Great place! I have had both the meat patty and the veggie patty and they are both really good. But if you are looking for a good veggie burger, then wow, this is the one! I had to ask a server if I got the wrong order because I could not tell it wasn't meat! It was flavorful with a meaty texture (from Hungry Planet). They have fun combinations and toppings for their burgers and great sides. On the picture is the Downtown burger with veggie patty. Good place if you like to watch some sports while you eat. I definitely recommend this place.

Forget looking anywhere else for an amazing hamburger-- MB has become our favorite. For between $9 and $14 you get a seriously gourmet burger and a side of perfectly seasoned fries (try the sweet potato)!

If you're craving a great burger, want to escape the tourist crowds and hit a spot created by and favored by locals, Mesa Burger is it.

Added plus: surf-themed interior with friendly service and indoor heaters to keep it toasty!

Good food, similar style to Eureka except more local and slightly less glitz. Had the Goodland Burger which was a little undercooked for me but perfectly edible. Little messy, but delivers everything it says.

We had a group of 6, and we came in 25 mins before closing. The staff was still absolutely amazing and beyond accommodating! I felt bad for keeping them late. They are very hard workers. Our food was wonderfully fresh and delicious. Thank you, Mesa Burger!

The onion rings were great, and so were the fries. But the burgers were dripping with grease, the bun was soggy, the meat was undercooked, the bacon was chewy, and the lettuce was flaccid. The TASTE??? eh. Ok for a 2nd class burger joint. The servers looked like they didn't know what they were doing and got several orders mixed up. I would say they were having a bad day, but from other customers I have heard that this is typical. I can't recommend this place.

I like the burgers here, but I don t love them. I m not a fan of most of flavor combinations. It s all just about one or two ingredients too many.

I think the main detractor is the mismatch between price point and overall experience. I don t want to pay $20 bucks for lunch at a counter service restaurant in a strip mall where I have to duke it out with the 50 other patrons for a table overlooking a parking lot.

We ordered two burgers, the Montecito & the sand spit, and a chocolate shake. The burgers we're well seasoned but were over-cooked. The milkshake tasted like it had too much malt and tasted closer to a carnation breakfast drink than a milkshake. Good ingredients but poor execution. The atmosphere is nice but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. Instead I'd save a few bucks and go to Kyle's kitchen instead.

The burger went pretty well. Lots of toppings for you to choose from. Love the shoe string fries, really crispy. Great burgers made of real beef, cooked with real fire. Great home style. Wow and new condiments.

This is a great little burger spot! Their version of nachos is fantastic, get it to share or if you are extremely hungry because it is way to big of a meal for 1. Also, always add deep fried jalapenos to any burger.

Wonderful people and a wonderful place. My mom and I were displaced with the natural disasters and these people were kind enough to give us a free meal when we were having financial troubles. We will forever be thankful to this astablishment.

Excellent food and great helpful and friendly staff. The biggest decision choosing what to have. Both burgers I have tried were delicious. I had the Pit their version of nachos and they were delicious.

Chef Cat Cora burger joint does not disappoint. Multiple napkins required but well worth the risk. Great sound track. Small but good wine selection. Burger bun was fresh & delicious. Cool combo of premixed burger choices. Panko onion rings were fab as are original fries. Worth the Uber from the Funk Zone.

Good service and decent food. Sweet potato fries were really bad and had to take the bratwurst off the burger as it was rubbery and flavorless. Wouldn't go out of your way to visit as the reviews made it sound much better than it was, but maybe our food subpar to their usual.

Another incredible spot to grab a burger and beer in santa Barbara. Their veggie patties are delicious, they are the closest that a vegetarian could get to a proper patty. The fixings they add onto the burgers add a lot to the flavor.

Best veggie burger ever! I get the Mesa burger with veggie patty on sour dough with no sauce to make it vegan. Pictures attached. The actual veggie burger, the Shoreline, is good but not as good in my opinion. The fries and onion rings are delicious. The food is more than enough for one person. The prices are reasonable. They also have an Axxess deal and beer on tap.

