A once in a lifetime experience at the Penthouse!!! Amazed by it's history and restoration. The billiard room is a treasure by itself!!!

It would have been a wonderful stay if only they didn't charge $15-$27 per night to use the WiFi.

A very beautiful, lovely property. The hotel has a long running history of being the world's only hotel that is run (and has been run since 1880) 100% by a staff of ghosts. Most guests are perfectly calmed and ready for the experience of working with entiries who no longer posess a corporal form but its always a hoot to see those who somehow made a reservation unaware!
I highly recommend this property and do recommend a coat to avoid any unfortunate ectoplasm stains.

We went to see the giant gingerbread man but it wasn't open yet. The tiki bar was pretty cool.

The tonga room is a truly top-notch tiki bar with fruity drinks, live music, and dancing.

Went to Tonga room with some friends for a couole of drinks, the tiki bar is good for live music.

You have to love the lobby. Just amazing.

Cafe in the basement is also lovely, especially when you have to get up before the asscrack of dawn to listen to a bunch of nerds talk about themselves all day.

Everything was as advertised. Our view was incredible. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

I went there for the Tonga room and the Christmas decorations. The ginger bread house is amazing. I love the decor great photo opportunity with the family. The Tonga room drinks were super awesome. Loved it.

Outstanding, wonderful rooms, the food was incredible, staff was great! I highly recommend this hotel, I didn't want to leave... The view was spectacular from my room, a very luxurious experience! The hotel is very beautiful!

Classic SF hotel with big lobby and great seasonal decorations. Nice place to grab a drink and shmooze with friends. There's a back hallway with photos from throughout the hotel's history. Giant Christmas tree and life size gingerbread house during the winter season.

Beautiful! Wonderful central location to explore all that San Francisco has to offer. Easy access via cable car, taxi, ride sharing to all the neighborhoods that make San Francisco so unique. Enjoy the Tonga Room for a feel of old Hawaii in the heart of The City....then venture out to Union Square for some serious shopping. Come visit!

A well-established and well-established hotel. Located on the hilltop, it is a little inconvenient to move, but the atmosphere is great. There are almost no amenities in the room, so bring it with you.

This is a great hotel. Elegant. Posh. Luxurious and Historic. The location is great and the staff are super friendly and the rooms are clean. So why the three stars?

When I stay at an elegant hotel, I am looking forward to the luxury. Not the cheap Vegas style mini bar which charges you automatically when you move around the drinks to make space for the yogurt you bought. An extra fridge is $50 charge. Luckily the staff were friendly and gave me one as complementary. But in my opinion, luxury is to not ask for basic amenities like an empty fridge in the room and instead just provided to you.

In this day and age, I don t know why they charge for the internet. And even after paying it s so slow. High speed internet is a necessity and it should be free for all guests.

This hotel is living in its past glory and needs to step forward into the present. There are some great things it s taken from the past - friendly staff and clean rooms. But to move forward, it needs to embrace changes and add basic amenities to its guests.

Do I recommend this hotel to others? Yes absolutely. Just for the nice staff who work here, I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

We celebrated our 25-year anniversary in San Francisco and stayed at this outstanding hotel. We were treated to a lovely congratulatory gift awaiting us in our wonderful room, with an incredible view and a sumptuous bed.

The concierge, the cleaning crew and all the staff were very friendly and gracious, and any request we had was fulfilled immediately.

We can't wait to be able to return to San Francisco and stay at this beautiful and unforgettable hotel. Thank you all.

The hotel to the series "hotel", at least here were the outdoor shots and scenes from the reception area. Historic home with flair and old-fashioned style.

The Fairmont's interior is absolutely stunning and impeccable. The Gold room where the wedding was held was well deserving of that name given the exquisite gold details all over the walls, crown moldy, and high ceilings. The open courtyard has amazing views of the city. Oh and the service upon walking in was 5 star.

Beautiful hotel! This reminds me of the fancy hotels in Manhattan. The Christmas decorations were amazing, the suite was of premium quality and the service was excellent! I would highly recommend this hotel.

I brought a colleague visiting from Tokyo to the Tonga Room late on a Sunday night. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was fun. Food and drinks were as expected. My visitor had a good time.

The meeting area is gorgeous. The outdoor garden is beautiful and great venue for a company work event

Very clean hotel in general, all of the staff friendly and helpful, and there was a nice non-judgemental environment throughout

Everything about it was great, excellent service and staff, however the quality of food during breakfast was sub par. Realize we had approximately 500-600 people, but could have had a better selection that stayed longer.

Enjoyed visiting the Tonga room. The bar had an excellent atmosphere and the drinks were delicious!

Room is nice, slight smaller than the price would suggest, lovely view and excellent staff.

We stayed at the wing where rooms had still strong paint smell. It was not pleasant. But as a whole, it is at a wonderful location.

This hotel is super fancy from the grand entrance all the way down the long hallway of the old buildings with all the old photos of people on the walls this place is magnificent very large very pretty the rooms are in good shape their brand-new seem like and the staff is nice I had a better view but other than that it was great little expensive though but I guess that's what you get when you get the best definitely worth it

Exceptional historic property with fantastic views, impeccably clean and well-appointed rooms and great food.

I find that prices aren't really great especially milk meat and dairy products but the free samples of coffee and snacks make a most enjoyable visit to the grocery store.

I was recently at this hotel for a wedding dinner and cocktail hour where they double booked the party I was attending. They moved us to another room with a whole different menu and atmosphere. They were very unapologetic to the bride and groom and I felt like the food was subpar for the price point.

Great top of the hill location, amazing views of the city, beautifully freshly remodeled rooms with a tasteful finish.
