Good coffee and friendly staff. You have to try their egg salad sandwich too!

My wife and I visited Phoenix over spring break this year, and swung by this place every morning for coffee. It was great, they included one free refill with their iced coffee. For the good coffee and great service, we would make sure to tip well with cash into their tip jar when getting a refill.
On the last day of our trip, right before our flight home, I was reviewing our expenses for the trip and noticed a discrepancy between some of our coffee receipts and bank charges. Apparently, even though we tipped in cash, and selected no tip on the machine during the credit card purchase we had been charged $2.00 extra for tip on at least 2 transactions.
Sure, it's only $4. But this is an incredibly dishonest business practice and I would have confronted the owner of the store about it if we were staying any longer in Phoenix.
Great coffee, great food, great people, great service. They even have drive through! This is a neighborhood gem. My favorites are the lavendar mocha and the Cubano- made with evaporated milk.
I really love this coffee shop! I am happy that they got a new branch which was near my place. It was already convenient for my part to buy my favorite coffee every morning and evening. Amazing interior! It was a nice experience for me for the first time. I will visit this place again and again for sure. A5 stars! Recommended!
Great friendly service & chill atmosphere. Good Tai ice tea and baked goods. Always nice to see Bill (the owner) working alongside his employees.
Great coffee amazing taste and food is awesome! Highly recommended!
Great spot of coffee. Can't wait to hit it up again next time I'm in town.
Fantastic. The lavender ice tea, one of my new favorites. The crew is great, always helpful.
Great little coffee shop for chatting with friends or getting some work done. Employees are very nice and prices are reasonable.
Easy walk from anywhere in the Melsrose district. Clean bathrooms. Coffee is fantastic. Like the energy here. Outside seating facing north available.
The most friendly, most tasty coffee, most convenient location. Most bestest!
This place is awesome, the staff is always friendly and the drinks amazing. During the semester it's a great spot to study, with large tables and wifi for patrons. I feel I should also mention there awesome food too. All around an amazing local coffee shop and a must try if you're in the area. They even have a drive through!
Love this place, wish there was one in Litchfield park
Homemade baked goods, local art, great coffee, drive thru!
A really fun place in downtown Phoenix hanging on to its originality and charm
I will be back with my coworkers. Prices are fair. Menu is like a place in Miami I enjoyed
Love this place. Super cool little place. Very friendly staff. AMAZING coffee.
Cool neighborhood vibe, repurposed from a automotive garage. Do a nice job and have some good eats as well.
amazing local coffee shop! friendly staff, great specials, amazing coffe/food! wonderful space to get work done in, free wifi when you need your computer! accepts cash/debit/credit.
Third place behind Silver Star Coffee and the winner Gold Star Coffee.
Great coffee place. If employees make a spoke great then they have won.
I like this place. It's a sweet little eccentric coffee shop, the kind with character and stuff everywhere to look at. The service is friendly and the coffee is great. There are filling food options and pastries. There is a little outdoor patio, but the inside is a little small so keep your party around 4 max during busy times of the day.
I don't go out for coffee to often but when I do I love copper star coffee the shop is nice small and quite close enough to my neighborhood that I can walk or bike there. If you have to drive there good luck the parking lot is also small so if I drive there I use the drive thur and go home the food, service from the staff and food is amazing and worth the 5 star review
Iced Americanos are my favorite, and Copper Star makes one of the best in PHX.
Best little neighborhood coffee and can't beat their bottomless ice tea!
Copper Star Coffee is the only place I have ever found a Lavender Mocha,
it gives you the energy you want from your coffee,
with a peaceful & mellow mind. Tired off feeling wired & easily agitated after your triple shot? Try Copper Star's:
Lavender Mocha
I PROMISE you'll be glad you did!!!!!!!!!
Super coffee
Super muffins
Best service, coffee, food and atmosphere!! Copper Star Coffee has Starbucks beat by a country mile and more!!
