CopperView Medical Center Review

This place SUCKS. Absolutely terrible. Do not come here unless you are dying and even then, reconsider it. Most of their doctors, Jololene Allen for example, is one of the biggest dumb-f*cks I have ever crossed paths with. She is unbelievably rude and over-prescribes. Seriously. Do not come here.

Very unprofessionally run healthcare facility. Having been involved in healthcare consulting for 10+ years for both patient registration and billing offices I don't have a good thing to say about this organization. I will make sure that our family never attends any of their facilities again.

Dr. VILATE THUR is amazing. I've been seeing her for years now. I even moved 2 hours away and still continue to see her because she is that Amazing. She is very nice and makes you feel like your a friend and not just a patient. Thanks Vilate for all you do! -BreeAnna Nielson

We love Copperview Medical Center for our children. Dr. Hollingsworth and Dr. Tipton take the time to explain things to my husband and I and they connect with my children. They re both amazing! My oldest daughter at 18 months had a bad experience with a pediatrician that she didn t like at another clinic. She really liked Dr. Tipton immediately though. I love how she brings her experience as a mom to the table and helps calm anxious parents. Dr. Hollingsworth has taken care of our boys from the time of their birth. (They work closely with Riverton Hospital.) My husband is a physician and we love them both. Would definitely recommend them!!

I truly love Copperview Medical Center. Their staff is very friendly, professional and it's easy to get an appointment, even at the last minute. They are open 365 days a year! The doctors and nurses are caring and I feel like I'm not just a number, but a person with an illness or problem that they can help me with. Their location is easily accessible off of Bangerter Highway, too.

Haven't had a bad experience with copperview staff. But the company they use for their labs is ridiculously slow. Had to wait 7 days for a covid result which meant I missed an entire week of work just sitting and waiting for the negative result. I get charged if I miss an appt, but if I have to miss work for 7 days there is not even an apology. Otherwise i have had a pretty good overall experience.

The CNA's or medical assistance are not professional at all! They rarely do measurements right or anything. My doctor always does it again when she comes in! The never answer calls when you are calling about prescriptions which is so frustrating. The one and only thing that keeps me returning is my doctor.

If I would have submitted my review 6+ months ago it would have been 4 stars, and to be clear I really like the doctor for both my children and myself, they themselves are 5 stars.
My family wanted to change to a new family care practice we could all go to (infant, child, and adults), since this office was right down the street and had great hours I figured it was worth a try. My son (8) and myself had a great experience with no issues. My infant daughters went great until they called a couple days later and said we needed to come back in because they gave her the wrong immunization, iaI figured it's not huge deal since it wasn't anything harmful. Then they gave my husband a TB test, when he went to get the results they asked if the needed the negative results for his employer and when he said they didn't need it both the nurse and doctor asked my husband why they gave him the test to begin with, which he never requested. So those 2 things dripped it to 4 stars. The reason it is now 3 stars. On 3 different occasions in the last month I needed to reschedule an appointment, makenmake ,an appointment,or have a medication refilled. On all 3 occasions I spent 3+ hours over a 2-3 day period trying to get ahold of somebody or to even leave a message which never happened. On all 3 occasions I had to physical go into the location. I will continue to go to this office and will update my review of this office with hopefully a better review/opinion

I love this place. I have seen almost every doctor and they are all so great it s hard to pick just one. The front staff is friendly and the availability is great and fast! I m always able to find last minute appointments!

I have seen many doctors and PA's over the many years me and my family have been patients there. We keep coming back, not for a particular doctor, but because the office people know us and go out of their way to be helpful and answer my questions. Plus the hours and location are very convenient.

The office manager has a caustic personality (Misty?). Why a group of professionals would allow her to oversee the backend of their establishment is beyond me. The frontend staff is getting a little more personable, and the medical teams are very nice to work with. I have been using the clinic for the last decade or so, but will discontinue seeing them due to poor backend billing and repeated bad interaction with their billing group. FYI - I have NEVER had a dispute over bill payment which was the result of my negligence - every issue has fallen back on the clinic and took months for them over 6 months to resolve with insurance company. In every instance, it was mis-coded or mis-billed. That being said - the office manager constantly reminds me that they NEVER make mistakes - and is very snobby about even the suggestion that they did.

Dr. Hollingsworth is great. Takes time to listen and is great to work with.

