Quality place to stay. They are on the ball. You can be entertained walking around this historical hotel. There's an amazing story in the hall of pictures.....staff is attentive, fast responders, room service is really good especially for the cost. I'm impressed. It's too bad the fitness room is extra $....but whatever, no biggie. Walk a hill instead I guess.

Gorgeous hotel with history but I believe they rely on that a bit too much as the quality of food is bland and pricey. There isn't much relevant appeal other than the historical and atmospheric significance.

Historic grand hotel in a great/safe location. We walked or Ubered everywhere. Rooms are traditional but very clean with a wide variety of window views. Restaurant off lobby is very expensive and service is slow. We took advantage of 3rd night free offer so price was decent for summer holiday in August.

The stay at Fairmont San Fran itself was ordinary,...

The stay at Fairmont San Fran itself was ordinary, but what bothers me is their customer service and how they handled the billing & check-out process.

When checking in, I asked to pay cash (USD) for the overnight parking when checking out. However during check-out, I was advised that they had already billed me the night before against my request. Therefore when the amount was refunded back to my card, I had to pay exchange rate fees for the expensive parking, which should never have been charged to my card to begin with.

Here is where things get bizarre. In chronological order, Fairmont's Customer Service e-mailed me the following in back and forth separate e-mails:

1. Fairmont: "Please allow 7-12 business days for the refund to show back up on your statement."

Me: After waiting 1 month, nothing appeared on my statement.

2. Fairmont: "I am seeing that the refund was processed on our end. If you still have not received the refund in your account I would recommend contacting your bank to find out when the funds will be released into your account."

Me: After checking with my bank, my bank confirmed that nothing was on hold.

3. Fairmont: "Our Accounting department reviewed your folio and account, and found that a gift card was authorized...Our Front Office team did not have a confirmed mailing address on file for this gift card to be sent to."

Me: ...

4. Fairmont: "Unfortunately, we cannot provide a refund to your credit card because the payment was made in cash. In order to refund, we are able to provide a gift card or can write a check. Issuing a gift card is the faster option, as writing a check is a much longer process with our accounting system. "

Me: ??? Yet Fairmont was able to charge my credit card to begin with...

After 4 months, this hotel still has not mailed me anything to compensate for their unauthorized charging and now ignores all of my e-mails.

This is a beautiful hotel with a wonderful holiday...

This is a beautiful hotel with a wonderful holiday tradition of decorations. I stayed here many times before I moved to San Francisco and it was always a wonderful experience. Now that I live here, I love recommending it to out-of-town visitors. I was here most recently to view the holiday decorations with guests. So charming and beautiful. I really appreciate the effort.

It's amazing and just really looks like a "Grand hotel", nothing bad to it other than our original room smelled like smokers smoke, but they upgraded us immediately to a room that was a lot nicer!

Disorganized, took too long to receive our order at the bar. We all saw our drinks just sitting on a plate on the bar. Took over 10 minutes for waiter to respond. Too expensive for lack of service. Christmas tree was a fake, loud, chaotic scene over Christmas. Wouldn't recommend.

Gorgeous hotel, very fancy-looking ballrooms. Was looking at this place for possibly wedding reception. It's out of my price range but if you've got the money to shell out, it would be an amazing reception.

This place is awesome. We had the suite at 704 and it was a beauty. We were dressed as Santa walking through. The huge Christmas Tree was lit up Anna's they had staff everywhere for your convenience.

Beautiful landmark hotel with awesome amenities, friendly and attentive staff, and gorgeous decor. However, I was really disappointed for them charging guests $12.95 for wifi ($19.95 for premium), especially for a luxury hotel where nightly room rates are already skyhigh. Even the lobby has a free guest wifi network which can be accessed by any visitor. However, this network does not reach the rooms themselves.

Came to my room and found rotten fruits and cheese...

Came to my room and found rotten fruits and cheese and a welcome note of some other persons nane. The food in the laurel court was really bad, i odered bone in chicken and the chicken was bland and later found it to be raw, my server was extremely rude and unpleasant, j guess some hospitality lessons are needed for the staff at the laurel court.
However my in room dining food was execllent and very warm and welcoming staff!

It's a very nice hotel. I didn't actually stay at the location as I was just there to see the gingerbread house, which was actually made out of real gingerbread! But the staff courteous and friendly to everyone.

The hotel itself was amazing to be in and explore, and dinner and drinks at the Tonga room was phenomenal. A bit crowded on the dance floor, but that's too be expected at a popular location on a Saturday night.

Beautiful experience from Fairmont San Fran. They set up our room with a view for our engagement and gave us ice w champagne and chocolate coated strawberries + a lovely card I wouldn t of enjoyed this city if it weren t for all the staff s amazing service. Thank you for all your hard work.

Beautiful hotel with delicious meals. The rooms in this hotel are prepared excellently and all of the staff are extremely helpful. Sitting in almost the middle of San Fransisco I highly encourage you to visit this location.