Its not ALL that, cute small unique coffee shop. Just not for me.
Coffee is really great here especially the Cubano. The food is also good I love the bacon they use in the BLT's and the staff are super friendly. Always a plus to be supporting a local business too.
I love this place. Great Java, trendy atmosphere, free music on Sundays. I will say the last time I was there, the flies indoors were unbearable. Fly strips, people, it's easy!!!
Lovely staff. Espresso is made perfectly. Fast service. And fresh baked blueberry muffins! I was in heaven. There is outdoor seating with lots of shade and a water feature. Highly recommend.
Good place. Chill. Dog friendly. The food is actually good.
Stopped by to do some work requiring WiFi - staff was really nice and the coffee was great.
This is my favorite coffee shop in town, has been for years! I particularly enjoy the triple shot vanilla latte, hot. Dog-friendly outside seating and very friendly baristas. I also like the food there... I've had their bagels and hummus plate... Yum!!!
Great spot. Love the friendly service every time I come in. Vanilla latte with avocado toast hits the spot and has become part of my weekend routine
True neighborhood coffee shop. Friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Coffee is solid but highlight is baked goods. Muffins are sublime. Dog friendly and a hangout for gay couples - only suggestion is to play different music. By far the best coffee shop in the area and a place to hang out and meet friendly people.
Very cool spot. Great service and wonderful coffee.
I live the muffins and the lavender mocha. People are friendly
This place is just the best. It doesn t get over crowded, everything is very fairly priced, the staff is kind, and there s plenty of work space. It s not a trendy little cafe without function to prey on millennials, it s an actual cafe and couldn t recommend this place more.
This place was pretty good coffee place. If you're looking for a low key place, or just trying to get away from the sell out coffee places, this is definitely a place to try. They had some unique flavor profiles for their drinks, but it worked. Speed of service was definitely there, and they even had a drive through there. All in all, and great little place, service up some good coffee and bread.
Although I am normally a big fan of Copper Star, I recently had a not so great experience here that has left me disappointed. Normally the service, staff, drinks, and food are incredible! However, a few weeks ago as I was drinking my beverage I noticed that there was a coin in the bottom of my drink. I was very grossed out and disgusted by this and promptly called the shop to let them know. The barista I spoke to was very kind and said he would pass on my number to the owner. 3-4 days later, still no contact from the owner. I called back to the cafe and another barista was incredibly kind on the phone and told me she would pass on my message to the owner to contact me since I had been waiting. It has been 2 weeks since my experience and I have yet to hear from anyone. I am unfortunately very disappointed in how this was handled by the owner and upper management. Normally I do not take the time to write negative reviews, but I was left saddened by this experience and would have liked the owner to have contact me after I reached out about my experience. Although accidents happen, I really just wanted some customer service to discuss this issue and I am left disappointed and discouraged. Thank you to the two baristas I spoke to who gave me the utmost respect and kindness and tried resolving my issue, just disappointed overall I could not get any follow up.
I only get black coffee when I go to coffee shops, so as long as its decent I am more concerned about the service and the vibe. This place sets the bar pretty high in both of those areas ( although the coffee was pretty great too). I didn't eat anything but I really enjoyed hanging out for a little bit and sipping on my coffee.
Try the Cubano. My favorite (non-alcoholic) beverage in Phoenix.
We have lot of meeting there for business it gets full fast, it's to bad they don't have heaters outside, we would go more times a week
the ppl were VERY friendly, and the atmosphere was interesting... I love the old/rustic look of everything. the oooonly thing I wasn't to find of was the pulled pork sandwich. it was A LOT smaller than I was expecting and it fell apart the second I picked it up. other than that, the drinks, the staff, and the feel of it all was great
These guys know their coffee. If you're not a frequent coffee drinker the baristas will help you decide on a good beverage for you. Their red eyes and the Americanos are really good.
