Beautifully decorated building. The concierge desk and wait staff were all attentive and kind. I enjoyed my time there.

Such a beautiful hotel. Whether you are staying there or visiting the hotel, the staff makes you feel welcome. Around Christmas time they have the most beautiful tree and gingerbread house.. The restaurant is great as well. A luxurious hotel that makes you feel home
A lovely place with a charming and calm atmosphere. The Christmas decorations are worth a visit, especially the gingerbread house.Unfortunately the espresso wasn't as great. So as long as you are not going for coffee you will be fine.
My boyfriend and I stayed for a night at the beautiful, iconic Fairmont in San Francisco over the holidays. The front desk attendant was lovely (as were the lobby decorations!) and upgraded us to one of the 12th floor signature rooms in the Tower building. The views of the Bay did not disappoint! The gingerbread house is also something to see. Amazing hotel, can t wait for my next visit!
I have been there many, many years ago and I fell in love with this hotel. It was not the newest but it exudes character and history. It does not always have to be new. The inner values count and what you make of it .. I was most satisfied and can only pass on positive. I have never forgotten it in all the years LG
Went to a Taittinger Champagne event in the glorious Presidential Suite. From the Moroccan-tiled billiards room to the 2-storey round library, this place is amazing! There's an outdoor area with spectacular views of the city and bay, too.
The line for the Tonga Room starts early and yes, it takes awhile to get a table. But the service is on point and food delicious. The bellman let us take the house car back to our hotel instead of getting us a taxi. Talk about special treatment!
Great place to stay in San Francisco. It is a very modern and luxury hotel. I love it
The tonga room is pretty much incredible. A little pricey, but worth every penny.
Rooms are spacious & well appointed. Maintenance is fast to respond, staff is friendly, and catering foods are delicious. Elevators are unfortunately very slow but the hotel seems to be preparing for an upgrade.
We went to The Tonga room for cocktails and dinner. It is a very unique dining experience. The food is fine but not amazing. The tiki cocktails are fun and very tasty. However, prepare yourself for the check coming, this place is EXPENSIVE. If the food and drinks aren't expensive enough, they even add on a cover charge for music. After spending $1500 for a group dinner and 20% tip, I don't expect to also pay a cover!
The restaurant needs remodeling. The food not very good
They have very good Christmas tree and decoration. Lot of people go just to see the tree.
Went in to the Fairmont to see the Christmas display - amazing! The gingerbread house in particular was fabulous.
The lobby is very upscale. I think that there are not many similar people, but you can take the bicycle to the room and store it. There is ample space, so there is also a gym and you can train on rainy days.
Very comfortable rooms. Problems with Wi-Fi and key cards were resolved quickly after having to go talk to the concierge in person.
Tonga Room was pretty cool. The drinks tiki drinks are good. Food is kinda meh.
Beautiful Hotel. We went to the Tongo room. Ok food & drinks but fun atmosphere!
Walked in asking the hot and were greayed by a lovely employee. We asked for directions to the The Tonga room....waited for the one elevator(because the other was out or order) walked down the long hallway to the bar....whoops..I guess she forgot that it was closed. Whooops. Guess it wouldnt been as bad i I wasnt in high heels
Nice place with beautiful architecture.
Pro tip: if staying in the newer rooms, make sure you remove your card from the wall slot, otherwise the main light won't fully turn off (even if you flip it's switch).
Great Halloween decorations fun place and very nice
I visited theTonga Room. It is a very cool space designed to look like a tiki hut. There is a floating stage with live music. Good speciality cocktails too
Nice older hotel. Too stuffy for my taste and extremely over priced. Had an event at the hotel so my client provided the room...all incidentals I had to cover. The breakfast buffet was $40 + tax and tip so youre looking at around $50 per person just for breakfast. The parking for our Nissan NV2500 was $120 + 19% tax per night because according to them it is an "oversized vehicle" even though it has the same footprint as a Chevy Suburban or For Expedition which pay the standard (still too expensive) $60 + 19% tax per night rate. Then theres the $30 per night resort fee or whatever they call it, basically just for WiFi. So that said, I give it 3 stars for the beauty and history of the property but I would never stay with my family or on my own dime. It's too expensive, not enough options for food, and nothing fun to do in the immediate area. On top of all that, the service was terrible too. The 3 times I needed something from the hotel, each one took over an hour for a response. Comfy bed though!
Gorgeous views and a wonderful feeling of history here. Beautiful and ornate. Be sure to check out the historical photos in the hallways behind the lobby
The Fairmont hotel is the nicest hotel I've been to. Very fancy.
Did not stay here but came to see the life size gingerbread house it was amazing and smelled so good . The entire lobby was just beautiful.
