I have only been to Mesa Burger one time, based on my first visit I am rating 4 stars. The location is really cool and the restaurant is a mellow casual vibe. Its right by the beach so you can come here after surfing Leadbetter!

Speaking of which I tried the Leadbetter burger which consist of sliced red onions/grilled pineapple salsa/ crushed avocado/lettuce/ginger teriyaki. The bun was super fresh and was sized approriately for the burger. All the ingredients made sense in that burger. No complaints and nothing needed.



Both burgers where $12 each. Fair price for what you get. I also tried the truffle parm fries...and this was the first time I have ordered those from a restaurant and not feel ripped off. They gave me so much truffle parm cheese flavor...I would literally just go there for those and a beer.

This place gives excellent service. Food came out right on time, with burger and fries cooked to perfection. Great experience.

Decent burger for a tourist place. Stock to the Mesa burger and skip the fancier ones.

It was ok, but tries too hard to be modern and innovative.....having a burger should be easy to choose. I felt like I was picking between which options I disliked the least instead of what sounded good.

One of the best burgers I've ever had Patty's taste fresh everything tastes fresh on the burger. And the fries are always crispy

This place is awesome. They did a great job on the interior. I had the Funk Zone which was huge. It had BBQ sauce, bacon, and a fried egg. I ordered it with regular fries but there were a bunch of other styles of fries offered. Maybe next time. Give it a try

Excellent burger, and a metal cup of fries. Husband had a great cold beer...we loved the place!

$86 for my family of 6... good burgers but very expensive

So overrated. Undersalted bland burger with insipid mushrooms... Emphasis on the mush. Good fries, service with a bit of an attitude. Just go to the habit or even Eureka if you want a chain burger that's better

Tried the Montecito Burger with Sweet Potato Waffle Fries... awesomeness x12!!! This joint is unbelievable. How am I just now discovering this place?!
I came in to try it out because of an alert leading me to some great reviews, and I have now been enlightened...is this what the other burger joints have been trying to do all this time?...better try harder, that's all I have to say.

I was glad to read in the AAA Westways magazine that Cora was inspired to open this restaurant. I had seen her on Iron Chef and I liked her then. Her menu is exceptional the flavors are something to enjoy and it was a visit I will definitely go back to

Nice burgers and more. You can swap the burger for turkey or chicken burger or fish. I had Ahi Tuna, yummy. I also upgraded to the Truffle and Parmesan fries. Also lovely. The indoor/outdoor space was great on the sunny day we went there.

Update Feb 2018: Almost 6pm, few people seated. Just wondering why I have to wait 20 minutes for a simple burger?

Lots of different styles. Good quality meat. Quick service. Nice area.

- Parking: free lot parking out front.
- Outside: inside a small lot next to Blender s, below Dolce Salon & Spa, and across from Lazy Acres market. Reminds me of a cottage.
- Inside: modern style dining area, concrete floor, and industrial ceiling with bare piping. The eating area spills into an outdoor patio. 2 cash registers, a fountain drink dispenser. The wall was decorated with wax or crayon strings. Server bring the food to your table.
- Nutrition: Montecito burger with a side of sweet potato waffle fries
- Troubles: the line can be a little long, not everyone is willing to pay for a $15 hamburger meal
- Summary: the burger is served on a restaurant-standard brioche bun, and the burger stood a little high. Cutting the burger in half would have made it easier to eat. The sweet potato fries were surprisingly savory despite the scant salting. All in all, a decent burger on the Mesa.

Their Funk Zone burger was delicious, it had an interesting and unique taste compared to burgers I ve tried before. I added avocado and crispy onion strings to my burger and it worked well together. The lemonade was also good. It was a bit busy when I went but it was Valentine s Day.

We were those people- Took 20 minutes to order, asked for everything when they came out and we're about as annoying of a customer as you could be. Food was astounding, service was even better. Would recommend to anyone in the area

Going in it looked nice, once I began to order there where 4 staff members on there phones at the counter. I asked if any sauses came on my burger and was replied rudely that, what l saw on the menue is what I was only going to get. I ordered a $14.00 burger, Sadly to say I had high hopes of great flavor. It tasted like a plain unseasoned meatloaf. The only thing that had flavor was the bun. I was told the place only taste great when the celebrety chief is present. Well she wasnt there that day and it was poor food and service.

Way too crowded way too noisy food way overpriced but if you're looking for that Gourmet hamburger then I don't think there's anything that can compare to it just not my cup of tea

Best veggie burger ever...all vegan except for the bun which is gluten free but very pricey.