Worthless! Waiting 2 days for a prior authorization so my little girl can get her ear infection medication. We call every hour, no one answers. Unprofessional and ridiculous.

Same as others with the phone problems. Been calling on and off for weeks...nothing. also told both my and other family members that our insurance was accepted then charged us anyways. When u get in they're nice though.

Dr. Johnson was so kind and attentive. I was seen by another physician else where and was sadly disappointed after being misdiagnosed and many other mishaps. I was nervous to be seen again. She took care of me right away and made sure I got the exact meds I needed right away. I would definitely recommend her.

Treatment was OK but don't come here if you don't like endless months of incorrect billing and insurance fights. Especially if you have Humana.

I came to this doctor as she was listed by Humana to be my primary care physician who had to re-authorize my families current treatment and prescriptions. Despite being list as my primary care physician they continued to bill insurance as a specialist and this had a higher co-pay. The amount wasn't as important as how dishonest the practice is of listing as a primary care doctor and then charging as a specialist.

I have had experience with both Doctor Tipton and Doctor Thur. Both are friendly, professional, competent and thorough. I feel comfortable that I am understood and treated well. I would recommend them to anyone.

We have gone to see Doctor Hollingsworth and he has been great for our new born. He listens and his MA Betsy is super great and understanding. They have an in house research team so you get opportunities to contribute to research and get great care. Good hours too.

We were very underwhelmed by our entire experience at CopperView. We visited after a pediatrician from this clinic checked on our newborn baby before we left the hospital. The doctor, Mary Tipton, was heavy handed with the sales pitch and repeatedly tried to convince us to visit this clinic for a followup visit. At our appointment in the clinic for a follow-up visit, we noticed the furniture in the lobby was close to the end of its useful life and the carpeting was stained. The employees were fast in taking us to a patient room, but we waited a while before a guy with jeans came in without introducing himself and started asking questions about why we were there. After another period of waiting, a woman came in to draw blood from our baby. While she was doing so, another woman walked in and started to help. Neither women introduced themselves or said what they were in the room for. When the PA eventually came in, he didn't introduce himself either or say why he was in the room, which I found terribly frustrating. This place provides free clinic service at private practice prices. I would implore you to go anywhere else before coming here.

This place is amazing, my doctor is awesome and the staff is on top of it. Better than every other office i have been to. This will be my permanent doctor's office!

Megan gygi is my boys pediatrician and we absolutely LOVE her. She is so kind and caring She always listens to my concerns and helps me find out what it could be. 10/10 would reccomend!

Haven't been able to make an appointment for 2 weeks. They won't even pick up the phone

What a terrible place. The PA knew less than an MA, they took over an hour to do routine tests like check your weight and heart rate and didn't know any correct medical codes. The only good thing about this place was that it was open on a saturday. Holy hell how is this place in operation!

We went in today to see why my bf was sick. Similar symptoms to the flu and covid. They just tested for covid which came back negative. The doctor didn't care and told us he doesn't need to be checked out for his other symptoms. Made an appointment to see what was up. Not a covid appointment. So basically don't know why he's sick. All he cared about was if he had covid. Forget about if he may be dying. Just go home basically. Now need to make another appointment with a better doctor. He's still really sick with no answers.

Went to Taylorsville instacare next night. Found out he has pneumonia. We could of taken care of this yesterday if the doctor cared. Not everyone has covid! Check other infections and care. Horrible medical service here at Copperview Medical Center.

Best doctors office ever! Would never choose anywhere else!

We have been coming here for years and frankly if we had the name of someone else we would go there.

We have suffered through misdiagnosis, long waiting times, and a total lack of ability to process paperwork to outside providers. Right now we can't even get through the phone system to reach anyone.

While some of the providers are great, others are snippy and rude.

My advice, look elsewhere for help.

I've been taking my kids here for years & we've really liked it. Vilate & Matt are awesome! My kids are very comfortable with them & they are really friendly & informative to us. Recently remodeled very nicely. The rooms are painted with all sorts of characters & things & my kids think they are the coolest! Friendly staff & a welcoming environment. Great clinic!

