Staff is not too friendly and pretty unwelcoming altogether. The BLT was actually really delicious but i honestly couldn t get out of there fast enough.

1st time here and yup I'll be coming back. I had the tuxedo mocha and it was delicious! We walked in and were help by some super nice awesome people.
This is the best coffee shop in Phoenix. Hands down! I've been going here for a lot of years now and thats because I'm always greeted with a genuine smile and nice conversation with the staff and owner. You want feel intimidated by trendy weirdos instead you will feel at home surrounded by lots of great local art and peeps. Literally all types of people go here and I've met a lot of friends here too. Also very dog friendly!
So glad I found this little gem! Would ve have stayed for a long while on the shady patio if I didn t have to run!
This place is great, good coffee, good crowd, comfortable and hip environment
Good coffee. Good service. And who still has molasses cookies!?!?!
Awesome little spot. Hard to find parking. Apparently there's a drive thru but I couldn't find it, haha. The food was so fresh. Omg, I had an egg and cheese bagel and it was incredible, I told all my friends about it. The house chai was pretty good, a little spicy for me. I'll definitely be back!
Nice place to have a coffee and check your email. Not crowded during most of the day.
Parking can be tricky, but it's well worth the trip. Copper Star has a great selection of really tasty beverages, including some awesome teas. I'm a major fan of their house chai blend, and love the lavender mocha as well. The decor and music make for a cool place to enjoy your drink, as well. Haven't tried the food, yet, but the beverages alone are worth a trip or ten).
Love the style and the coffee and the people work there.
I challenge you to come here 3 or more times and not end up feeling like family. An incredible amount of staff behind the counter all working together like clockwork. Love this place, seriously great coffee, unpretentious and comfortable.
Coffee was very average. Great atmosphere and great baked goods! We loved the atmosphere
Just passing through Phoenix, but had to stop here twice. Coffee and service were well above par
Neat coffee shop with good salad and smoothies. I recently spent the better part of the day there, using it as an away office. Wedge salad was delicious and the berry/banana smoothie was refreshing.
Coffee was delicious and service was great. A it crowded with stuff, but not bad when you are grabbing to go.
Great local coffee place. Sells not just coffee and pastries (both my cinnamon roll and cappuccino were delicious), but they also had necklaces for sale from what looked like a local artist, so supporting the local community. Indoor and outdoor seating, the misters were nice for the outdoor seats when it started heating up.
The place it's small but the kid's that work there are always nice.
my kids also like to go and enjoy the place.
Best local coffee joint in Phoenix. Great ambience and food offerings are nice. #1
Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, Sunny served us. The restaurant is gorgeous and relaxing. The pastries are amazing and you get a free one on your first visit!! I loved the antiques and repurposed touches to the renovated gas station. I really enjoyed the patio area as well.
Price was ok, a little too sweet not enough caffeine for the coffee, a little salty on the food. Nice friendly staff.
Had a great time here. Fresh made from scratch food, great coffee, great vibe.
The Coffee is delicious. You ask for it and they know how to make it. The staff is very acommodating. The food isn't that great. They have dry cupcakes and bread. the scones and muffins just kind of all taste the same. They do however have a really good chocolate chip cookie. I go there to get my day going with their coffee, but I don't like spending on food from them. I gave them five stars because the coffee is that good.
Super friendly staff. Best Americano I've ever had!
Great atmosphere. Fairly busy on a Saturday morning. Loved the Cubano coffee. Had a good menu, a few breakfast items.
Free pastry for first timers? And the are freshly made in house!! Whaaaaa? Super smilely helpful staff. We're hooked. Oh and the coffee is awesome too!
Yummy coffee and I love that you can stay or drive thru . The art inside is awesome to look at and they really set an ambience for you to stay and hang out.
Their muffins are AMAZING! Fresh and fantastic flavors!
I just had the best brownie eva! And their lemonade is amazing!
Good coffee, great BLT! Awesome muffins and other healthy choices.
