would never act as unprofessional as the members of this team. I will be doing everything I can to file grievances against the staff as there needs to be significant retraining. I have dates and times of their shifts. My wife is currently in surgery as I write this. I hope recovery goes better than preop.

I had my 4th baby on November 12th. It was my 2nd time giving birth at Bay Area and this was my best birth experience yet. My Nurse (Tracie) was AMAZING and I wish I d been able to have her through my entire stay. My postpartum stay was wonderful as well and all of my nurses were great as well as the janitorial staff.