I would have to say that Copper View Medical Center is about the best Medical Clinic I have been to. It is very clean and modern inside, I am a tradesman so I watch for things that are in disrepair and Jerry rigged, witch Copper View is not. The staff working there are very professional and polite. They all seem to be up on the latest technologies and are very confident in what they do. The doctors clear down to the receptionists are very pleasant and easy to communicate with. I am 56 years old so I have had a little experience with clinics and hospitals. So far they have been spot on, on diagnosing all ailments with me and my family members.
Inclosing, Copper View Medical Center feels like your friendly neighborhood doctors office of old. Now if they would just do home visits that would be the icing on the cake. Maybe they do ? :)

This place is a complete JOKE! Alex the receptionist is the rudest, unprofessional person I have ever met! I will NOT be returning to this location again bc of her mistreatment today. She rolled her eyes and took her time checking me in to be rude. She repeated herself MULTIPLE times as loud as she could that my insurance wasn t going through bc SHE put down the wrong information. I truly believe she should be fired and I am extremely disappointed now.

Horrible horrible place! DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I went there recently for pink eye. To begin with the receptionist looked like she was having a horrible herpes outbreak. After a long wait we finally saw the Dr. I went in for my eye, he looked in my ear and mouth but not my eye! He mumbled so we couldn't understand anything he said. Then he prescribed me eye drops and sent me home with no paperwork on how to care for my infection. I went to get my prescription it was $84! The pharmacist told me they have prescription that is basically the same for $4 but I would have to get the Dr to change the prescription. I went in at 9 with my eye swollen shut and asked them to change the prescription. They took my number and said they would call me when it was done. I called at 10:30 and nothing had been done. Then I called back at 11:30 and still nothing had been done. Finally I threw a fit and the nurse changed it right away. The entire staff besides the final nurse I talked to was rude, unprofessional and unhelpful.

I've been going to CopperView Medical since I moved to west jordan 4 years ago and I absolutely love all the doctors and staff! A special thank you to Dr. Garcia for treating my kids and Dr. Gygi for helping my husband. They have also been nice and helpful, especially when we had financial questions

I have been coming to Copperview since I moved to the area about two years ago. The waiting room is spacious and clean, and has a dedicated area for young children if you need it. It is always clean, and the reception staff is very kind and courteous.

I have had several severe chronic illnesses for most of my life. Prior to coming here and seeing Kevin Cottle I always hated seeing doctors. Every other doctor I visited always seemed to treat every appointment and check up in a way that I would consider "transactional". That is to say that at other clinics or offices I always felt rushed in and out, with only the the most perfunctory attempt to solve my problem that day. I have never experienced that here.

I see Kevin Cottle FNP here. Kevin is simply an amazing provider and person. He always spends the time needed to not only help me with what I come in to see him for, but also takes extra time to explain everything in detail in a way that I can understand. He asks questions about my specific concern as well as inquires about other issues, and genuinely cares about my overall well being.

I strongly recommend this clinic, and Kevin in particular. It may sound like an exaggeration, but Kevin has changed the way I consider my own health, and my standards for quality care.

The service I received from Dr. Briana Johnson was OK. However she completely billed me wrong and I ended up paying way more than I should have. I went in to get a simple prescription and since she billed it as something else I could not get my insurance to cover it. I am so diasapointed in in the service I received it has been 3 months and both my insurance company and I have appealed the claim and the doctors office still won't give me my money back. I will never go back and I have never had such a bad experience about getting a simple prescription

Amazing office! Doctors are amazing and staff are wonderful!

Hollingsworth is the best doctor in the world. He always takes the time to explain everything. The wait is long sometimes but it's well worth it, if it means understanding why I'm there or what I should expect from a medication.

complete joke of a practice. except Dr Tipton. she is great. i have had it! we have waited 2 weeks for them to call us because we need an MRI scheduled. we have called them several times, only to be told that we just havent gotten to it yet. also, last year the one of the Dr's neglect led to my wife having chronic C Diff for 8 months. they need to be shut down. GO ANYWHERE ELSE

I really like how they're trying to keep everyone safe and no exposed with the coronavirus. Ya, you have to wait outside for a few minutes and with it getting colder it's a little tough, but I'd rather have that then going through the clinic and getting other people exposed.

I have been going to CMC since my child was born in 2005. I can almost always get an appointment same-day if necessary. I so appreciate that they are open 365 days a year - they understand that illness doesn t take a vacation day! Because of this, and their long hours, I ve only had to take my kid to urgent care ONCE in over 15 years, and that was only because it was after 9pm. Even when she sliced open her finger and needed 6 stitches, they got her in right away. I have had great experiences with all of the doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses and all other staff. I highly, highly recommend Copperview Medical Center.

very disrespectful and very rude. This was my first time and I will never go back again. I have never experienced such poor service before. And I usually do not ever complain. Especially right now since I work in the healthcare field and understand how crazy everything is right now. Very uncalled for. Don't waste your time or money.