Drive up coffee for the win! They also have rewards cards, open atmosphere, snacks, and more! I got a smoothy last time I was here. At night they sometimes open up the side doors and you can enjoy the breeze.
Had a brownie and a bottled coke. The brownie was huge! Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere
Awesome coffee and atmosphere. Employees are great and nice to talk with.
This is hands down the BEST COFFEE SHOP IN PHOENIX! Great service, the most amazing coffee, and delicious food! Been coming here for years, not sure why it took me so long to review!
Cute little spot in a vibrant neighborhood. I was surprised at the amount of people out in about on a Saturday morning. I like the retro feel. The cash register is an old school register from the 50s, but has an iPad fitted on it for easier ordering. The coffee was good, but not the best hence the missing star.
I love this place! The food and coffee are legit. If Bill is there, he makes sure things go smoothly, or else he will make it right. (I order the same 3 things every time, and one of them is consistently forgotten.) But, the food/coffee is always worth the wait.
Consistently good, their sign about refills contradicts the fact you can't get a chai refill.
One of the best customer service I've experienced in a coffeehouse in my life, They even remember your name its amazing service, amazing culture amazing coffee! wish they expand or grow more..amazing place overall!
Fun locally owned coffee shop that used to be an old time gas station. You can pull up as if you used to get gas, but they will come and take your order. Good food, decent coffee, and a great atmosphere.
Impossible to be disappointed by their food and drinks... Come here at least once a week
Absolutely love this place. Best coffee in Phoenix.
Just discovered this spot. I dislike coffee, my wife drags me here to get a cup for her. She orders me a cubano and says trust her . What I tasted was the best cup of coffee I ve ever had in my life. Not too bitter, not too sweet I went down smooth and I wanted more. If you have friends from out of town that want to try a good cup of coffee. Bring them here so you look like a cool local.
Met Bill and the Copper Star team this morning on our first visit. Outstanding coffee and fantastic gluten free baked options! Our GF blueberry muffin was terrific. Grateful they oat milk too! The bagels are off the chain! The best part, however, was the friendliness of Bill and his team. Five star experience We will be back soon!
For my money there is no better coffee shop anywhere in the valley. Their espresso has a warm sweet caramel overtone to it that is quite exceptional. The baked goods are mostly simple fare: coffee cake, muffins, scones and such. I m more into your snooty French pastry like eclairs, macarons, etc, so I would probably have never tried Copper Star s baked goods. Except for on your first visit, they give you a free pastry. How nice is that? So I ended up discovering that their baked goods are all really excellent. Nothing I ve ever gotten has been less that great. Also the atmosphere is really pleasant and happy, full of positive energy. My BF and I also met the owner recently, and he was incredibly nice, we chatted with him for over an hour and he gave us a free sandwich. It s obvious how passionate he is about his work.
Nice service...they need to keep up the property though. Clean up your trash.. Seriously.
Great little coffee shop, yummy bakery goodies. Rating is 5 of 5 but I have no knowledge of their prices as my coffee was paid for before my arrival. What I did experience is what a quintessential coffee house should be.
Great place, friendly staff, coffee is great and so are the bagels. They let me try some of their other baked goods since I was visiting from out of state.
Food is great, the place is small and the counter is claustrophobic, especially when you have to wait an extraordinarily long time for your order. 10 minutes for a mocha, 20 mins for a sandwich, 20 mins for a bagel...
It was displaying open on Christmas Day. But we were disappointed to see the coffee shop being closed.
Great locally family owned cafe in central corridor in Phoenix'a Melrose district. All pastries are delicious and made in the morning in the same day. The Cubano has become my wife's favorite morning drink of all time.
Good, unique coffees. Good cookies. Relaxed atmosphere.
This is by far my favorite coffee shop. Fun, artsy sort of vibe and the staff is always chipper. There are both inside and outside places to sit and enjoy your brew. Lgbt friendly and absolutely the best coffee in town!!!!
Delicious! The breakfast Bagel with ham and bacon is godlike.
