Didn't stay at the hotel, would love to have. Visited solely to go to the Tonga Room. It's an awesome tiki bar in the basement of the hotel. Incredible atmosphere and delicious exotic cocktails. It's also set around the original pool to the 1907 Fairmont. It feels a lot like pirates of the Caribbean mixed with a Tiki bar theme. Awesome place, a must visit while in The City.

Lovely hotel with great views obviously. We're upgraded to the back tower with great views of SF and s bit of the Bay. Purchased Muni and cable car tickets at the coffee shop downstairs and managed a car free day around SF. Great location near Union square and the ferry building and room was really nice. Only issues were that the water pressure in the shower was very low to conserve water, and parking is ridiculously expensive (and the parking turnaround is small so you are rushed to get in and out). Otherwise was a great weekend staycation for us with the central location and great views.

Overpriced and quite frankly an awful place. Check in staff are a particular type of 'jobs worth' that I was surprised to find in any hotel in America. Food just awful and eye wateringly expensive. The Hotel itself is beautiful and the views amazing. But they need to retrain their staff and do something about the food. Would not stay there again. There are equally beautiful hotels woth better attitudes.

Our event was at the Ballroom and my only turn off was by the Food service attendants. It was crowded and some were trying to get through in a rude manner, giving is a "stink eye" if the had a hard time getting by. Not cool at all. Poor customer service, making people feel unwanted and not appreciated for spending thousands of $ to give the Fairmont their business.

It looked... Regal(?) I guess... As I rode past it smoking a cigarette, while on my skateboard. The previous time I'd stayed here it was awesome, greatly comfortable, really big room with an awesome bathroom.

We love Fairmont Hotels because they take care of our every need when traveling or on vacation. The rooms and amenities are so nice and comfortable that sometimes we don't want to leave the hotel property for siteseeing excursions. Not that you would need to! Everything is right there for your pleasure!

Beautiful hotel, and nice room with a stunning view of the bay, but the fitness area was a disaster with cardio equipment down for "maintenance" and dirt/construction debris everywhere, for multiple days in a row. Since getting in a morning workout is one of the most important things to me when travelling for work, this had a significant negative impact on my experience.

The property is well appointed with classic and elegant furnishings and the service staff were friendly. However, the air conditioning was rather faint and unlike other hotels with the same price point, the maintenance of the suite could be greatly improved. It's located uphill and walking to the hotel may pose a challenge for those who are seeking proximity to Union Square.

Pros:

Pros:
It's an amazing and beautiful hotel. Located in the heart of San Francisco. You can walked down the street to the nearest restaurant and it's sooo close to Union Square. Breathing taking views of the city through the hotel rooms.

Cons:
No free WiFi ($30.00 for 24 hours of wifi)
No free parking ($70 bucks per 24 hours) with in and out privileges...definitely take uber or walk to places!!!
No indoor or outdoor pool

What a great place to be. We truly enjoyed this legendary hotel and the stunning bay views from our spacious room in one of the upper floors.
The only thing we were missing was a spa and pool area they are currently working on.

An emblematic hotel with a privileged location and a beautiful view, all its facilities are well maintained, its staff very pleasant and attentive, the hotel has beautiful lounges and very beautiful internal gardens, the restaurant food was good and the rooms comfortable!

Here for a tourism media event, my room feels like it's in the basement. I should have Air B&Bd and at least vern able to choose how bad my room is, not have it 'selected' for me. Have been here before, this is pitiful

I wasn t appreciated with the customer service in the beginning especially with my room requests and agent (Bowen). However Alyssa from Concierges/Front Desk was friendly and helpful she really listen and understand guest. She was the only agent fulfilled all the requests and went over beyond with fantastic efficiency

As for 400 $ per night hotel very lousy service, noisy air-conditioning in the room and extra paid wifi. Don't let them place you in so called new rooms, these were refurbished, but there is not even flip flops availabile, not to mention complimentary tea or coffee, shoe cleaning set or sawing kit, like you get in very three star hotel. In general: pick the other place it in SF.

This is a fun place to visit around Christmas time. The festive holiday decor in the sitting area is in full swing, complete with the giant gingerbread house (which sounds more impressive than it looks).

