Chill place, nice shaded patio with misters in the summer, and friendly birds. The coffee is pretty good too

I was spending some time in Phoenix and needed a coffee. I went on Google Maps and scrolled past 8 starbucks, a sketchy bikini coffee shop, and probably 2 or 3 interesting coffee shops to see Copper Star.

It was worth the drive. Fantastic Cappuccino, Fantastic Macchiato. This Chai however was something special.

I didn t sit down planning to eat lunch but after I found myself so pleasantly surprised I grabbed a sandwich, and was blown away.

I don t get to Phoenix often, but if I do I ll make sure to get back to Copper Star!

A local favorite. The BLTs are bomb, coffee is fresh and delicious and the baked goods are fresh. They never disappoint.

Cute spot. I didnt see the extra parking around the back. Saw everyone parking on the street and the drive thru was busy. Ill admit was a bit frustrated at the lack of parking. It wasn't until I had my coffee and back in my car before I noticed the sign for the extra parking. Must've been coffee on my brain when trying to get in. Lol. The day I was there a couple stood at the front of the line and we all waited for a while. When they came out it was then I realized the couple had ordered but blocked the stand from the rest of us. Not sure if the associates could see the rest of us and explains why they hadn't come out for such a long time. Either way the person taking our order was nice and offered suggestions. The coffee here hands down is THE hottest temperature i have ever had. Omg. Really good, but I had to wait patiently for it to cool down enough for me to enjoy.

I can't say enough good things about this place. Great atmosphere, great coffee drinks and in my opinion the best baked goods you can get. Prices are very reasonable and the staff is always very nice. A great local business.

This is the best coffee shop in town. Staff are super knowledgeable about everything about coffees and are always ready with advice and suggestions. They really make or served the best coffee that you haven't tried before. I am very happy to have found this coffee shop and I would recommend them to everyone I know. Thank you!

I'm okay with this spot. First and foremost, thank you to the employee who (when she found out it was my first time stopping in) gave me my lavender mocha on the house. That sort of friendliness and service is what many places lack!!! This place has the potential to ge great. I liked the music variety overhead, and the variety of small and large tables. And, of course, the staff was super chill, which is always a good thing.

I'm not a big fan of main stream/franchised coffee shops; I'm more of a mom-and-pop shop. My bro and sis-in-law are big coffee drinkers from Starbucks and Dutch Bros., but prefer this place any day. I ended up trying it one day and was won over. This establishment is pretty cool looking; it looks like used to be a gas station, and I'm pretty certain that it was, but still not sure. None the less, this place has awesome coffee with baristas that know how to make awesome coffee. Ever since last year, I've been a returning customer and recommend this place to anyone/everyone. Place is clean and cool-looking; the vibe is super chill and mellow; I like how you can drive up like in a normal gas station; and employees are super cool/chill, professional, courteous and have great recommendations for the day.

Great pastries, great coffee and drinks, nice staff, reasonable prices; what more could you want? It is a great place to hang out with friends or have a busines meeting. I highly suggest going here!

Excellent, friendly staff in a funky / hip environment. The food smell is intoxicating upon walking in and the atmosphere is excellent for working or grabbing a coffee with friends. Right in the heart of Melrose, this place will make you feel the fun transformation vibes that downtown Phoenix is experiencing.

Just discovered this place. Super cute. Super delicious tea. Great staff. Good wifi. Best tasting crust to a lemon pastry. I went for the first time a week ago and have been back 3 times since.

This is a very cool spot to chill out and have some coffee. I love how they have artwork from locals displayed on the walls. There isn't a lot of outdoor space and the place is somewhat small. The style and music is cool and they have free wifi! I recommend it.

Best coffee I have found in Phoenix. The staff is super friendly, and the environment is really cool. They are in this little old fashioned gas station, and for the drive through you pull up to a retro style pump to order. And even more the COFFEE IS AMAZING. I recently started drinking decaf espresso, instead of regular, and most places it doesn't compare to the regular. Here, however both are fantastic in taste and quality. I just love this coffee shop!

This converted gas station turned coffee shop located in Central Phoenix, has great ambiance, fast friendly staff and service. Very quaint.

We love this local shop, great coffee, great service, friendly staff, the owner is often there helping behind the counter and serving customers. They usually have a gluten free baked good option.

I had the Cubano coffee. Was delicious. People here chilling on their computers. I love this place.

Been coming here for about 7 years now and it never ceases me with the amazing guest service and quality . A great place to hang out and chill or just catch up on some work and school. Great vibes and energy. Love love this place!

Try the delicious bagels. They re made on-site, as are all the baked goods. I don t actually drink coffee, but they have an amazing selection of teas and make a damn fine protein smoothie.

It's a small place with a hip vibe. It can get a little crowded, but they have a number power outlets here and there if you need to plug in your laptop. You may need to share, or bring a powerstrip/extension. As for drinks, the espressos are solid and my favorite is the green tea chiller. It's a sweet fruity blend with green tea matcha that's addicting and not green at all. My only gripe is that the place can be freezing or too warm and they need to check on the restrooms more often.

Relaxing atmosphere, great coffee, friendly staff. This beautiful little coffee shop is just perfect. This coffee shop has been converted from an old gas station.

I absolutely love coming to this shop. The owner is so friendly and knows most people by name. He is friendly to the employees and customers. Additionally, they have great drinks and baked goods and see products from local artists. I enjoy the atmosphere on Saturday, and can sit for hours people watching and working on homework. They have breakfast snacks, wifi, a drive through and a good vibes.

Great service however, the drinks were mediocre....leaning more toward BAD.
The Thai iced tea was not a Thai iced tea. They put half and half in it instead of condensed milk. Also there was a strong cardamom flavor. It should be a pretty simple drink to make of you've ever been to a Thai restaurant.

Four stars for the great kids that work there. Kind of pricey.

I am truly one of the biggest coffee shop snob ever, and this is the first review I've ever written for any of them. I LOVE Copper Star!

I found this place about 2 months ago, and now I come here for hours at a time to study at their long community-style tables (they also have several individual and bar-style spots, if you prefer). There are more than enough outlets, so you never have to worry about your electronics dying on you. The music is awesome and not too loud, so it doesn't distract me from my studies. Enough lighting, temperature is just right, enough space that you don't feel "trapped" while studying - told you, I'm a snob!

The coffee and pastries are top notch. They have an amazing baker who comes in to bake all the pastries herself. More importantly, for me, the environment that the staff and the owner, Bill, create is what makes this place my favorite.

There are more "regulars" that frequent this shop than any other place I've seen. The owner knows them all my name and back-story. It's a great community feeling.

Whether you are looking for a great study spot, a place to do business, or just a relaxed community environment to enjoy a coffee on a Sunday afternoon, Copper Star is wonderful.

We're from the mountains, but whenever we're down in the valley Copper Star is always one of our first stops. Their Lavender Chai iced coffee drink is TO DIE FOR. I'm not even kidding, I day dream about that baby.

What a great place to have coffee and maybe a muffin or scone! The staff are super friendly, the owners are interactive, and the location is pretty neat being that it is a former gas station. They even have gas pumps in the Drive-Thru! Of course, there's no gas in those pumps. The coffee was delicious and made absolutely correct. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone

Tasty iced chai tea. Chill ambiance. Variety of music heard overhead. I could sit for hours in there and not be annoyed or bothered by anything or anyone.

I have high expectations for this place! It unfortunately closes at 10pm, not 10:30! So I'm dropping this here until I can properly review it but the place looks and smells wonderful. Can't wait to try the coffee.