I m experiencing some Covid symptoms and will need to be tested before I can return to work. I called and set up an appointment for 2:00pm same day. This was my first experience with copper view so they emailed me paperwork to fill out and instruction for my appointment. The email came from the Front desk and the signature on the email Alex.
Per the emails instructions I arrived 15 minutes early and waited in my car until they called me. At 2:20 I had not received a phone call so I called the front desk again. They told me they couldn t find my appointment in their system and would squeeze me in. I was told t wait in my car and they would call when they were ready. At 2:32 they called me back and said that my original appointment had been deleted and they could not squeeze me in until 7:00pm. I told her that I had been waiting in the parking lot for 45 minutes. She said that the provider was out to lunch and there is nothing we can do . I would not recommend anybody to get tested at this facility. They claim to have 15 minutes results for their test. If they can t properly schedule an appointment I highly doubt that their testing is reliable.

Made an appointment with a new doctor, who was not on the website so I couldn't even read about him/her to see if it would be a good fit. Then, I needed to cancel my appointment because someone near me tested positive for COVID so I now have to be quarantined. I have been trying to call them for 3 HOURS. The line is either "busy" or I get hung up on. I emailed the front desk to let them know from the email that they sent me paperwork and no response. I just want to cancel my appointment so I don't get charged but I can't do that if you don't have a good phone system.

This place is a joke. I met with a female doctor in the clinic on 10/15 for a UTI. I called 10/18 reporting a bad reaction to the medications I was was prescribed- thinking it was not mixing well because there were 4. Their triage team told me they didn t know if I could take ibuprofen with my meds and to call my pharmacist.... unfortunately my pharmacist was closed so I dealt with the migraine and nausea throughout the night. I called in today 10/19 to be seen because of how sick I felt. After being hung up on, I called again and was left on hold for 20 minutes. Then I called one last time and was told to be seen outside in a tent, odd but okay. I had to meet with a different doctor. I looked online through med prime and my visit was listed as possible COVID, so they didn t listen at all. I have never experienced such incompetence. Really unimpressed will not return.

Have been going to this clinic for a couple years now. I love the providers however the office staff and MAs are hit and miss with training and requirements. Most recent example; daughter needs refills of her Zoloft called to request a free month because of the virus, earthquakes, and I m an RN working overtime. Was told she needed an appt for all controlled substances. I politely corrected her that it was not. Was sent to triage line, left message including one from my NP who said to call in when we needed refills to save me a trip since my daughter is non verbal autistic and isn t a fan of the doc.
Get a notice from the pharmacy she has to be seen. Call to set up appt explain her np said we didn t need one, it s kinda crazy can we just get a month. She was very empathetic but then said I m sorry it s been three months and says she need to be seen for controlled substances. Again politely corrected her that Zoloft was an SSRI (at this point double checking in my brain with my ten plus years nursing experience) and she said well that s just what they tell us and I said I m fine coming coming in but asked who made the protocol and she said I don t know it s Utah law and I said, for Zoloft? At any rate, when you can get to your provider they re awesome but this was just one example from front office staff ive dealt with.

I've been going here over 15 years. I normally don't write reviews but the negative reviews were very surprising to me. Yes, you have some wait time, because it is a doctor's office that is very busy and so far every doctor I've seen here (which has been 4 or 5 over the years) will take a little extra time with you if you don't quite understand something, so if the wait time is a little longer than expected, it's because they're trying to give everyone the best care. You get in a lot faster if you make an appointment and show up on time for it, if you just walk in they will do their best to work you in but of course you will have some wait time (they'll usually tell you about how long the wait is, too).
I saw Mary Tipton when I was younger, she's such a great doctor that she's always booked out pretty far for the past couple of years so I've started seeing Vilate, who is amazing and puts you right at ease and explains everything thoroughly with no nonsense or beating around the bush. If I go in for an emergency, I've seen a couple of other doctors, all of whom were very competent as well and made sure I understood what was going on.
I go here for pretty much everything, occasionally I have to go to specialists outside of this practice but the specialists I go to are also competent. The staff at Copperview usually gives me a couple of options for where I can go for what I need, and explains the benefits of each one.
Overall, I find that Copperview has always treated me well and I will continue going here as long as I live in Utah.