Very cool place and enjoyed the atmosphere! Staff was very pleasant and helpful.
I tried the Cubano iced-it was delicious. The service was quick and the person who took my order was friendly and helpful
I drive 20 min one way to enjoy this place. Other coffee houses should take note of the great vibe of this place!
Truly a community coffee place. Not a boring chain or snotty hipster place
I've changed my review from 4 to 5 stars. I've been here 10x since my original review and the food and owner are amazing. The place seems a little disorganized and sometimes it is. With that said, it's got character and that matters to me. As for the review, the bacon...oh the bacon. The BLT and the breakfast sandwich with bacon are stupid good. The cinnamon rolls are damn near perfection. Get it heated and then bathe in it. SO raves about the coffee. Owner goes out of his way to provide amazing service. 5 stars, I've been won over.
Best coffee in Melrose with wonderful people and a vibe.
SUPER CHILL community seating nice outdoors seating, GREAT BAKED GOODS IN HOUSE EVERYDAY YUMSCIOUS! Get the Aztec Spicy Mocha or a Lavender Chai for some out side coffee delights.
Best bagel I've ever had.. seriously. Jalepeno cheese bagel and fresh made chai were so dam good.
This was my first time to the copper star coffee and all u can say is I was very impressed with the level of customer service and the atmosphere was wonderful, very relaxed and lid back energy just as they advertise. The coffee was great, not the burnt taste of other places! I think I found a new place to go and relax at and enjoy some great coffee.
Friendly stay and they have a nice selection of coffee drinks. Their mocha was great. They also have some pastries and I think they offer other foods as well. Fun atmosphere inside and out, like an old gas station. They ve got outside seating with water misters to keep you cool in Arizona s heat. Free WiFi, and couches inside. Some customers looked like they were working on their laptops, while others were socializing.
Better than Starbucks, check them out!
I love their coffee, it's so delicious and smooth. I crave Copper Star iced coffee daily now, after just trying it once!
Great local coffee shop in the neighborhood with a variety of offerings. Great pastries and sweets, a large selection of tea, as well as coffee. Has a great outside space to catch up or for meetings, and when it is cold, there is a fire setup as well. Has a drive through for folks in a rush and a number of regulars, which makes the place feel cozy and welcoming.
The staff was a little rude, they didn't seem to know their menu
Great place to have a cup of coffee and sit outside in the evening.
Looks are deceiving. Very pleasantly surprised. The Frozen chai was delicious.
Unique coffee shop, cool location and decor. They make cubanos, but they sweeter than I am used to.
The girl that helped us was very friendly n fast with our orde . The Bagels are delicious and they are home made at the shop. We traveled from Avondale. Recommend
Copper Star Coffee is the anchor establishment of the Melrose. The overall environment is relaxed and welcoming because the staff are warm, good folks. A special feature of Copper Star is the Sunday afternoon performances of True Flavor Blues Band. They are a local rarity ... outstanding musicians that actually deliver the Blues!
Great little coffee shop they make a great dirty chi latte.
The coffee here is truly amazing. We re pretty basic coffee drinkers (americanos), but the flavor to Copper Star Coffee was superb. The setup of this place is cute- and old gas station. However, they ve entirely closed their inside, so the outside is quite crowded at times.
Tucked away in downtown Phoenix I fell in love with this old gas station turned coffee shop. I felt instantly welcome as I was addressed upon entering. Their drinks were amazing, their service was quick and accurate, and I caught myself writing in this warm atmosphere for hours after catching up with an old friend. I can't wait to return. Definitely recommend this to my creative friends
Had a really good bagel with ham, cheese and egg with a nice cup of coffee...really nice people and cool atmosphere. I've been here a few times and would definitely go again.
Cool vibe and good menu selections, although a smaller than massive iced tea option would be nice.