This review is for Afternoon Tea only. I have never stayed at the Fairmont so I can't speak to the actual hotel. But, I was disappointed by tea. It is in a lovely dining room setting, but the food wasn't as good as I was expecting. The scones were tiny and some of the sandwiches were a but dry. They also charge $20 for a refill plate of more scones/sandwiches. In London most tea places will bring you unlimited sandwiches/scones/desserts. We were still so hungry after tea that we had to order full meals off the regular menu. The tea selection was decent and they do keep filling up your teapot which was nice. I like the Fairmont. I just wouldn't come back here for Afternoon Tea.

The rooms and most of the service was very good. We had called two days ahead and was told early checkin would likely not be a problem but when we got there, it was not available. I was told to wait until 3pm which would mess up our early arrangement. So my only option was to pay for an upgrade. A bit dissapointing to us because they put us on the 3rd floor where there was quite a bit of road noise.

They brought nice toiletries for our children and the rest of the stay was good. And the room was nice of course.

My three year old son and I had a wonderful stay. All the staff including housekeepers in the hallways were very welcoming to us, especially making my son feel special. Beautiful property. Thank you Fairmont San Francisco!

For holiday season Fairmont Gingerbread House

For holiday season Fairmont Gingerbread House

San Francisco hotels really get in the holiday mood as well, and one of the most magnificent hotel holiday displays is at the Fairmont Hotel atop Nob Hill. The hotel constructs an enormous two story gingerbread house every year on display in the lobby. It s so big that adults can walk through it. Kids will especially enjoy the working miniature trains that encircle the creation. The grand opening this year for the Fairmont s gingerbread house is on November 23, 2018.

This is a grand old hotel that feels like it's been here forever. My dad remembers being really impressed with it a few decades ago when there was a convention in one of the ball rooms and taking him back a few months ago he says nothing has changed except a restaurant moved and the entertainment at the bar is different.

We had reservations to eat at Laurel Court and it was a lovely night. The clams were a bit too spicy, but the service and decor were very nice.

Went here to have happy hour at the Tonga room. The drinks were made well and the vibe was great. If you have a chance to chill for an hour or so make sure you get a drink here just to take the edge of the day off then on with the rest of your night.

The Fairmont Hotel is an excellent place. Beautiful and incomprehensible. Its managers and staff is a very professional character. And good treatment. And excellent attention. For your customers. As for your employees. And I am proud to be part of Fairmont Hotel. And the ultimate satisfaction. And security in me. It is God's blessing. By being and developing my work. Successfully every day. Therefore I thank God for the blessing of my work. And because of that, there is the provision and the sustenance. For my family my beloved wife and my son. God bless my work. And to each of my colleagues. Who work for Fairmont Hteles Risurs. Heads and managers ...

Early California environment with Continental atmosphere. Reastaurant with good choices from light to full brunch. We always enjoy staying here. Friendly, well-trained staff. Remodeled rooms are very nice; still maintaining that early California flavor!

The Fairmont Hotel is the grand dame in San Francisco. Situated atop Nob Hill, the hotel has a majestic front exterior. Inside the lobby there are marble columns and wood paneling.
It s inspiring to lounge in the lobby and imagine all The dignitaries, famous movie stars, American Presidents who have stayed at the Fairmont.
During holiday time, the hotel becomes a festive wonderland with a full-sized gingerbread village and castle that is a showpiece. The Christmas trees are so decorative it s almost impossible to pass on taking family & friends photos in front of these holiday icons.
What a wonderful venue to celebrate those special moments (weddings, birthdays, graduation & prom parties). The exclusive atmosphere makes this hotel special.
For fans, there is a special Tony Bennett statue at the front of the hotel. He truly left his heart in San Francisco. But most particularly at the Fairmont.
Enjoy a delicious brunch in the Laurel Court restaurant. Or have cocktails there in the evening.
There is an onsite exercise facility at the hotel. But you can just step outside the front door and run or walk up and down the hills!
Enjoy the views atop Nob Hill. There is no more rarefied air than here.

We went to the Tonga Room in the Fairmont Hotel, which was like a hidden gem. You would never guess a place like that exists in a hotel like this. The drinks were delicious, but would have like some seating area for the bar.
