Pretty good opera house overall. Kinda hard to compare it to anything else to Ireland, as it's the only one. But well, it's functional and modern. Nice shows too, even if I'd love to see a more, well, opera oriented programme. There's a lot of stand up comedy, pantos and so on, I think it could do with more theatre plays and proper opera. Must be tough to sell though, I do understand the financial reasons...
Up in the rafters for a comedy show. It was great show but the seats were very hard and uncomfortable. Little to no leg room. The catering onsite looked decent however nothing for the gluten free theater goer
Well planned building. Nice views from different angles.
Great gig... Paul Brady is still amazing. Seating was excellent. My only crib is that the bar is open during performance and people disturbing other people to get in and out for drink a lot of the time. The bar should not be open in my opinion only before show and at interval. Consider this Cork Opera House!!
Great venue, really nice bar and restaurant are in the lobby. Really enjoyable time watching shows here.
A must see for people who are a fan of acting, theatre and performing arts. Its within the city and not too far away from patrick street. Try to catch a local show/ performance if you can. Its always worth the speculation.
Great venue and Queen show but spoilt by people in and out to the bar. Staff pleasant and friendly.
a mid-sized venue in Ireland's second city that's got the Jazz Fest and Sounds From A Safe Harbour, two of Ireland's best music festivals. the sound at the Opera House has always been, without any exaggeration, perfect and crystal clear. if there's a God of live music, this would be their church.
oh and yeah as a setting for theatre/comedy/etc it's great too
Warm place clean easy to get about, great place, family friendly,
Beautiful place, one of my favourite venues. Great shows
Great place to go to.Very comfortable seating and very helpful stay.
Good venue. Clean, tidy, well maintained. Good sound and good views of the stage. But loses a star as leg room is a bit tight for those of us over 6' 4" and the bar prices are steep.
Stood outside it, and thought wow, that's a nice building
24 hour car parking @ Carroll's quay just 3 min walk to opera house It's only 3 euro after 6 pmwhen you validate your ticket @ opera house .We went to see Rolling in the Showband Years it was superb as was the PT of Guinness.
I never knew I liked opera until I started coming to the Opera House. So far I've seen operas by Rodrigo y Gabriela, Reginald D Hunter, Tori Amos (didn't sing her Cornflake Girl aria - disappointing) and most recently, Foil, Arms and Hogg. I'm a convert to opera and will be attending frequently.
The cafe is good, if you're into organic produce, taste and flavour. Free quinoa for anyone who places their order in song.
This is a beautiful theater. The location is convenient. The libby is very comfortable. The staff is all very helpful. There are congressional ib the lobby which is very nice.
Went to see Jason Manford, he was absolutely brilliant we highly recommend you go see him. The opera house was an adequate venue. The seating is staggered so you can see better, the sound quality was good and the staff very helpful. The only problem was they don't take any debit or credit cards in either the coffee shop or sweet shop.
Nicey but pricey. Good menu but slow service - staff a bit disengaged when we were there.
Love the Opera House for the Christmas Pantomime every year
They performed a great production of The Wizard of Oz!!!
First time in venue. Great sound. Loved both concerts. Pity drink is allowed in theatre.
I eat in the cafe here whenever I'm in cork. The food is lovely
First time at a panto, went to see Peter Pan. The venue was class, created a great atmosphere and the staff were very friendly helping us find our seats etc. The kids loved it, highly recommended
Went to Peter pan panto with family. Brilliantly entertaining show
Great venue. Really efficient staff make the experience more pleasurable. Very diverse acts each year so well worth a visit!
Ugly building but puts on good shows. It's the cultural heart of Cork City. Wheelchair accessibilty? Fair.
Great evening @ Bagatelle. There's nothing like real Irish music
Great place to see a show band etc sound and seating spot on
Opera House is drab, old fashioned, small poky and very outdated for a fine city like Cork it's actually an embarrassment to the people of Cork. I think this fine Rebel city deserves better than this. Seats in the auditorium are crammed together and no centre isle access for emergencies. People of Cork and surrounds deserve better than this.
Artists that play there are brilliant no reflection on them at all. Cork needs an upgrade and deserves a better auditorium than this outdated Opera House it's not fit for purpose in this year of 2019. The powers that be need to get a grip.
Even tho I was there just for toilet, I'm sure it's nice
Great venue and sound for the concert was amazing....love the Cork Opera House!
Very well organised concert, we got great seats, everything ran smoothly thank God
My son celebrated his birthday going to see wizard of oz ..absolutely brilliant show great sound .set ..and actors ..however we sat in the upper circle row c don't book the first 3 seats on row c ..large metal rail obstructing the view to stage we had to look through it or over it and our view was affected and our necks hurt by end of the well worth seeing show .
Had a great time going to the mario rosenstock show.
A great family night of entertainment. Bring your ear plugs; scream levels awesome!
The family pantomines we've watched here are top notch...also food at interval is good. lovely to see them using compostable lids on their coffee. It may not be cheap but quality live entertainment isn't....especially with amount of people involved in a live production on such a scale!
Outstanding concert tonight. Linda Martin, Niamh Kavanagh, Paul Harrington Charlie Mc Gettigan and Paddy Cole. Eurovision magic
Brilliant night . Daniel was Brilliant as per usual .
Very central venue and good views from all seating areas
Went with my daughters to see the Wizard of oz fantastic the cast were brilliant it was on for 3hours .I can tell you it dint feel like3hours. Best show I've seen in a long time.
Staff are very helpful and friendly and they always have great shows.
Brilliant concert from Mary Black and her band last night in a great concert venue
there with my 2 kids and wife and found the whole experience enjoyable.
Always a great experience coming here. The Improv panto has been the highlight of the Christmas period!
The biggest theatre and concert hall in Cork. Staff is helpful and professional, and the selection of shows suits everyone's tastes. However it can be really expensive