Thank you! My morning was already filled with energy and happiness. All thanks to this shop and the waitress that served my coffee and bread properly and amazingly. Besides, their shop was a very good place to visit, for it was clean, comfortable, and stylish. It also has a very nice view that was overlooking the city. I mean, it was relaxing and perfect!
Best small coffee shop in Phoenix. Boasts Harney and Sons teas, which are a favorite brand of mine. Super chill and relatively quiet. Small, but delightful menu. Local art for sale there.
Great local coffee shop. Thank for hosting Coffee with a Congressman.
I absolutely love this place. It's neat, friendly, and the drive thru is very convenient. I always used to bring my dog in here on walks and they had dog treats on the counter, but some whiney snowflake complained and now they're not allowed inside.
Really nice and kind service, good coffee and nice tasty pastries to choose
I didn't have a lot of expectations for a non-chain coffee shop on 7th Street and Indian School but I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was calm and quite, the service was prompt. It is a nice place to sit down with a friend and talk. I had a big chocolate chip cookie and it was to die for, and a fruity tea. I highly recommend this place as a quite spot off the beaten path in a very interesting part of Phoenix.
Kind of based my Airbnb stay on this location so I might have food coffee. Not disappointed. Very cool vibe, quick service, tasty pastries and good coffee. First time in PHX, so tried to find places is like and this will be my go-to coffee shop the 5 days in here.
Great local coffee shop. The coffee drinks here are always good. If you're looking for a huge coffee ask for their jumbo size. This place also has a loyalty card so make sure to ask for one.
The best staff and even better coffee, thanks guys for being so awesome!
This is an OK place for coffer addicted people like me. The coffee is good, but the indoor space isn't big enough even it's wide open area. In the cool day, it'd be better to sit outside.
The location is great, but it's not easy to spot if you don't know the area.
Neighborhood staple. The owner is the nicest guy in town.
Good price and great place to just sit on my computer and do nothing
Liked the environment but the setup was not good for the number of people (flow was bad) and the coffee was just ok
The curry chicken salad was disgusting. Way too much oil on the salad and no curry flavor at all. Coffee was good though.
Lovely local place that has great tasting coffee and delicious baked goods.
Hands down my favorite coffee shop in Phoenix. They have amazing food, great atmosphere and they bring in such interesting people both as employees and customers. I LOVE this place!
Coffee is so bomb but just drove 20 minutes to get coffee because it says they close at 10:30, but at 6:20 they re closed. Please change your hours.
My favorite coffee shop! Coffee is excellent, staff are awesome, and location is also fantastic!
Cool place in cool neighborhood. Love the Cubano and I'm happy they serve their coffee in mugs as well.
Love this place! Great pastries, coffee and service. :)
Online/Yelp menu was completely different than in store and had limited options. The coffee and pastries are always 5 stars though
Small quiet and comfortable! Menu looks great as most coffee joints do but this had "tuxedo mocha".
loved this place from the first taste. really nothing but enjoyable experiences here, i'll be back. the prices are well within reason for the quality.
Above average coffee. Met the owner and you can tell he genuinely appreciates his customers.
Brisk day biz with lots of people enjoying some great coffee!
The staff is always ready with a smile no matter what time i show up. Their drive thru is always quick. Coffee amazing and muffins to die for. Such a great space. Highly recommend.
Fantastic place for baked treats, tea and coffee!! You can't go wrong! Strongly recommend going during winter and spring!
A very relaxed atmosphere with pretty much everyone doing something on a handheld device. They do serve a great cup of coffee. My favorite is their iced chai tea. The pastries and.. bagels pretty much always fresh unless its closing time but even then still pretty good. I haven't tried the other things on their menu food-wise however from the looks of it everyone seems to enjoy what they have in front of them. Overall a positive experience every time. Customer service is definitely something they do well. And it's in the Melrose district and right next to my dogs grooming place Wag n Wash.
Little, local place with good coffee and friendly staff and patrons. The only downside is that the live music can be too loud. So if you go on the weekend you better like jazz at high volumes. But hey, at least they have live music.
