Lovely friendly staff great place to go,family friendly
Starting to look slightly dated, aside from this we had a fantastic night here we didn't stop laughing for the entire show. All the staff are very professional and friendly
Great place, good seating with a pretty good veiw of the stage. Obviously the content of the shows change depending on what's being run.
Personally I've gone to see Foil Arms and Hog here along with Dylan Moran.
There's also a bar on the 2nd floor for before the show starts. Normally there's also an intermission, at which point people flock to the bar,
The only downside is that you have to use a plastic cup instead of a glass when you go back to the show. Even if you opt for a bottle you will usually be asked to pour it into a cup by a attendant/security.
However, I don't blame anyone as this policy is in place for safety reasons.
I expected more from a place called Opera house, to tell the truth
Good location for live gigs, and central to everything in cork city
Excellent venue, reduced parking across the bridge for shows.
Great shows helpful staff easy parking near by
We we're at the Opera House last nite to see Brendan Grace he was fabulous
Seating was very poor and it seem like all the seats together would be a fire Hazzard, did enjoy the show
Loved the show the theatre was cleaned. And the bar was well staffed
Great place. Warm clean comfortable. Great venue. No bad seat in house.
Good theatre in the heart of Cork city. We visited in the summer to see the Wizard of Oz. This place shows lots of different types of acts throughtout the year. The view from the seats are good but the seats themselves aren't very comfortable. Hence the 4 stars rather than 5.
Saw Aladdin the panto in January. Fantastic performance. The Opera House is well worth a visit. Call or go on line for their events brochure. Bar and food available and there are lots of pre and post show bars amd restaurants nearby.
Some good acts , done security on the door for a while and I must say their customers are very pleasent , fun for the whole family!
It's always an entertaining, if over expensive venue
voucher 6 days out of date very good reason. I rang they said call in we sort it drove in especially but at booking office they then said couldn't be done.
Great facility with a fantastic panto....lovely bar and coffee shop....no parking
Went to see Derren Brown recently, wasn't disappointed in any regard
Fantastic panto this year. The best we seen yet. Peter Pan
This is a great theatre in a great location. Really accessible with parking close by
I think it's great atmosphere only thing it is very cramped sitting
Regular visitor. My kids love the panto and the summer performance. Nice fairly ok priced refreshments available. Ice cream roughly 2.80
Very nice place to spend an evening always top class entertainment.
Rigoletto was wonderful but the seating upstairs is deplorable. We were in row E. The rows are so narrow that almost everyone's knees were jammed tight against the seat in front, if they were lucky. The only options are to sit sideways with your head at a constant angle to look at the stage,(& you can't do that if someone is sitting next to you) or else to sit with a knee on either side of the seat in front......very uncomfortable for 2 hours! And believe me, everyone around us was complaining. If the only choice open to me for future shows was to sit upstairs, I would never go there again .
Visited opera house for music concert. Entrance hall is a little cramped but bar area fairly spacious could maybe use coat hooks under the bar or drinks shelf area . Acoustics are good. Seating is roomy but not great comfort. Staff helpful. You can validate parking ticket for Carroll's Quay . Costs 3 euro to park, can stay 6pm to 10am if required, 24 hr car park.
Small venue, saw marriage of figaro, lacked a performance but probably no room for one. Telepromptor was not workig so could not understand the show. Very uncomfortable sesting.
Very beautiful entrance! It has a bar on the 1st floor
When the show you like is in it is nice place for drinks or teas and coffee or a snack
One of my favourite places. Always a good show there
Saw the improv panto here recently. Great show and a lovely venue
The cork is such a fantastic venue to have a show tonight we went to Brendan Grace such an amazing show he put on.
Bar in very poor condition.the whole place badly needs a revamp
I have my birthday there its was fantastic food was wonderful staff were very very good
The stage is excellent but the seats are extremely uncomfortable
Great program at this time of year with entertainment to suit all tastes.
Went to see Tom Baxter but unfortunately it ended up being a quiet night, not many showed up Don't know what it's like with a full house, hence only the 3 stars
Although the concert in the building, the atmosphere was like a stadium. The whole room was having a lot of fun.
Seating a tight squeeze!!! but performance was excellent
Great atmosphere with very friendly and very informative staff. We can't wait to go back.
Went the see Divas show last night. It was mediocre at best. Orchestra was sloppy and sound was weak. But the ladies singing were incredible and really talented. The opera house is beautiful.
Went to see Annie with my granddaughter. It was a wonderful show only marred by a mother sitting behind us with two unruly children who kept kicking our seats and putting their feet up on the backs of ours all the time giving a running commentary and looking for sweets. It was a night performance and was quite long and there were many younger children who were perfectly well behaved and enthralled with a wonderful performance.
Great mid sized venue for live music, stand up or musicals
Fantastic panto ,been twice for christmas pantos and they are just great ,costumes ,music ,atmosphere ,brilliant .
All ways have great entertainment you can coffee and food
Super show Rhythm of The Dance.
Cork Opera House never fails to dazzle crowds. Love here. Great theatre. Comfort seating. Beautiful stage. Well priced tickets. Looking forward to Blood Brothers in August 2019. Incredible staff. Great Box Office and pre entry to show people so helpful. Cafe and shop. Down stairs. Bar upstairs. Pre order interval drinks soft drinks etc. Visit you shall love it be it dancing, drama. Always a good day or night out.
Great night, went to see The Legend of Luke Kelly. Staff were very helpful and polite. The bar staff were understaffed but still did their best. Will definitely be back again for another show.
This year's pantomime was outstanding. The whole family enjoyed it immensley.