Burgers taste great for the price. However, service is occasionally on the slow side.

I had "The Pit" which is fries with a burger patty, cheese and a bunch of other goodies on top. Really good flavors, I will get this again.

Wow. One of the best buyers I had. I forgot the name but it had a huge onion rings in it.

Only one hamburger worse on the Central Coast..... McDonalds.....

Chimmichuri Burger for Burger week. Really good with an 805 and some hot sauce.

Great food! Not your average burger...so yummy. The service was really good as well.

Let me first set up our situation coming into Mess Burger. We were a group of 4 adults and 4 small kiddos. We had sand all over and partially wet from playing at the local beach. One kiddo was Uber tired, cranky, and was expressing very well. The staff and customers were more than understanding of our situation. So service and atmosphere was pretty casual and better than expected.

Ok, how about the food? We had the Mission burger, which I would recommend. It had avacado, jalapenos, tortilla chip strips, and a medium well done burger (just a tad pink showing) aka perfect. All our burger s came out the same way. I added in the truffle fries and a Figueroa Mountain Hoppy Poppy IPA (draft). There's a kids menu so the kiddos were more than happy as well.

Update: Went back again, yesterday, and was pretty disappointed. I don't drink soda unless I'm out to eat and and I do enjoy a diet coke with a burger. Their diet coke dispenser was broken so that was one issue, the other issue was the food, it was just "ok" this time. I had to wait longer than usual and my food was luke warm. I guess I expected more from a $10 hamburger. I try not to be picky but everyone has their limits.

I adore this restaurant! They prepare superb dishes, their menu is rich, The chef in that spot is a specialist, I like very much tasting all their food. The food is consistently of high class, the attitude towards the visitors is friendly. I often go to this place and I not even once was unsatisfied. Highly recommended.

Yes, they do have a good gluten free burger. However, their customer service is often lacking. Managers are great, but they are dealing with fickle staff so I do feel bad for management. Also, don't assume when ordering gluten free that it will be gluten free. Their special sauce has gluten, and when I ordered GLUTEN FREE, you'd think they would make sure it is gluten free....Nope! I called back after smelling gluten in my take out order after opening box. Cause yes it does smell to me as someone that must avoid it at all costs. I called management and was told the sauce has gluten & that I am supposed to let their staff know I am highly allergic & not just ordering gluten free cause of dietary needs. I was taken aback...First off if I order gluten free that states it right there, so if you have sauce with gluten & I ordered gluten free then you are not giving me what I ordered. Secondly I did tell their staff it is cause I am allergic! Also, other restaurants with actually happy & knowledgeable staff will always ask are you allergic to gluten. Any how hope their staff gets better cause they are really the only part of Mesa burger which is tasteless, and cold. (of course management & cooks are great!). Love this place but if you are going to keep offering a Gluten free option then make sure your staff are at all times aware & knowledgeable & demonstrate they care about each & every customer.

Very disappointed based on tbe reviews. Staff friendly, smelled great and nice decor. Salad was watery, tbe burger was juicy but did have any favor and sauces were a miss for dipping.

This is a great little burger joint. It has a healthy choice menu as well. Great for a quick bite.

I never been here before but this place is awesome. Way more awesome than possum the burger is phenomenal man... I can't wait to go there again. Had the Montecito burger and fries it was the most incredible burger I've had in years. The brioche bun was grilled and tasted crunchy and soft at same time. This was a great experience. I dont write reviews often but this was great. Thank you!!!

Be prepare to pay $10 for a burger but they are worth it

By far THE best burgers in Santa Barbara! The quality of food and affordability are unparalleled. Fast service for the amount of patrons with ample seating.

For a burger place, it pretty good. You would think that they might put a basic burger on the menu though. Everything is notched up a level because a chef owns it, but as much as my wife loves to eat there, there are times I just crave a normal burger, with basic condiments on it, not something they offer.
Also, parking can be tight.

Not worth the price of the wait. Tiny burgers like maybe a 1/3 lb soaking wet

They're good but not great. Our seems to mostly be about the toppings. The fact that you cannot order it rare or well done kinda tells it all.

Good beer on tap and good service. I expected more of the burger with chef Cat on board. The hamburger , cheese and bun were great but the slab of ham was dried out and topped with dill pickles which didn't work with the ham. The fries are good and served in a cup so they stay warm. My date loved her burger, so we'll be back soon.

This is a great little burger joint. They have healthy options also. It's a great place to go hang out talk and have a burger.

Food was great, and the architecture was really cool for a burger place. It's automatically covid-19 compliant! Very nice! The staff was very nice too.