The hotel itself is spectacular. Howcer we visited to see the gingerbread house and were told to wait in line in a side entrance. A family that had one person run ahead to get in front of us in line and had the other six people with him shove their way in front of us in line then tried to send someone to the main entrance. He waved the rest of the gang and they all tan for the front door. I was not happy with that.
Most amazing hotel room (Golden Gate Suite) and view i have experienced in SF. Some services were closed due to covid like room service and a couple of the in hotel restaurants. However there is 1 open restaurant for to go orders also the staff service here is exceptional.
You get exactly what you pay for here. Stellar customer service, amazing views and central location within a bustling city. Right next to the trolly if you are feeling tourist-y. As well as the metro lines. Very close to the wharf, China Town, and the heart of the city. Great rooms, most have been updated beautifully. I highly recommend this hotel to any and every one.
4 star hotel. Looks great, comfortable room and bed. Instruction in the room can be better.
The staff was very helpful, even though I wasn't a guest.
The Tonga room is still the best place for cocktails in San Francisco, no where in SF will you find anything close to this. Open your night with a zombie strap in and hold on you won't be disappointed.
I did not spend the night but the bar was a lot of fun
The hotel was very nice as expected. Our room was ready on time and the staff was very helpful.
Always a pleasure to visit this iconic landmark in San Francisco, especially when the ginger bread house is up at Christmas time.
Wonderful old SF landmark hotel. Grand events. Great staff. Tiki tiki in the basement.
Stunning. Best word to describe the Fairmont. Rich in history... completely gorgeous... plenty to do and see. It's stunning.
Great history.
I made a chitloada $ here over the years !
Beautiful hotel up on Nob Hill with friendly hotel staff
One of the best hotel to stay in SF. Nice, fantastic view, great quarter to access the sea, and wonderfull other SF attractions. Don t miss a cocktail in the hotel garden if you find one, they are so cool. Central and historical, good place to have fun for your next stay!
Went with a group for lunch, dispite the restaurant being empty they claimed they could not accommodate us. Which is either really bad staffing and business. The staff were rude as well.
Great old world charm. Great views from upper floors. Great old world service too.
I enjoy this hotel. Nice classic quality in the entry and commons with more modern touch in the rooms. Guest rooms remind me of the bedroom in the final scenes of 2001, for some reason.
Only complaint is water related. Showers in original part of hotel are low flow. Also, the faucet spout in the sink protrudes only about 2". I can barely get my hands under it to wash off the soap. I know, but it's a little pet peeve
You get great exercise if you walk during the day. Even the easy ascent route of Nob Hill makes me feel the burn.
And a pretty solid wine by the glass list. And the Tonga Room is awesome.
EDIT - I forgot to mention my favorite thing about this hotel. In the morning, you can visit the large, beautiful entry foyer. The hotel opens the entrance doors and the cool air blowing up Nob Hill gets sucked into the hotel. You enjoy this refreshing and crisp start to the morning while reading the news and watching folks pass thru the room. One of my favorite things to do in SF.
Beautiful hotel but expect to pay a lot extra for just about everything. Wifi, parking, breakfast not included, gym. Everything is extra.
Rude front door man. He s always trying to argue or yell at someone
Everything was amazing - the room, room service, the Christmas decorations in the lobby, and the front desk service (especially Valencia). I highly recommend the Fairmont in San Francisco.
Very good service. The meeting was a success and the atmosphere very professional.
No longer lives up to its reputation, still remains a very emblematic hotel
The view from our room was stunning. Having the Tonga Room on the terrace level was a fun and responsible way to cut loose. Room service hit the spot for late night snacks. Hope to return soon!
Beatiful hotel. Location is great. Rooms were spacious and elegant. Staff service was fantastic.
Cool old school hotel. Tony bennet statue out front. Yes sir. Only went to tonga, but cool.
Had dinner at Tonga room. Loved the ambience and decor. Food and drinks were Great, limited options for vegetarians. Parking was very expensive and need to find on street.
Christmas ginger bread house and tree were so nice in the lobby.
My Aunt being the tour guide of the family took Hubby, my cousin & I here. The lifesize Gingerbread house was pretty nice. The smell of ginger was nice. I thought I had more pics of the Gingerbread house...but only one from the top....ugh
Great service, beautiful venue. There's so much to see, it's easy to miss some stuff. Check out the rooftop garden.
Absolutely gorgeous and in a great location. Also, Samer Koda has been here so that's cool.
Brilliant but classic style Hotel, fabulous staff helped out with special requests to ensure a perfect stay
We have been there to feel Christmas atmosphere made in this hotel. That was amazing!
