Great place, good seating with a pretty good veiw of the stage. Obviously the content of the shows change depending on what's being run.

Personally I've gone to see Foil Arms and Hog here along with Dylan Moran.

There's also a bar on the 2nd floor for before the show starts. Normally there's also an intermission, at which point people flock to the bar,

The only downside is that you have to use a plastic cup instead of a glass when you go back to the show. Even if you opt for a bottle you will usually be asked to pour it into a cup by a attendant/security.

However, I don't blame anyone as this policy is in place for safety reasons.

Good theatre in the heart of Cork city. We visited in the summer to see the Wizard of Oz. This place shows lots of different types of acts throughtout the year. The view from the seats are good but the seats themselves aren't very comfortable. Hence the 4 stars rather than 5.

Saw Aladdin the panto in January. Fantastic performance. The Opera House is well worth a visit. Call or go on line for their events brochure. Bar and food available and there are lots of pre and post show bars amd restaurants nearby.

Rigoletto was wonderful but the seating upstairs is deplorable. We were in row E. The rows are so narrow that almost everyone's knees were jammed tight against the seat in front, if they were lucky. The only options are to sit sideways with your head at a constant angle to look at the stage,(& you can't do that if someone is sitting next to you) or else to sit with a knee on either side of the seat in front......very uncomfortable for 2 hours! And believe me, everyone around us was complaining. If the only choice open to me for future shows was to sit upstairs, I would never go there again .

Visited opera house for music concert. Entrance hall is a little cramped but bar area fairly spacious could maybe use coat hooks under the bar or drinks shelf area . Acoustics are good. Seating is roomy but not great comfort. Staff helpful. You can validate parking ticket for Carroll's Quay . Costs 3 euro to park, can stay 6pm to 10am if required, 24 hr car park.

Went the see Divas show last night. It was mediocre at best. Orchestra was sloppy and sound was weak. But the ladies singing were incredible and really talented. The opera house is beautiful.

Went to see Annie with my granddaughter. It was a wonderful show only marred by a mother sitting behind us with two unruly children who kept kicking our seats and putting their feet up on the backs of ours all the time giving a running commentary and looking for sweets. It was a night performance and was quite long and there were many younger children who were perfectly well behaved and enthralled with a wonderful performance.

Great night, went to see The Legend of Luke Kelly. Staff were very helpful and polite. The bar staff were understaffed but still did their best. Will definitely be back again for another show.