Women-please avoid the male doctors or PAs. They are very unprofessional and cross the line when doing breast exams!!! And trying to discuss the issue with staff-ha! Good luck with that!!

My family and I are patients at Copperview and have had good experiences with their staff and the care they provide. However, we can only see specialists when we get a referral, and here's where we've run into a problem. The referral department is horrible. They either take way too long to get back to you, or they don't get back to you at all. We've had to wait on much needed care because of their inability to get back to us in a somewhat timely manner.

I had my daughter to see Dr. Roach last night after a soccer injury. I can not say enough good about her. Fantastic! Not only was she thorough in her work, but my 12 year old felt so comfortable. It is refreshing to have someone treat children so kind. We will definitely be back. Wonderful establishment with a friendly staff.

I started going to this clinic since 2006. Horrible!
I kept going there because it is two blocks away from home.
I've been there at lease 10times with my 3 children.
I think the front desk need an intensive customer service training.
It's been this way since I started going there and gets worse.
The billing is also horrible!
Sorry, they don't even deserve one star but I have to give them something.

I love this clinic! The staff is very friendly and helpful! It is very nice to be able to set up last minute appointments if need be!

Jololene Allan is an awesome APRN. I highly recommend her. She has always taken good care of me and my kids. I have never had a problem getting my prescriptions filled.

What an amazing experience I had here. I am not one who goes to the doctor much but had a little cold that just would not seem to get better. I had a few interactions while I was there and everything was amazing!! Misty is amazing, kind and helpful! I also was able to interact with Colette and Cara who were also fantastic. I saw Justin Peck, I couldn't be more pleased with my visit to CopperView. It was amazing. It is hard to get good employees, and I know it is hard to keep them as well. You have hit the spot with Misty, Cara, Colette, and Justin, do everything you can to keep them!!

These people do not know how to answer the phone. You would be better off coming in an talking to them. But the doctors here are pretty good. But they suck at answering the phone.

I have been coming to Copperview Medical for several years now and I am always pleased with my experience, from the front desk, to the MAs, to the physicians. All of the staff are helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Amy is actually my personal favorite to see because she takes great care of my family and I especially on the weekends when everywhere else is closed.

I just moved to the South Jordan area and have heard great things. My first appointment is tomorrow.. just a check up, but we'll just see how it goes

This place was an absolute nightmare. We walked in and they gave us an hour wait time, so they put us on their list while we ran home to drop some things off, we got back within the hour and had to wait still another hour to be seen. When we were finally taken back , the doctor who saw me was sooo rude. She looked at my ears and goes Well there is fluid in there, but until it s an infection there s nothing we can do . And sent me on my way. Telling me to take Sudafed and allergy medicine. I decided to get a second opinion from another instacare and they actually looked at me to find out I had a sinus infection. I would stay far from this place. Bad service !

I have been a patient at CopperView for more than 15 years and had the privilege of working there for 10 years. I am lucky enough to know quite a bit of staff from the patient perspective as well as an employee.
I love the ease of hours and holiday schedule, but I love that this staff treats you like family.
I am a patient of Vilate Thur and I adore her! She genuinely cares about her patients and gets to the heart of the matter. Matt is incredibly professional, knowledgeable and just a really nice person!
It is comforting to know that the staff cares about their patient s well being.
My daughter has seen Dr. Hollingsworth, Dr. Garcia, Dr. Tipton, Dr. Andrews and Megan Gygi and I can tell you they each had a hand in literally saving her life. I love CVMC and would and have recommended them to everyone I know.

We love Dr. Garcia for our son. This place has been so good to my family and I, that I changed my doctor to one here as well.

It's good that it is open on weekends. The care is good. The biggest complaint is the doctor's take forever to show up. You are looking at 30 minutes to 1 hour wait time in the room after the nurse takes initial vitals. This is extremely frustrating.

I can never get a hold of my doctor when I need something and the people at triage never seem like they want to help me. I won't be going back.

Vilate Thur has been Outstanding. Always going above and beyond for her Patient's . I have Also had Dr Andrew a few times. Unfortunately my kids have all took turns breaking their arms. Dr. Andrews did great putting the casts on and taking them off. They have show Love and care to our Family.
