Festive atmosphere and nice Christmas decorations every year.
We stayed for 3 nights in July paid the room with vouchers and other expenses with my credit card. 6 weeks later the hotel suddenly debited USD1219.17 from my credit card without any notice. After numbers of phone calls and email to the hotel asking to refund the money they agreed to refund but still no explanation or compensation for the trouble they caused. They are going to refund the money only because they were caught. They attempted a theft! Our bank escalated this case as a fraud. Be careful of this hotel.
Beautiful hotel. Historic property. Lively bar on site. Service at the valet and check in was wonderful. Service at the bar was mediocre and took far too long. Room was smaller than expected and bathroom was not the Fairmont standard I expected.
Important note! There is a duplicate address in the vehicle GPS that may lead you to the Presidio. That is the wrong address.
Historic landmark hotel, great rooms and a great tiki bar restaurant(tonga room). Not cheap but worth the price for a treat to yourself and a friend or significant other
Enjoyed our stay immensely! Service was great and food readily available, even at all hours of the night.
An amazing hotel and located at an amazing location. You are at the center of so many amazing touring opportunities. They have the kindest staff who are truly dedicated to giving you a great day. I personally found Steven Struck (the concierge) to be the kindest and most helpful person in my trip so far. He was able to help me come up with a full sightseeing plan under a moments notice. He was also able to help me find dinner options over the phone. I truly recommend this hotel.
Great rooms and the concierge was great, very helpful!
Getting to the lower event rooms was a bit confusing, especially when there were several events going on.
I love everything about the Fairmont San Francisco! It has a regal elegance perched on the top of Nob Hill and the views from the tower rooms that look out over the bay are incredible!
They have really nice service. The hotel is really clean and kept in nice shape. Nice architecture.
didn't stay. just went to see the christmas tree and gingerbread house.
The Fairmont was a surprisingly great venue for a conference. The rooms were comfortable and the atmosphere was amazing.
We got married here this past weekend. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooftop garden where we had our ceremony was beautiful, and the crown room where we had our reception was set up very nicely and had an incredible view.
Visited the smoking lounge and bar. Great service and beautiful atmosphere.
Historical and upscale hotel in the heart of San Francisco. Well located and great service. Recommended!
Christmas tree and gingerbread house is amazing! Stay for tea!
I love the President's Club. Really good service and views for their rooms.
Beautiful hotel. Very nice event spaces for conferences, etc. Decent food.
Disclaimer: we were only there to see the gingerbread house, but it's always lovely
The Tonga room is a must-do -- classic tiki bar with floating band, fruity drinks (poured strong), and everything you need to feel transported to a make-believe 50's fantasy of an island bar.
The staff at the Fairmont is the best. It's a great location, and a beautiful hotel. Very comfortable place to stay in a great location. The Tonga Room is not to be missed.
We went for Christmas lunch, it was really great. We were on the top floor and it had amazing views and great staff, but the food could have been better.
Charming hotel. Wonderful staff. Great location. We will be back.
Don't stay here. Writing while we are still here because so bad. Elevators crammed for convention that they didn't warn us about. This is NOT the luxury experience that they advertise.
We needed to get back to our room and we couldn't for a long time, due to packed elevators from convention. When brought that to front desks attention, they said "well, you booked through a 3rd party." Yes we booked through Expedia, but why should that matter?!?! I guess they meant they couldn't give us a heads up when booked. However, they could have when we checked in, so that takes the wind out of their sails on that argument.
This hotel survives on its awesome history. If you are a hotel focusing on past, apparently it is because the present isn't as good.
With all the other hotel choices in San Francisco, do not chose this one.
If you want to be transported away to a version of the South Pacific invented by Don draper (but lived by no one...ever) head to the Tonga room. Have 267836 scorpion bowls or other amazing drinks and enjoy the band while they float past you in a tiki barge.
Beautiful and historic hotel in downtown San Francisco. Love the Tonga Room.
Great Hotel, but too cold with all the marble floor, no carpeting in the lobby except around the Christmas tree. Thr room wad very clean anf modern, all new rooms on the mezzanine level! Decorations were beautiful in thr lobby, too expensive food, nut lovely hotel!
This building is unbelievable. Historic, well maintained & spotless, however we couldn t get the a/c to work properly. If you woke up to a cool room 65 degrees then wanted to move it to 68 while you dressed.... it felt like the heater would come VS a/c turnoff? You d feel hot air coming from vents. The breakfast is great, the folks serving are so nice. It s not worth $40.
This was a really nice hotel but not as much stuff going on here as I expected for such a nice hotel. We just visited, it was to much to stay for us.
Posh, but not over priced. Great value allows for tiping an extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful staff. They really earn your appreciation here. Come for the professionalism, stay for the luxury.
I love me a good tiki bar! Tried a few different drinks and I recommend the rum runner.