Mesa Burger has been on my "to do" list for several years and i finally made it to their Mesa doors this week.
Being just blocks from the beach and in what we call the "mesa," Mesa Burger is deco'd in a laid back beach vibe. The physical plant is spotless (though having been open for several years) and features mostly outdoor seating but does have indoor seats. We chose to sit indoor because it was a bit chilly.
This unit features "QSR" service, meaning quick service restaurant which means you order at a counter and the food is delivered to you at your table via a number that you're given. With some units this type of "service" is intrusive and muddle headed (as in the Atrium in Los Feliz). Here it makes sense and it works.
We ordered:
Mesa Burger: the plainest burger on the menu to which i added no other condiments than listed on the menu board. Parmesan fries.
Hope Ranch Chicken Sammy: grilled chicken breast
Southwestern Salad with grilled Chicken
I ordered the Mesa Burger without cheese and much else as a way of really getting to the heart of the Mesa Burger philosophy.
The Brioche bun is very fresh, slightly grilled and very buttery. Served with the Bun and the Beef Patty is lettuce, tomato, onion slices, dill pickles and the "mesa burger sauce." All of the accoutrements are super fresh and crispy. There is not enough of the Mesa sauce to make any kind of impression. It looked to be a variation of a 1000 island sauce. My biggest issue is with the Beef Patty. I was not asked how i wanted the burger cooked and so i received it almost well done. But the quality of the beef was my biggest problem. It was too fatty and therefore most of it was left on the grill...i.e. melted away. Too bad because i would have assumed the patty would be what is called an 80/20 mix as in 80% lean meat to 20% fat. The fat content here was higher which produced a wimpy, slightly greasy beef patty.
The Truffle/Parmesan fries are very good and arrived hot and crispy and not greasy. Good Stuff!
The Hope Ranch contains grilled chicken breast, smoked bacon, lettuce , tomato, swiss cheese, pesto aioli.
The grilled chicken breast is the real star of this visit to Mesa Burger. It is very well seasoned/marinated and simply delicious.
The bacon was well smoked, not too salty but was limp not crisp. The produce as on the Mesa Burger was very fresh and crisp and once again the Pesto Aioli was in short supply. Too bad because i scraped some off the sammy and it is delicious.
The real star of our visit here is the Southwestern Salad. This salad features arugula, grilled corn, cherry tomatoes, black beans , tortilla strips , gouda cheese and mustard vinaigrette.
All of the condiments are fresh, well curated and add to the overall excellence. The standouts though is the aforementioned Chicken Breast and the super special Mustard Vinaigrette which is very high on Horseradish which complements this peppery Arugula perfectly. This dish is very Good Stuff!
Service here was very courteous and personal and they guys who worked here asked several times about our food and drinks. I will be back.

Everyone there was very nice and professional they also were helping mudslide victims and we're giving free food to those that were affected so I was one of them and I appreciate it very much. On top of that the food was very good keep up the good work

Here's what's good with the "mesa burger", the portion sizing is perfect, it is the right ammount of food, and the atmosphere is laid back. But, and I mean "but" in a strong way, it is overpriced, with no real scheme to justify the price (like kyle's kitchen donating to special needs kids) or grass-fed beaf. For 3 burgers and a drink, I paid upwards of 50$. At a burger spot like the habit or kyles kitchen I could have spent no more than 20$ for the same quality of food and portions. The price is obscene and the service is great. What would fix these problems is if the price for food was cut but 1/3, and the food was better.

Expensive, but quality food and good service. I ordered the grilled chicken and it was cooked perfectly. I'll have to try a burger next time. The staff was great in helping make a recommendation and attentive to our needs. I would come back if I felt the need to treat myself or company.

I had the Montecito burger (without mushrooms) and it was arguably the best burger I"ve had since I moved to Santa Barbara. The fries are great as well. I've never been upset after eating here.

For being a local veteran born and raised in santa barbara for 38 of my years I must say that I had a super unique experience when walking inside Mesa Burger one Friday evening scoping out the scene inside I felt this incredible positive energy all around wonderful customers enjoying their meal with bright smiles all around when I ordered the Funk zone the friendly nice staff team at the register made sure to hear you out in detail when choosing to customize my order, well when I took the first bite it had this juicy taste delicious close to well done burger with the perfect cooked bacon with a mouth watering flavor in each bite and roasted tomato was good and that's why it makes it so special and their sides of pesto and ranch etc are simply amazing plenty of choices on the menu definitely referring friends and family to this particular location and I'm making sure to come back here very soon again I appreciate everyone working so hard just for long line of customers that love it here thank you.

Really delicious burgers, but very pricey for what you get. Order at the counter and take a number to your table.

Burgers are $11-12. Pint of beer is $7-8. Family of four with only one beer and one ice tea was $50.

Burgers are top quality though. Juicy meat, soft and fresh buns, high grade toppings. Good fries and fresh green salad. Highly recommended for when you want to splurge on an expensive burger.

Pretty good over all, but just a bit overpriced. $12 burger and fries, for a walk-up and order.
The food is creatively prepared, and pretty tasty. The staff is friendly, and not in the plastic "Starbucks Barista 'how is your day'".

Very delicious place to have a burger or salad, named after different spots from around SB, prices are ok mid range and very friendly staff. I will definitely be back to try more items.

The burgers and fries were very good, although slightly small for the price. The only main problem was that the wait was fairly long, but we came on a weekend and it might be shorter during the week. We will definitely come back though and hope the place does well.

We absolutely love Mesa Burger. Best burger in town. Anytime we go to Santa Barbara we stop here. The fresh fish is so good and the staff and atmosphere are perfection. My son s Mesa Burger hat got stolen and we called the Manager- Blue. She was so helpful and compassionate and shipped him a brand new hat. We can t wait to go back. The service, food and atmosphere are all top notch. Hurry in, you re gonna love it.