Love the Gingerbread house, Christmas decos, and Grilled Gruyere in French bread! Says Christmas to me
There is nothing more pleasurable than to experience the ultimate in sophistication. Grand Dame of San Francisco presiding at Nob Hill offers splendid refinement and historic charm at 5star level of service. Staff food and style are in seriously extraordinary levels of perfection. This is a Must Do.
Great live music and service. Food was adequate at best and not worth the price. Drinks are great especially at the price point.
If you're in SF, it's an experience you should consider. You can only make a reservation there as a hotel guest. If you get there after 8pm, there a $15 pp charge for the music entertainment.
Splendid 5-star hotel in the heart of the city. Super breakfast, comfortable rooms, impeccable service. Consequent prices.
Very good service..director Maggie and concierge Diana It really a great woman i had a problem with the room and they resolve it immediately..i really appreciate the courtesy and the kindly..also wanna say thx to clean woman May chow for courtesy..very good service in this hotel for this staff
A grand historical hotel with one of the best views of the city.
It was amazing view!! My CEO was retiring and we had a good bye party there. Everything was amazing.
Absolutely stunning especially around Christmas time
Simply Amazing ... Kellie L was extremely helpful the room that we received was great got to watched a random couple get married from our window in the Fairmont San Francisco garden pretty cool, thanks! =)
Location is always a fun hike. Place is fantastic with great views
High-end hotel in San Francisco with one of the best lobby's in the world! Staff and very friendly and helpful. The parking is very, very expensive so try again having a car is possible.
Historic facade, beautiful views from the specialty rooms, very nice rooftop garden, gorgeous ball room.
What's not to love. I felt as though I'd stepped into an old black and white movie. A romantic Christmas story...
The tree in the lobby was towering with glistening bulbs. Excited families were gathering around it for their special shot in their best outfits. The ornate ceilings were twenty plus feet tall. A ginger bread house made of real gingerbread tiles....All of it was such a memorable experience. I hope to go back again someday. I highly recommend!!
we stayed at the tower on the 19th floor and the view was amazing! Service was very good
Location location location. Loved its central location and easy access to feel the vibrancy of the city.
Oh gosh, I used to live in the area before going off to college and I recently came back to visit with my boyfriend. The hotel is so nice (its San Francisco, almost everything is nice around here!!). The reception office folk were really friendly. Our rooms were nice and clean when we first got there (we stayed for about a week, didn't want to stay with family for privacy reasons). Gosh I miss the city already.
It is REALLY expensive, but hey, its San Francisco and I wanted to splurge for this one week. The price for any 5 star hotel in this city is about the same price, if not more. If you do plan on staying for a week and are on a budget, try to get a hotel/motel room in a different city. If you can handle the traffic commuting to and from San Francisco then its well worth it if you want to save money.
Big lobby. Friendly staff. Perfect location. We had an upgrade with a great view. Thank You
The history of the Hotel is very COOL!! The price of Valet parking is ridiculous!!! We were told $50 for the night then charged $74 with fees and taxes. No restaurants open in hotel after 8pm. serving only alcohol in the main restaurant. had to resort to room service were they charged $55.00 for a children's cheeseburger and fries. After seeing my CC bill, I called and was actually laughed at when I questioned the charges!! The more I said the worse the woman laughed. For such a fine establishment, I 100% expected better SERVICE!!
Rooms are nice, large, nothing extra worth mentioning. Staff was OK.
The front desk employee gave us completely wrong directions to our room. Took 1 full hour for bell desk to deliver our luggage. Wind was incredibly cold and hard we couldn't walk anywhere. NOT WORTH THE MONEY with so many other amazing places to stay.
Beautiful hotel, so much history and details in all the big conference/entertainment rooms!
Waited over 15 min before anyone came over to greet us after being seated
Outstanding upscale hotel. The restaurant is great, some of the best breakfasts I've had in my life. Beautiful decor and great staff. You can get some very good rates for this place if you're willing to check out places like Hotel Tonight. Definitely recommended if you're looking for that special luxury visit to SF.
Amazing, historic world class hotel, beautiful views, good food, excellent staff.
Classy with the best service. We stay at Fairmont wherever we can.
Aside from my phone signal being dead, the place is quite amazing.
Beautiful location, views and food here! It's a fantastic heritage property with typical Fairmont class of service.
I frequent SF a lot and one of my favorite hotels is The Fairmont SF. But then again, I haven't been to any Fairmont hotel and disliked it.
However, this particular branch is especially wonderful during the holidays. The hotel hosts a giant tree in the foyer, decorated to the max, coupled with a life-size ginger bread house. Please don't eat the house.
High class joint. Lovely accommodations and professional staff.
Loved the gingerbread house and the holiday decorations. Wished the Tongo room was open earlier.
